Ha nincsenek eltitkolt idők a Mindenhatónál, miért nem látják meg az őt ismerők ítéletének napjait?

Miért is nem titkolja el a Mindenható az ő [büntetésének] idejét, és miért is nem látják meg az őt ismerők az ő [ítéletének] napjait?!

Why, seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his days?

Pentru ce nu păzeşte Cel Atotputernic vremurile de judecată şi de ce nu văd cei ce-L cunosc zilele Lui de pedeapsă?

“Why are not times of judgment kept by the Almighty, and why do those who know him never see his days?

Some remove the landmarks; they violently take away flocks, and feed thereof.

They turn the needy out of the way: the poor of the earth hide themselves together.

Mint a vadszamarak a sivatagban, úgy mennek ki, hogy munkájukkal élelmet keressenek; a puszta ad kenyeret fiaik számára.

Ímé, mint a vad szamarak a sivatagban, úgy mennek ki munkájukra élelmet keresni; a puszta ad nékik kenyeret fiaik számára.

Behold, as wild asses in the desert, go they forth to their work; rising betimes for a prey: the wilderness yieldeth food for them and for their children.

Şi aceştia, ca măgarii sălbatici din pustiu, ies dimineaţa la lucru să caute hrană, şi în pustiu trebuie să caute pâine pentru copiii lor.

Behold, like wild donkeys in the desert the poor go out to their toil, seeking game; the wasteland yields food for their children.

They reap every one his corn in the field: and they gather the vintage of the wicked.

They are wet with the rain of the mountains and cling to the rock for lack of shelter.

Which make oil within their walls, and tread their winepresses, and suffer thirst.

The murderer rises before it is light, that he may kill the poor and needy, and in the night he is like a thief.

A parázna szeme az alkonyatot lesi, és azt mondja: „Szem ne lásson engem!”; és arcára leplet borít.

The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me: and disguiseth his face.

For the morning is to them even as the shadow of death: if one know them, they are in the terrors of the shadow of death.

“You say, ‘Swift are they on the face of the waters; their portion is cursed in the land; no treader turns toward their vineyards.

Drought and heat consume the snow waters: so doth the grave those which have sinned.

Drought and heat snatch away the snow waters; so does Sheol those who have sinned.

Az anyaméh is elfelejti, férgeknek lesz csemegéje, nem emlékeznek rá többé, és az álnokság kitörik, mint a fa.

The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and wickedness shall be broken as a tree.

The womb forgets them; the worm finds them sweet; they are no longer remembered, so wickedness is broken like a tree.’

He evil entreateth the barren that beareth not: and doeth not good to the widow.

“They wrong the barren, childless woman, and do no good to the widow.

De Isten hosszabbítja meg erejével a hatalmas életét; és bár felkel az, már nem bízhat életében.

De megtámogatja erejével a hatalmasokat; felkel az, pedig nem bízott már az élethez.

He draweth also the mighty with his power: he riseth up, and no man is sure of life.

Şi totuşi Dumnezeu, prin puterea Lui, lungeşte zilele celor silnici, şi iată-i în picioare când nu mai trăgeau nădejde de viaţă;

Yet God prolongs the life of the mighty by his power; they rise up when they despair of life.

Biztonságot ad neki és támaszt, de szeme figyeli útjait.

Though it be given him to be in safety, whereon he resteth; yet his eyes are upon their ways.

El le dă linişte şi încredere, are privirile îndreptate spre căile lor.

He gives them security, and they are supported, and his eyes are upon their ways.

Magasra emelkednek, de egy kis idő, és már nincsenek! Alásüllyednek és elenyésznek, mint bárki más; és levágják őket, mint a búzakalászt.

They are exalted for a little while, but are gone and brought low; they are taken out of the way as all other, and cut off as the tops of the ears of corn.

S-au ridicat; şi într-o clipă nu mai sunt, cad, mor ca toţi oamenii, sunt tăiaţi ca spicele coapte.

They are exalted a little while, and then are gone; they are brought low and gathered up like all others; they are cut off like the heads of grain.

Hát nem így van? Ki hazudtolhatna meg engem, és ki tehetné semmivé beszédemet?

Avagy nem így van-é? Ki hazudtolhatna meg engem, és tehetné semmivé beszédemet?

And if it be not so now, who will make me a liar, and make my speech nothing worth?

Nu este aşa? Cine mă va dovedi de minciună, cine-mi va nimici cuvintele mele?”

If it is not so, who will prove me a liar and show that there is nothing in what I say?”
