Fiam, ne felejtsd el tanításomat, és parancsolataimat őrizze meg szíved.

Fiam! az én tanításomról el ne felejtkezzél, és az én parancsolatimat megőrizze a te elméd;

My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

Fiule, nu uita învăţăturile mele şi păstrează în inima ta sfaturile mele!

My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments,

Mert hosszú napokat, hosszú életet és békességet hoznak azok neked.

Mert napoknak hosszú voltát, és sok esztendős életet, és békességet hoznak néked bőven.

For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

Căci ele îţi vor lungi zilele şi anii vieţii tale şi-ţi vor aduce multă pace.

for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.

Az irgalmasság és hűség ne hagyjon el téged! Kösd azokat a nyakadba, írd azokat szíved táblájára,

Az irgalmasság és igazság ne hagyjanak el téged: kösd azokat a te nyakadra, írd be azokat a te szívednek táblájára;

Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

Să nu te părăsească bunătatea şi credincioşia: leagă-ţi-le la gât, scrie-le pe tăbliţa inimii tale.

Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart.

így nyersz kedvességet és jóindulatot Isten és az emberek szemében.

Így nyersz kedvességet és jó értelmet Istennek és embernek szemei előtt.

So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

Şi astfel vei căpăta trecere şi minte sănătoasă, înaintea lui Dumnezeu şi înaintea oamenilor.

So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.

Bízz az ÚRban teljes szívedből, és ne a magad értelmére támaszkodj!

Bizodalmad legyen az Úrban teljes elmédből; a magad értelmére pedig ne támaszkodjál.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Încrede-te în Domnul din toată inima ta şi nu te bizui pe înţelepciunea ta!

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

Minden utadon őrá gondolj, akkor ő igazgatni fogja útjaidat.

Minden te útaidban megismered őt; akkor ő igazgatja a te útaidat.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Recunoaşte-L în toate căile tale, şi El îţi va netezi cărările.

In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Ne tartsd bölcsnek magadat; féld az URat, és kerüld a rosszat!

Ne légy bölcs a te magad ítélete szerint; féld az Urat, és távozzál el a gonosztól.

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

Nu te socoti singur înţelept; teme-te de Domnul şi abate-te de la rău!

Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.

Egészség lesz ez testednek és megújulás csontjaidnak.

Egészség lesz [ez] a te testednek, és megújulás a te csontaidnak.

It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Aceasta va aduce sănătate trupului tău şi răcorire oaselor tale.

It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.

Tiszteld az URat a vagyonodból, egész jövedelmed zsengéjéből!

Tiszteld az Urat a te marhádból, a te egész jövedelmed zsengéjéből.

Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

Cinsteşte pe Domnul cu averile tale şi cu cele dintâi roade din tot venitul tău:

Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce;

Így majd bőven megtelnek csűrjeid, és must árad sajtód vályúiból.

Eképen megtelnek a te csűreid elégséggel, és musttal áradnak el sajtód válúi.

So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

căci atunci grânarele îţi vor fi pline de belşug, şi teascurile tale vor geme de must.

then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.

Az ÚRnak fenyítését, fiam, ne vesd meg, és dorgálását meg ne utáld!

Az Úrnak fenyítését fiam, ne útáld meg, se meg ne únd az ő dorgálását.

My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:

Fiule, nu dispreţui mustrarea Domnului şi nu te mâhni de pedepsele Lui.

My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline or be weary of his reproof,

Mert akit szeret az ÚR, azt megdorgálja, úgy, mint az apa a fiát, akit kedvel.

Mert a kit szeret az Úr, megdorgálja, és pedig mint az atya az ő fiát, a kit kedvel.

For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Căci Domnul mustră pe cine iubeşte, ca un părinte pe copilul pe care-l iubeşte!

for the LORD reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.

Boldog ember az, aki meglelte a bölcsességet, és az az ember, aki értelemre tesz szert.

Boldog ember, a ki megnyerte a bölcseséget, és az ember, a ki értelmet szerez.

Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

Ferice de omul care găseşte înţelepciunea şi de omul care capătă pricepere!

Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding,

Jobb ezt megszerezni, mint az ezüstöt, és nagyobb a jövedelme, mint a színaranynak.

Mert jobb ennek megszerzése az ezüstnek megszerzésénél, és a kiásott aranynál ennek jövedelme.

For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

Căci câştigul pe care-l aduce ea este mai bun decât al argintului, şi venitul adus de ea este mai de preţ decât aurul;

for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold.

Drágább ez a gyöngynél, és semmi sem hasonlítható hozzá, amire vágyol.

Drágább a fényes kárbunkulusoknál, és minden te gyönyörűségeid nem hasonlíthatók hozzá.

She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

ea este mai de preţ decât mărgăritarele, şi toate comorile tale nu se pot asemui cu ea.

She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her.

Hosszú élet van jobbjában, baljában pedig gazdagság és tisztesség.

Napoknak hosszúsága van jobbjában, baljában gazdagság és tisztesség.

Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.

În dreapta ei este o viaţă lungă; în stânga ei, bogăţie şi slavă.

Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.

Útjai gyönyörűséges utak, és minden ösvénye békesség.

Az ő útai gyönyörűséges útak, és minden ösvényei: békesség.

Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.

Élet fája ez azoknak, akik megragadják, és akik erre támaszkodnak, boldogok!

Életnek fája ez azoknak, a kik megragadják, és a kik megtartják boldogok!

She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

Ea este un pom de viaţă pentru cei ce o apucă, şi cei ce o au sunt fericiţi.

She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called blessed.

Az ÚR bölcsességgel alapozta meg a földet, értelemmel erősítette meg az eget.

Az Úr bölcseséggel fundálta a földet, erősítette az eget értelemmel.

The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.

Prin înţelepciune a întemeiat Domnul pământul, şi prin pricepere a întărit El cerurile;

The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens;

Tudása által szakadt föl a mélység, és csepegnek harmatot a felhők.

Az ő tudománya által fakadtak ki a mélységből [a vizek,] és a felhők csepegnek harmatot,

By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.

prin ştiinţa Lui s-au deschis adâncurile şi strecoară norii roua.

by his knowledge the deeps broke open, and the clouds drop down the dew.

Fiam, ne téveszd ezeket szem elől, tartsd magadat az igazi bölcsességhez és megfontoltsághoz!

Fiam, ne távozzanak el a te szemeidtől, őrizd meg az igaz [bölcseséget,] és a meggondolást!

My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:

Fiule, să nu se depărteze învăţăturile acestea de ochii tăi: păstrează înţelepciunea şi chibzuinţa!

My son, do not lose sight of these— keep sound wisdom and discretion,

Élet lesz ez lelkednek, ez ékesíti nyakadat.

És lesznek [ezek] élet a te lelkednek, és kedvesség a te nyakadnak.

So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.

Căci ele vor fi viaţa sufletului tău şi podoaba gâtului tău.

and they will be life for your soul and adornment for your neck.

Akkor bátran járod utadat, és nem ütöd meg a lábadat.

Akkor bátorsággal járod a te útadat, és a te lábadat meg nem ütöd.

Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.

Atunci vei merge cu încredere pe drumul tău, şi piciorul nu ţi se va poticni.

Then you will walk on your way securely, and your foot will not stumble.

Mikor lefekszel, nem rettegsz, hanem lefekszel, és gyönyörűséges lesz az álmod.

Mikor lefekszel, nem rettegsz; hanem lefekszel és gyönyörűséges lesz a te álmod.

When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

Când te vei culca, vei fi fără teamă, şi când vei dormi, somnul îţi va fi dulce.

If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

Nem kell félned a hirtelen ijedségtől és a gonoszok pusztításától, ha jönnének.

Ne félj a hirtelen való félelemtől, és a gonoszok pusztításától, ha eljő;

Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.

Nu te teme nici de spaimă năprasnică, nici de o năvălire din partea celor răi;

Do not be afraid of sudden terror or of the ruin of the wicked, when it comes,

Mert az ÚR lesz a bizodalmad, és ő megőrzi lábadat a csapdától.

Mert az Úr lesz a te bizodalmad és megőrzi a te lábadat a fogságtól.

For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

căci Domnul va fi nădejdea ta, şi El îţi va păzi piciorul de cădere.

for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.

Ne tartsd vissza a jótéteményt azoktól, akiket illet, ha hatalmadban van annak megtétele.

Ne fogd meg a jótéteményt azoktól, a kiket illet, ha hatalmadban van annak megcselekedése.

Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.

Nu opri o binefacere celui ce are nevoie de ea, când poţi s-o faci.

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.

Ne mondd felebarátodnak: „Menj el, később térj vissza, holnap adok”, noha megvan neked, amit kér.

Ne mondd a te felebarátodnak: menj el, azután térj meg, és holnap adok; holott nálad van, [a mit kér.]

Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.

Nu zice aproapelui tău: „Du-te şi vino iarăşi; îţi voi da mâine!” când ai de unde să dai.

Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come again, tomorrow I will give it”—when you have it with you.

Ne forralj gonoszt felebarátod ellen, aki gyanútlanul él melletted.

Ne forralj a te felebarátod ellen gonoszt, holott ő együtt ül bátorságosan te veled.

Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.

Nu gândi rău împotriva aproapelui tău, când locuieşte liniştit lângă tine.

Do not plan evil against your neighbor, who dwells trustingly beside you.

Ne pörölj egy emberrel sem ok nélkül, ha nem illetett gonosszal téged.

Ne háborogj egy emberrel is ok nélkül, ha nem illetett gonoszszal téged.

Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.

Nu te certa fără pricină cu cineva, când nu ţi-a făcut niciun rău.

Do not contend with a man for no reason, when he has done you no harm.

Ne irigykedj az erőszakos emberre, és egyetlen útját se válaszd.

Ne irígykedjél az erőszakos emberre, és néki semmi útát ne válaszd.

Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.

Nu pizmui pe omul asupritor şi nu alege niciuna din căile lui!

Do not envy a man of violence and do not choose any of his ways,

Mert utálja az ÚR az engedetlent, de az igazakkal meghitt közösségben van.

Mert útálja az Úr az engedetlent; és az igazakkal van az ő titka.

For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.

Căci Domnul urăşte pe oamenii stricaţi, dar este prieten cu cei fără prihană.

for the devious person is an abomination to the LORD, but the upright are in his confidence.

Az ÚR átka van a gonoszok házán, de az igazak lakhelyét megáldja.

Az Úrnak átka van a gonosznak házán; de az igazaknak lakhelyét megáldja.

The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.

Blestemul Domnului este în casa celui rău, dar locuinţa celor neprihăniţi o binecuvântă.

The LORD’s curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the dwelling of the righteous.

Aki csúfolódik, azt megcsúfolja, de a szelídeknek kegyelmet ad.

Ha kik csúfolók, ő megcsúfolja [azokat;] a szelídeknek pedig ád kedvességet.

Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.

Când are a face cu cei batjocoritori, Îşi bate joc de ei, dar celor smeriţi le dă har.

Toward the scorners he is scornful, but to the humble he gives favor.

The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.

Înţelepţii vor moşteni slava, dar partea celor nebuni este ruşinea.

The wise will inherit honor, but fools get disgrace.
