Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.

Coboară-te şi şezi în ţărână, fecioară, fiica Babilonului; şezi pe pământ, fără scaun de domnie, fiica haldeilor; căci nu te vor mai numi subţirică şi plăcută.

Come down and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon; sit on the ground without a throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans! For you shall no more be called tender and delicate.

Vedd a kézimalmot, és őrölj lisztet! Fedd föl fátyladat, emeld föl a hosszú ruhát, fedd föl combodat, és úgy menj át a folyókon!

Vedd a malmot és őrölj lisztet, född fel fátyolodat, emeld föl a hosszú ruhát, född fel czombodat és menj át a folyókon.

Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.

Ia pietrele de moară şi macină făină; scoate-ţi marama, ridică-ţi poala rochiei, descoperă-ţi picioarele, treci râurile!

Take the millstones and grind flour, put off your veil, strip off your robe, uncover your legs, pass through the rivers.

Fölfedik mezítelenségedet, látható lesz szégyened! Bosszút állok, és nem kímélek senkit! –

Födöztessék föl meztelenséged és láttassék meg szemérmed; bosszút állok és embert nem kímélek!

Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man.

Goliciunea ţi se va descoperi, şi ţi se va vedea ruşinea. Mă voi răzbuna şi nu voi cruţa pe nimeni. –

Your nakedness shall be uncovered, and your disgrace shall be seen. I will take vengeance, and I will spare no one.

As for our redeemer, the LORD of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.

Răscumpărătorul nostru Se cheamă Domnul oştirilor, Sfântul lui Israel. –

Our Redeemer—the LORD of hosts is his name— is the Holy One of Israel.

Ülj csendben, és menj ki a sötétbe, káldeusok leánya, mert nem hívnak többé téged országok úrnőjének!

Ülj némán és menj a sötétre, te a Káldeusok leánya, mert nem hívnak többé téged országok úrnőjének!

Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called, The lady of kingdoms.

Şezi într-un colţ şi taci, fata haldeilor! Căci nu te vor mai numi împărăteasa împărăţiilor.

Sit in silence, and go into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans; for you shall no more be called the mistress of kingdoms.

Fölgerjedtem népem ellen, elvetettem örökségemet, és kezedbe adtam őket. Nem voltál irgalmas hozzájuk, az öregre nehéz igát vetettél!

Fölgerjedtem volt népem ellen; megfertőztettem örökségemet és kezedbe adtam azt: te nem cselekedtél velök irgalmasságot, az öregre nehéz igát vetettél!

I was wroth with my people, I have polluted mine inheritance, and given them into thine hand: thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.

Mă mâniasem pe poporul Meu, Îmi pângărisem moştenirea şi-i dădusem în mâinile tale: dar tu n-ai avut milă de ei, ci ţi-ai apăsat greu jugul asupra bătrânului.

I was angry with my people; I profaned my heritage; I gave them into your hand; you showed them no mercy; on the aged you made your yoke exceedingly heavy.

Azt gondoltad: Örökre úrnő maradok! Nem is gondoltál ezekre, és nem számoltál a végével.

És ezt mondád: Örökre úrnő leszek! úgy hogy ezekre nem is gondolál, és nem emlékeztél meg annak végéről.

And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.

Tu ziceai: „În veci voi fi împărăteasă!”, şi nu te-ai gândit, nici n-ai visat că lucrul acesta are să se sfârşească.

You said, “I shall be mistress forever,” so that you did not lay these things to heart or remember their end.

Most azért halld meg ezt, te bujálkodó, aki biztonságban laktál, és azt mondtad szívedben: Én vagyok, és nincs más kívülem, nem leszek özvegy, és nem ismerem meg a gyermektelenséget!

És most halld meg ezt, bujálkodó, a ki bátorságban ülsz, a ki ezt mondja szívében: Én vagyok és nincs senki több, nem ülök özvegységben, és a gyermektelenséget nem ismerem!

Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:

Ascultă însă acum, tu cea dedată plăcerilor, care stai fără grijă şi zici în inima ta: „Eu, şi numai eu, nu voi fi niciodată văduvă şi nu voi fi niciodată lipsită de copii!”

Now therefore hear this, you lover of pleasures, who sit securely, who say in your heart, “I am, and there is no one besides me; I shall not sit as a widow or know the loss of children”:

De mind a kettő eljön rád nagyon hamar, egyazon napon: teljes súlyával rád nehezedik a gyermektelenség és özvegység, hasztalan a sok varázslás és a sok igéző szó.

És mind e kettő eljő reád nagy hamar egy napon: gyermektelenség és özvegység, teljességökben jőnek el reád, noha gazdag vagy a varázslásban, és sok nagyon igéző szózatod.

But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments.

Şi totuşi aceste două lucruri ţi se vor întâmpla deodată, în aceeaşi zi: şi pierderea copiilor, şi văduvia; vor cădea asupra ta cu putere mare, în ciuda tuturor vrăjitoriilor tale şi multelor tale descântece.

These two things shall come to you in a moment, in one day; the loss of children and widowhood shall come upon you in full measure, in spite of your many sorceries and the great power of your enchantments.

Gonoszságodban bíztál, és azt gondoltad: Nem lát senki engem! Bölcsességed és tudományod csalt meg téged, mert azt gondoltad szívedben: Én vagyok, és rajtam kívül nincs más!

Gonoszságodban bíztál, és ezt mondád: Nem lát senki engem! Bölcseséged és tudományod csalt meg téged, és ezt mondád szívedben: Én vagyok és nincs senki több.

For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me.

Căci te încredeai în răutatea ta şi ziceai: „Nimeni nu mă vede!” Înţelepciunea şi ştiinţa ta te-au amăgit, de ziceai în inima ta: „Eu şi numai eu.”

You felt secure in your wickedness; you said, “No one sees me”; your wisdom and your knowledge led you astray, and you said in your heart, “I am, and there is no one besides me.”

Ezért eljön rád a gonosz, amely ellen nem tudsz ellenszert, és romlással sújt le rád, amelyet ki nem engesztelhetsz. Hirtelen jön rád a pusztulás, nem is tudod, mikor.

Azért jő te reád a gonosz, a melynek keletkezését nem tudod, és romlás sújt le rád, a melyet meg nem engesztelhetsz, és hirtelen jő pusztulás reád, nem is tudod!

Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know.

De aceea, nenorocirea va veni peste tine fără să-i vezi zorile; urgia va cădea peste tine fără s-o poţi împăca; şi deodată va veni peste tine prăpădul pe neaşteptate.

But evil shall come upon you, which you will not know how to charm away; disaster shall fall upon you, for which you will not be able to atone; and ruin shall come upon you suddenly, of which you know nothing.

Állj hát elő igéző szózataiddal és varázslatod sokaságával, amellyel ifjúságodtól fogva vesződtél; talán segíthetsz valamit, talán elriaszthatod a veszedelmet!

No állj elő hát igéző szózatiddal és varázslásodnak sokaságával, a melyekkel ifjúságodtól fogva vesződtél, talán segíthetsz valamit, talán visszariaszthatod [a veszedelmet.]

Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.

Vino, dar, cu descântecele tale şi cu mulţimea vrăjitoriilor tale, cărora ţi-ai închinat munca din tinereţe; poate că vei putea să tragi vreun folos din ele, poate că vei izbuti.

Stand fast in your enchantments and your many sorceries, with which you have labored from your youth; perhaps you may be able to succeed; perhaps you may inspire terror.

Belefáradtál tanácsaid sokaságába. Nos, álljanak elő és mentsenek meg az ég vizsgálói, akik a csillagokat nézik, akik újhold napján előre megmondják, hogy mi következik rád!

Tanácsaid sokaságában megfáradtál; no álljanak elő és tartsanak meg az égnek vizsgálói, a kik a csillagokat nézik, a kik megjelentik az újholdak napján, hogy mi jövend reád.

Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.

Te-ai obosit tot întrebând; să se scoale dar şi să te scape cei ce împart cerul, care pândesc stelele, care vestesc, după lunile noi, ce are să ţi se întâmple!

You are wearied with your many counsels; let them stand forth and save you, those who divide the heavens, who gaze at the stars, who at the new moons make known what shall come upon you.

Íme, olyanok lesznek, mint a tarló, tűz emészti meg őket, nem mentik meg életüket a lángból, még parázs sem marad belőlük melegedéshez, sem tűz, amit körül lehet ülni!

Ímé, olyanok lettek, mint a polyva, tűz emészté meg őket, nem mentik meg életöket a lángból, még szén sem marad belőlök melegülésre, sem körülülhető parázs!

Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.

Iată-i, au ajuns ca miriştea pe care o arde focul şi nu-şi vor scăpa viaţa din flăcări: căci nu va fi ca un cărbune la care se încălzeşte cineva, nici un foc la care stă.

Behold, they are like stubble; the fire consumes them; they cannot deliver themselves from the power of the flame. No coal for warming oneself is this, no fire to sit before!

Így jársz majd azokkal, akikkel vesződtél, és akikkel ifjúságodtól fogva kereskedtél. Elfutnak, mindegyik a maga útján, nem segít neked senki!

Így járnak azok, a kikkel vesződtél; és a kik kereskedő társaid voltak ifjúságodtól fogva, futnak, kiki a maga útján; senki nem segít néked!

Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured, even thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee.

Aşa va fi soarta acelora pe care te oboseai să-i întrebi. Şi cei cu care ai făcut negoţ din tinereţea ta se vor risipi fiecare într-o parte: şi nu va fi nimeni care să-ţi vină în ajutor.

Such to you are those with whom you have labored, who have done business with you from your youth; they wander about, each in his own direction; there is no one to save you.
