Még most is keserű a panaszom; csak súlyosbodik rajtam keze, ahogy sóhajtozom.

Még most is keserű az én beszédem; súlyosabb rajtam a csapás, ha panaszkodom.

Even to day is my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning.

„Şi acum plângerea mea este tot o răzvrătire. Dar suferinţa îmi înăbuşe suspinele.

“Today also my complaint is bitter; my hand is heavy on account of my groaning.

Ó, ha tudnám, hol találom őt, elmennék a trónusáig.

Oh ha tudnám, hogy megtalálom őt, elmennék szinte az ő székéig.

Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!

Oh! Dacă aş şti unde să-L găsesc, dacă aş putea să ajung până la scaunul Lui de domnie,

Oh, that I knew where I might find him, that I might come even to his seat!

Eléje terjeszteném ügyemet, számat megtölteném mentő érvekkel,

Elébe terjeszteném ügyemet, számat megtölteném mentő erősségekkel.

I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.

mi-aş apăra pricina înaintea Lui, mi-aş umple gura cu dovezi.

I would lay my case before him and fill my mouth with arguments.

hogy megtudjam, mit felel nekem, és megértsem, mit szól hozzám.

Hadd tudnám meg, mely szavakkal felelne nékem; hadd érteném meg, mit szólana hozzám.

I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.

Aş şti ce poate să răspundă, aş vedea ce are să-mi spună.

I would know what he would answer me and understand what he would say to me.

Vajon teljes erejéből perelne velem? Nem, de azért figyelne rám.

Vajjon erejének nagy volta szerint perelne-é velem? Nem; csak figyelmezne reám!

Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me.

Şi-ar întrebuinţa El toată puterea ca să lupte împotriva mea? Nu; ci m-ar asculta negreşit.

Would he contend with me in the greatness of his power? No; he would pay attention to me.

Ott igaz emberként perelnék vele, ezért örökre megszabadulhatnék bírámtól.

Ott egy igaz perelne ő vele; azért megszabadulhatnék birámtól örökre!

There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge.

Doar un om fără prihană ar vorbi cu El, şi aş fi iertat pentru totdeauna de Judecătorul meu.

There an upright man could argue with him, and I would be acquitted forever by my judge.

Ám ha keletnek megyek, nincsen ott, és ha nyugat felé, nem veszem őt észre.

Ámde kelet felé megyek és nincsen ő, nyugot felé és nem veszem őt észre.

Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:

Dar, dacă mă duc la răsărit, nu este acolo; dacă mă duc la apus, nu-L găsesc:

“Behold, I go forward, but he is not there, and backward, but I do not perceive him;

Ha bal kéz felől cselekszik, meg nem láthatom; ha jobb kéz felől rejtőzködik, ott sem láthatom.

Bal kéz felől cselekszik, de meg nem foghatom; jobb kéz felől rejtőzködik és nem láthatom.

On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:

dacă are treabă la miazănoapte, nu-L pot vedea; dacă Se ascunde la miazăzi, nu-L pot descoperi.

on the left hand when he is working, I do not behold him; he turns to the right hand, but I do not see him.

De ő jól ismeri utamat. Ha megvizsgálna engem, úgy kerülnék ki, mint az arany.

De ő jól tudja az én utamat. Ha megvizsgálna engem, úgy kerülnék ki, mint az arany.

But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

Dar El ştie ce cale am urmat; şi, dacă m-ar încerca, aş ieşi curat ca aurul.

But he knows the way that I take; when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold.

Lábam az ő nyomdokát követte; útját megőriztem, és nem tértem le róla.

Lábam az ő nyomdokát követte; utát megőriztem és nem hajoltam el.

My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.

Piciorul meu s-a ţinut de paşii Lui; am ţinut calea Lui şi nu m-am abătut de la ea.

My foot has held fast to his steps; I have kept his way and have not turned aside.

Ajkának parancsától el nem távoztam; szája beszédeit törvényemként őrzöm.

Az ő ajakinak parancsolatától sem tértem el; szájának beszédeit többre becsültem, mint életem táplálékát.

Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

N-am părăsit poruncile buzelor Lui; mi-am plecat voia la cuvintele gurii Lui.

I have not departed from the commandment of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my portion of food.

De ő ugyanaz marad; kicsoda változtathatná meg? Amit lelke megkíván, azt meg is teszi.

Ő azonban [megmarad] egy mellett. Kicsoda téríthetné el őt? És a mit megkiván lelke, azt meg is teszi.

But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.

Dar hotărârea Lui este luată, cine I se va împotrivi? Ce-I doreşte sufletul, aceea face.

But he is unchangeable, and who can turn him back? What he desires, that he does.

Bizony, véghezviszi, amit elrendelt felőlem, és még sok ilyesmi van nála.

Bizony végbe viszi, a mi felőlem elrendeltetett, és ilyen még sok van ő nála.

For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.

El Îşi va împlini dar planurile faţă de mine şi va mai face şi multe altele.

For he will complete what he appoints for me, and many such things are in his mind.

Ezért rettegek színe előtt, és ha csak rá gondolok, félek tőle.

Azért rettegek az ő színe előtt, és ha csak rá gondolok is, félek tőle.

Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him.

De aceea tremur înaintea Lui, şi când mă gândesc la lucrul acesta, mă tem de El.

Therefore I am terrified at his presence; when I consider, I am in dread of him.

Mert Isten félemlítette meg szívemet, a Mindenható rettentett meg engem.

Mert Isten félemlítette meg az én szívemet, a Mindenható rettentett meg engem.

For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me:

Dumnezeu mi-a tăiat inima, Cel Atotputernic m-a umplut de groază.

God has made my heart faint; the Almighty has terrified me;

Mert nem a sötétség miatt némulok el, és nem azért, mert arcomat homály borítja.

Miért is nem pusztultam el e sötétség előtt, vagy miért nem takarta el előlem e homályt?!

Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he covered the darkness from my face.

Căci nu întunericul durerii mele mă nimiceşte, nici negura în care sunt înfăşurat.

yet I am not silenced because of the darkness, nor because thick darkness covers my face.
