Fiam, tartsd meg beszédeimet, és parancsaimat zárd magadba!

Fiam, tartsd meg az én beszédeimet, és az én parancsolataimat rejtsd el magadnál.

My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.

Tartsd meg parancsolataimat, és élni fogsz, és őrizd tanításomat, mint szemed fényét.

Az én parancsolatimat tartsd meg, és élsz; és az én tanításomat mint a szemed fényét.

Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

Ţine sfaturile mele şi vei trăi; păzeşte învăţăturile mele ca lumina ochilor.

Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

Mondd a bölcsességnek: „Néném vagy te”, és az eszességet hívd rokonodnak,

Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:

Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” and call insight your intimate friend,

és láttam a bolondok között, észrevettem a fiatalok között egy esztelen ifjút.

And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

Am zărit printre cei neîncercaţi, am văzut printre tineri pe un băiat fără minte.

and I have seen among the simple, I have perceived among the youths, a young man lacking sense,

Az utcán ment, befordult a sarkon, egy asszony házához vezető úton lépegetett

Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,

És íme, az asszony eléje lépett a paráznák öltözetében, csalfa szívvel.

És ímé, egy asszony eleibe jő, paráznának öltözetében, álnok az ő elméjében.

And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.

Şi iată că i-a alergat înainte o femeie îmbrăcată ca o curvă şi cu inima şireată.

And behold, the woman meets him, dressed as a prostitute, wily of heart.

Csapodár és féktelen, lába sem tud otthon nyugodni.

Mely csélcsap és vakmerő, a kinek házában nem maradhatnak meg az ő lábai.

(She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:

Era bună de gură şi fără astâmpăr; picioarele nu-i puteau sta acasă:

She is loud and wayward; her feet do not stay at home;

Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)

Megragadta őt, megcsókolta, és szemtelenségre vetemedve azt mondta neki:

So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,

She seizes him and kisses him, and with bold face she says to him,

Ezért jöttem ki eléd, nagyon kerestelek téged, és most rád találtam!

Azért jövék ki elődbe, szorgalmatosan keresni a te orczádat, és reád találtam!

Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

De aceea ţi-am ieşit înainte să te caut, şi te-am şi găsit.

so now I have come out to meet you, to seek you eagerly, and I have found you.

I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.

I have spread my couch with coverings, colored linens from Egyptian linen;

Ágyamat mirhával, aloéval és fahéjjal illatosítottam.

I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

Jöjj, töltsük az időt szerelmeskedéssel virradatig, élvezzük ki a szerelem gyönyörét!

No foglaljuk magunkat bőségesen mind virradtig a szeretetben; vígadjunk szerelmeskedésekkel.

Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.

Vino, să ne îmbătăm de dragoste până dimineaţă, să ne desfătăm cu dezmierdări.

Come, let us take our fill of love till morning; let us delight ourselves with love.

Mert nincs itthon a férjem, messzi útra ment.

For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:

He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.

a luat cu el sacul cu bani şi nu se va întoarce acasă decât la luna nouă.”

És rávette őt mesterkedéseivel, hízelgő ajkával elcsábította.

[És] elhiteté őt az ő mesterkedéseinek sokaságával, ajkainak hizelkedésével elragadá őt.

With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

Tot vorbindu-i, ea l-a ademenit şi l-a atras cu buzele ei ademenitoare.

With much seductive speech she persuades him; with her smooth talk she compels him.

Az pedig úgy ment utána, mint az ökör a vágóhídra, mint a bolond, aki csapdába szalad,

Utána megy; mint az ökör a vágóhídra, és mint a bolond, egyszer csak fenyítő békóba;

He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

All at once he follows her, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a stag is caught fast

míg nyíl nem fúrja át a máját; vagy mint a madár, amely a kelepcébe siet, és nem tudja, hogy az életével játszik.

Mígnem átjárja a nyíl az ő máját. Miképen siet a madár a tőrre, és nem tudja, hogy az az ő élete ellen van.

Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.

ca pasărea care dă buzna în laţ, fără să ştie că o va costa viaţa, până ce săgeata îi străpunge ficatul.

till an arrow pierces its liver; as a bird rushes into a snare; he does not know that it will cost him his life.

Ezért most, fiaim, hallgassatok rám, és figyeljetek szám beszédére!

Annakokáért most, fiaim, hallgassatok engem, és figyelmezzetek az én számnak beszédeire.

Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.

Şi acum, fiilor, ascultaţi-mă şi luaţi aminte la cuvintele gurii mele.

And now, O sons, listen to me, and be attentive to the words of my mouth.

Ne hajoljon szíved az ilyen nő útjai felé, és ne tévelyegj az ösvényein!

Ne hajoljon annak útaira a te elméd, és ne tévelyegj annak ösvényin.

Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

Să nu ţi se abată inima spre calea unei asemenea femei, nu te rătăci pe cărările ei.

Let not your heart turn aside to her ways; do not stray into her paths,

Mert sok sebesültet ejtett már, és sokan vannak, akiket megölt.

Mert sok sebesültet elejtett, és sokan vannak, a kik attól megölettek.

For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.

Căci ea a făcut să cadă multe jertfe şi mulţi sunt cei pe care i-a ucis ea.

for many a victim has she laid low, and all her slain are a mighty throng.

Háza sírba vivő út, amely a halál hajlékába vezet.

Sírba vívő út az ő háza, a mely levisz a halálnak hajlékába.

Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

Casa ei este drumul spre Locuinţa morţilor, drumul care coboară spre locaşurile morţii.

Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the chambers of death.
