Amikor Jákób látta, hogy Egyiptomban van gabona, ezt mondta fiainak: Mit néztek egymásra?

Now when Jacob saw that there was corn in Egypt, Jacob said unto his sons, Why do ye look one upon another?

When Jacob learned that there was grain for sale in Egypt, he said to his sons, “Why do you look at one another?”

Íme, hallom, hogy Egyiptomban van gabona. Menjetek le oda, és vegyetek onnan gabonát, hogy életben maradjunk, és ne haljunk meg.

És monda: Ímé hallom hogy Égyiptomban van gabona; menjetek le oda, és vegyetek onnan nékünk gabonát, hogy éljünk és ne haljunk meg.

And he said, Behold, I have heard that there is corn in Egypt: get you down thither, and buy for us from thence; that we may live, and not die.

Şi a zis: „Iată, aud că este grâu în Egipt; coborâţi-vă şi cumpăraţi-ne grâu de acolo, ca să trăim şi să nu murim.”

And he said, “Behold, I have heard that there is grain for sale in Egypt. Go down and buy grain for us there, that we may live and not die.”

And Joseph's ten brethren went down to buy corn in Egypt.

So ten of Joseph’s brothers went down to buy grain in Egypt.

De Benjámint, József öccsét nem küldte el Jákób a bátyjaival, mert azt gondolta: Netalán veszedelem érhetné.

De Benjámint a József öcscsét nem bocsátá el Jákób az ő bátyjaival; mert mondá: Netalán veszedelem érhetné.

But Benjamin, Joseph's brother, Jacob sent not with his brethren; for he said, Lest peradventure mischief befall him.

Iacov n-a trimis cu ei pe Beniamin, fratele lui Iosif, de teamă să nu i se întâmple vreo nenorocire.

But Jacob did not send Benjamin, Joseph’s brother, with his brothers, for he feared that harm might happen to him.

Elmentek tehát Izráel fiai gabonát venni az odamenőkkel együtt, mert éhség volt Kánaán földjén.

And the sons of Israel came to buy corn among those that came: for the famine was in the land of Canaan.

Fiii lui Israel au venit să cumpere şi ei grâu, împreună cu cei ce veneau pentru acelaşi lucru; căci în Canaan era foamete.

Thus the sons of Israel came to buy among the others who came, for the famine was in the land of Canaan.

József pedig az ország kormányzója volt, és ő árulta a gabonát a föld minden népének. Mikor József bátyjai odaértek, arccal a földre borultak előtte.

József pedig az ország kormányzója vala, és ő árulja vala a gabonát a föld minden népének. Eljutának azért a József bátyjai, és arczczal a földre borúlának ő előtte.

And Joseph was the governor over the land, and he it was that sold to all the people of the land: and Joseph's brethren came, and bowed down themselves before him with their faces to the earth.

Iosif era mai mare în ţară; el vindea grâu la tot poporul din ţară. Fraţii lui Iosif au venit şi s-au aruncat cu faţa la pământ înaintea lui.

Now Joseph was governor over the land. He was the one who sold to all the people of the land. And Joseph’s brothers came and bowed themselves before him with their faces to the ground.

Amint meglátta a bátyjait, megismerte őket, de idegennek mutatta magát nekik. Keményen beszélt velük. Megkérdezte őket: Honnan jöttetek? Ők így feleltek: Kánaán földjéről jöttünk eleséget venni.

And Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but made himself strange unto them, and spake roughly unto them; and he said unto them, Whence come ye? And they said, From the land of Canaan to buy food.

Iosif, cum a văzut pe fraţii săi, i-a cunoscut; dar s-a făcut că le este străin, le-a vorbit aspru şi le-a zis: „De unde veniţi?” Ei au răspuns: „Venim din ţara Canaan ca să cumpărăm merinde.”

Joseph saw his brothers and recognized them, but he treated them like strangers and spoke roughly to them. “Where do you come from?” he said. They said, “From the land of Canaan, to buy food.”

And Joseph knew his brethren, but they knew not him.

Ekkor József visszaemlékezett az álmokra, amelyeket róluk álmodott. Így szólt nekik: Kémek vagytok, akik azért jöttetek, hogy az ország védtelen részeit megfigyeljétek.

És megemlékezék József az álmokról, a melyeket azok felől álmodott vala. És monda nékik: Kémek vagytok ti, kik azért jöttetek, hogy az ország védetlen részeit meglássátok.

And Joseph remembered the dreams which he dreamed of them, and said unto them, Ye are spies; to see the nakedness of the land ye are come.

Iosif şi-a adus aminte de visele pe care le visase cu privire la ei şi le-a zis: „Voi sunteţi iscoade; aţi venit numai ca să cercetaţi locurile slabe ale ţării.”

And Joseph remembered the dreams that he had dreamed of them. And he said to them, “You are spies; you have come to see the nakedness of the land.”

Ők így szóltak neki: Nem, uram, hanem eleséget venni jöttek a te szolgáid.

És mondának néki: Nem uram, hanem eleséget venni jöttek a te szolgáid.

And they said unto him, Nay, my lord, but to buy food are thy servants come.

Ei i-au răspuns: „Nu, domnul meu; robii tăi au venit să cumpere hrană.

They said to him, “No, my lord, your servants have come to buy food.

Mi mindnyájan egy ember fiai vagyunk. Becsületes emberek vagyunk, sohasem voltak kémek a te szolgáid.

We are all one man's sons; we are true men, thy servants are no spies.

We are all sons of one man. We are honest men. Your servants have never been spies.”

Ő így folytatta: Nem úgy van, hanem azért jöttetek, hogy az ország védtelen részeit megfigyeljétek.

Ismét monda: Nem úgy van, hanem azért jöttetek, hogy az ország védetlen részeit meglássátok.

And he said unto them, Nay, but to see the nakedness of the land ye are come.

El le-a zis: „Ba nu; aţi venit să cercetaţi locurile slabe ale ţării.”

He said to them, “No, it is the nakedness of the land that you have come to see.”

Amazok mondták: Tizenketten vagyunk testvérek mi, a te szolgáid, egy ember fiai Kánaán földjén, és íme, a legkisebb közülünk most atyánknál van, egyikünk pedig nincsen meg.

[Amazok] mondának: Mi, te szolgáid, tizenketten vagyunk testvérek, egy embernek fiai, Kanaán földén; és ímé legkisebbikünk most atyánknál van, egyikünk pedig nincsen meg.

And they said, Thy servants are twelve brethren, the sons of one man in the land of Canaan; and, behold, the youngest is this day with our father, and one is not.

Ei au răspuns: „Noi, robii tăi, suntem doisprezece fraţi, fii ai aceluiaşi om, din ţara Canaan; şi iată, cel mai tânăr este azi cu tatăl nostru, iar unul nu mai este în viaţă.”

And they said, “We, your servants, are twelve brothers, the sons of one man in the land of Canaan, and behold, the youngest is this day with our father, and one is no more.”

József erre így szólt nekik: Úgy van, ahogy mondtam nektek: kémek vagytok!

József pedig monda nékik: Úgy van a mint néktek mondám: kémek vagytok.

And Joseph said unto them, That is it that I spake unto you, saying, Ye are spies:

Iosif le-a zis: „V-am spus că sunteţi iscoade.

But Joseph said to them, “It is as I said to you. You are spies.

Ezzel lesztek próbára téve: Úgy éljen a fáraó, hogy ki nem mentek innen, míg ide nem jön a legkisebb testvéretek.

Hereby ye shall be proved: By the life of Pharaoh ye shall not go forth hence, except your youngest brother come hither.

Iată cum veţi fi încercaţi: Pe viaţa lui faraon că nu veţi ieşi de aici până nu va veni fratele vostru cel tânăr!

By this you shall be tested: by the life of Pharaoh, you shall not go from this place unless your youngest brother comes here.

Küldjétek el egyikőtöket érte, hogy hozza ide. Ti pedig fogságban lesztek. Így lesz próbára téve beszédetek, hogy igaz úton jártok-e, vagy nem. Úgy éljen a fáraó, hogy kémek vagytok.

Küldjetek el közűletek egyet, hogy hozza ide testvérteket; ti pedig fogva lesztek. Így lesz próbára téve beszédetek, hogy igaz járatban vagytok-é vagy nem? Úgy éljen a Faraó, hogy ti kémek vagytok.

Send one of you, and let him fetch your brother, and ye shall be kept in prison, that your words may be proved, whether there be any truth in you: or else by the life of Pharaoh surely ye are spies.

Trimiteţi pe unul din voi să aducă pe fratele vostru; iar voi, rămâneţi la opreală. Cuvintele voastre vor fi puse astfel la încercare şi voi şti dacă adevărul este cu voi sau nu; altfel, pe viaţa lui faraon că sunteţi nişte iscoade.”

Send one of you, and let him bring your brother, while you remain confined, that your words may be tested, whether there is truth in you. Or else, by the life of Pharaoh, surely you are spies.”

And he put them all together into ward three days.

And he put them all together in custody for three days.

Harmadnap pedig ezt mondta nekik József: Ezt cselekedjétek, hogy éljetek, hisz én is félem Istent:

And Joseph said unto them the third day, This do, and live; for I fear God:

A treia zi, Iosif le-a zis: „Faceţi lucrul acesta şi veţi trăi. Eu mă tem de Dumnezeu!

On the third day Joseph said to them, “Do this and you will live, for I fear God:

ha igaz emberek vagytok, maradjon fogva egyik testvéretek a ti tömlöcötökben, ti pedig menjetek el, vigyetek gabonát a házaitok szükségletére.

Ha igaz emberek vagytok, maradjon fogva egyik testvéretek a ti tömlöczötökben, ti pedig menjetek el, vigyetek gabonát házaitok szükségére.

If ye be true men, let one of your brethren be bound in the house of your prison: go ye, carry corn for the famine of your houses:

Dacă sunteţi oameni de treabă, să rămână unul din fraţii voştri închis în temniţa voastră; iar ceilalţi plecaţi luaţi grâu ca să vă hrăniţi familiile

if you are honest men, let one of your brothers remain confined where you are in custody, and let the rest go and carry grain for the famine of your households,

A legkisebbik testvéreteket pedig hozzátok hozzám! Akkor igazolva lesznek beszédeitek, és nem haltok meg. Ők pedig akképpen cselekedtek.

Legkisebbik atyátokfiát pedig hozzátok én hozzám, akkor igazolva lesznek beszédeitek és nem haltok meg. És aképen cselekedének.

But bring your youngest brother unto me; so shall your words be verified, and ye shall not die. And they did so.

şi aduceţi-mi pe fratele vostru cel tânăr, pentru ca vorbele voastre să fie puse astfel la încercare şi să scăpaţi de moarte.” Şi aşa au făcut.

and bring your youngest brother to me. So your words will be verified, and you shall not die.” And they did so.

És ezt mondták egymásnak: Bizony, vétkeztünk testvérünk ellen, akinek láttuk lelki szorongását, mikor nekünk könyörgött, de nem hallgattunk rá. Ezért következett ránk ez a nyomorúság.

És mondának egymásnak: Bizony vétkeztünk mi a mi atyánkfia ellen, a kinek láttuk lelki szorongását, mikor nékünk könyörög vala, de nem hallgattunk reá; azért következett reánk ez a nyomorúság.

And they said one to another, We are verily guilty concerning our brother, in that we saw the anguish of his soul, when he besought us, and we would not hear; therefore is this distress come upon us.

Ei au zis atunci unul către altul: „Da; am fost vinovaţi faţă de fratele nostru; căci am văzut neliniştea sufletului lui când ne ruga şi nu l-am ascultat! Pentru aceea vine peste noi necazul acesta.”

Then they said to one another, “In truth we are guilty concerning our brother, in that we saw the distress of his soul, when he begged us and we did not listen. That is why this distress has come upon us.”

Rúben pedig így felelt nekik: Nem mondtam-e nektek, hogy ne vétkezzetek a gyermek ellen? De nem hallgattatok rám. És íme, a vérét is keresik rajtunk!

Rúben pedig felele nékik, mondván: Avagy nem mondtam-é néktek, hogy ne vétkezzetek a gyermek ellen, de ti nem hallgattatok reám. És ímé vérét is keresik rajtunk!

And Reuben answered them, saying, Spake I not unto you, saying, Do not sin against the child; and ye would not hear? therefore, behold, also his blood is required.

Ruben a luat cuvântul şi le-a zis: „Nu vă spuneam eu să nu faceţi o astfel de nelegiuire faţă de băiatul acesta? Dar n-aţi ascultat. Acum iată că ni se cere socoteală pentru sângele lui.”

And Reuben answered them, “Did I not tell you not to sin against the boy? But you did not listen. So now there comes a reckoning for his blood.”

And they knew not that Joseph understood them; for he spake unto them by an interpreter.

Ei nu ştiau că Iosif îi înţelegea, căci vorbea cu ei printr-un tălmaci.

They did not know that Joseph understood them, for there was an interpreter between them.

És József elfordult tőlük, és sírt. Azután hozzájuk fordult, és beszélt velük. Simeont visszatartotta közülük, és szemük láttára megkötöztette.

És elfordula tőlök és síra: Azután hozzájok fordula és szóla nékik, és visszatartá közűlök Simeont, és szemök láttára megkötözteté őt.

And he turned himself about from them, and wept; and returned to them again, and communed with them, and took from them Simeon, and bound him before their eyes.

Iosif a plecat la o parte de la ei ca să plângă. În urmă s-a întors şi le-a vorbit; apoi a luat dintre ei pe Simeon şi a pus să-l lege cu lanţuri în faţa lor.

Then he turned away from them and wept. And he returned to them and spoke to them. And he took Simeon from them and bound him before their eyes.

Then Joseph commanded to fill their sacks with corn, and to restore every man's money into his sack, and to give them provision for the way: and thus did he unto them.

Iosif a poruncit să li se umple sacii cu grâu, să pună argintul fiecăruia în sacul lui şi să li se dea merinde pentru drum. Şi aşa s-a făcut.

And Joseph gave orders to fill their bags with grain, and to replace every man’s money in his sack, and to give them provisions for the journey. This was done for them.

Azután föltették a gabonájukat a szamaraikra, és elmentek.

And they laded their asses with the corn, and departed thence.

Ei şi-au încărcat grâul pe măgari şi au plecat.

Then they loaded their donkeys with their grain and departed.

Mikor pedig az egyikőjük kioldotta a zsákját, hogy abrakot adjon szamarának a szálláson, és meglátta a pénzét, hogy íme, ott van a zsákja szájában,

És egyik kioldá zsákját, hogy abrakot adjon szamarának a szálláson és meglátá az ő pénzét, hogy ímé zsákja szájában van az.

And as one of them opened his sack to give his ass provender in the inn, he espied his money; for, behold, it was in his sack's mouth.

Unul din ei şi-a deschis sacul ca să dea nutreţ măgarului în locul unde au mas peste noapte. A văzut argintul la gura sacului

And as one of them opened his sack to give his donkey fodder at the lodging place, he saw his money in the mouth of his sack.

így szólt a testvéreinek: Visszatették a pénzemet, íme, a zsákomban van. Akkor megrettent a szívük, és remegve mondták egymásnak: Micsoda ez, amit Isten cselekedett velünk?

És monda az ő atyjafiainak: Visszatették az én pénzemet, és ímé zsákomban van. Akkor megrettene szívök, és remegve mondának egymásnak: Micsoda ez, a mit Isten cselekedett velünk?

And he said unto his brethren, My money is restored; and, lo, it is even in my sack: and their heart failed them, and they were afraid, saying one to another, What is this that God hath done unto us?

şi a zis fraţilor săi: „Argintul meu mi s-a dat înapoi şi iată-l în sacul meu.” Atunci li s-a tăiat inima; şi au zis unul altuia tremurând: „Ce ne-a făcut Dumnezeu?”

He said to his brothers, “My money has been put back; here it is in the mouth of my sack!” At this their hearts failed them, and they turned trembling to one another, saying, “What is this that God has done to us?”

Amikor megérkeztek atyjukhoz, Jákóbhoz, Kánaán földjére, elbeszélték neki mindazt, ami velük történt, és ezt mondták:

És eljutának atyjokhoz Jákóbhoz Kanaán földére és mindazt elbeszélék néki a mi velök történt vala, mondván:

And they came unto Jacob their father unto the land of Canaan, and told him all that befell unto them; saying,

When they came to Jacob their father in the land of Canaan, they told him all that had happened to them, saying,

Az a férfi, annak a földnek az ura, keményen beszélt velünk, és úgy bánt velünk, mintha azt az országot kémleltük volna.

Az a férfiú, annak a földnek ura, keményen szóla nékünk, és úgy bánt velünk, mintha az országot kémleltük volna.

The man, who is the lord of the land, spake roughly to us, and took us for spies of the country.

„Omul acela, care este domnul ţării, ne-a vorbit aspru şi ne-a luat drept iscoade.

“The man, the lord of the land, spoke roughly to us and took us to be spies of the land.

De mi azt mondtuk neki: Igaz emberek vagyunk, soha nem voltunk kémek.

És mondánk néki: Igaz emberek vagyunk, [soha] nem voltunk mi kémek.

And we said unto him, We are true men; we are no spies:

Noi i-am spus: „Suntem oameni de treabă, nu suntem iscoade.

But we said to him, ‘We are honest men; we have never been spies.

Tizenketten vagyunk testvérek, atyánknak fiai, egyikünk nincs meg, a legkisebbikünk pedig most atyánkkal van Kánaán földjén.

Tizenketten vagyunk atyafiak, a mi atyánknak fiai, egyikünk nincs meg, legkisebbikünk pedig most atyánkkal [van] Kanaán földén.

We be twelve brethren, sons of our father; one is not, and the youngest is this day with our father in the land of Canaan.

Suntem doisprezece fraţi, fii ai tatălui nostru; unul nu mai este, şi cel mai tânăr este azi cu tatăl nostru în ţara Canaan.”

We are twelve brothers, sons of our father. One is no more, and the youngest is this day with our father in the land of Canaan.’

Erre így szólt nekünk az a férfi, annak a földnek ura: Erről tudom meg, hogy igaz emberek vagytok: egyik testvéreteket hagyjátok nálam, a házaitok szükségletére valót vigyétek, és menjetek el!

És monda nékünk az a férfiú, annak a földnek ura: Erről ismerem meg, hogy igaz emberek vagytok: egyik atyátokfiát hagyjátok nálam, a házaitok szükségére valót vigyétek, és menjetek el;

And the man, the lord of the country, said unto us, Hereby shall I know that ye are true men; leave one of your brethren here with me, and take food for the famine of your households, and be gone:

Şi omul acela, care este domnul ţării, ne-a zis: „Iată cum voi cunoaşte dacă sunteţi oameni de treabă. Lăsaţi la mine pe unul din fraţii voştri, luaţi merinde pentru familiile voastre, plecaţi

Then the man, the lord of the land, said to us, ‘By this I shall know that you are honest men: leave one of your brothers with me, and take grain for the famine of your households, and go your way.

És hozzátok el hozzám a legkisebb testvéreteket! Ebből megtudom, hogy nem vagytok kémek, hanem igaz emberek. Akkor visszaadom nektek testvéreteket, és kereskedhettek ebben az országban.

És hozzátok hozzám a ti legkisebbik atyátokfiát, akkor megtudom, hogy nem vagytok kémek, hanem igaz emberek; akkor visszaadom néktek a ti atyátokfiát, és ebben az országban kereskedhettek.

And bring your youngest brother unto me: then shall I know that ye are no spies, but that ye are true men: so will I deliver you your brother, and ye shall traffick in the land.

Bring your youngest brother to me. Then I shall know that you are not spies but honest men, and I will deliver your brother to you, and you shall trade in the land.’”

Miközben zsákjaikat kiürítették, íme, mindegyiknek a zsákjában ott volt a pénze. Amint látták a pénzüket, ők és az atyjuk, megijedtek.

És lőn a mint zsákjaikat kiüresíték, ímé az ő csomó pénze mindeniknek zsákjában vala. A mint látták az ő csomó pénzeiket ők és az ő atyjok, megfélemlének.

And it came to pass as they emptied their sacks, that, behold, every man's bundle of money was in his sack: and when both they and their father saw the bundles of money, they were afraid.

Când şi-au golit sacii, iată că legătura cu argintul fiecăruia era în sacul lui. Ei şi tatăl lor au văzut legăturile cu argintul şi s-au temut.

As they emptied their sacks, behold, every man’s bundle of money was in his sack. And when they and their father saw their bundles of money, they were afraid.

Ezt mondta nekik atyjuk, Jákób: Megfosztotok engem gyermekeimtől. József nincsen, Simeon sincsen. Benjámint is elviszitek? Mindez engem ér!

És monda nékik az ő atyjok Jákób: Megfosztotok engem gyermekeimtől; József nincsen, Simeon sincsen. Benjámint is elviszitek? mindez engem ér!

And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have ye bereaved of my children: Joseph is not, and Simeon is not, and ye will take Benjamin away: all these things are against me.

Tatăl lor, Iacov, le-a zis: „Voi mă lipsiţi de copii: Iosif nu mai este, Simeon nu mai este şi voiţi să luaţi şi pe Beniamin. Toate acestea pe mine mă lovesc!”

And Jacob their father said to them, “You have bereaved me of my children: Joseph is no more, and Simeon is no more, and now you would take Benjamin. All this has come against me.”

Akkor Rúben ezt mondta atyjának: Az én két fiamat öld meg, ha nem hozom vissza őt neked! Bízd a kezemre, és én visszahozom neked.

Akkor szóla Rúben az ő atyjának, mondván: az én két fiamat öld meg, ha meg nem hozom őt néked. Bízd az én kezemre őt, és én visszahozom néked.

And Reuben spake unto his father, saying, Slay my two sons, if I bring him not to thee: deliver him into my hand, and I will bring him to thee again.

Ruben a zis tatălui său: „Să-mi omori pe amândoi fiii mei, dacă nu-ţi voi aduce înapoi pe Beniamin; dă-l în mâna mea şi ţi-l voi aduce înapoi.”

Then Reuben said to his father, “Kill my two sons if I do not bring him back to you. Put him in my hands, and I will bring him back to you.”

Ő pedig így szólt: Nem megy le a fiam veletek, mert a bátyja meghalt, és egyedül ő maradt meg. Ha veszedelem érné az úton, amelyre indultok, ősz fejemet búba borítva bocsátanátok a sírba.

Az pedig monda: Nem megy le [oda] az én fiam ti veletek, mert az ő bátyja megholt és ő maga maradt meg; ha veszedelem érné őt az úton, a melyen elmentek, ősz fejemet búba borítva bocsátanátok le a koporsóba.

And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he is left alone: if mischief befall him by the way in the which ye go, then shall ye bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.

Iacov a zis: „Fiul meu nu se poate coborî împreună cu voi; căci fratele lui a murit, şi el a rămas singur; dacă i s-ar întâmpla vreo nenorocire în călătoria pe care o faceţi, cu durere îmi veţi coborî perii mei cei albi în Locuinţa morţilor.”

But he said, “My son shall not go down with you, for his brother is dead, and he is the only one left. If harm should happen to him on the journey that you are to make, you would bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to Sheol.”
