The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

Limba înţelepţilor dă ştiinţă plăcută, dar gura nesocotiţilor împroaşcă nebunie. –

The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouths of fools pour out folly.

Mindenütt ott van az ÚR szeme, és figyeli a jókat és gonoszokat.

Minden helyeken [vannak] az Úrnak szemei, nézvén a jókat és gonoszokat.

The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

Ochii Domnului sunt în orice loc, ei văd pe cei răi şi pe cei buni. –

The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.

A szelíd nyelv életnek fája, amelyik pedig nincs megfékezve, összetöri a lelket.

A nyelv szelídsége életnek fája; az abban való hamisság pedig a léleknek gyötrelme.

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

Limba dulce este un pom de viaţă, dar limba stricată zdrobeşte sufletul. –

A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.

A bolond megveti apja tanítását, de aki megbecsüli a dorgálást, igen értelmes.

A bolond megútálja az ő atyjának tanítását; a ki pedig megbecsüli a dorgálást, igen eszes.

A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.

Nesocotitul dispreţuieşte învăţătura tatălui său, dar cine ia seama la mustrare ajunge înţelept. –

A fool despises his father’s instruction, but whoever heeds reproof is prudent.

In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.

În casa celui neprihănit este mare belşug, dar în câştigurile celui rău este tulburare. –

In the house of the righteous there is much treasure, but trouble befalls the income of the wicked.

A bölcsek ajka tudást hint szét, nem úgy a bolondok szíve.

A bölcseknek ajkaik hintegetnek tudományt; a bolondoknak pedig elméje nem helyes.

The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.

Buzele înţelepţilor seamănă ştiinţa, dar inima celor nesocotiţi este stricată. –

The lips of the wise spread knowledge; not so the hearts of fools.

Az istentelenek áldozata gyűlöletes az ÚR szemében, az igazak könyörgése pedig kedves neki.

Az istentelenek áldozatja gyűlölséges az Úrnak; az igazak könyörgése pedig kedves néki.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

Jertfa celor răi este o scârbă înaintea Domnului, dar rugăciunea celor fără prihană Îi este plăcută. –

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but the prayer of the upright is acceptable to him.

Utálatos az ÚR előtt az istentelen útja, de szereti azt, aki követi az igazságot.

Utálat az Úrnál az istentelennek úta; azt pedig, a ki követi az igazságot, szereti.

The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.

Calea celui rău este urâtă Domnului, dar El iubeşte pe cel ce umblă după neprihănire. –

The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but he loves him who pursues righteousness.

Szörnyű dorgálást kap az, aki elhagyja útját, és aki gyűlöli a fenyítést, az meghal.

Gonosz dorgálás [jő] arra, a ki útját elhagyja; a ki gyűlöli a fenyítéket, meghal.

Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.

Cine părăseşte cărarea este aspru pedepsit, şi cine urăşte mustrarea va muri. –

There is severe discipline for him who forsakes the way; whoever hates reproof will die.

A sír és a pokol az Úr előtt vannak; mennyivel inkább az emberek szíve.

Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?

Locuinţa morţilor şi Adâncul sunt cunoscute Domnului, cu cât mai mult inimile oamenilor! –

Sheol and Abaddon lie open before the LORD; how much more the hearts of the children of man!

Nem szereti a csúfolódó a feddést, és nem megy oda a bölcsekhez.

Nem szereti a csúfoló a feddést, [és] a bölcsekhez nem megy.

A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.

Batjocoritorului nu-i place să fie mustrat, de aceea nu se duce la cei înţelepţi. –

A scoffer does not like to be reproved; he will not go to the wise.

Az örvendező szív megvidámítja az arcot, de a szív bánata összetöri a lelket.

A vidám elme megvidámítja az orczát; de a szívnek bánatja miatt a lélek megszomorodik.

A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

O inimă veselă înseninează faţa; dar când inima este tristă, duhul este mâhnit. –

A glad heart makes a cheerful face, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is crushed.

The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.

Inima celor pricepuţi caută ştiinţa, dar gura nesocotiţilor găseşte plăcere în nebunie. –

The heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge, but the mouths of fools feed on folly.

A szegénynek minden napja nyomorúságos, a vidám szívűnek pedig szüntelen lakodalma van.

Minden napjai a szegénynek nyomorúságosak; a vidám elméjűnek pedig szüntelen lakodalma [van.]

All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.

Toate zilele celui nenorocit sunt rele, dar cel cu inima mulţumită are un ospăţ necurmat. –

All the days of the afflicted are evil, but the cheerful of heart has a continual feast.

Jobb a kevés az ÚR félelmével, mint a tömérdek kincs háborúsággal.

Jobb a kevés az Úrnak félelmével, mint a temérdek kincs, a hol háborúság van.

Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.

Mai bine puţin, cu frică de Domnul, decât o mare bogăţie, cu tulburare! –

Better is a little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble with it.

Jobb egy tál főzelék ott, ahol szeretet van, mint a hizlalt ökör ott, ahol gyűlölet van.

Jobb a paréjnak étele, a hol szeretet van, mint a hízlalt ökör, a hol van gyűlölség.

Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.

Mai bine un prânz de verdeţuri şi dragoste, decât un bou îngrăşat şi ură. –

Better is a dinner of herbs where love is than a fattened ox and hatred with it.

A haragos ember viszályt szít, a hosszútűrő pedig lecsöndesíti a háborgást.

A haragos férfiú szerez háborúságot; a hosszútűrő pedig lecsendesíti a háborgást.

A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.

Un om iute la mânie stârneşte certuri, dar cine este încet la mânie potoleşte neînţelegerile.

A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger quiets contention.

A rest útja olyan, mint a tövises sövény, az igazak útja pedig el van egyengetve.

A restnek útja olyan, mint a tövises sövény; az igazaknak pedig útja megegyengetett.

The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.

Drumul leneşului este ca un hăţiş de spini, dar cărarea celor fără prihană este netezită. –

The way of a sluggard is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a level highway.

A bölcs fiú örömöt szerez apjának, a bolond ember pedig megveti az anyját.

A bölcs fiú örvendezteti az atyját; a bolond ember pedig megútálja az anyját.

A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

Un fiu înţelept este bucuria tatălui său, dar un om nesocotit dispreţuieşte pe mama sa. –

A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish man despises his mother.

Az esztelen a bolondságnak örül, de az értelmes ember egyenes úton jár.

A bolondság öröme az esztelennek; de az értelmes férfiú igazán jár.

Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.

Nebunia este o bucurie pentru cel fără minte, dar un om priceput merge pe drumul cel drept. –

Folly is a joy to him who lacks sense, but a man of understanding walks straight ahead.

Meghiúsulnak a tervek, ha nincs tanácsadás, de van előrehaladás, ha sok a tanácsadó.

Hiábavalók lesznek a gondolatok, mikor nincs tanács; de a tanácsosok sokaságában előmennek.

Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.

Planurile nu izbutesc, când lipseşte o adunare care să chibzuiască, dar izbutesc când sunt mulţi sfetnici.”

Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed.

Örül az ember, ha felelni tud, és a helyén mondott szó, ó, mely igen jó!

Öröme van az embernek szája feleletében; és az idejében [mondott] beszéd, oh mely igen jó!

A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!

Omul are bucurie să dea un răspuns cu gura lui, şi ce bună este o vorbă spusă la vreme potrivită! –

To make an apt answer is a joy to a man, and a word in season, how good it is!

Az élet útja fölfelé vezet az értelmes ember számára, hogy elkerülje a Seolt, amely lent van.

Az életnek úta felfelé van az értelmes ember számára, hogy eltávozzék a pokoltól, mely aláfelé van.

The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.

Pentru cel înţelept, cărarea vieţii duce în sus, ca să-l abată de la Locuinţa morţilor, care este jos. –

The path of life leads upward for the prudent, that he may turn away from Sheol beneath.

A kevélyek házát lerombolja az ÚR, az özvegy határát azonban megerősíti.

A kevélyeknek házát kiszakgatja az Úr; megerősíti pedig az özvegynek határát.

The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.

Domnul surpă casa celor mândri, dar întăreşte hotarele văduvei. –

The LORD tears down the house of the proud but maintains the widow’s boundaries.

Utálatosak az ÚR előtt a gonosz gondolatok, de kedves a tiszta beszéd.

Útálatosak az Úrnak a gonosz gondolatok; de kedvesek a tiszta beszédek.

The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.

Gândurile rele sunt urâte Domnului, dar cuvintele prietenoase sunt curate înaintea Lui. –

The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD, but gracious words are pure.

Megkárosítja házát a telhetetlen, de aki gyűlöli a megvesztegetést, az élni fog.

Megháborítja az ő házát, a ki követi a telhetetlenséget; a ki pedig gyűlöli az ajándékokat, él az.

He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.

Cel lacom de câştig îşi tulbură casa, dar cel ce urăşte mita va trăi. –

Whoever is greedy for unjust gain troubles his own household, but he who hates bribes will live.

Az igaz meggondolja szívében, mit szóljon, az istentelenek szája pedig ontja a gonoszt.

Az igaznak elméje meggondolja, mit szóljon; az istenteleneknek pedig szája ontja a gonoszt.

The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.

Inima celui neprihănit se gândeşte ce să răspundă, dar gura celor răi împroaşcă răutăţi. –

The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.

Távol van az ÚR az istentelenektől, de az igazak könyörgését meghallgatja.

Messze [van] az Úr az istentelenektől; az igazaknak pedig könyörgését meghallgatja.

The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

Domnul Se depărtează de cei răi, dar ascultă rugăciunea celor neprihăniţi. –

The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

A ragyogó szem megvidámítja a szívet, a jó hír megerősíti a csontokat.

A szemek világa megvidámítja a szívet; a jó hír megerősíti a csontokat.

The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.

O privire prietenoasă înveseleşte inima, o veste bună întăreşte oasele. –

The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, and good news refreshes the bones.

Akinek füle hallgat az éltető intő szóra, az a bölcsek között lakik.

A mely fül hallgatja az életnek dorgálását, a bölcsek között lakik.

The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.

Urechea care ia aminte la învăţăturile care duc la viaţă locuieşte în mijlocul înţelepţilor. –

The ear that listens to life-giving reproof will dwell among the wise.

Aki elfordul az intéstől, az megveti a saját lelkét, aki pedig hallgat a feddésre, értelmet szerez.

A ki elvonja magát az erkölcsi tanítástól, megútálja az ő lelkét; a ki pedig hallgatja a feddést, értelmet szerez.

He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.

Cel ce leapădă certarea îşi dispreţuieşte sufletul, dar cel ce ascultă mustrarea capătă pricepere. –

Whoever ignores instruction despises himself, but he who listens to reproof gains intelligence.

Az ÚR félelme bölcsességre tanít, és a tisztesség előtt jár az alázatosság.

Az Úrnak félelme a bölcseségnek tudománya, és a tisztességnek előtte jár az alázatosság.

The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

Frica de Domnul este şcoala înţelepciunii, şi smerenia merge înaintea slavei. –

The fear of the LORD is instruction in wisdom, and humility comes before honor.
