No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.

Nekem is van annyi eszem, mint nektek, és nem vagyok alábbvaló nálatok. Ki ne tudna ilyesféléket?

But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: yea, who knoweth not such things as these?

Saját barátaim kikacagnak, pedig Istenhez kiáltok, és ő meghallgat engem. Mégis kikacagják az igazat és az ártatlant!

I am as one mocked of his neighbour, who calleth upon God, and he answereth him: the just upright man is laughed to scorn.

Eu sunt de batjocura prietenilor mei, când cer ajutorul lui Dumnezeu: dreptul, nevinovatul, de batjocură!

I am a laughingstock to my friends; I, who called to God and he answered me, a just and blameless man, am a laughingstock.

A szerencsétlen megvetendő, gondolja a jólétben élő; ez vár azokra, akiknek roskadozik a lábuk.

A szerencsétlen megvetni való, gondolja, a ki boldog; ez vár azokra, a kiknek lábok roskadoz.

He that is ready to slip with his feet is as a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease.

Dispreţ în nenorocire! – iată zicerea celor fericiţi: dă brânci cui alunecă cu piciorul!

In the thought of one who is at ease there is contempt for misfortune; it is ready for those whose feet slip.

A pusztítók sátrai nyugalomban vannak; biztonságban élnek, akik ingerlik Istent, és kezükben hordják istenüket.

A kóborlók sátrai csendesek és bátorságban vannak, a kik ingerlik az Istent, és a ki kezében hordja Istenét.

The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth abundantly.

Jefuitorilor li se lasă corturile în pace, celor ce mânie pe Dumnezeu le merge bine, măcar că dumnezeul lor este în pumn.

The tents of robbers are at peace, and those who provoke God are secure, who bring their god in their hand.

Kérdezd csak meg az állatokat, majd megtanítanak, és az ég madarait, azok is megmondják neked.

Egyébiránt kérdezd meg csak a barmokat, majd megtanítanak, és az égnek madarait, azok megmondják néked.

But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:

Întreabă dobitoacele, şi te vor învăţa, păsările cerului, şi îţi vor spune;

“But ask the beasts, and they will teach you; the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you;

Vagy beszélj a földdel, majd az is tanít téged, és a tenger halai is elbeszélik neked.

Avagy beszélj a földdel és az megtanít téged, a tengernek halai is elbeszélik néked.

Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.

vorbeşte pământului, şi te va învăţa; şi peştii mării îţi vor povesti.

or the bushes of the earth, and they will teach you; and the fish of the sea will declare to you.

Melyik nem tudja mindezek közül, hogy az ÚR keze tette mindezt?

Mindezek közül melyik nem tudja, hogy az Úrnak keze cselekszi ezt?

Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?

Cine nu vede în toate acestea dovada că mâna Domnului a făcut asemenea lucruri?

Who among all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this?

Kezében van minden élőlény élete és minden egyes ember lelke.

A kinek kezében van minden élő állatnak élete, és minden egyes embernek a lelke.

In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

El ţine în mână sufletul a tot ce trăieşte, suflarea oricărui trup omenesc.

In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.

Hát nem a fül vizsgálja-e meg a szavakat, és nem az íny kóstolja-e meg az ételt?

Nemde nem a fül próbálja-é meg a szót, és az íny kóstolja meg az ételt?

Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat?

Nu deosebeşte urechea cuvintele, cum gustă cerul gurii mâncărurile?

Does not the ear test words as the palate tastes food?

Az öregemberek bölcsek-e, és a hosszú élettel jár-e az értelem?

A vén emberekben van-é a bölcseség, és az értelem a hosszú életben-é?

With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.

La bătrâni se găseşte înţelepciunea, şi într-o viaţă lungă e priceperea.

Wisdom is with the aged, and understanding in length of days.

Őnála van a bölcsesség és a hatalom, övé a tanács és az értelem.

Ő nála van a bölcseség és hatalom, övé a tanács és az értelem.

With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding.

La Dumnezeu este înţelepciunea şi puterea; sfatul şi priceperea ale Lui sunt.

“With God are wisdom and might; he has counsel and understanding.

Íme, amit ő leront, az nem épül föl. Ha bezár valakit, az ki nem jut onnan.

Ímé, a mit leront, nem épül föl az; ha valakire rázárja [az ajtót,] nem nyílik föl az.

Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.

Ce dărâmă El, nu va fi zidit din nou; pe cine-l închide El, nimeni nu-l va scăpa.

If he tears down, none can rebuild; if he shuts a man in, none can open.

Ha elrekeszti a vizeket, kiszárad minden; ha kiereszti, felforgatják a földet.

Ímé, ha a vizeket elfogja, kiszáradnak; ha kibocsátja őket, felforgatják a földet.

Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.

El opreşte apele şi totul se usucă; El le dă drumul, şi pustiesc pământul.

If he withholds the waters, they dry up; if he sends them out, they overwhelm the land.

Őnála van az erő és a győzelem; övé a tévelygő és aki tévelygésbe visz.

Ő nála van az erő és okosság; övé az eltévelyedett és a ki tévelygésre visz.

With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are his.

El are puterea şi înţelepciunea; El stăpâneşte pe cel ce se rătăceşte sau rătăceşte pe alţii.

With him are strength and sound wisdom; the deceived and the deceiver are his.

Tanácsadókat tévútra visz, és bírákat tesz bolonddá.

A tanácsadókat fogságra viszi, és a birákat megbolondítja.

He leadeth counsellors away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools.

El ia robi pe sfetnici şi tulbură mintea judecătorilor.

He leads counselors away stripped, and judges he makes fools.

Királyok bilincseit nyitja meg, és övet köt a derekukra.

He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle.

El dezleagă legătura împăraţilor şi le pune o frânghie în jurul coapselor.

He looses the bonds of kings and binds a waistcloth on their hips.

He leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty.

El ia robi pe preoţi; El răstoarnă pe cei puternici.

He leads priests away stripped and overthrows the mighty.

A megbízhatóktól megvonja a szót, és a vénektől elveszi az ítélettételt.

Az ékesen szólótól eltávolítja a beszédet és a vénektől elveszi a tanácsot.

He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged.

El taie vorba celor meşteri la vorbă; El ia mintea celor bătrâni.

He deprives of speech those who are trusted and takes away the discernment of the elders.

Szégyent zúdít az előkelőkre, és a hatalmasok övét meglazítja.

He poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty.

El varsă dispreţul asupra celor mari; El dezleagă brâul celor tari.

He pours contempt on princes and loosens the belt of the strong.

Feltárja a sötét és mélységes titkokat, és a sűrű sötétséget is napvilágra hozza.

He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death.

El descoperă ce este ascuns în întuneric, El aduce la lumină umbra morţii.

He uncovers the deeps out of darkness and brings deep darkness to light.

Nemzeteket tesz naggyá, majd elveszíti őket; népeket terjeszt ki messzire, azután elűzi őket.

Nemzeteket növel fel, azután elveszíti őket; nemzeteket terjeszt ki messzire, azután elűzi őket.

He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them: he enlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them again.

El face pe neamuri să crească şi El le nimiceşte; El le întinde până departe şi El le aduce înapoi în hotarele lor.

He makes nations great, and he destroys them; he enlarges nations, and leads them away.

Elveszi a föld népe vezetőinek az eszét, és úttalan pusztában hagyja bujdosni őket.

Elveszi eszöket a föld népe vezetőinek, és úttalan pusztában bujdostatja őket.

He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.

El ia mintea căpeteniilor poporului, El îi face să rătăcească în pustiuri fără drum,

He takes away understanding from the chiefs of the people of the earth and makes them wander in a trackless waste.

Fény nélküli sötétben tapogatóznak, és hagyja, hogy tántorogjanak, mint a részegek.

És világtalan setétben tapogatóznak, és tántorognak, mint a részeg.

They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.
