Az igazaknak igazságok megszabadítja őket; de az ő kivánságokban fogatnak meg a hitetlenek.

The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.

When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth.

La moartea celui rău, îi piere nădejdea, şi aşteptarea oamenilor nelegiuiţi este nimicită.

When the wicked dies, his hope will perish, and the expectation of wealth perishes too.

The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.

An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.

With his mouth the godless man would destroy his neighbor, but by knowledge the righteous are delivered.

When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.

Az igazak áldása által gyarapodik a város, az istentelenek szája pedig romlására van annak.

Az igazaknak áldása által emelkedik a város; az istentelenek szája által pedig megromol.

By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.

Whoever belittles his neighbor lacks sense, but a man of understanding remains silent.

A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.

Whoever goes about slandering reveals secrets, but he who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a thing covered.

Ahol nincs vezetés, elvész a nép, a sok tanácsadó pedig győzelemre visz.

A hol nincs vezetés, elvész a nép; a megmaradás pedig a sok tanácsos által van.

Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.

Când nu este chibzuinţă, poporul cade; dar biruinţa vine prin marele număr de sfetnici. –

Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.

Teljesen rosszul jár, aki kezeskedik egy idegenért, de aki gyűlöli a kezességet, biztonságban van.

Teljességgel megrontatik, a ki kezes lesz idegenért; a ki pedig gyűlöli a kezességet, bátorságos lesz.

He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hateth suretiship is sure.

Cui se pune chezaş pentru altul îi merge rău, dar cine se teme să se pună chezaş este liniştit. –

Whoever puts up security for a stranger will surely suffer harm, but he who hates striking hands in pledge is secure.

A kedves asszony megőrzi a tisztességét, a hatalmaskodók pedig a gazdagságukhoz ragaszkodnak.

A kedves asszony megtartja a tiszteletet, a hatalmaskodók pedig megtartják a gazdagságot.

A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong men retain riches.

O femeie plăcută capătă cinste, şi cei asupritori capătă bogăţie. –

A gracious woman gets honor, and violent men get riches.

Magával tesz jót a kegyes férfi, a kegyetlen pedig saját testének okoz fájdalmat.

Ő magával tesz jól a kegyes férfiú; a kegyetlen pedig öntestének okoz fájdalmat.

The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.

Omul milostiv îşi face bine sufletului său, dar omul fără milă îşi tulbură însăşi carnea lui. –

A man who is kind benefits himself, but a cruel man hurts himself.

Az istentelen hamis jövedelmet szerez, az igazságszerzőnek pedig valóságos a jutalma.

Az istentelen munkál álnok keresményt; az igazságszerzőnek pedig jutalma valóságos.

The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.

Cel rău dobândeşte un câştig înşelător, dar cel ce seamănă neprihănirea are o adevărată plată. –

The wicked earns deceptive wages, but one who sows righteousness gets a sure reward.

Aki kitart az igazságban, az életre jut, aki pedig a gonoszt követi, az a vesztére teszi azt.

A ki őszinte az igazságban, az életére -, a ki pedig a gonoszt követi, az vesztére [míveli azt].

As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.

Adevărata neprihănire duce la viaţă, dar cel ce urmăreşte răul găseşte moartea. –

Whoever is steadfast in righteousness will live, but he who pursues evil will die.

Utálatosak az ÚR szemében az álnok szívűek, de kedvesek számára, akik feddhetetlenül járnak.

Útálatosok az Úrnál az álnok szívűek; kedvesek pedig ő nála, a kik az ő útjokban tökéletesek.

They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the LORD: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.

Cei cu inima stricată sunt o scârbă înaintea Domnului, dar cei ce umblă fără prihană Îi sunt plăcuţi.

Those of crooked heart are an abomination to the LORD, but those of blameless ways are his delight.

Kézadással erősítem, hogy nem marad büntetlenül a gonosz, az igazak utódai azonban megszabadulnak.

Kézadással [erősítem,] hogy nem marad büntetlen a gonosz; az igazaknak pedig magva megszabadul.

Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.

Hotărât: cel rău nu va rămâne nepedepsit, dar sămânţa celor neprihăniţi va fi scăpată.

Be assured, an evil person will not go unpunished, but the offspring of the righteous will be delivered.

As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.

Femeia frumoasă şi fără minte este ca un inel de aur pus în râtul unui porc. –

Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout is a beautiful woman without discretion.

Az igazak csak jót kívánnak, az istentelenek viszont haragra számíthatnak.

Az igazaknak kivánsága csak jó, az istentelenek várakozása pedig harag.

The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.

Dorinţa celor neprihăniţi este numai bine; dar aşteptarea celor răi este numai mânie. –

The desire of the righteous ends only in good, the expectation of the wicked in wrath.

Van olyan, aki bőven adakozik, és annál inkább gazdagodik, és van olyan, aki visszatartja a járandóságot, mégis nagyon szűkölködik.

Van olyan, a ki bőven adakozik, és annál inkább gazdagodik; és a ki megtartóztatja a járandóságot, de ugyan szűkölködik.

There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.

Unul care dă cu mâna largă, ajunge mai bogat; şi altul, care economiseşte prea mult, nu face decât să sărăcească. –

One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.

A mással jót tevő ember bővelkedik, és aki mást felüdít, maga is felüdül.

A mással jóltevő ember megkövéredik; és a ki mást felüdít, maga is üdül.

The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

Sufletul binefăcător va fi săturat, şi cel ce udă pe alţii va fi udat şi el. –

Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.

Átkozza azt a nép, aki búzáját visszatartja, annak fején viszont áldás van, aki áruba bocsátja.

A ki búzáját visszatartja, átkozza azt a nép; annak fején pedig, a ki eladja, áldás [van].

He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.

Cine opreşte grâul este blestemat de popor, dar pe capul celui ce-l vinde vine binecuvântarea. –

The people curse him who holds back grain, but a blessing is on the head of him who sells it.

Aki jóra igyekszik, jóakaratot szerez, de aki gonoszt forral, magára vonja azt.

A ki jóra igyekezik, jóakaratot szerez: a ki pedig gonoszt keres, ő magára jő az.

He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.

Cine urmăreşte binele îşi câştigă bunăvoinţă, dar cine urmăreşte răul este atins de el. –

Whoever diligently seeks good seeks favor, but evil comes to him who searches for it.

Aki gazdagságában bízik, elbukik, de az igazak kivirágoznak, mint a fa ága.

A ki bízik az ő gazdagságában, elesik; de mint a fa ága, az igazak kivirágoznak.

He that trusteth in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.

Cine se încrede în bogăţii va cădea, dar cei neprihăniţi vor înverzi ca frunzişul. –

Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf.

Aki saját házára hoz romlást, annak szél lesz az öröksége, és a bolond szolgál a bölcs elméjűnek.

A ki megháborítja az ő házát, annak öröksége szél lesz; és a bolond szolgája a bölcs elméjűnek.

He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.

Cine îşi tulbură casa va moşteni vânt, şi nebunul va fi robul omului înţelept! –

Whoever troubles his own household will inherit the wind, and the fool will be servant to the wise of heart.

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Rodul celui neprihănit este un pom de viaţă, şi cel înţelept câştigă suflete. –

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and whoever captures souls is wise.

Íme, az igaz elnyeri jutalmát e földön, de mennyivel inkább az istentelen és a bűnös!

Ímé, az igaz e földön megnyeri jutalmát; mennyivel inkább az istentelen és a bűnös!

Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.

Iată, cel neprihănit este răsplătit pe pământ; cu cât mai mult cel rău şi păcătos!

If the righteous is repaid on earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!
