The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all.

Bogatul şi săracul se întâlnesc: Domnul i-a făcut şi pe unul şi pe altul.

Az eszes észreveszi a veszélyt, és elrejtőzik, a bolondok pedig nekimennek, és kudarcot vallanak.

Az eszes meglátja a bajt és elrejti magát; a bolondok pedig neki mennek és kárát vallják.

A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.

Omul chibzuit vede nenorocirea şi se ascunde, dar cei proşti merg înainte şi sunt pedepsiţi. –

The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.

By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.

Răsplata smereniei, a fricii de Domnul, este bogăţia, slava şi viaţa. –

The reward for humility and fear of the LORD is riches and honor and life.

Tövisek és kelepcék vannak a gonosz útján, aki vigyáz lelkére, messze elkerüli őket.

Tövisek [és] tőrök vannak a gonosznak útában; a ki megőrzi a maga lelkét, távol jár azoktól.

Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them.

Spini şi curse sunt pe calea omului stricat: cel ce-şi păzeşte sufletul se depărtează de ele. –

Thorns and snares are in the way of the crooked; whoever guards his soul will keep far from them.

Tanítsd a gyermeket, mely úton járjon: még ha megöregszik, akkor sem távolodik el attól.

Tanítsd a gyermeket az ő útjának módja szerint; még mikor megvénhedik is, el nem távozik attól.

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Învaţă pe copil calea pe care trebuie s-o urmeze, şi când va îmbătrâni, nu se va abate de la ea. –

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

A gazdag a szegényeken uralkodik, és szolgája a kölcsönvevő a kölcsönadónak.

The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.

Bogatul stăpâneşte peste cei săraci, şi cel ce ia cu împrumut este robul celui ce-i dă cu împrumut. –

The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender.

Aki álnokságot vet, nyomorúságot arat, és összetörik haragjának botja.

A ki vet álnokságot, arat nyomorúságot; és az ő haragjának vesszeje megtöretik.

He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity: and the rod of his anger shall fail.

Cine seamănă nelegiuire, nelegiuire va secera, şi nuiaua nelegiuirii lui este gata. –

Whoever sows injustice will reap calamity, and the rod of his fury will fail.

Az irgalmas szemű ember áldásban részesül, mert adott kenyeréből a szegénynek.

Az irgalmas szemű ember megáldatik, mert adott az ő kenyeréből a szegénynek.

He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.

Omul milostiv va fi binecuvântat, pentru că dă săracului din pâinea lui. –

Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.

Űzd el a csúfolódót, és elmegy vele a viszály is, megszűnik a veszekedés és a gyalázkodás.

Űzd el a csúfolót, és elmegy a háborgás is, és megszünik a patvarkodás és a szidalmazás.

Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease.

Izgoneşte pe batjocoritor, şi cearta se va sfârşi, neînţelegerile şi ocările vor înceta. –

Drive out a scoffer, and strife will go out, and quarreling and abuse will cease.

Aki szereti a szív tisztaságát, és beszéde kedves, annak barátja a király.

A ki szereti a szívnek tisztaságát, beszéde kedvesség: annak barátja a király.

He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend.

Cine iubeşte curăţia inimii şi are bunăvoinţa pe buze, este prieten cu împăratul. –

He who loves purity of heart, and whose speech is gracious, will have the king as his friend.

Az ÚR szeme megőrzi a tudást, a hűtlenek beszédét azonban felforgatja.

Az Úrnak szemei megőrzik a tudományt; a hitetlennek beszédét pedig felforgatja.

The eyes of the LORD preserve knowledge, and he overthroweth the words of the transgressor.

Ochii Domnului păzesc pe cel ce are ştiinţă, dar înfruntă cuvintele celui stricat. –

The eyes of the LORD keep watch over knowledge, but he overthrows the words of the traitor.

Azt mondja a lusta: Oroszlán van odakinn az utca közepén, és megöl engem!

A rest azt mondja: oroszlán van ottkin, az utczák közepén megölettetném.

The slothful man saith, There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets.

Leneşul zice: „Afară este un leu, care m-ar putea ucide pe uliţă!” –

The sluggard says, “There is a lion outside! I shall be killed in the streets!”

Mély verem az idegen asszony szája: beleesik az, akire haragszik az ÚR.

Mély verem az idegen asszonyoknak szája; a kire haragszik az Úr, oda esik.

The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: he that is abhorred of the LORD shall fall therein.

Gura curvelor este o groapă adâncă; pe cine vrea să-l pedepsească Domnul, acela cade în ea. –

The mouth of forbidden women is a deep pit; he with whom the LORD is angry will fall into it.

A gyermek szívéhez oda van kötve a bolondság, de a fenyítés vesszeje messze elűzi azt tőle.

A gyermek elméjéhez köttetett a bolondság; [de] a fenyítés vesszeje messze elűzi ő tőle azt.

Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

Nebunia este lipită de inima copilului, dar nuiaua certării o va dezlipi de el. –

Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline drives it far from him.

Aki elnyomja a szegényt, hogy gyarapítsa vagyonát, és aki a gazdagnak ad, az végül szűkölködni fog.

A ki elnyomja a szegényt, hogy szaporítsa az ő [marháját]; a ki ád a gazdagnak: végre szűkölködésre [jut.]

He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want.

Cine asupreşte pe sărac ca să-şi mărească avuţia, va trebui să dea şi el altuia mai bogat şi va duce lipsă. –

Whoever oppresses the poor to increase his own wealth, or gives to the rich, will only come to poverty.

Fordítsd ide a füledet, hallgasd a bölcsek beszédét, és vedd szívedre tudományomat.

Hajtsd füledet, és hallgasd a bölcseknek beszédeit; és a te elmédet figyelmeztesd az én tudományomra.

Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge.

Pleacă-ţi urechea şi ascultă cuvintele înţelepţilor, şi ia învăţătura mea în inimă. –

Incline your ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply your heart to my knowledge,

Mert gyönyörűséges az, ha megőrzöd azokat szívedben, hogy mindenkor ajkadon legyenek!

Mert gyönyörűséges lesz, ha megtartod azokat szívedben; legyenek együtt állandók a te ajkaidon!

For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee; they shall withal be fitted in thy lips.

Căci este bine să le păstrezi înăuntrul tău şi să-ţi fie toate deodată pe buze. –

for it will be pleasant if you keep them within you, if all of them are ready on your lips.

Az ÚRban legyen bizodalmad: erre tanítottalak ma téged, igen, téged.

Hogy az Úrban legyen a te bizodalmad, arra tanítottalak ma téged, igen, téged.

That thy trust may be in the LORD, I have made known to thee this day, even to thee.

Pentru ca să-ţi pui încrederea în Domnul, vreau să te învăţ eu astăzi, da, pe tine. –

That your trust may be in the LORD, I have made them known to you today, even to you.

Nem írtam-e neked hasznos tanácsokat és tanulságokat?

Nem írtam-é néked drága szép tanulságokat, tanácsokban és tudományban?

Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge,

N-am aşternut eu oare în scris pentru tine sfaturi şi cugetări,

Have I not written for you thirty sayings of counsel and knowledge,

Hogy tudtodra adjam: ez valóban az igazság beszéde, és hogy igaz beszédet vigyél válaszul azoknak, akik küldtek.

Hogy tudtodra adjam néked az igazság beszédinek bizonyos voltát: hogy igaz beszédet vígy válaszul elküldőidnek.

That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?

ca să te învăţ lucruri temeinice, cuvinte adevărate, ca să răspunzi cu vorbe adevărate celui ce te trimite? –

to make you know what is right and true, that you may give a true answer to those who sent you?

Ne rabold ki a szegényt, mert szegény ő, és ne tedd tönkre a nyomorultat a kapuban.

Ne rabold ki a szegényt, mert szegény ő; és meg ne rontsd a nyomorultat a kapuban;

Rob not the poor, because he is poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate:

Nu despuia pe sărac, pentru că este sărac, şi nu asupri pe nenorocitul care stă la poartă!

Do not rob the poor, because he is poor, or crush the afflicted at the gate,

Mert az ÚR tartja kézben ügyüket, és megrablójuk életét elragadja.

Mert az Úr forgatja azoknak ügyét, és az ő kirablóik életét elragadja.

For the LORD will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them.

Căci Domnul le va apăra pricina lor şi va despuia viaţa celor ce-i despoaie. –

for the LORD will plead their cause and rob of life those who rob them.

Ne tarts barátságot a haragos lelkűvel, és ne járj együtt az indulatossal,

Ne tarts barátságot a haragossal, és a dühösködővel ne menj;

Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go:

Nu te împrieteni cu omul mânios şi nu te însoţi cu omul iute la mânie,

Make no friendship with a man given to anger, nor go with a wrathful man,

hogy el ne tanuld útjait, és tőrt ne vess saját magadnak!

Hogy el ne tanuld az ő útait, és tőrt ne keress tennen magadnak.

Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.

ca nu cumva să te deprinzi cu cărările lui şi să-ţi ajungă o cursă pentru suflet. –

lest you learn his ways and entangle yourself in a snare.

Ne légy azok közt, akik kézbe csapnak, és adósságért kezességet vállalnak.

Ne légy azok közt, a kik kézbe csapnak, a kik adósságért kezeskednek.

Be not thou one of them that strike hands, or of them that are sureties for debts.

Nu fi printre cei ce pun chezăşii, printre cei ce dau zălog pentru datorii.

Be not one of those who give pledges, who put up security for debts.

Miért vegyék el az ágyat alólad, ha nincs miből megadnod tartozásukat?

Ha nincs néked miből megadnod; miért vegye el a te ágyadat te alólad?

If thou hast nothing to pay, why should he take away thy bed from under thee?

Căci dacă n-ai cu ce să plăteşti, pentru ce ai voi să ţi se ia patul de sub tine? –

If you have nothing with which to pay, why should your bed be taken from under you?

Ne mozdítsd el a régi határt, amelyet eleid állítottak.

Ne bontsd el a régi határt, melyet csináltak a te eleid.

Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.

Nu muta hotarul cel vechi, pe care l-au aşezat părinţii tăi. –

Do not move the ancient landmark that your fathers have set.

Láttál-e a dolgát szorgalmasan végző embert? A királyok előtt fog állni az, nem marad az alacsony rangúak között.

Láttál-é az ő dolgában szorgalmatos embert? A királyok előtt álland, nem marad meg az alsó rendűek között.

Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

Dacă vezi un om iscusit în lucrul lui, acela poate sta lângă împăraţi, nu lângă oamenii de rând.

Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.
