Zokon veszed-e, ha szólni próbálok hozzád? De hát ki bírná itt türtőztetni magát a beszédben?

Ha szólni próbálunk hozzád, zokon veszed-é? De hát ki bírná türtőztetni magát a beszédben?

If we assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved? but who can withhold himself from speaking?

„Dacă vom îndrăzni să-ţi vorbim, te vei supăra? Dar cine ar putea să tacă?

“If one ventures a word with you, will you be impatient? Yet who can keep from speaking?

Íme, sokakat oktattál, és a megfáradt kezeket megerősítetted.

Ímé sokakat oktattál, és a megfáradott kezeket megerősítetted;

Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands.

De multe ori tu ai învăţat pe alţii şi ai întărit mâinile slăbite.

Behold, you have instructed many, and you have strengthened the weak hands.

A tántorgót talpra állította a beszéded, és a remegő térdeket megerősítetted.

A tántorgót a te beszédeid fentartották, és a reszkető térdeket megerősítetted;

Thy words have upholden him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees.

Cuvintele tale au ridicat pe cei ce se clătinau şi ai întărit genunchii care se îndoiau.

Your words have upheld him who was stumbling, and you have made firm the feeble knees.

Most, hogy rád került a sor, zokon veszed? Ha téged ért a baj, megrettensz?!

Most, hogy rád jött [a sor], zokon veszed; hogy téged ért [a baj,] elrettensz!

But now it is come upon thee, and thou faintest; it toucheth thee, and thou art troubled.

Şi acum, când este vorba de tine, eşti slab! Acum, când eşti atins tu, te tulburi! Nu este frica ta de Dumnezeu sprijinul tău?

But now it has come to you, and you are impatient; it touches you, and you are dismayed.

Nem ad bizodalmat istenfélelmed, sem reménységet utaid becsületessége?

Nem bizodalmad-é a te istenfélelmed, s nem reménységed- é utaidnak becsületessége?

Is not this thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways?

Nădejdea ta, nu-i neprihănirea ta?

Is not your fear of God your confidence, and the integrity of your ways your hope?

Emlékezzél hát, elveszett-e valaki is ártatlanul, és tönkrement-e valahol is az igaz?

Emlékezzél, kérlek, ki az, a ki elveszett ártatlanul, és hol töröltettek el az igazak?

Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished, being innocent? or where were the righteous cut off?

Adu-ţi aminte, te rog: care nevinovat a pierit? Care oameni neprihăniţi au fost nimiciţi?

“Remember: who that was innocent ever perished? Or where were the upright cut off?

Ahogyan én láttam, akik hamisságot szántanak, és gonoszságot vetnek, azt is aratnak.

A mint én láttam, a kik hamisságot szántanak és gonoszságot vetnek, ugyanazt aratnak.

Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.

După câte am văzut eu, numai cei ce ară fărădelegea şi seamănă nelegiuirea îi seceră roadele!

As I have seen, those who plow iniquity and sow trouble reap the same.

Isten leheletétől elpusztulnak, haragja szelétől elvesznek.

Az Istennek lehelletétől elvesznek, az ő haragjának szelétől elpusztulnak.

By the blast of God they perish, and by the breath of his nostrils are they consumed.

Aceia pier prin suflarea lui Dumnezeu, nimiciţi de vântul mâniei Lui.

By the breath of God they perish, and by the blast of his anger they are consumed.

Az oroszlán ordíthat, a nőstény oroszlán üvölthet, de majd az oroszlánkölykök fogai is kitörnek!

Az oroszlán ordítása, a sakál üvöltése, és az oroszlán-kölykök fogai megsemmisülnek.

The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken.

Mugetul leilor încetează, dinţii puilor de lei sunt zdrobiţi!

The roar of the lion, the voice of the fierce lion, the teeth of the young lions are broken.

Az agg oroszlán elpusztul, ha nincs martaléka, a nőstény oroszlán kölykei elszélednek.

Az agg oroszlán elvész, ha nincs martaléka, a nőstény oroszlán kölykei elszélednek.

The old lion perisheth for lack of prey, and the stout lion's whelps are scattered abroad.

Leul bătrân piere din lipsă de pradă, şi puii leoaicei se risipesc.

The strong lion perishes for lack of prey, and the cubs of the lioness are scattered.

Egy szó lopódzott hozzám, de csak valami nesz ütötte meg abból a fülemet,

Now a thing was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a little thereof.

Un cuvânt s-a furişat până la mine, şi urechea mea i-a prins sunetele uşoare.

“Now a word was brought to me stealthily; my ear received the whisper of it.

Félelem szállt rám és rettegés, reszketett minden csontom.

Félelem szálla rám, és rettegés, s megreszketteté minden csontomat.

Fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones to shake.

m-a apucat groaza şi spaima, şi toate oasele mi-au tremurat.

Szellem suhant el előttem, és testemen a szőr felborzolódott.

Valami szellem suhant el előttem, s testemnek szőre felborzolódék.

Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up:

Un duh a trecut pe lângă mine… tot părul mi s-a zbârlit ca ariciul…

A spirit glided past my face; the hair of my flesh stood up.

Megállt, de nem ismertem föl; egy alak volt a szemem előtt, csend volt, majd egy szót hallottam:

Megálla, de ábrázatját föl nem ismerém, egy alak vala szemeim előtt, mély csend, és [ilyen] szót hallék:

It stood still, but I could not discern the form thereof: an image was before mine eyes, there was silence, and I heard a voice, saying,

Vajon igaz-e Isten előtt a halandó? Teremtője előtt tiszta-e az ember?

Vajjon a halandó igaz-é Istennél: az ő teremtője előtt tiszta-é az ember?

Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?

„Fi-va omul fără vină înaintea lui Dumnezeu? Fi-va el curat înaintea Celui ce l-a făcut?

‘Can mortal man be in the right before God? Can a man be pure before his Maker?

Íme, szolgáiban sem bízhat, és angyalaiban is talál hibát.

Ímé az ő szolgáiban sem bízhatik és az ő angyalaiban is talál hibát:

Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly:

Dacă n-are încredere Dumnezeu nici în slujitorii Săi, dacă găseşte El greşeli chiar la îngerii Săi,

Even in his servants he puts no trust, and his angels he charges with error;

Hát még azokban, akik agyagházakban laknak, amelyeknek porban van az alapjuk, és könnyebben szétnyomhatók a molynál.

Mennyivel inkább a sárházak lakosaiban, a kiknek fundamentumok a porban van, és könnyebben szétnyomhatók a molynál?!

How much less in them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, which are crushed before the moth?

cu cât mai mult la cei ce locuiesc în case de lut, care îşi trag obârşia din ţărână şi pot fi zdrobiţi ca un vierme!

how much more those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed like the moth.

Reggeltől estig széttörnek, és anélkül, hogy észrevennék, örökre elvesznek.

Reggeltől estig gyötrődnek, s a nélkül, hogy észrevennék, elvesznek örökre.

They are destroyed from morning to evening: they perish for ever without any regarding it.

De dimineaţă până seara sunt zdrobiţi, pier pentru totdeauna şi nimeni nu ţine seama de ei.

Between morning and evening they are beaten to pieces; they perish forever without anyone regarding it.

Ha kiszakítják sátruk cövekét, nem halnak-e meg, mégpedig bölcsesség nélkül?

Ha kiszakíttatik belőlök sátoruk kötele, nem halnak-é meg, és pedig bölcsesség nélkül?

Doth not their excellency which is in them go away? they die, even without wisdom.

Li se taie firul vieţii: mor şi tot n-au căpătat înţelepciunea!

Is not their tent-cord plucked up within them, do they not die, and that without wisdom?’
