Olyan az ÚR kezében a király szíve, mint a vízfolyás, oda irányítja, ahová akarja.

Mint a vizeknek folyásai, olyan a királynak szíve az Úrnak kezében, valahová akarja, oda hajtja azt!

The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

Inima împăratului este ca un râu de apă în mâna Domnului, pe care îl îndreaptă încotro vrea. –

The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the LORD; he turns it wherever he will.

Az ember minden útja helyes a maga szemében, de az ÚR a szívek vizsgálója.

Az embernek minden úta igaz a maga szemei előtt; de a szívek vizsgálója az Úr.

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.

Omul socoteşte că toate căile lui sunt fără prihană, dar Cel ce cercetează inimile este Domnul.

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the heart.

Az igazság és igaz ítélet gyakorlását jobban szereti az ÚR az áldozatnál.

Az igazságnak és igaz ítéletnek gyakorlását inkább szereti az Úr az áldozatnál.

To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

A face dreptate şi judecată, este mai plăcut Domnului decât jertfele.

To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

A fennhéjázó tekintet és a kevély szív az istentelenek lámpása, s bűn az.

A szemnek fenhéjázása és az elmének kevélysége: az istentelenek szántása, bűn.

An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

Privirile trufaşe şi inima îngâmfată, această candelă a celor răi, nu este decât păcat. –

Haughty eyes and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, are sin.

A szorgalmasok igyekezete gyarapodást hoz, aki viszont elhamarkodottan cselekszik, csak ínségre jut.

A szorgalmatosnak igyekezete csak gyarapodásra [van;] valaki pedig hirtelenkedik, csak szükségre [jut.]

The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.

Planurile omului harnic nu duc decât la belşug, dar cel ce lucrează cu grabă n-ajunge decât la lipsă. –

The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.

A hazug nyelvvel gyűjtött kincs elenyésző pára azoknak, akik a halált keresik.

A hamisságnak nyelvével gyűjtött kincs elveszett hiábavalósága azoknak, a kik a halált keresik.

The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.

Comorile câştigate cu o limbă mincinoasă sunt o deşertăciune care fuge, şi ele duc la moarte. –

The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a fleeting vapor and a snare of death.

Az istenteleneket magával ragadja erőszakosságuk, mert nem akarnak igazságot cselekedni.

Az istentelenek pusztítása magával ragadja őket; mert nem akartak igazságot cselekedni.

The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.

Silnicia celor răi îi mătură, pentru că nu vor să facă ce este drept. –

The violence of the wicked will sweep them away, because they refuse to do what is just.

Tekervényes a bűnös ember útja, a tiszta ember cselekedete pedig igaz.

Tekervényes a bűnös embernek úta; a tisztának cselekedete pedig igaz.

The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.

Cel vinovat merge pe căi sucite, dar cel nevinovat face ce este bine.

The way of the guilty is crooked, but the conduct of the pure is upright.

Jobb a tető ormán lakni, mint zsémbes asszonnyal egy házban.

Jobb a tető ormán lakni, mint háborgó asszonynyal, és közös házban.

It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

Mai bine să locuieşti într-un colţ pe acoperiş, decât cu o nevastă gâlcevitoare într-o casă mare. –

It is better to live in a corner of the housetop than in a house shared with a quarrelsome wife.

Az istentelen lelke gonoszt kíván, és nem talál könyörületre nála a felebarátja.

Az istentelennek lelke kiván gonoszt; [és] az ő szeme előtt nem talál könyörületre az ő felebarátja.

The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.

Sufletul celui rău doreşte răul, semenul lui n-are nicio trecere înaintea lui. –

The soul of the wicked desires evil; his neighbor finds no mercy in his eyes.

Mikor a csúfolódót büntetik, okul belőle az együgyű, mikor pedig a bölcset oktatják, az befogadja a tudást.

Mikor a csúfolót büntetik, az együgyű lesz bölcs; mikor pedig a bölcset oktatják, ő veszi eszébe a tudományt.

When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.

Când este pedepsit batjocoritorul, prostul se face înţelept, şi când se dă învăţătură celui înţelept, el capătă ştiinţa. –

When a scoffer is punished, the simple becomes wise; when a wise man is instructed, he gains knowledge.

Szemmel tartja az igaz az istentelen házát, és veszedelemre juttatja a bűnösöket.

Nézi az igaz az istentelennek házát, hogy milyen veszedelembe jutottak az istentelenek.

The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.

Cel neprihănit se uită la casa celui rău şi vede ce repede sunt aruncaţi cei răi în nenorocire. –

The Righteous One observes the house of the wicked; he throws the wicked down to ruin.

Aki bedugja fülét a szegény kiáltására, nem hallgatják meg, ha majd ő is kiált.

A ki bedugja fülét a szegény kiáltására; ő is kiált, de meg nem hallgattatik.

Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

Cine îşi astupă urechea la strigătul săracului, nici el nu va căpăta răspuns când va striga. –

Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered.

A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.

Un dar făcut în taină potoleşte mânia, şi o mită dată pe ascuns potoleşte cea mai puternică mânie. –

A gift in secret averts anger, and a concealed bribe, strong wrath.

Öröm az igaznak törvényesen cselekedni, de rettegés az a hamisan cselekvőnek.

Vígasság az igaznak igazat cselekedni; de ijedelem a hamisság cselekedőinek.

It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

Este o bucurie pentru cel neprihănit să facă ce este bine, dar pentru cei ce fac răul este o groază. –

When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.

Az az ember, aki eltévelyedik az értelem útjáról, a halottak gyülekezetében nyugszik majd.

Az ember, a ki eltévelyedik az értelemnek útáról, az élet nélkül valók gyülekezetiben nyugszik.

The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.

Omul care se abate de la calea înţelepciunii se va odihni în adunarea celor morţi. –

One who wanders from the way of good sense will rest in the assembly of the dead.

Aki szeret mulatni, szűkölködővé lesz, és nem lesz gazdag, aki szereti a bort és az olajat!

Szűkölködő ember [lesz], a ki szereti az örömet; a ki szereti a bort és az olajat, nem lesz gazdag!

He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

Cine iubeşte petrecerile va duce lipsă, şi cine iubeşte vinul şi untdelemnul dresurilor nu se îmbogăţeşte. –

Whoever loves pleasure will be a poor man; he who loves wine and oil will not be rich.

Váltságdíj az igazért az istentelen, és az igazak helyett a hitetlen bűnhődik.

Az igazért váltságdíj az istentelen, és az igazak helyett a hitetlen [büntettetik meg.]

The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.

Cel rău slujeşte ca preţ de răscumpărare pentru cel neprihănit, şi cel stricat, pentru oamenii fără prihană. –

The wicked is a ransom for the righteous, and the traitor for the upright.

Jobb a puszta földön lakni, mint zsémbes és haragos asszonnyal.

Jobb lakozni a pusztának földén, mint a feddődő és haragos asszonynyal.

It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.

Mai bine să locuieşti într-un pământ pustiu, decât cu o nevastă gâlcevitoare şi supărăcioasă. –

It is better to live in a desert land than with a quarrelsome and fretful woman.

Kívánatos kincs és olaj van a bölcs házában, a bolond ember pedig eltékozolja azt.

Kivánatos kincs és kenet van a bölcsnek házában; a bolond ember pedig eltékozolja azt.

There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.

Comori de preţ şi untdelemn sunt în locuinţa celui înţelept, dar omul fără minte le risipeşte. –

Precious treasure and oil are in a wise man’s dwelling, but a foolish man devours it.

Aki követi az igazságot és az irgalmasságot, az életet, igazságot és tisztességet nyer.

A ki követi az igazságot és az irgalmasságot, nyer életet, igazságot és tisztességet.

He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

Cine urmăreşte neprihănirea şi bunătatea, găseşte viaţă, neprihănire şi slavă. –

Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness will find life, righteousness, and honor.

Fölmegy a bölcs a hősök városába, és lerontja biztosnak vélt erődítményüket.

A hősök városába felmegy a bölcs, és lerontja az ő bizodalmoknak erejét.

A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.

Înţeleptul cucereşte cetatea vitejilor şi doboară puterea în care se încredeau. –

A wise man scales the city of the mighty and brings down the stronghold in which they trust.

Aki vigyáz szájára és nyelvére, megőrzi életét a nyomorúságtól.

A ki megőrzi száját és nyelvét, megtartja életét a nyomorúságtól.

Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

Cine îşi păzeşte gura şi limba, îşi scuteşte sufletul de multe necazuri. –

Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble.

A kevély dölyfösnek csúfoló a neve, a ki haragjában kevélységet cselekszik.

Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.

Cel mândru şi trufaş se cheamă batjocoritor: el lucrează cu aprinderea îngâmfării.

“Scoffer” is the name of the arrogant, haughty man who acts with arrogant pride.

A lustát elemészti kívánsága, mert keze nem akar dolgozni.

A restnek kivánsága megemészti őt; mert az ő kezei nem akarnak dolgozni.

The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.

Poftele leneşului îl omoară, pentru că nu vrea să lucreze cu mâinile. –

The desire of the sluggard kills him, for his hands refuse to labor.

Egész nap csak kívánsága gyötri; az igaz pedig ad, és nem tartja vissza adományát.

Egész nap kivánságtól gyötretik; az igaz pedig ád, és nem tartóztatja meg [adományát.]

He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.

Toată ziua o duce numai în pofte: dar cel neprihănit dă fără zgârcenie. –

All day long he craves and craves, but the righteous gives and does not hold back.

Az istentelen áldozata utálatos, kivált, mikor gonosz tettért viszi.

Az istentelenek áldozatja útálatos; kivált mikor gonosz tettért viszi.

The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?

Jertfa celor răi este o scârbă înaintea Domnului, cu cât mai mult când o aduc cu gânduri nelegiuite. –

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination; how much more when he brings it with evil intent.

A hazug tanú elvész, aki viszont jól figyel, az mindig szólhat.

A hazug bizonyság elvész; a ki pedig [jól] figyelmez, örökké szól.

A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.

Martorul mincinos va pieri, dar omul care ascultă bine va vorbi totdeauna cu izbândă. –

A false witness will perish, but the word of a man who hears will endure.

Az istentelen ember megkeményíti az arcát, az igaz pedig jól intézi dolgát.

Megkeményíti az istentelen ember az ő orczáját; az igaz pedig jól rendeli az ő útát.

A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way.

Cel rău ia o înfăţişare neruşinată, dar omul fără prihană îşi îmbunătăţeşte calea. –

A wicked man puts on a bold face, but the upright gives thought to his ways.

Nincs bölcsesség, nincs értelem, és nincs tanács, amely megállna az ÚRral szemben.

Nincs bölcseség, és nincs értelem, és nincs tanács az Úr ellen.

There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.

Nici înţelepciunea, nici priceperea, nici sfatul n-ajută împotriva Domnului. –

No wisdom, no understanding, no counsel can avail against the LORD.

Föl van készítve a ló az ütközet napjára, de az ÚRé a szabadítás!

Készen áll a ló az ütközetnek napjára; de az Úré a megtartás!

The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.

Calul este pregătit pentru ziua bătăliei, dar biruinţa este a Domnului. –

The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the LORD.
