We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.

Dumnezeule, am auzit cu urechile noastre, şi părinţii noştri ne-au povestit lucrările pe care le-ai făcut pe vremea lor, în zilele de odinioară.

Ó, Istenünk! Fülünkkel hallottuk, atyáink beszélték el nekünk azt a dolgot, amelyet napjaikban, a hajdankor napjaiban cselekedtél.

Oh Isten! füleinkkel hallottuk, atyáink beszélték el nékünk a dolgot, a melyet napjaikban, a hajdankor napjaiban cselekedtél.

How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.

Cu mâna Ta ai izgonit neamuri, ca să-i sădeşti pe ei, ai lovit popoare, ca să-i întinzi pe ei.

O God, we have heard with our ears, our fathers have told us, what deeds you performed in their days, in the days of old:

Nemzeteket űztél ki saját kezeddel, őket pedig helyükbe ültetted. Népeket törtél össze, őket pedig kiterjesztetted.

For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.

Căci nu prin sabia lor au pus mâna pe ţară, nu braţul lor i-a mântuit, ci dreapta Ta, braţul Tău, lumina feţei Tale, pentru că îi iubeai.

you with your own hand drove out the nations, but them you planted; you afflicted the peoples, but them you set free;

Mert nem fegyverükkel szereztek földet, és nem az ő karjuk segített nekik, hanem a te jobbod, a te karod és a te arcod világossága, mert kedvelted őket.

Mert nem az ő fegyverökkel szereztek földet, és nem az ő karjok segített nékik; hanem a te jobbod, a te karod és a te orczád világossága, mert kedvelted őket.

Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob.

Dumnezeule, Tu eşti Împăratul meu: porunceşte izbăvirea lui Iacov!

for not by their own sword did they win the land, nor did their own arm save them, but your right hand and your arm, and the light of your face, for you delighted in them.

Te vagy a királyom, ó, Istenem! Rendelj segítséget Jákóbnak!

Te magad vagy az én királyom oh Isten! Rendelj segítséget Jákóbnak!

Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.

Cu Tine doborâm pe vrăjmaşii noştri, cu Numele Tău zdrobim pe potrivnicii noştri.

You are my King, O God; ordain salvation for Jacob!

Általad verjük le szorongatóinkat, nevedben tiporjuk le támadóinkat.

For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.

Căci nu în arcul meu mă încred, nu sabia mea mă va scăpa;

Through you we push down our foes; through your name we tread down those who rise up against us.

Mert nem az íjamban bízom, és kardom sem véd meg engem,

Mert nem az ívemben bízom, és kardom sem védelmez meg engem;

But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us.

For not in my bow do I trust, nor can my sword save me.

In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.

But you have saved us from our foes and have put to shame those who hate us.

But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest not forth with our armies.

Dar Tu ne lepezi, ne acoperi de ruşine, nu mai ieşi cu oştirile noastre;

In God we have boasted continually, and we will give thanks to your name forever. Selah

Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.

ne faci să dăm dosul înaintea vrăjmaşului, şi cei ce ne urăsc ridică prăzi luate de la noi.

But you have rejected us and disgraced us and have not gone out with our armies.

Megfutamítottál minket szorongatóink elől, és gyűlölőink kifosztottak bennünket.

Megfutamítottál minket szorongatóink előtt, és a kik gyűlölnek minket, fosztogattak magoknak.

Thou hast given us like sheep appointed for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen.

Ne dai ca pe nişte oi de mâncat şi ne risipeşti printre neamuri.

You have made us turn back from the foe, and those who hate us have gotten spoil.

Odadobtál minket mint vágójuhokat, és szétszórtál minket a nemzetek között.

Thou sellest thy people for nought, and dost not increase thy wealth by their price.

Vinzi pe poporul Tău pe nimic şi nu-l socoteşti de mare preţ.

You have made us like sheep for slaughter and have scattered us among the nations.

Nagyon olcsón adtad el népedet, és nem tartottad magasra az árát.

Eladtad a te népedet nagy olcsón, és nem becsülted az árát magasra.

Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.

Ne faci de ocara vecinilor noştri, de batjocura şi de râsul celor ce ne înconjoară.

You have sold your people for a trifle, demanding no high price for them.

Thou makest us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people.

Ne faci de pomină printre neamuri şi pricină de clătinare din cap printre popoare.

You have made us the taunt of our neighbors, the derision and scorn of those around us.

Példabeszéd tárgyává tettél a népek között, fejüket csóválják a nemzetek.

Példabeszédül vetettél oda a pogányoknak, fejcsóválásra a népeknek.

My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,

You have made us a byword among the nations, a laughingstock among the peoples.

All day long my disgrace is before me, and shame has covered my face

All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.

Toate acestea ni se întâmplă fără ca noi să Te fi uitat, fără să fi călcat legământul Tău:

at the sound of the taunter and reviler, at the sight of the enemy and the avenger.

Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way;

da, inima nu ni s-a abătut, paşii nu ni s-au depărtat de pe cărarea Ta,

All this has come upon us, though we have not forgotten you, and we have not been false to your covenant.

Nem pártolt el tőled a szívünk, lépteink sem tértek le ösvényedről;

Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.

Our heart has not turned back, nor have our steps departed from your way;

yet you have broken us in the place of jackals and covered us with the shadow of death.

Ha elfelejtettük volna Istenünk nevét, és idegen istenhez emeltük volna föl kezünket,

Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.

n-ar şti Dumnezeu lucrul acesta, El, care cunoaşte tainele inimii?

If we had forgotten the name of our God or spread out our hands to a foreign god,

vajon nem vette volna észre ezt Isten? Mert ő jól ismeri a szív titkait.

Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.

Dar din pricina Ta suntem înjunghiaţi în toate zilele, suntem priviţi ca nişte oi sortite pentru măcelărie.

would not God discover this? For he knows the secrets of the heart.

Bizony érted gyilkolnak minket mindennap; vágójuhoknak tekintenek minket.

Bizony te éretted gyilkoltak minket mindennapon; tekintettek bennünket, mint vágó-juhokat.

Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.

Trezeşte-Te! Pentru ce dormi, Doamne? Trezeşte-Te! Nu ne lepăda pe vecie!

Yet for your sake we are killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.

Kelj fel! Miért alszol, Uram? Kelj föl, ne vess el minket örökre!

Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?

Pentru ce Îţi ascunzi faţa? Pentru ce uiţi de nenorocirea şi apăsarea noastră?

Awake! Why are you sleeping, O Lord? Rouse yourself! Do not reject us forever!

Miért rejted el arcodat, miért felejted el nyomorúságunkat és elnyomatásunkat?

For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.

Căci sufletul ne este doborât în ţărână de mâhnire, trupul nostru este lipit de pământ.

Why do you hide your face? Why do you forget our affliction and oppression?
