Majd folytatta Elíhú, és ezt mondta:

Tovább is felele Elihu, és monda:

Elihu spake moreover, and said,

Talán helyesnek tartod, hogy azt mondod: „Igazam van Istennel szemben”?

Azt gondolod-é igaznak, ha így szólsz: Az én igazságom nagyobb, mint Istené?

Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God's?

„Îţi închipui că ai dreptate şi crezi că te îndreptăţeşti înaintea lui Dumnezeu,

“Do you think this to be just? Do you say, ‘It is my right before God,’

Hiszen azt kérded: Mi hasznom belőle? Mennyivel várhatok többet, ha nem vétkezem?

Hogyha ezt mondod: Mi hasznod belőle? Mivel várhatok többet, mintha vétkezném?

For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?

când zici: „La ce-mi foloseşte, ce câştig am că nu păcătuiesc?”

that you ask, ‘What advantage have I? How am I better off than if I had sinned?’

Én megadom rá a választ neked és barátaidnak is.

Én megadom rá néked a feleletet, és barátaidnak te veled együtt.

I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.

Îţi voi răspunde şi la aceasta, ţie şi prietenilor tăi totodată.

I will answer you and your friends with you.

Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.

Uită-te spre ceruri şi priveşte! Vezi norii cât de sus sunt faţă de tine?

Look at the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds, which are higher than you.

Hogyha vétkezel, mit árthatsz neki? Ha szaporítod bűneidet, mit ártasz neki?

Hogyha vétkezel, mit tehetsz ellene; ha megsokasítod bűneidet, mit ártasz néki?

If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?

Dacă păcătuieşti, ce rău Îi faci Lui? Şi când păcatele ţi se înmulţesc, ce-I faci Lui?

If you have sinned, what do you accomplish against him? And if your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to him?

Ha igaz vagy, mit adsz neki, vagy mit kap ő a te kezedből?

Ha igaz vagy, mit adsz néki, avagy mit kap a te kezedből?

If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?

Dacă eşti drept, ce-I dai Lui? Ce primeşte El din mâna ta?

If you are righteous, what do you give to him? Or what does he receive from your hand?

Csak az olyan embernek árt a gonoszságod, mint amilyen te vagy, és az ember fiának használ az igazságod.

Az olyan embernek [árt] a te gonoszságod, mint te vagy, és igazságod az ilyen ember fiának [használ.]

Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.

Răutatea ta nu poate vătăma decât semenului tău, dreptatea ta nu foloseşte decât fiului omului.

Your wickedness concerns a man like yourself, and your righteousness a son of man.

A sok erőszak miatt kiáltoznak az emberek, jajgatnak a hatalmasok karja alatt.

By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.

Oamenii strigă împotriva mulţimii apăsătorilor, se plâng de silnicia multora;

“Because of the multitude of oppressions people cry out; they call for help because of the arm of the mighty.

De egy sem mondja: Hol van Isten, az én Teremtőm, aki hálaénekre indít éjszaka,

But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;

dar niciunul nu zice: „Unde este Dumnezeu, Făcătorul meu, care ne insuflă cântări de veselie noaptea,

But none says, ‘Where is God my Maker, who gives songs in the night,

aki többre tanít minket a föld állatainál, és bölcsebbé tesz az ég madarainál?

A ki többre tanít minket a mezei vadaknál, és bölcsebbekké tesz az ég madarainál?

Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?

care ne învaţă mai mult decât pe dobitoacele pământului şi ne dă mai multă pricepere decât păsărilor cerului?”

who teaches us more than the beasts of the earth and makes us wiser than the birds of the heavens?’

Így aztán kiálthatnak a gonoszok kevélysége miatt, de ő nem felel.

Akkor azután kiálthatnak, de ő nem felel a gonoszok kevélysége miatt;

There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.

Să tot strige ei atunci, căci Dumnezeu nu răspunde, din pricina mândriei celor răi.

There they cry out, but he does not answer, because of the pride of evil men.

Mert a hiábavalóságot nem hallgatja meg Isten, a Mindenható nem tekint ilyesmire.

Mert a hiábavalóságot Isten meg nem hallgatja, a Mindenható arra nem tekint.

Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.

Degeaba strigă, căci Dumnezeu n-ascultă, Cel Atotputernic nu ia aminte.

Surely God does not hear an empty cry, nor does the Almighty regard it.

Még akkor sem, ha azt mondod, hogy nem látod őt. Ügyed akkor is előtte van, és neked várnod kell őreá.

Hátha még azt mondod: Te nem látod őt; az ügy előtte van és te reá vársz!

Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.

Măcar că zici că nu-L vezi, totuşi pricina ta este înaintea Lui: aşteaptă-L!

How much less when you say that you do not see him, that the case is before him, and you are waiting for him!

Most pedig mivel még nem büntetett meg eléggé haragjában, és nem figyelt a nagy álnokságra,

Most pedig, mivel nem büntet haragja, és nem figyelmez a nagy álnokságra:

But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:

Dar pentru că mânia Lui nu pedepseşte încă, nu înseamnă că puţin Îi pasă de nelegiuire.

And now, because his anger does not punish, and he does not take much note of transgression,

Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.

Job opens his mouth in empty talk; he multiplies words without knowledge.”
