A bölcsesség megépítette házát, és hét oszlopot faragott hozzá.

Bölcseség megépítette az ő házát, annak hét oszlopát kivágván.

Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:

Înţelepciunea şi-a zidit casa, şi-a tăiat cei şapte stâlpi.

Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn her seven pillars.

Levágta marháit, megfűszerezte borát, és elkészítette asztalát.

Megölte vágnivalóit, kitöltötte borát, asztalát is elkészítette.

She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.

Şi-a înjunghiat vitele, şi-a amestecat vinul, şi-a pus masa.

She has slaughtered her beasts; she has mixed her wine; she has also set her table.

Elbocsátotta leányait, hogy hívogassanak a város magaslatain:

Elbocsátá az ő leányit, hivogat a város magas helyeinek tetein.

She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,

Şi-a trimis slujnicele şi strigă, de pe vârful înălţimilor cetăţii:

She has sent out her young women to call from the highest places in the town,

Aki tudatlan, térjen be! Az értelem nélkül valóknak ezt mondja:

Ki tudatlan? térjen ide; az értelem nélkül valónak [ezt] mondja:

Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,

„Cine este prost, să vină încoace!” Celor lipsiţi de pricepere le zice:

“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” To him who lacks sense she says,

Jöjjetek, éljetek az én étkemmel, és igyatok fűszeres boromból!

Jőjjetek, éljetek az én étkemmel, és igyatok a borból, melyet töltöttem.

Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.

„Veniţi de mâncaţi din pâinea mea şi beţi din vinul pe care l-am amestecat!

“Come, eat of my bread and drink of the wine I have mixed.

Hagyjátok el az ostobaságot, és éljetek, járjatok az eszesség útján!

Hagyjátok el a bolondokat, hogy éljetek, járjatok az eszességnek útán.

Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

Lăsaţi prostia şi veţi trăi, şi umblaţi pe calea priceperii!”

Leave your simple ways, and live, and walk in the way of insight.”

Aki meginti a csúfolót, szégyent hoz magára, és aki megfeddi a gonoszt, szidalmat kap.

A ki tanítja a csúfolót, nyer magának szidalmat: és a ki feddi a latrot, szégyenére lesz.

He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.

Cel ce mustră pe un batjocoritor îşi trage dispreţ şi cel ce caută să îndrepte pe cel rău se alege cu ocară.

Whoever corrects a scoffer gets himself abuse, and he who reproves a wicked man incurs injury.

Ne fedd meg a csúfolódót, hogy meg ne gyűlöljön téged. Fedd meg a bölcset, és szeret majd téged.

Ne fedd meg a csúfolót, hogy ne gyűlöljön téged; fedd meg a bölcset, és szeret téged.

Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.

Nu mustra pe cel batjocoritor, ca să nu te urască; mustră pe cel înţelept, şi el te va iubi!

Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you.

Adj a bölcsnek, és még bölcsebb lesz; tanítsd az igazat, és gyarapítja tudását.

Adj a bölcsnek, és még bölcsebb lesz; tanítsd az igazat, és öregbíti a tanulságot.

Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.

Dă înţeleptului, şi se va face şi mai înţelept; învaţă pe cel neprihănit, şi va învăţa şi mai mult!

Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.

A bölcsesség kezdete az ÚR félelme, és a Szentnek ismerete ad értelmet.

A bölcseségnek kezdete az Úrnak félelme; és a Szentnek ismerete az eszesség.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Începutul înţelepciunii este frica de Domnul; şi ştiinţa sfinţilor este priceperea.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.

Mert általam sokasodnak meg napjaid, és hosszabbodnak meg életed esztendei.

Mert én általam sokasulnak meg a te napjaid, és meghosszabbítják néked életednek esztendeit.

For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.

Prin mine ţi se vor înmulţi zilele şi ţi se vor mări anii vieţii tale.

For by me your days will be multiplied, and years will be added to your life.

Ha bölcs vagy, magadnak vagy bölcs. Ha pedig csúfolódó vagy, magad vallod kárát.

Ha bölcs vagy, bölcs vagy te magadnak; ha pedig csúfoló vagy, magad vallod kárát.

If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.

Dacă eşti înţelept, pentru tine eşti înţelept; dacă eşti batjocoritor, tu singur vei suferi.

If you are wise, you are wise for yourself; if you scoff, you alone will bear it.

Fecsegő asszony a balgaság, bolond, és semmit sem tud.

Balgaság asszony fecsegő, bolond és semmit nem tud.

A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.

Nebunia este o femeie gălăgioasă, proastă şi care nu ştie nimic.

The woman Folly is loud; she is seductive and knows nothing.

Leült házának ajtajába, a város magaslatain ül egy széken,

És leült az ő házának ajtajába, székre a városnak magas helyein,

For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,

Ea şade totuşi la uşa casei sale, pe un scaun, pe înălţimile cetăţii,

She sits at the door of her house; she takes a seat on the highest places of the town,

hogy így hívja az arra járókat, akik egyenesen járnak útjukon:

Hogy hívja az útonjárókat, a kik egyenesen mennek útjokon.

To call passengers who go right on their ways:

ca să strige la trecătorii care merg pe calea cea dreaptă:

calling to those who pass by, who are going straight on their way,

„Aki együgyű, térjen ide!”; és az esztelennek ezt mondja:

Ki együgyű? térjen ide, és valaki esztelen, annak [ezt] mondja:

Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,

„Cine este prost, să vină aici!” Iar celui fără minte îi zice:

“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” And to him who lacks sense she says,

„A lopott víz édes, és a titkon való étel gyönyörűséges!”.

Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.

„Apele furate sunt dulci, şi pâinea luată pe ascuns este plăcută!”

“Stolen water is sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.”

De nem tudják, hogy ott a halottak vannak, és hogy a Seol mélyébe esnek meghívottjai.

És az nem tudja, hogy ott élet nélkül valók vannak; és a pokol mélyébe esnek az ő hivatalosai!

But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.

El nu ştie că acolo sunt morţii şi că oaspeţii ei sunt în văile Locuinţei morţilor.

But he does not know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.
