Către mai marele cântăreţilor. Se cântă ca şi „Crinul mărturiei”. O cântare de laudă a lui David, spre învăţătură. Făcută când purta război cu sirienii din Mesopotamia şi cu sirienii din Ţoba şi când s-a întors Ioab şi a bătut în Valea Sării douăsprezece mii de edomiţi.

Az éneklőmesternek a susanheduthra, Dávidnak tanító miktámja;

O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again.

Dumnezeule, ne-ai lepădat, ne-ai împrăştiat şi Te-ai mâniat: ridică-ne iarăşi!

Mikor harczolt a mesopotámiai szirusokkal és a czóbai szirusokkal; és visszafordult Joáb és megverte az Edomitákat a Sóvölgyben, tizenkétezeret.

Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.

Ai cutremurat pământul, l-ai despicat; drege-i spărturile, căci se clatină!

O God, you have rejected us, broken our defenses; you have been angry; oh, restore us.

Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.

Ai făcut pe poporul Tău să treacă prin lucruri grele, ne-ai adăpat cu un vin de amorţire.

You have made the land to quake; you have torn it open; repair its breaches, for it totters.

Megrendítetted ez országot, ketté szakasztottad; építsd meg romlásait, mert megindult.

Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.

Ai dat celor ce se tem de Tine un steag, ca să-l înalţe spre biruinţa adevărului. – (Oprire)

You have made your people see hard things; you have given us wine to drink that made us stagger.

God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.

Dumnezeu a zis în sfinţenia Lui: „Voi ieşi biruitor, voi împărţi Sihemul şi voi măsura valea Sucot.

That your beloved ones may be delivered, give salvation by your right hand and answer us!

Hogy megszabaduljanak a te kedveltjeid: segíts jobboddal és hallgass meg minket!

Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;

Al Meu este Galaadul, al Meu este Manase; Efraim este tăria capului Meu, iar Iuda, toiagul Meu de cârmuire.

God has spoken in his holiness: “With exultation I will divide up Shechem and portion out the Vale of Succoth.

Szent helyén azt mondta Isten: Örvendezve osztom ki Sikemet, és mérem ki Szukkót völgyét.

Az ő szent helyén mondotta Isten: Örvendezek, kiosztom Sikemet és kimérem a Szukkót völgyét:

Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me.

Moab este ligheanul în care Mă spăl; peste Edom Îmi arunc încălţămintea; ţara filistenilor strigă de bucurie din pricina Mea!” –

Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet; Judah is my scepter.

Enyém Gileád, és enyém Manassé, Efraim sisak a fejemen, Júda pedig az uralkodói pálcám.

Enyim Gileád és enyim Manasse, Efraim az én fejemnek oltalma: Júda az én törvény-rendelőm.

Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?

Cine mă va duce în cetatea întărită? Cine mă va duce la Edom?

Moab is my washbasin; upon Edom I cast my shoe; over Philistia I shout in triumph.”

Móáb a mosdómedencém, Edómra teszem rá sarumat, nekem örül Filisztea!

Moáb az én mosdómedenczém, Edomra vetem az én sarumat; te Filisztea nékem örülj!

Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies?

Oare nu Tu, Dumnezeule, care ne-ai lepădat şi nu mai ieşi, Dumnezeule, cu oştirile noastre?

Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom?

Ki vezet engem az erős városba? Ki kísér el Edómig?

Kicsoda vezet engem az erős városba? Kicsoda kisért el Edomig engem?

Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

Dă-ne ajutor, ca să scăpăm din necaz! Căci ajutorul omului este zadarnic.

Have you not rejected us, O God? You do not go forth, O God, with our armies.

Csak nem te magad, Istenem, bár megvetettél minket, s nem vonultál ki seregeinkkel?

Nem te-é, oh Isten, a ki megvetettél minket, s nem vonultál ki, oh Isten, a mi seregeinkkel?

Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

Cu Dumnezeu vom face isprăvi mari, şi El va zdrobi pe vrăjmaşii noştri.

Oh, grant us help against the foe, for vain is the salvation of man!
