And Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his substance, which he had got in the land of Canaan; and went into the country from the face of his brother Jacob.

Esau şi-a luat nevestele, fiii şi fiicele, toată lumea din casă, turmele, toate vitele şi toată averea pe care şi-o agonisise în ţara Canaan şi s-a dus într-o altă ţară, departe de fratele său Iacov.

Then Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the members of his household, his livestock, all his beasts, and all his property that he had acquired in the land of Canaan. He went into a land away from his brother Jacob.

For their riches were more than that they might dwell together; and the land wherein they were strangers could not bear them because of their cattle.

Căci bogăţiile lor erau prea mari ca să poată locui împreună, şi ţinutul în care locuiau ca străini nu le mai putea ajunge din pricina turmelor lor.

For their possessions were too great for them to dwell together. The land of their sojournings could not support them because of their livestock.

Letelepedett tehát Ézsau a Széír hegyén. Ézsaut pedig Edómnak is nevezik.

Thus dwelt Esau in mount Seir: Esau is Edom.

(Timna was a concubine of Eliphaz, Esau’s son; she bore Amalek to Eliphaz.) These are the sons of Adah, Esau’s wife.

And Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom: and the name of his city was Dinhabah.

Majd meghalt Bela, és Jóbáb, Zerah fia uralkodott utána, aki Bocrából való volt.

És meghalt Husám, és Hadad uralkodott utána, Bedad fia, aki megverte a midjániakat Móáb mezején. A városának a neve Avít volt.

And Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Avith.

Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the country of Moab, reigned in his place, the name of his city being Avith.

And Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.

Ezek pedig az Ézsau nemzetségéből való nemzetségfők nevei, családjuk, lakóhelyük és nevük szerint: Timná nemzetségfő, Alvá nemzetségfő, Jetét nemzetségfő.

And these are the names of the dukes that came of Esau, according to their families, after their places, by their names; duke Timnah, duke Alvah, duke Jetheth,
