Hallgassátok meg szavaimat, bölcsek, és ti, tudósok, fordítsátok felém a fületeket!

Hear my words, O ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.

„Ascultaţi, înţelepţilor, cuvintele mele! Luaţi aminte la mine, pricepuţilor!

“Hear my words, you wise men, and give ear to me, you who know;

Mert a fül úgy vizsgálja meg a szót, mint ahogyan az íny kóstolja az ételt.

For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat.

Căci urechea deosebeşte cuvintele, cum gustă cerul gurii bucatele.

for the ear tests words as the palate tastes food.

Keressük csak együtt az igazságot, értsük meg együtt, mi a jó!

Keressük csak magunk az igazságot, értsük meg magunk között, mi a jó?

Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what is good.

Să alegem ce este drept, să vedem între noi ce este bun.

Let us choose what is right; let us know among ourselves what is good.

For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my judgment.

Should I lie against my right? my wound is incurable without transgression.

Which goeth in company with the workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.

care să umble în tovărăşia celor ce fac rău, care să meargă mână în mână cu cei nelegiuiţi?

who travels in company with evildoers and walks with wicked men?

Mert ezt mondja: Nem használ az embernek, ha kedvét leli Istenben.

For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.

Căci el a zis: „Nu-i foloseşte nimic omului să-şi pună plăcerea în Dumnezeu.”

For he has said, ‘It profits a man nothing that he should take delight in God.’

Azért ti, tudós emberek, hallgassatok meg engem! Távol van Istentől a gonoszság és a Mindenhatótól az álnokság!

Azért, ti tudós emberek, hallgassatok meg engem! Távol legyen Istentől a gonoszság, és a Mindenhatótól az álnokság!

Therefore hearken unto me ye men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.

Ascultaţi-mă dar, oameni pricepuţi! Departe de Dumnezeu nedreptatea, departe de Cel Atotputernic fărădelegea!

“Therefore, hear me, you men of understanding: far be it from God that he should do wickedness, and from the Almighty that he should do wrong.

Sőt inkább ahogy az ember cselekszik, úgy fizet neki, és mindenki azt találja meg, amit kiérdemelt.

Sőt inkább, a mint cselekszik az ember, úgy fizet néki, és kiki az ő útja szerint találja meg, a mit keres.

For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.

El dă omului după faptele lui, răsplăteşte fiecăruia după căile lui.

For according to the work of a man he will repay him, and according to his ways he will make it befall him.

Bizonyos, hogy Isten nem cselekszik gonoszságot, a Mindenható nem ferdíti el az igazságot!

Bizonyára az Isten nem cselekszik gonoszságot, a Mindenható el nem ferdíti az igazságot!

Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.

Nu, negreşit, Dumnezeu nu săvârşeşte fărădelegea; Cel Atotputernic nu calcă dreptatea.

Of a truth, God will not do wickedly, and the Almighty will not pervert justice.

Kicsoda bízta rá a földet, és ki rendezte el az egész világot?

Who hath given him a charge over the earth? or who hath disposed the whole world?

Cine L-a însărcinat să cârmuiască pământul? Cine I-a dat lumea în grija Lui?

Who gave him charge over the earth, and who laid on him the whole world?

Ha csak önmagára lenne gondja, és visszavenné magához lelkét és leheletét,

Ha csak ő magára volna gondja, lelkét és lehellését magához vonná:

If he set his heart upon man, if he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath;

Dacă nu S-ar gândi decât la El, dacă Şi-ar lua înapoi duhul şi suflarea,

If he should set his heart to it and gather to himself his spirit and his breath,

egyszerre kimúlna minden test, és az ember visszatérne a porba.

Elhervadna együtt minden test és az ember visszatérne a porba.

All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust.

tot ce este carne ar pieri deodată, şi omul s-ar întoarce în ţărână.

all flesh would perish together, and man would return to dust.

Ha tehát van eszed, halld meg ezt, jól fülelj szavamra!

If now thou hast understanding, hear this: hearken to the voice of my words.

Dacă ai pricepere, ascultă lucrul acesta, ia aminte la glasul cuvintelor mele!

“If you have understanding, hear this; listen to what I say.

Vajon kormányozhat-e, aki gyűlöli a törvényt? Vagy kárhoztathatod-e az igazat, a hatalmast?

Vajjon, a ki gyűlöli az igazságot, kormányozhat-é? Avagy az ellenállhatatlan igazat kárhoztathatod-é?

Shall even he that hateth right govern? and wilt thou condemn him that is most just?

Oare ar putea să domnească un vrăjmaş al dreptăţii? Şi vei osândi tu pe Cel drept, pe Cel puternic,

Shall one who hates justice govern? Will you condemn him who is righteous and mighty,

Ő azt mondja a királynak: Te semmirevaló! És a főembereknek: Ti gonosztevők!

A ki azt mondja a királynak: Te semmirevaló! És a főembereknek: Te gonosztevő!

Is it fit to say to a king, Thou art wicked? and to princes, Ye are ungodly?

care strigă către împăraţi: „Netrebnicilor!” Şi către domnitori: „Nelegiuiţilor!”

who says to a king, ‘Worthless one,’ and to nobles, ‘Wicked man,’

Nem nézi a fejedelmek személyét, és nem helyezi a gazdagot a szegény fölé; mert ők mindnyájan kezének alkotásai.

A ki nem nézi a fejedelmek személyét és a gazdagot a szegénynek fölibe nem helyezteti; mert mindnyájan az ő kezének munkája.

How much less to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? for they all are the work of his hands.

Care nu caută la faţa celor mari şi nu face deosebire între bogat şi sărac, pentru că toţi sunt lucrarea mâinilor Lui?

who shows no partiality to princes, nor regards the rich more than the poor, for they are all the work of his hands?

Egy pillanat alatt meghalnak; éjnek idején felriadnak a népek, és elenyésznek, a hatalmas is eltűnik kéz érintése nélkül!

Egy pillanat alatt meghalnak; éjfélkor felriadnak a népek és elenyésznek, a hatalmas [is] eltűnik kéz nélkül!

In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand.

Într-o clipă, ei îşi pierd viaţa. La miezul nopţii, un popor se clatină şi piere. Cel puternic piere, fără amestecul mâinii vreunui om.

In a moment they die; at midnight the people are shaken and pass away, and the mighty are taken away by no human hand.

Mert ő szemmel tartja mindenkinek az útját, és jól látja az ember minden lépését.

For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.

Căci Dumnezeu vede purtarea tuturor, priveşte paşii fiecăruia.

“For his eyes are on the ways of a man, and he sees all his steps.

Még a sötétségbe és a halál árnyékába sem rejtőzhetnek el a gonosztevők.

Nincs setétség és nincs a halálnak árnyéka, a hova elrejtőzhessék a gonosztevő;

There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.

Nu este nici întuneric, nici umbră a morţii, unde să se poată ascunde cei ce fac fărădelegea.

There is no gloom or deep darkness where evildoers may hide themselves.

Mert Istennek nem kell sokáig szemmel tartania az embert azért, hogy elébe kerüljön ítéletre!

Mert nem sokáig kell szemmel tartania az embert, hogy az Isten elé kerüljön ítéletre!

For he will not lay upon man more than right; that he should enter into judgment with God.

Dumnezeu n-are nevoie să privească multă vreme, ca să tragă pe un om la judecată înaintea Lui.

For God has no need to consider a man further, that he should go before God in judgment.

Ő hatalmasokat zúz össze vizsgálódás nélkül, és másokat állít a helyükre,

Megrontja a hatalmasokat vizsgálat nélkül, és másokat állít helyökbe.

He shall break in pieces mighty men without number, and set others in their stead.

El zdrobeşte pe cei mari fără cercetare şi pune pe alţii în locul lor.

He shatters the mighty without investigation and sets others in their place.

mert fölismeri cselekedeteiket; éjjel ellenük fordul, és szétmorzsolja őket.

Ekképen felismeri cselekedeteiket, és éjjel is ellenök fordul és szétmorzsoltatnak.

Therefore he knoweth their works, and he overturneth them in the night, so that they are destroyed.

Căci El cunoaşte faptele lor: noaptea îi răstoarnă, sunt zdrobiţi.

Thus, knowing their works, he overturns them in the night, and they are crushed.

Megtapossa őket, mint a gonosztevőket, mégpedig olyan helyen, ahol látják.

Gonosztevők gyanánt tapodja meg őket olyan helyen, a hol látják.

He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others;

Îi loveşte ca pe nişte nelegiuiţi, în faţa tuturor.

He strikes them for their wickedness in a place for all to see,

Mert eltávolodtak tőle, és nem gondoltak egyetlen útjával sem,

A kik azért távoztak el, és azért nem gondoltak egyetlen útjával sem,

Because they turned back from him, and would not consider any of his ways:

Abătându-se de la El şi părăsind toate căile Lui,

because they turned aside from following him and had no regard for any of his ways,

hogy a szegény kiáltása eljut hozzá, és ő meghallja a nyomorultak kiáltását.

Hogy a szegény kiáltását hozzájok juttatja, és ő a nyomorultak kiáltását meghallja.

So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted.

ei au făcut să se înalţe la Dumnezeu strigătul săracului. I-au îndreptat luarea aminte la strigătul celui nenorocit.

so that they caused the cry of the poor to come to him, and he heard the cry of the afflicted—

Ha ő csendben marad, ki kérheti számon tőle? Ha elrejti arcát egy nép vagy egy ember elől, ki láthatja meg azt?

Ha ő nyugalmat ád, ki kárhoztatja őt? Ha elrejti arczát, ki láthatja meg azt? Akár nép elől, akár ember elől egyaránt;

When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:

Dacă dă El pace, cine poate s-o tulbure? Dacă Îşi ascunde El Faţa, cine poate să-L vadă? La fel Se poartă fie cu un popor, fie cu un om,

When he is quiet, who can condemn? When he hides his face, who can behold him, whether it be a nation or a man?—

Nem engedi, hogy az elvetemült ember uralkodjon, és tőrbe csalhassák a népet.

Hogy képmutató ember ne uralkodjék, és ne legyen tőre a népnek.

That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared.

pentru ca nelegiuitul să nu mai stăpânească şi să nu mai fie o cursă pentru popor.

that a godless man should not reign, that he should not ensnare the people.

Mondhatja-e valaki Istennek: Megbűnhődtem, többet nem teszek rosszat.

Bizony az Istenhez így való szólani: Elszenvedem, nem leszek rossz többé;

Surely it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne chastisement, I will not offend any more:

Căci a zis el vreodată lui Dumnezeu: „Am fost pedepsit, nu voi mai păcătui;

“For has anyone said to God, ‘I have borne punishment; I will not offend any more;

Te taníts meg engem arra, amit nem látok át. Ha gonoszságot cselekedtem, többé nem teszem!

A mit át nem látok, arra te taníts meg engemet; ha gonoszságot cselekedtem, többet nem teszem!

That which I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more.

arată-mi ce nu văd; dacă am făcut nedreptăţi, nu voi mai face”?

teach me what I do not see; if I have done iniquity, I will do it no more’?

Hát szerinted csak azt büntesse, amit te is elítélsz? Most neked kell döntened, nem nekem. Nos, mit tudsz felelni?

Avagy te szerinted fizessen-é [csak azért], mert ezt megveted, [és] hogy te szabd meg és nem én? Nos, mit tudsz? Mondd!

Should it be according to thy mind? he will recompense it, whether thou refuse, or whether thou choose; and not I: therefore speak what thou knowest.

Oare după părerea ta va face Dumnezeu dreptate? Tu lepezi, tu alegi, şi nu eu. Spune dar ce ştii!

Will he then make repayment to suit you, because you reject it? For you must choose, and not I; therefore declare what you know.

Azt mondják majd nekem az okos emberek és a bölcs férfi, aki hallgat engem:

Az okos emberek azt mondják majd nékem, és a bölcs férfiú, a ki reám hallgat:

Let men of understanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken unto me.

Oamenii cu pricepere vor fi de părerea mea, înţeleptul care m-ascultă va gândi ca mine:

Men of understanding will say to me, and the wise man who hears me will say:

Jób tudatlanul beszél, és szavait nem fontolta meg.

Jób tudatlanul szól, és szavai megfontolás nélkül valók.

Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdom.

„Iov vorbeşte fără pricepere, şi cuvântările lui sunt lipsite de judecată.

‘Job speaks without knowledge; his words are without insight.’

Bárcsak Jób próbatétele a legvégsőkig tartana, mert úgy felel, mint az álnok emberek!

Óh, bárcsak megpróbáltatnék Jób mind végiglen, a miért úgy felel, mint az álnok emberek!

My desire is that Job may be tried unto the end because of his answers for wicked men.

Să fie încercat dar mai departe, fiindcă răspunde ca cei răi!

Would that Job were tried to the end, because he answers like wicked men.

Mert vétkét gonoszsággal tetézi, csapkodja közöttünk a kezét, és istenellenes szavakkal szószátyárkodik.

Mert vétkét gonoszsággal tetézi, csapkod közöttünk, és Isten ellen szószátyárkodik.

For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth his hands among us, and multiplieth his words against God.

Căci adaugă la greşelile lui păcate noi; bate din palme în mijlocul nostru, îşi înmulţeşte cuvintele împotriva lui Dumnezeu.”

For he adds rebellion to his sin; he claps his hands among us and multiplies his words against God.”
