Járjátok be Jeruzsálem utcáit, és nézzetek csak körül, tudakozódjatok, és vizsgálódjatok terein! Találtok-e csak egy embert is, van-e valaki, aki törvényesen cselekszik, hűségre törekszik? És én megbocsátok e városnak.

Járjátok el Jeruzsálem utczáit, és nézzétek csak és tudjátok meg és tudakozzátok meg annak piaczain, ha találtok-é egy embert; ha van-é valaki, a ki igazán cselekszik, hűségre törekszik, és én megbocsátok néki!

Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it.

Cutreieraţi uliţele Ierusalimului, uitaţi-vă, întrebaţi şi căutaţi în pieţe, dacă se găseşte un om, dacă este vreunul care să înfăptuiască ce este drept, care să se ţină de adevăr, şi voi ierta Ierusalimul.

Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, look and take note! Search her squares to see if you can find a man, one who does justice and seeks truth, that I may pardon her.

Még ha azt mondják is, él az ÚR, bizony, hamisan esküsznek!

And though they say, The LORD liveth; surely they swear falsely.

Chiar când zic: „Viu este Domnul!”, ei jură strâmb.”

Though they say, “As the LORD lives,” yet they swear falsely.

URam, a te szemed vajon nem a hűséget nézi? Megverted őket, de nem bánkódtak, pusztítottad őket, de nem akarták magukra venni a dorgálást. Arcuk keményebb lett a kősziklánál, nem akartak megtérni.

Uram! a te szemeid avagy nem a hűségre [néznek]-é? Megverted őket, de nem bánkódtak; tönkre tetted őket, de nem akarják felvenni a dorgálást; orczáik keményebbekké lettek a kősziklánál; nem akartak megtérni.

O LORD, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.

Doamne, nu văd ochii Tăi adevărul? Tu-i loveşti, şi ei nu simt nimic; îi nimiceşti, şi nu vor să ia învăţătură; iau o înfăţişare mai tare decât stânca, nu vor să se întoarcă la Tine.

O LORD, do not your eyes look for truth? You have struck them down, but they felt no anguish; you have consumed them, but they refused to take correction. They have made their faces harder than rock; they have refused to repent.

Én pedig azt gondoltam: Bizonnyal a szerencsétlenek ilyen bolondok, mert nem ismerik az ÚR útját, Istenük törvényét!

Én pedig ezt mondom vala: Bizony szerencsétlenek ezek; bolondok, mert nem ismerik az Úrnak útját, Istenöknek ítéletét!

Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God.

Eu ziceam: „Numai cei mici sunt aşa; ei lucrează fără minte, pentru că nu cunosc calea Domnului, Legea Dumnezeului lor!

Then I said, “These are only the poor; they have no sense; for they do not know the way of the LORD, the justice of their God.

Majd elmegyek a főemberekhez, és beszélek velük, hiszen ők ismerik az ÚR útját, Istenük törvényét; de éppen ők törték össze egy akarattal az igát, és tépték le a köteleket!

Elmegyek azért a főemberekhez, és beszélek velök; hiszen ők ismerik az Úrnak útját, Istenöknek ítéletét! Ámde ők törték össze egyetemlegesen az igát, és tépték le a köteleket!

I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the LORD, and the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.

Mă voi duce deci la cei mari şi le voi vorbi; căci ei cunosc calea Domnului, Legea Dumnezeului lor!” Dar toţi au sfărâmat jugul şi au rupt legăturile.

I will go to the great and will speak to them, for they know the way of the LORD, the justice of their God.” But they all alike had broken the yoke; they had burst the bonds.

Ezért leteríti őket az erdőből kijövő oroszlán, elpusztítja őket a pusztai farkas, és párduc ólálkodik városaik körül. Aki csak kijön onnan, azt mind szétszaggatják, mert megsokasodtak bűneik, és elhatalmasodtak tévelygéseik.

Azért széttépi őket az oroszlán az erdőből, elpusztítja őket a puszták farkasa, párducz ólálkodik az ő városaik körül; a ki kijön azokból, mind szétszaggattatik; mert megsokasodtak az ő bűneik, és elhatalmasodtak az ő hitszegéseik.

Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased.

De aceea îi omoară leul din pădure şi-i nimiceşte lupul din pustiu. Stă la pândă pardosul înaintea cetăţilor lor: toţi cei ce vor ieşi din ele vor fi sfâşiaţi; căci fărădelegile lor sunt multe, abaterile lor s-au înmulţit!

Therefore a lion from the forest shall strike them down; a wolf from the desert shall devastate them. A leopard is watching their cities; everyone who goes out of them shall be torn in pieces, because their transgressions are many, their apostasies are great.

Ó, miért bocsátanék meg neked? Hiszen fiaid elhagytak engem, és azokra esküsznek, akik nem istenek. Bár jól tartottam őket, mégis paráználkodtak, és parázna házában tolongnak.

Oh, miért bocsátanék meg néked? Fiaid elhagytak engem, és azokra esküsznek, a kik nem istenek; noha jól tartottam őket, mégis paráználkodtak és tolongtak a parázna házába.

How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses.

„Cum să te iert? – zice Domnul – Copiii tăi M-au părăsit şi jură pe dumnezei care n-au fiinţă. Şi, după ce le-am primit jurămintele, se dedau la preacurvie şi aleargă cu grămada în casa curvei!

“How can I pardon you? Your children have forsaken me and have sworn by those who are no gods. When I fed them to the full, they committed adultery and trooped to the houses of whores.

Olyanok, mint a jól tartott, viháncoló lovak, mindegyik felebarátja feleségére nyerít.

[Mint a] hizlalt lovak, viczkándozókká lettek; kiki az ő felebarátjának feleségére nyerít.

They were as fed horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbour's wife.

Ca nişte cai bine hrăniţi, care aleargă încoace şi încolo, fiecare nechează după nevasta aproapelui său.

They were well-fed, lusty stallions, each neighing for his neighbor’s wife.

Vajon ne büntessem meg az ilyeneket – mondja az ÚR –, és ne álljon bosszút lelkem az ilyen népen?

Avagy ne büntessem-é meg az ilyeneket, mondja az Úr, és az e féle népen, mint ez, ne álljon-é bosszút az én lelkem?

Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

Să nu pedepsesc Eu aceste lucruri, zice Domnul, să nu Mă răzbun Eu pe un asemenea popor?

Shall I not punish them for these things? declares the LORD; and shall I not avenge myself on a nation such as this?

Menjetek föl szőlőhegyeire, és pusztítsátok, de ne semmisítsétek meg teljesen! Távolítsátok el az ágait, mert nem az ÚRéi azok!

Menjetek fel az ő kerítéseire és rontsátok, de ne tegyétek semmivé egészen! Távolítsátok el az ágait, mert nem az Úréi azok!

Go ye up upon her walls, and destroy; but make not a full end: take away her battlements; for they are not the LORD's.

Suiţi-vă pe zidurile ei şi dărâmaţi, dar nu nimiciţi de tot! Luaţi-i butucii aceştia, căci nu sunt ai Domnului!

“Go up through her vine rows and destroy, but make not a full end; strip away her branches, for they are not the LORD’s.

Mert igen hűtlenné lett hozzám Izráel és Júda háza! – ezt mondja az ÚR.

Mert igen hűtelenné lett hozzám az Izráel háza és a Júda háza, azt mondja az Úr!

For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against me, saith the LORD.

Căci casa lui Israel şi casa lui Iuda Mi-au fost necredincioase, zice Domnul.

For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have been utterly treacherous to me, declares the LORD.

Megtagadták az URat, és azt mondták: Nincsen ő, nem jöhet ránk veszedelem, nem látunk sem fegyvert, sem éhséget!

Megtagadták az Urat, és azt mondták: Nincsen ő, és nem jöhet reánk veszedelem: sem fegyvert, sem éhséget nem látunk!

They have belied the LORD, and said, It is not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:

Ei tăgăduiesc pe Domnul şi zic: „Nu este El! Şi nu va veni nenorocirea peste noi; nu vom vedea nici sabia, nici foametea.

They have spoken falsely of the LORD and have said, ‘He will do nothing; no disaster will come upon us, nor shall we see sword or famine.

A próféták is széllé válnak, és nem lesz bennük szó. Ez történik velük!

A próféták is széllé lesznek, és nem lesz, a ki beszéljen bennök: így esik az ő dolguk!

And the prophets shall become wind, and the word is not in them: thus shall it be done unto them.

Prorocii sunt vânt, şi nu Dumnezeu vorbeşte în ei. Aşa să li se facă şi lor!”

The prophets will become wind; the word is not in them. Thus shall it be done to them!’”

Azért azt mondja az ÚR, a Seregek Istene: Miután ti ilyen szóval szóltatok, íme, én tűzzé teszem szavamat a szádban, ezt a népet pedig fákká, hogy megeméssze őket!

Azért ezt mondja az Úr, a Seregeknek Istene: Miután ti ilyen szóval szóltatok: ímé tűzzé teszem az én igémet a te szádban, ezt a népet pedig fákká, hogy megemészsze őket!

Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.

De aceea aşa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeul oştirilor: „Pentru că aţi zis lucrul acesta, iată, cuvântul Meu îl fac foc în gura ta, şi poporul acesta, lemne, ca să-i ardă focul acesta.

Therefore thus says the LORD, the God of hosts: “Because you have spoken this word, behold, I am making my words in your mouth a fire, and this people wood, and the fire shall consume them.

Íme, egy messziről való nemzetet hozok rátok, Izráel háza! – ezt mondja az ÚR. Kemény nemzet, ősidőből való nemzet ez. Olyan nemzet, amelynek nyelvét nem tudod, és nem érted, mit beszél!

Ímé, én hozok reátok messzünnen való nemzetet, oh Izráel háza! ezt mondja az Úr. Kemény nemzet ez, ős időből való nemzet ez; nemzet, a melynek nyelvét nem tudod, és nem érted, mit beszél!

Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith the LORD: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say.

Iată, aduc de departe un neam împotriva voastră, casă a lui Israel – zice Domnul – un neam tare, un neam străvechi, un neam a cărui limbă n-o cunoşti şi ale cărui vorbe nu le pricepi.

Behold, I am bringing against you a nation from afar, O house of Israel, declares the LORD. It is an enduring nation; it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language you do not know, nor can you understand what they say.

Tegze olyan, mint a nyitott sír; mindnyájan vitézek.

Their quiver is as an open sepulchre, they are all mighty men.

Their quiver is like an open tomb; they are all mighty warriors.

Megemészti aratásodat és kenyeredet, megemészti fiaidat és leányaidat. Megemészti juhaidat és ökreidet, megemészti szőlődet és fügefádat. Megerősített városaidat, amelyekben bizakodsz, fegyverrel rontja le.

És megemészti aratásodat és kenyeredet; megemészti fiaidat és leányaidat; megemészti juhaidat és ökreidet; megemészti szőlődet és fügédet; erősített városaidat, a melyekben te bizakodol, fegyverrel rontja le.

And they shall eat up thine harvest, and thy bread, which thy sons and thy daughters should eat: they shall eat up thy flocks and thine herds: they shall eat up thy vines and thy fig trees: they shall impoverish thy fenced cities, wherein thou trustedst, with the sword.

El îţi va mânca secerişul şi pâinea, îţi va mânca fiii şi fiicele, îţi va mânca oile şi boii, îţi va mânca via şi smochinul; şi îţi va trece prin sabie cetăţile întărite în care te încrezi.

They shall eat up your harvest and your food; they shall eat up your sons and your daughters; they shall eat up your flocks and your herds; they shall eat up your vines and your fig trees; your fortified cities in which you trust they shall beat down with the sword.”

Nevertheless in those days, saith the LORD, I will not make a full end with you.

Dar, şi în zilele acelea, zice Domnul, nu vă voi nimici de tot.

“But even in those days, declares the LORD, I will not make a full end of you.

Ha pedig azt kérdezik: „Miért cselekedte velünk mindezt az ÚR, a mi Istenünk?”, akkor azt mondd nekik: Ahogyan elhagytatok engem, és idegen isteneknek szolgáltatok országotokban, ugyanúgy fogtok idegeneknek szolgálni olyan földön, amely nem a tiétek.

Ha pedig az lenne, hogy kérdeznétek: Miért cselekedte mindezt velünk az Úr, a mi Istenünk? akkor azt mondjad nékik: A miképen elhagytatok engem és idegen isteneknek szolgáltatok a ti földeteken: azonképen idegeneknek fogtok szolgálni olyan földön, a mely nem a tiétek.

And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these things unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not your's.

Dacă veţi întreba atunci: „Pentru ce ne-a făcut toate acestea Domnul Dumnezeul nostru?” Aşa le vei răspunde: „După cum voi M-aţi părăsit şi aţi slujit unor dumnezei străini în ţara voastră, tot aşa acum veţi sluji unor străini într-o ţară care nu este a voastră!”

And when your people say, ‘Why has the LORD our God done all these things to us?’ you shall say to them, ‘As you have forsaken me and served foreign gods in your land, so you shall serve foreigners in a land that is not yours.’”

Halljátok csak, ti bolond és esztelen nép, amelynek van szeme, de nem lát, van füle, de nem hall!

Halljátok csak, te bolond és esztelen nép, a kiknek szemeik vannak, de nem látnak; füleik vannak, de nem hallanak!

Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:

„Ascultaţi lucrul acesta, popor fără minte şi fără inimă, care are ochi şi nu vede, urechi, şi n-aude!

“Hear this, O foolish and senseless people, who have eyes, but see not, who have ears, but hear not.

Nem féltek engem? – ezt mondja az ÚR. Nem remegtek arcom előtt? Hiszen én rendeltem a homokból határt a tengernek örök korlátul, amelyet nem hághat át; ha háborgatják is habjai, nem bírnak vele, és ha zúgnak is hullámai, akkor sem hághatják át.

Nem féltek-é engem? ezt mondja az Úr. Az én orczám előtt nem remegtek-é? Hiszen én rendeltem a fövenyet a tenger határának örök korlátul, a melyet át nem hághat, és ha megrázkódtatják is habjai, de nem bírnak vele, és ha megháborodnak, sem hághatnak át rajta.

Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

Nu voiţi să vă temeţi de Mine, zice Domnul, nu voiţi să tremuraţi înaintea Mea?” – Eu am pus mării ca hotar nisipul, hotar veşnic pe care nu trebuie să-l treacă. Şi chiar dacă valurile ei se înfurie, totuşi sunt neputincioase; urlă, dar nu-l trec.

Do you not fear me? declares the LORD. Do you not tremble before me? I placed the sand as the boundary for the sea, a perpetual barrier that it cannot pass; though the waves toss, they cannot prevail; though they roar, they cannot pass over it.

De ennek a népnek szilaj és dacos szíve van, elfordultak és elmentek.

De ennek a népnek szilaj és daczos szíve van; elhajlottak és elmentek;

But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.

Poporul acesta însă are o inimă dârză şi răzvrătită; se răscoală şi pleacă,

But this people has a stubborn and rebellious heart; they have turned aside and gone away.

Még szívükben sem mondják: Ó, csak félnénk az URat, a mi Istenünket, aki esőt, korai és késői záport ad a megfelelő időben, és biztosítja nekünk az aratásra rendelt heteket.

És még szívökben sem mondják: Oh, csak félnők az Urat, a mi Istenünket, a ki esőt, korai és késői záport ad annak idejében; az aratásnak rendelt heteit megőrzi számunkra!

Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.

şi nu zic în inima lor: „Să ne temem de Domnul Dumnezeul nostru care dă ploaie la vreme, ploaie timpurie şi târzie şi ne păstrează săptămânile hotărâte pentru seceriş.”

They do not say in their hearts, ‘Let us fear the LORD our God, who gives the rain in its season, the autumn rain and the spring rain, and keeps for us the weeks appointed for the harvest.’

Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.

Din pricina nelegiuirilor voastre n-au loc aceste orânduiri, păcatele voastre vă lipsesc de aceste bunătăţi.

Your iniquities have turned these away, and your sins have kept good from you.

Mert istentelenek vannak népem között, lesben állnak, fülelnek, mint a madarászok, tőrt vetnek, hogy embereket fogjanak.

Mert istentelenek vannak az én népem között; guggolva fülelnek, mint a madarászok; tőrt hánynak, embereket fogdosnak.

For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.

Căci în poporul Meu sunt oameni răi; ei pândesc ca păsărarul care întinde laţuri, întind curse şi prind oameni.

For wicked men are found among my people; they lurk like fowlers lying in wait. They set a trap; they catch men.

As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich.

Cum se umple o colivie de păsări, aşa se umplu casele lor prin vicleşug; aşa ajung ei puternici şi bogaţi.

Like a cage full of birds, their houses are full of deceit; therefore they have become great and rich;

Meghíztak, kövérek lettek, gonosz beszédük csak úgy árad. Az árvák ügyét nem ítélik igaz ítélettel, hogy boldogulhassanak, és a szegényeknek sem szolgáltatnak igazságot.

Meghíztak, megfényesedtek; eláradtak a gonosz beszédben; az árvának ügyét nem ítélik igaz ítélettel, hogy boldoguljanak; sem a szegényeknek nem szolgáltatnak igazságot.

They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.

Se îngraşă, lucesc de grăsime; întrec orice măsură în rău, nu apără pricina, pricina orfanului, ca să le meargă bine, nu fac dreptate celor lipsiţi.

they have grown fat and sleek. They know no bounds in deeds of evil; they judge not with justice the cause of the fatherless, to make it prosper, and they do not defend the rights of the needy.

Hát ne büntessem meg ezeket – ezt mondja az ÚR –, ne álljon bosszút lelkem az ilyen nemzeten?

Hát ezeket ne büntessem-é meg, ezt mondja az Úr; az ilyen nemzeten, mint ez, avagy ne álljon-é bosszút az én lelkem?

Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

Shall I not punish them for these things? declares the LORD, and shall I not avenge myself on a nation such as this?”

A próféták hamisan prófétálnak, a papok tetszésük szerint hatalmaskodnak, és népem így szereti! De mit tesztek majd, ha eljön a vég?

The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?

Prorocii prorocesc neadevăruri, preoţii stăpânesc cu ajutorul lor, şi poporului Meu îi plac aceste lucruri. Dar ce veţi face la urmă?”

the prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule at their direction; my people love to have it so, but what will you do when the end comes?
