Hasznára van-e az ember Istennek? Mert önmagának bizonnyal használ az okos!

Az Istennek használ-é az ember? Sőt önmagának használ az okos!

Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?

„Poate un om să aducă vreun folos lui Dumnezeu? Nu; ci înţeleptul nu-şi foloseşte decât lui.

“Can a man be profitable to God? Surely he who is wise is profitable to himself.

Kedvére van-e a Mindenhatónak, ha te igaz vagy? Van-e nyeresége abból, hogy feddhetetlenül jársz?

Gyönyörűségére van-é az a Mindenhatónak, ha te igaz vagy; avagy nyereség-é, hogy feddhetetlenül jársz?

Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect?

Dacă eşti fără prihană, are Cel Atotputernic vreun folos? Şi dacă trăieşti fără vină, ce va câştiga El?

Is it any pleasure to the Almighty if you are in the right, or is it gain to him if you make your ways blameless?

Vagy talán istenfélelmedért ró meg téged, és azért perel veled?

A te [isteni] félelmedért fedd-é téged, és [azért] perel-é veled?

Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment?

Pentru evlavia ta te pedepseşte El oare şi intră la judecată cu tine?

Is it for your fear of him that he reproves you and enters into judgment with you?

Vajon nem sok-e a gonoszságod, és nem végtelen-e bűneid száma?

Avagy nem sok-é a te gonoszságod, és nem véghetetlen-é a te hamisságod?

Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite?

Nu-i mare răutatea ta? Şi fărădelegile tale fără număr?

Is not your evil abundant? There is no end to your iniquities.

Hiszen ok nélkül zálogot vettél testvéreidtől, és a szegényeket mezítelenné tetted.

Hiszen zálogot vettél a te atyádfiától méltatlanul, és a szegényeket mezítelenekké tetted.

For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.

Luai fără pricină zăloguri de la fraţii tăi, lăsai fără haine pe cei goi.

For you have exacted pledges of your brothers for nothing and stripped the naked of their clothing.

Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.

Nu dădeai apă omului însetat, nu voiai să dai pâine omului flămând.

You have given no water to the weary to drink, and you have withheld bread from the hungry.

A hatalmaskodóé lett az ország, és aki nagy tekintélyű, az lakik benne.

A ki hatalmas volt, azé vala az ország, és a ki nagytekintélyű volt, az lakik vala rajta.

But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it.

Ţara era a ta, fiindcă erai mai tare, te aşezai în ea, fiindcă erai cu vază.

The man with power possessed the land, and the favored man lived in it.

Az özvegyeket üres kézzel bocsátottad el, az árvák karjait eltörted.

Az özvegyeket üres kézzel bocsátottad el, és az árváknak karjai eltörettek.

Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.

Dădeai afară pe văduve cu mâinile goale, şi braţele orfanilor le frângeai.

You have sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless were crushed.

Ezért vett körül a veszedelem, és hirtelen rettegés riasztott meg;

Azért vett körül téged a veszedelem, és rettegtet téged hirtelen való rettegés;

Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee;

Pentru aceea eşti înconjurat de curse şi te-a apucat groaza dintr-o dată.

Therefore snares are all around you, and sudden terror overwhelms you,

vagy a sötétség, hogy ne láss, ahogy a vizek árja elborít!

Avagy a setétség, hogy ne láthass, és a vizek árja, a mely elborít!

Or darkness, that thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee.

Nu vezi dar acest întuneric, aceste ape multe care te năpădesc?

or darkness, so that you cannot see, and a flood of water covers you.

Hát nem olyan magasan van-e Isten, mint a menny? És lásd, mily magasan fénylenek fent a csillagok!

Hát nem olyan magas-é Isten, mint az egek? És lásd, a csillagok is ott fent mily igen magasak!

Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!

Nu este Dumnezeu sus în ceruri? Priveşte vârful stelelor, ce înalt este!

“Is not God high in the heavens? See the highest stars, how lofty they are!

Te mégis azt kérded: Mit tud az Isten; ítélkezhet-e a homály mögül?

És mégis azt mondod: Mit tud az Isten; megítélheti-é, a mi a homály mögött van?

And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?

Şi tu zici: „Ce ştie Dumnezeu? Poate să judece El prin întunericul de nori?

But you say, ‘What does God know? Can he judge through the deep darkness?

Sűrű felhők takarják el őt, és nem lát, az ég peremén járkál.

Sűrű felhők leplezik el őt és nem lát, és az ég körületén jár.

Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.

Îl înfăşoară norii, nu vede nimic, bolta cerească abia dacă o străbate!”

Thick clouds veil him, so that he does not see, and he walks on the vault of heaven.’

Követed-e az ősidők ösvényét, amelyen álnok emberek jártak,

Az ősvilág ösvényét követed-é, a melyen az álnok emberek jártak;

Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?

Ce! Vrei s-apuci pe calea străveche, pe care au urmat-o cei nelegiuiţi,

Will you keep to the old way that wicked men have trod?

akik idő előtt ragadtattak el, és alapjukat elmosta az ár?!

A kik időnap előtt ragadtattak el, és alapjokat elmosta a víz?!

Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood:

care au fost luaţi înainte de vreme şi au ţinut cât ţine un pârâu care se scurge?

They were snatched away before their time; their foundation was washed away.

Akik azt mondták Istennek: Távozzál el tőlünk; mit tehet velünk a Mindenható?

A kik azt mondják vala Istennek: Távozzál el tőlünk! És mit cselekedék velök a Mindenható?

Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them?

Ei ziceau lui Dumnezeu: „Pleacă de la noi! Ce ne poate face Cel Atotputernic?”

They said to God, ‘Depart from us,’ and ‘What can the Almighty do to us?’

Ő mégis megtöltötte házaikat javakkal. Az istentelenek tanácsa azért távol legyen tőlem!

Ő pedig megtöltötte házaikat jóval. De az istentelenek tanácsa távol legyen tőlem.

Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.

Şi totuşi Dumnezeu le umpluse casele de bunătăţi. – Departe de mine sfatul celor răi! –

Yet he filled their houses with good things— but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.

Látják ezt az igazak, és örülnek miatta, az ártatlan pedig így csúfolja őket:

Látják ezt az igazak és örülnek rajta, az ártatlan pedig csúfolja őket:

The righteous see it, and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn.

Cei fără prihană vor fi martori ai căderii lor şi se vor bucura, cel nevinovat va râde de ei

The righteous see it and are glad; the innocent one mocks at them,

Bizony, kigyomlálták ellenségeinket, és maradékukat tűz emészti meg!

Valósággal kigyomláltatott a mi ellenségünk, és az ő maradékjokat tűz emészti meg!

Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth.

şi va zice: „Iată pe potrivnicii noştri nimiciţi! Iată-le bogăţiile arse de foc!”

saying, ‘Surely our adversaries are cut off, and what they left the fire has consumed.’

Bízd magadat Istenre, és légy vele békességben, mert jó származik rád ebből.

Bízd csak azért magadat ő reá és légy békességben: ezekből jó származik reád.

Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.

Împrieteneşte-te dar cu Dumnezeu şi vei avea pace; te vei bucura astfel iarăşi de fericire.

“Agree with God, and be at peace; thereby good will come to you.

Fogadd el szájából az oktatást, és szívleld meg beszédeit!

Végy csak oktatást az ő szájából, és vésd szívedbe az ő beszédeit!

Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.

Primeşte învăţătură din gura Lui şi pune-ţi la inimă cuvintele Lui.

Receive instruction from his mouth, and lay up his words in your heart.

Ha megtérsz a Mindenhatóhoz, felépülsz, és az álnokságot messze elűzöd sátradtól.

Ha megtérsz a Mindenhatóhoz, megépíttetel, [és] az álnokságot távol űzöd a te sátorodtól.

If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.

Vei fi aşezat iarăşi la locul tău, dacă te vei întoarce la Cel Atotputernic, dacă depărtezi fărădelegea din cortul tău.

If you return to the Almighty you will be built up; if you remove injustice far from your tents,

Földbe tedd a nemesércet, és patakok kavicsa közé az ófíri aranyat:

Vesd a porba a nemes érczet, és a patakok kavicsába az ofiri aranyat:

Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.

Aruncă dar aurul în ţărână, aruncă aurul din Ofir în prundul pâraielor!

if you lay gold in the dust, and gold of Ophir among the stones of the torrent-bed,

mert akkor a Mindenható lesz nemesérced és ragyogó ezüstöd.

És akkor a Mindenható lesz a te nemes érczed és a te ragyogó ezüstöd.

Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.

Şi atunci Cel Atotputernic va fi aurul tău, argintul tău, bogăţia ta.

then the Almighty will be your gold and your precious silver.

Bizony, akkor a Mindenhatóban gyönyörködsz, és arcodat Istenhez emeled.

Bizony akkor a Mindenhatóban gyönyörködöl, és a te arczodat Istenhez emeled.

For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.

Atunci Cel Atotputernic va fi desfătarea ta şi îţi vei ridica faţa spre Dumnezeu.

For then you will delight yourself in the Almighty and lift up your face to God.

Hozzá könyörögsz, és ő meghallgat téged; te pedig megadod neki fogadalmaidat.

Hozzá könyörögsz és meghallgat téged, és lefizeted fogadásaidat.

Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.

Îl vei ruga, şi te va asculta, şi îţi vei putea împlini juruinţele.

You will make your prayer to him, and he will hear you, and you will pay your vows.

Mihelyt valamit elgondolsz, sikerül az neked, és utaidon világosság fénylik.

Mihelyt valamit elgondolsz, sikerül az néked, és a te utaidon világosság fénylik.

Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.

Pe ce vei pune mâna îţi va izbuti, pe cărările tale va străluci lumina.

You will decide on a matter, and it will be established for you, and light will shine on your ways.

Ha megaláztak, mondd azt fölmagasztalásnak, mert ha lesütöd szemed, megtart ő téged.

Hogyha megaláznak, felmagasztalásnak mondod azt, és ő az alázatost megtartja.

When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.

Vină smerirea, tu te vei ruga pentru ridicarea ta: Dumnezeu ajută pe cel cu ochii plecaţi.

For when they are humbled you say, ‘It is because of pride’; but he saves the lowly.

Még azt is megszabadítja, aki nem ártatlan, mert kezed tisztaságáért megszabadul.

Megszabadítja a nem ártatlant is, és pedig a te kezeidnek tisztaságáért szabadul meg az.

He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.

El va izbăvi chiar şi pe cel vinovat, care îşi va datora scăparea curăţiei mâinilor tale.”

He delivers even the one who is not innocent, who will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands.”
