Az emberé a szív gondolata, de az ÚRtól van a nyelv felelete.

Az embernél vannak az elme gondolatjai; de az Úrtól van a nyelv felelete.

The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.

Planurile pe care le face inima atârnă de om, dar răspunsul pe care-l dă gura vine de la Domnul. –

The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.

Minden útja tiszta az embernek a maga szemében, de az ÚR a lelkeket vizsgálja.

Minden útai tiszták az embernek a maga szemei előtt; de a ki a lelkeket vizsgálja, az Úr az!

All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.

Toate căile omului sunt curate în ochii lui, dar cel ce cercetează duhurile este Domnul. –

All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the spirit.

Bízzad az ÚRra dolgaidat, és teljesülnek szándékaid!

Bízzad az Úrra a te dolgaidat; és a te gondolatid véghez mennek.

Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

Încredinţează-ţi lucrările în mâna Domnului şi îţi vor izbuti planurile. –

Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established.

Mindent rendeltetése szerint alkotott az ÚR, az istentelent is az ítélet napjára.

Mindent teremtett az Úr az ő maga czéljára; az istentelent is a büntetésnek napjára.

The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

Domnul a făcut toate pentru o ţintă, chiar şi pe cel rău pentru ziua nenorocirii. –

The LORD has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.

Utálatos az ÚR előtt mind, aki szívében fölfuvalkodott; kezemet adom rá, hogy nem marad büntetlen.

Útálatos az Úrnak minden, a ki elméjében felfuvalkodott, kezemet adom rá, hogy nem marad büntetetlen.

Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

Orice inimă trufaşă este o scârbă înaintea Domnului; hotărât, ea nu va rămâne nepedepsită. –

Everyone who is arrogant in heart is an abomination to the LORD; be assured, he will not go unpunished.

Könyörület és hűség törli el a bűnt, és az ÚR félelme távol tart a gonosztól.

Könyörületességgel és igazsággal töröltetik el a bűn; és az Úrnak félelme által távozhatunk el a gonosztól.

By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

Prin dragoste şi credincioşie omul ispăşeşte nelegiuirea, şi prin frica de Domnul se abate de la rău. –

By steadfast love and faithfulness iniquity is atoned for, and by the fear of the LORD one turns away from evil.

Akinek útjaira jóindulattal tekint az ÚR, annak még az ellenségeit is a jóakaróivá teszi.

Mikor jóakarattal van az Úr valakinek útaihoz, még annak ellenségeit is jóakaróivá teszi.

When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Când sunt plăcute Domnului căile cuiva, îi face prieteni chiar şi pe vrăjmaşii lui. –

When a man’s ways please the LORD, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Jobb az igazság útján szerzett kevés, mint a hamissággal szerzett gazdag jövedelem.

Jobb a kevés igazsággal, mint a gazdag jövedelem hamissággal.

Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.

Mai bine puţin, cu dreptate, decât mari venituri, cu strâmbătate. –

Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues with injustice.

Az ember elméje terveli ki útját, de az ÚR igazgatja annak járását.

Az embernek elméje gondolja meg az ő útát; de az Úr igazgatja annak járását.

A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

Inima omului se gândeşte pe ce cale să meargă, dar Domnul îi îndreaptă paşii. –

The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.

Kinyilatkoztatást mond a király ajka, az ítélethozatalkor se szóljon hamisságot a szája.

Jósige van a király ajkain; az ítéletben ne szóljon hamisságot az ő szája.

A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresseth not in judgment.

Hotărâri dumnezeieşti sunt pe buzele împăratului, gura lui nu trebuie să facă greşeli când judecă. –

An oracle is on the lips of a king; his mouth does not sin in judgment.

Az ÚRé az igaz mérték és mérőserpenyő, az ő műve minden mérősúly.

Az Úré az igaz mérték és mérőserpenyő, az ő műve minden mérőkő.

A just weight and balance are the LORD's: all the weights of the bag are his work.

Cântarul şi cumpăna dreaptă vin de la Domnul; toate greutăţile de cântărit sunt lucrarea Lui. –

A just balance and scales are the LORD’s; all the weights in the bag are his work.

Irtózzanak a királyok a gonosz cselekedetektől, mert csak az igazság erősíti meg a trónt.

Útálatos legyen a királyoknál istentelenséget cselekedni; mert igazsággal erősíttetik meg a királyiszék.

It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.

Împăraţilor le este scârbă să facă rău, căci prin neprihănire se întăreşte un scaun de domnie. –

It is an abomination to kings to do evil, for the throne is established by righteousness.

Kedves a királyoknak az igaz beszéd, és szereti a király az igazmondót.

Kedvesek a királyoknak az igaz beszédek; és az igazmondót szereti [a király.]

Righteous lips are the delight of kings; and they love him that speaketh right.

Buzele neprihănite sunt plăcute împăraţilor, şi ei iubesc pe cel ce vorbeşte cu neprihănire. –

Righteous lips are the delight of a king, and he loves him who speaks what is right.

A király fölgerjedt haragja a halál követe, de a bölcs férfi lecsillapítja azt.

A királynak felgerjedt haragja [olyan, mint] a halál követe; de a bölcs férfiú leszállítja azt.

The wrath of a king is as messengers of death: but a wise man will pacify it.

Mânia împăratului este un vestitor al morţii, dar un om înţelept trebuie s-o potolească. –

A king’s wrath is a messenger of death, and a wise man will appease it.

A király arcának ragyogásában élet van, jóakarata olyan, mint a tavaszi eső fellege.

A királynak vidám orczájában élet van; jóakaratja olyan, mint a tavaszi eső fellege.

In the light of the king's countenance is life; and his favour is as a cloud of the latter rain.

Seninătatea feţei împăratului este viaţa, şi bunăvoinţa lui este ca o ploaie de primăvară.

In the light of a king’s face there is life, and his favor is like the clouds that bring the spring rain.

Bölcsességet szerezni mennyivel jobb az aranynál, és eszességet szerezni mennyivel kívánatosabb az ezüstnél!

Szerzeni bölcseséget, oh menynyivel jobb az aranynál; és szerzeni eszességet, kivánatosb az ezüstnél!

How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!

Cu cât mai mult face câştigarea înţelepciunii decât a aurului! Cu cât este mai de dorit câştigarea priceperii decât a argintului! –

How much better to get wisdom than gold! To get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.

Az igazak útja elkerüli a gonoszt, és aki figyel a maga útjára, az megtartja életét.

Az igazak országútja eltávozás a gonosztól; megtartja magát az, a ki megőrzi az ő útát.

The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.

Calea oamenilor fără prihană este să se ferească de rău; acela îşi păzeşte sufletul, care veghează asupra căii sale. –

The highway of the upright turns aside from evil; whoever guards his way preserves his life.

Kevélység jár az összeomlás előtt és a bukás előtt fölfuvalkodottság.

A megromlás előtt kevélység [jár], és az eset előtt felfuvalkodottság.

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Mândria merge înaintea pieirii, şi trufia merge înaintea căderii. –

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

Jobb szelíd lélekkel az alázatosak között lenni, mint zsákmányon osztozni a kevélyekkel.

Jobb alázatos lélekkel lenni a szelídekkel, mint zsákmányon osztozni a kevélyekkel.

Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

Mai bine să fii smerit cu cei smeriţi, decât să împarţi prada cu cei mândri. –

It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor than to divide the spoil with the proud.

Aki jól meggondol minden dolgot, jót nyer, és aki bízik az ÚRban, ó, mily boldog az!

A ki figyelmez az igére, jót nyer; és a ki bízik az Úrban, oh mely boldog az!

He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.

Cine cugetă la Cuvântul Domnului găseşte fericirea, şi cine se încrede în Domnul este fericit. –

Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good, and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD.

Aki bölcs a szívében, azt értelmesnek hívják, és a kellemes beszéd növeli a tudást.

A ki elméjében bölcs, hívatik értelmesnek; a beszédnek pedig édessége neveli a tudományt.

The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.

Cine are o inimă înţeleaptă este numit priceput, dar dulceaţa buzelor măreşte ştiinţa. –

The wise of heart is called discerning, and sweetness of speech increases persuasiveness.

Élet forrása az értelem annak, akinek van, de a bolondok büntetése bolondság.

Életnek kútfeje az értelem [annak], a ki bírja azt; de a bolondok fenyítéke bolondságuk.

Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly.

Înţelepciunea este un izvor de viaţă pentru cine o are; dar pedeapsa nebunilor este nebunia lor. –

Good sense is a fountain of life to him who has it, but the instruction of fools is folly.

A bölcs szívű értelmesen igazgatja száját, és ajkaival is gyarapítja a tudást.

A bölcsnek elméje értelmesen igazgatja az ő száját, és az ő ajkain öregbíti a tudományt.

The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.

Cine are o inimă înţeleaptă îşi arată înţelepciunea când vorbeşte şi mereu se văd învăţături noi pe buzele lui. –

The heart of the wise makes his speech judicious and adds persuasiveness to his lips.

Lépes méz a gyönyörűséges beszéd, édes a léleknek, meggyógyítja a csontokat.

Lépesméz a gyönyörűséges beszédek; édesek a léleknek, és meggyógyítói a tetemeknek.

Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

Cuvintele prietenoase sunt ca un fagure de miere, dulci pentru suflet şi sănătoase pentru oase. –

Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.

Van olyan út, amely igaznak tűnik az ember szemében, de végül a halálba visz.

Van oly út, mely igaz az ember szeme előtt, de vége a halálnak úta.

There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Multe căi i se par bune omului, dar la urmă duc la moarte. –

There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.

A munkásnak javára szolgál az éhsége, mert szája sürgeti őt.

A munkálkodó lelke magának munkálkodik; mert az ő szája kényszeríti őt.

He that laboureth laboureth for himself; for his mouth craveth it of him.

Cine munceşte, pentru el munceşte, căci foamea lui îl îndeamnă la lucru. –

A worker’s appetite works for him; his mouth urges him on.

A haszontalan ember gonoszul áskálódik, és az ajkán perzselő tűz van.

A haszontalan ember gonoszt ás ki, és az ő ajkain mintegy égő tűz van;

An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire.

Omul stricat pregăteşte nenorocirea, şi pe buzele lui este ca un foc aprins.

A worthless man plots evil, and his speech is like a scorching fire.

A gonosz ember viszályt szít, a pletykálkodó pedig elválasztja a barátokat is.

A gonosz ember versengést szerez, és a susárló elválasztja a jó barátokat.

A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.

Omul neastâmpărat stârneşte certuri, şi pârâtorul dezbină pe cei mai buni prieteni. –

A dishonest man spreads strife, and a whisperer separates close friends.

Az erőszakos ember becsapja felebarátját, és nem jó útra viszi őt.

Az erőszakos ember elhiteti az ő felebarátját, és nem jó úton viszi őt.

A violent man enticeth his neighbour, and leadeth him into the way that is not good.

Omul asupritor amăgeşte pe aproapele său şi-l duce pe o cale care nu este bună. –

A man of violence entices his neighbor and leads him in a way that is not good.

Aki behunyja szemét, azért teszi, hogy álnokságot tervezzen, aki összeszorítja ajkát, véghez is viszi a gonoszságot.

A ki behúnyja szemeit, [azért teszi], hogy álnokságot gondoljon; a ki összeszorítja ajkait, [már] véghez vitte a gonoszságot.

He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass.

Cine închide ochii ca să se dedea la gânduri stricate, cine-şi muşcă buzele, a şi săvârşit răul. –

Whoever winks his eyes plans dishonest things; he who purses his lips brings evil to pass.

Igen ékes korona az ősz haj, az igazság útján található.

Igen szép ékes korona a vénség, az igazságnak útában találtatik.

The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.

Perii albi sunt o cunună de cinste, ea se găseşte pe calea neprihănirii. –

Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life.

Jobb a hosszútűrő az erősnél, és aki uralkodik az indulatain annál, aki várost hódít.

Jobb a hosszútűrő az erősnél; és a ki uralkodik a maga indulatján, annál, a ki várost vesz meg.

He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.

Cel încet la mânie preţuieşte mai mult decât un viteaz, şi cine este stăpân pe sine preţuieşte mai mult decât cine cucereşte cetăţi. –

Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.

Az ember sorsot vet az ölében, de az ÚRtól van minden döntés.

Az [ember] kebelében vetnek sorsot; de az Úrtól van annak minden ítélete.

The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD.

Se aruncă sorţul în poala hainei, dar orice hotărâre vine de la Domnul.

The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the LORD.
