Ó, bárcsak szétszakítanád az egeket, és leszállnál, hogy megrendüljenek előtted a hegyek! Ahogyan a tűz meggyújtja a rőzsét, és fölforralja a tűz a vizet, úgy jelentsd ki nevedet ellenségeidnek, hogy reszkessenek előtted a népek,

Oh, vajha megszakasztanád az egeket és leszállnál, előtted a hegyek elolvadnának; mint a tűz meggyújtja a rőzsét, a vizet a tűz felforralja; hogy nevedet ellenségidnek megjelentsd, hogy előtted reszkessenek a népek;

Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,

O! de ai despica cerurile şi Te-ai coborî, s-ar topi munţii înaintea Ta

Oh that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains might quake at your presence—

mint amikor rettenetes dolgokat cselekedtél, amelyeket nem vártunk; leszálltál, és a hegyek megrendültek előtted.

Hogy cselekednél rettenetes dolgokat, a miket nem vártunk; leszállnál és előtted a hegyek elolvadnának.

As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence!

ca de un foc care aprinde vreascurile, ca de un foc care face apa să dea în clocot! Ţi-ar cunoaşte atunci vrăjmaşii Numele şi ar tremura neamurile înaintea Ta!

as when fire kindles brushwood and the fire causes water to boil— to make your name known to your adversaries, and that the nations might tremble at your presence!

Kezdettől fogva soha senkinek nem jutott a fülébe, sem nem hallott, sem szemével nem látott más Istent kívüled, aki így cselekszik azzal, aki őt várja.

Hiszen öröktől fogva nem hallottak és fülökbe sem jutott, szem nem látott más Istent te kívüled, a ki így cselekszik azzal, a ki Őt várja.

When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.

Când ai făcut minuni la care nu ne aşteptam, Te-ai coborât, şi munţii s-au zguduit înaintea Ta

When you did awesome things that we did not look for, you came down, the mountains quaked at your presence.

Elébe mész annak, aki örvendezik, és igazságosan cselekszik, és rád gondol útjaidon. Íme, haragra gerjedtél, mert vétkeztünk. Régóta így vagyunk, bár megszabadulnánk!

Elébe mégy annak, a ki örvend és igazságot cselekszik, a kik útaidban rólad emlékeznek! Ímé, Te felgerjedtél, és mi vétkezénk; régóta így vagyunk; megtartatunk-é?

For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.

cum niciodată nu s-a pomenit, nici nu s-a auzit vorbindu-se şi cum nici n-a văzut vreodată ochiul aşa ceva: anume ca un alt dumnezeu afară de Tine să fi făcut asemenea lucruri pentru cei ce se încred în el.

From of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides you, who acts for those who wait for him.

Mindnyájan olyanok lettünk, mint a tisztátalanok, és minden igazságunk olyan, mint a beszennyezett ruha. Elhervadunk mindnyájan, mint a fa lombja, és álnokságaink, mint a szél, elsöpörnek bennünket!

És mi mindnyájan [olyanok] voltunk, mint a tisztátalan, és mint megfertéztetett ruha minden mi igazságaink, és elhervadánk, mint a falomb mindnyájan, és álnokságaink, mint a szél, hordának el bennünket!

Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou art wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be saved.

Tu ieşi înaintea celor ce împlinesc cu bucurie dreptatea, celor ce umblă în căile Tale şi îşi aduc aminte de Tine. Dar Te-ai mâniat, pentru că am păcătuit: vom suferi noi veşnic sau putem fi mântuiţi?

You meet him who joyfully works righteousness, those who remember you in your ways. Behold, you were angry, and we sinned; in our sins we have been a long time, and shall we be saved?

Nincs, aki segítségül hívná nevedet, aki fölserkenne, és beléd kapaszkodna, mert elrejtetted előlünk arcodat, és álnokságaink miatt megolvasztottál minket.

S nem volt, a ki segítségül hívta volna nevedet, a ki felserkenne és beléd fogóznék, mert orczádat elrejtéd tőlünk, és álnokságainkban minket megolvasztál.

But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Toţi am ajuns ca nişte necuraţi, şi toate faptele noastre bune sunt ca o haină mânjită. Toţi suntem ofiliţi ca o frunză, şi nelegiuirile noastre ne iau ca vântul.

We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.

És most, URam, Atyánk vagy te, mi vagyunk az agyag, te pedig formálónk, kezed munkája vagyunk mi mindnyájan.

Most pedig, Uram, Atyánk vagy Te, mi sár vagyunk és Te a mi alkotónk, és kezed munkája vagyunk mi mindnyájan.

And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.

Nu este nimeni care să cheme Numele Tău sau care să se trezească şi să se alipească de Tine: de aceea ne-ai ascuns faţa Ta şi ne laşi să pierim din pricina nelegiuirilor noastre.

There is no one who calls upon your name, who rouses himself to take hold of you; for you have hidden your face from us, and have made us melt in the hand of our iniquities.

Ne haragudj túlságosan, URam, és ne emlékezz örökké álnokságainkra! Íme, tekints ránk, mindnyájan a te néped vagyunk.

Oh ne haragudjál Uram felettébb, és ne mindörökké emlékezzél meg álnokságinkról; ímé lásd, kérünk, mindnyájan a Te néped vagyunk.

But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

Dar, Doamne, Tu eşti Tatăl nostru; noi suntem lutul, şi Tu, olarul care ne-ai întocmit: suntem cu toţii lucrarea mâinilor Tale.

But now, O LORD, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.

Szent városaid pusztává lettek: pusztasággá lett Sion, Jeruzsálem pedig kietlenné.

Szentségednek városai pusztává lettenek, Sion pusztává lőn, Jeruzsálem kietlenné.

Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people.

Nu Te mânia prea mult, Doamne, şi nu-Ţi aduce aminte în veci de nelegiuire! Priveşte, dar, spre noi, căci toţi suntem poporul Tău.

Be not so terribly angry, O LORD, and remember not iniquity forever. Behold, please look, we are all your people.

Szentséges és ékes házadat, ahol atyáink dicsértek téged, tűz perzselte föl. Minden elpusztult, amiben gyönyörködtünk.

Szentségünk és ékességünk házát, hol téged atyáink dicsértenek, tűz perzselé föl, és minden a miben gyönyörködénk, elpusztult.

Thy holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.

Cetăţile Tale cele sfinte sunt pustii; Sionul este pustiu, Ierusalimul, o pustietate!

Your holy cities have become a wilderness; Zion has become a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.

Hát még ezután is visszafogod magadat, URam? Hallgatsz, és így gyötörsz bennünket?

Hát megtartóztatod-é magad mind e mellett is, Uram; hallgatsz-é és gyötörsz minket felettébb?

Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste.

Casa noastră cea sfântă şi slăvită, în care părinţii noştri cântau laudele Tale, a ajuns pradă flăcărilor, şi tot ce aveam mai scump a fost pustiit.

Our holy and beautiful house, where our fathers praised you, has been burned by fire, and all our pleasant places have become ruins.

Wilt thou refrain thyself for these things, O LORD? wilt thou hold thy peace, and afflict us very sore?

După toate acestea, Te vei opri Tu, Doamne? Vei tăcea Tu oare şi ne vei întrista nespus de mult?
