Lemúél király beszédei, prófécia, melyre anyja tanította.

Lemuel király beszédei, próféczia, melylyel tanította vala őt az anyja.

The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.

Cuvintele împăratului Lemuel. Învăţătura pe care i-o dădea mama sa.

The words of King Lemuel. An oracle that his mother taught him:

Mit mondjak, fiam, méhem gyermeke, fogadalmam fia?

Mit [szóljak,] fiam? mit, én méhem gyermeke? mit, én fogadásimnak gyermeke?

What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?

Ce să-ţi spun, fiule? Ce să-ţi spun fiul trupului meu? Ce să-ţi spun, fiule, rodul juruinţelor mele?

What are you doing, my son? What are you doing, son of my womb? What are you doing, son of my vows?

Erődet ne add az asszonyoknak, és útjaidat a királyok vesztére törőknek.

Ne add asszonyoknak a te erődet, és a te útaidat a királyok eltörlőinek.

Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

Nu-ţi da femeilor vlaga, şi dezmierdările tale celor ce pierd pe împăraţi.

Do not give your strength to women, your ways to those who destroy kings.

Távol legyen a királyoktól, ó, Lemúél, távol legyen a királyoktól a borivás és az uralkodóktól a részegítő ital kívánása.

Távol legyen a királyoktól, oh Lemuel, távol legyen a királyoktól a bornak itala; és az uralkodóktól a részegítő ital keresése.

It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:

Nu se cade împăraţilor, Lemuele, nu se cade împăraţilor să bea vin, nici voievozilor să umble după băuturi tari;

It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, or for rulers to take strong drink,

Mert amikor iszik, elfelejtkezik a törvényekről, és elferdíti a nyomorult igazságát.

Hogy mikor iszik, el ne felejtkezzék a törvényről, és el ne fordítsa valamely nyomorultnak igazságát.

Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

ca nu cumva, bând, să uite Legea şi să calce drepturile tuturor celor nenorociţi.

lest they drink and forget what has been decreed and pervert the rights of all the afflicted.

Adjátok a részegítő italt a veszendőnek és a bort a megkeseredett szívűeknek!

Adjátok a részegítő italt az elveszendőnek, és a bort a keseredett szívűeknek.

Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.

Daţi băuturi tari celui ce piere, şi vin, celui cu sufletul amărât;

Give strong drink to the one who is perishing, and wine to those in bitter distress;

Igyék, hogy megfeledkezzék szegénységéről, és nyavalyájára ne emlékezzék többé.

Igyék, hogy felejtkezzék az ő szegénységéről, és az ő nyavalyájáról ne emlékezzék meg többé.

Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.

ca să bea să-şi uite sărăcia şi să nu-şi mai aducă aminte de necazurile lui. –

let them drink and forget their poverty and remember their misery no more.

Nyisd meg szádat a némáért és azokért, akik veszedelemben vannak.

Nyisd meg a te szádat a mellett, a ki néma, és azoknak dolgában, a kik adattak veszedelemre.

Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

Deschide-ţi gura pentru cel mut, pentru pricina tuturor celor părăsiţi!

Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute.

Nyisd meg szádat, igazságosan ítélj, és képviseld a szegény és szűkölködő ügyét!

Nyisd meg a te szádat, ítélj igazságot; forgasd ügyét a szegénynek és a szűkölködőnek!

Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

Deschide-ţi gura, judecă cu dreptate şi apără pe cel nenorocit şi pe cel lipsit.

Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.

Derék asszonyt kicsoda találhat? Értéke fölülmúlja az igazgyöngyét.

Derék asszonyt kicsoda találhat? Mert ennek ára sokkal felülhaladja az igazgyöngyöket.

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

Cine poate găsi o femeie cinstită? Ea este mai de preţ decât mărgăritarele.

An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.

Bízik benne férjének szíve, és vagyona nem fogy el.

Bízik ahhoz az ő férjének lelke, és annak marhája el nem fogy.

The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

Inima bărbatului se încrede în ea, şi nu duce lipsă de venituri.

The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain.

Javát keresi, nem pedig a kárát élete minden napján.

Jóval illeti őt és nem gonosszal, az ő életének minden napjaiban.

She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.

Előteremti a gyapjút vagy a lent, és jókedvűen dolgozik keze.

Keres gyapjat vagy lent, és megkészíti azokat kezeivel kedvvel.

She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

Ea face rost de lână şi de in şi lucrează cu mâini harnice.

She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands.

Hasonló a kereskedők hajóihoz, jó messziről is elhozza az eledelt.

She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

Ea este ca o corabie de negoţ; de departe îşi aduce pâinea.

She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar.

Fölkel még éjjel, enni ad háza népének, és szolgálóleányainak is a maguk részét.

Felkel még éjjel, eledelt ád az ő házának, és rendel ételt az ő szolgálóleányinak.

She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

Ea se scoală când este încă noapte şi dă hrană casei sale şi împarte lucrul de peste zi slujnicelor sale.

She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household and portions for her maidens.

Mező után néz, és megveszi, keze munkájával szőlőt ültet.

Gondolkodik mező felől, és megveszi azt; az ő kezeinek munkájából szőlőt plántál.

She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

Derekát erővel övezi föl, és megerősíti karjait.

Az ő derekát felövezi erővel, és megerősíti karjait.

She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

Ea îşi încinge mijlocul cu putere şi îşi oţeleşte braţele.

She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong.

Látja, hogy hasznos a munkája, éjjel sem alszik el lámpása.

Látja, hogy hasznos az ő munkálkodása; éjjel sem alszik el az ő világa.

She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

Vede că munca îi merge bine, lumina ei nu se stinge noaptea.

She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out at night.

She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

Gyolcsot sző és eladja, és övet is ad el a kereskedőnek.

She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

Erő és ékesség a ruhája; vidáman néz a holnap elé.

Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

Vigyáz háza népe dolgaira, és nem eszi a lustaság kenyerét.

She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

Ea veghează asupra celor ce se petrec în casa ei, şi nu mănâncă pâinea lenevirii.

She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Fölkelnek a fiai, és boldognak mondják, férje is dicséri őt:

Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

Sok leány végez derék munkát, de te felülmúlod mindnyájukat!

Sok leány munkálkodott serénységgel; de te meghaladod mindazokat!

Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

„Multe fete au o purtare cinstită, dar tu le întreci pe toate.”

“Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”

Csalárd a kedvesség és hiábavaló a szépség, de az URat félő asszony dicséretet szerez magának!

Csalárd a kedvesség, és hiábavaló a szépség; a mely asszony féli az Urat, az szerez dicséretet magának!

Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Dezmierdările sunt înşelătoare, şi frumuseţea este deşartă, dar femeia care se teme de Domnul va fi lăudată.

Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Ismerjétek el keze munkájának gyümölcsét, és tettei dicsérjék őt a kapukban.

Adjatok ennek az ő keze munkájának gyümölcséből, és dicsérjék őt a kapukban az ő cselekedetei!

Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
