Vajon nem kiált-e a bölcsesség, és nem hallatja-e szavát az értelem?

Avagy a bölcsesség nem kiált-é, és az értelem nem bocsátja-é ki az ő szavát?

Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?

Nu strigă înţelepciunea şi nu-şi înalţă priceperea glasul?

Does not wisdom call? Does not understanding raise her voice?

Kiáll a magaslatok csúcsára, az ösvényekhez, a keresztutakhoz.

A magas helyeknek tetein az úton, sok ösvény összetalálkozásánál áll meg.

She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.

Ea se aşază sus pe înălţimi, afară pe drum, la răspântii,

On the heights beside the way, at the crossroads she takes her stand;

A városba vezető kapuk mellett, az ajtók bejáratánál zeng.

A kapuk mellett a városnak bemenetelin, az ajtók bemenetelinél zeng.

She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.

şi strigă lângă porţi, la intrarea cetăţii, la intrarea porţilor:

beside the gates in front of the town, at the entrance of the portals she cries aloud:

Nektek kiáltok, férfiak, szavam az emberek fiaihoz szól.

Tinéktek kiáltok, férfiak; és az én szóm az emberek fiaihoz [van!]

Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.

„Oamenilor, către voi strig, şi spre fiii oamenilor se îndreaptă glasul meu.

“To you, O men, I call, and my cry is to the children of man.

Okosodjatok, ti együgyűek, és ti balgák, legyetek értelmesek!

Értsétek meg ti együgyűek az eszességet, és ti balgatagok vegyétek eszetekbe az értelmet.

O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.

Învăţaţi-vă minte, proştilor, şi înţelepţiţi-vă, nebunilor!

O simple ones, learn prudence; O fools, learn sense.

Hallgassatok meg, mert fontos dolgokat mondok, és igaz beszédre nyitom számat.

Halljátok meg; mert jeles dolgokat szólok és az én számnak felnyitása igazság.

Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.

Ascultaţi, căci am lucruri mari de spus, şi buzele mi se deschid ca să înveţe pe alţii ce este drept.

Hear, for I will speak noble things, and from my lips will come what is right,

Mert igazságot mond ki szám, és ajkamnak utálatos a gonoszság.

Mert igazságot mond ki az én ínyem, és útálat az én ajkaimnak a gonoszság.

For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

Căci gura mea vesteşte adevărul, şi buzele mele urăsc minciuna!

for my mouth will utter truth; wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

Szám minden beszéde igaz, nincs benne hamis vagy csalárd dolog.

Igaz én számnak minden beszéde, semmi sincs ezekben hamis, vagy elfordult dolog.

All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.

Toate cuvintele gurii mele sunt drepte, n-au nimic neadevărat, nici sucit în ele.

All the words of my mouth are righteous; there is nothing twisted or crooked in them.

Mind helyénvaló az értelmesnek, és igaz azoknak, akik járatosak a tudományban.

Mind egyenesek az értelmesnek, és igazak azoknak, kik megnyerték a tudományt.

They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.

Toate sunt lămurite pentru cel priceput şi drepte pentru cei ce au găsit ştiinţa.

They are all straight to him who understands, and right to those who find knowledge.

Inkább az én tanításomat válasszátok, ne pedig az ezüstöt! A tudományt válasszátok inkább, mint a színaranyat!

Vegyétek az én tanításomat, és nem a pénzt; és a tudományt inkább, mint a választott aranyat.

Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.

Primiţi mai degrabă învăţăturile mele decât argintul, şi mai degrabă ştiinţa decât aurul scump.

Take my instruction instead of silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold,

Mert jobb a bölcsesség a drágagyöngyöknél, és semmiféle gyönyörűség sem lehet ezzel egyenlő.

For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

Căci înţelepciunea preţuieşte mai mult decât mărgăritarele, şi niciun lucru de preţ nu se poate asemui cu ea.

for wisdom is better than jewels, and all that you may desire cannot compare with her.

Én, a bölcsesség együtt lakom az eszességgel, és megszereztem a megfontolás tudományát.

I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.

Eu, Înţelepciunea, am ca locuinţă mintea şi pot născoci cele mai chibzuite planuri.

“I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, and I find knowledge and discretion.

Az ÚR félelme a gonosz gyűlölése. A kevélységet és fölfuvalkodottságot, a gonoszság útját és az álnok szájat gyűlölöm.

Az Úrnak félelme a gonosznak gyűlölése; a kevélységet és felfuvalkodást és a gonosz útat, és az álnok szájat gyűlölöm.

The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Frica de Domnul este urârea răului; trufia şi mândria, purtarea rea şi gura mincinoasă, iată ce urăsc eu.

The fear of the LORD is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.

Enyém a tanács és az igazi bölcsesség, én vagyok az értelem, enyém az erő.

Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.

De la mine vine sfatul şi izbânda, eu sunt priceperea, a mea este puterea.

I have counsel and sound wisdom; I have insight; I have strength.

Általam uralkodnak a királyok, és tesznek igazságot az uralkodók.

Én általam uralkodnak a királyok, és az uralkodók végeznek igazságot.

By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.

Prin mine împărăţesc împăraţii şi dau voievozii porunci drepte.

By me kings reign, and rulers decree what is just;

By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.

I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

Gyümölcsöm jobb, mint az arany, drágább a színaranynál, és a jövedelmem többet ér a színezüstnél.

My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.

Az igazság útján járok, az igazság ösvényének közepén,

I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:

The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

Ages ago I was set up, at the first, before the beginning of the earth.

Akkor születtem, amikor még nem voltak mélységek, mikor még semmiféle vízzel teli forrás nem volt.

Még mikor semmi mélységek nem voltak, születtem vala; még mikor semmi források, vízzel teljesek nem voltak.

When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.

Am fost născută când încă nu erau adâncuri, nici izvoare încărcate cu ape;

When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water.

Mielőtt a hegyek leülepedtek, a halmok előtt születtem.

Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:

Ott voltam, amikor az eget készítette, amikor a látóhatárt a mélység fölött kijelölte.

Mikor készíté az eget, ott valék; mikor felveté a mélységek színén a kerekséget;

When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:

When he established the heavens, I was there; when he drew a circle on the face of the deep,

Mikor megszilárdította a felhőket odafönn, amikor erőre kaptak a mélység forrásai.

Mikor megerősíté a felhőket ott fenn, mikor erősekké lőnek a mélységeknek forrásai;

When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:

când a pironit norii sus şi când au ţâşnit cu putere izvoarele adâncului,

when he made firm the skies above, when he established the fountains of the deep,

Mikor megszabta a tenger határait, hogy a vizek át ne hágják parancsát. Mikor kimérte e föld alapjait,

Mikor felveté a tengernek határit, hogy a vizek át ne hágják az ő parancsolatját, mikor megállapítá e földnek fundamentomait:

When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

când a pus un hotar mării, ca apele să nu treacă peste porunca Lui, când a pus temeliile pământului,

when he assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters might not transgress his command, when he marked out the foundations of the earth,

mellette voltam mint kézműves. Gyönyörködött bennem mindennap, mindig ott játszottam színe előtt.

Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;

Játszottam a földkerekségen, és gyönyörűségemet leltem az emberek fiaiban.

Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

És most, fiaim, hallgassatok engem: boldogok, akik megtartják útjaimat.

És most fiaim, hallgassatok engemet, és boldogok, a kik az én útaimat megtartják.

Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.

Şi acum, fiilor, ascultaţi-mă, căci ferice de cei ce păzesc căile mele!

“And now, O sons, listen to me: blessed are those who keep my ways.

Hallgassátok meg az intést, és legyetek bölcsek, ne vonakodjatok!

Hallgassátok a tudományt és legyetek bölcsek, és magatokat el ne vonjátok!

Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.

Ascultaţi învăţătura, ca să vă faceţi înţelepţi, şi nu lepădaţi sfatul meu.

Hear instruction and be wise, and do not neglect it.

Boldog ember, aki hallgat engem, aki ajtóm előtt virraszt mindennap, és ajtófélfáimat őrzi.

Boldog ember, a ki hallgat engem, az én ajtóm előtt virrasztván minden nap, az én ajtóim félfáit őrizvén.

Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

Ferice de omul care m-ascultă, care veghează zilnic la porţile mele şi păzeşte pragul uşii mele.

Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors.

Mert aki engem megtalál, az életet nyer, és jóakaratot szerez az ÚRtól.

Mert a ki megnyer engem, nyert életet, és szerzett az Úrtól jóakaratot.

For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.

Căci cel ce mă găseşte, găseşte viaţa şi capătă bunăvoinţa Domnului.

For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the LORD,

De aki vétkezik ellenem, erőszakot cselekszik a lelkén. Mindenki, aki gyűlöl engem, a halált szereti!

But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

but he who fails to find me injures himself; all who hate me love death.”
