Ez az a beszéd, amelyet az ÚR Jeremiás prófétának a filiszteusokról mondott, mielőtt a fáraó leverte Gázát.

The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before that Pharaoh smote Gaza.

Iată cuvântul Domnului spus prorocului Ieremia cu privire la filisteni, înainte ca faraon să bată Gaza:

The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the Philistines, before Pharaoh struck down Gaza.

Azt mondja az ÚR: Íme, víz indul el északról, és olyan lesz, mint a megáradt folyó. Elárasztja az országot és benne mindent, a városokat és annak lakosait. Az emberek kiáltanak, jajgat a föld minden lakosa.

Ezt mondja az Úr: Ímé, víz indul meg északról, [és olyan] lesz, [mint] a kiáradott folyó, és elárasztja a földet és annak mindenét, a várost és annak lakosait, és kiáltanak az emberek, és a föld minden lakosa ordít.

Thus saith the LORD; Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall be an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is therein; the city, and them that dwell therein: then the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall howl.

Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: „Iată, se ridică nişte ape de la miazănoapte, cresc ca un râu ieşit din matcă; îneacă ţara şi ce cuprinde ea, cetatea şi locuitorii ei. Ţipă oamenii şi se bocesc toţi locuitorii ţării

“Thus says the LORD: Behold, waters are rising out of the north, and shall become an overflowing torrent; they shall overflow the land and all that fills it, the city and those who dwell in it. Men shall cry out, and every inhabitant of the land shall wail.

Mert hangosan csattog ménjeinek patája, robognak harci szekerei, dübörögnek kerekei. Az apák nem gondolnak a fiakkal erejük ellankadása miatt,

Ménei patáinak csattogó hangjától, szekereinek zörgésétől, kerekeinek zúgásától nem gondolnak az atyák a fiakra erejök ellankadása miatt.

At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong horses, at the rushing of his chariots, and at the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers shall not look back to their children for feebleness of hands;

de tropăitul copitelor cailor lui puternici, de uruitul carelor lui şi de scârţâitul roţilor; părinţii nu se mai întorc spre copiii lor, atât le sunt de slăbite mâinile,

mert eljön az a nap, amely elpusztítja egész Filiszteát, kiirtja Tíruszt és Szidónt és segítőinek minden maradékát, mert lerontja az ÚR Filiszteát, a Kaftór-szigeten lakók maradékát.

És a nap miatt, mely eljött, hogy elpusztítsa egész Filiszteát, kivágja Tírust és Szidont [és] segítségének minden megmaradt [töredékét,] mert az Úr elrontja Filiszteát, a Káftor szigetének maradékát.

Because of the day that cometh to spoil all the Philistines, and to cut off from Tyrus and Zidon every helper that remaineth: for the LORD will spoil the Philistines, the remnant of the country of Caphtor.

pentru că vine ziua când vor fi nimiciţi toţi filistenii, şi stârpiţi toţi cei ce slujeau ca ajutoare Tirului şi Sidonului. Căci Domnul va nimici pe filisteni, rămăşiţele ostrovului Caftor.

because of the day that is coming to destroy all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Sidon every helper that remains. For the LORD is destroying the Philistines, the remnant of the coastland of Caphtor.

Kopasszá lesz Gáza, elnémul Askelón. Völgyüknek maradék népe, meddig vagdalod magadat?

Kopaszság lepte meg Gázát, Askalon elnémult, maradéka az ő völgyüknek: meddig vagdalod magadat?

Baldness is come upon Gaza; Ashkelon is cut off with the remnant of their valley: how long wilt thou cut thyself?

Gaza a ajuns pleşuvă, Ascolanul piere cu rămăşiţa văilor lui! „Până când îţi vei face tăieturi de jale în piele? –

Baldness has come upon Gaza; Ashkelon has perished. O remnant of their valley, how long will you gash yourselves?

Jaj, ÚRnak szablyája, meddig nem nyugszol még? Rejtsd magadat hüvelyedbe, nyugodj meg, és maradj veszteg!

Oh szablyája az Úrnak, meddig nem nyugszol meg? Rejtsd el magadat a te hüvelyedbe, nyugodjál meg és hallgass!

O thou sword of the LORD, how long will it be ere thou be quiet? put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.

Ah! sabie a Domnului, când te vei odihni odată? Întoarce-te în teacă, opreşte-te şi fii liniştită! –

Ah, sword of the LORD! How long till you are quiet? Put yourself into your scabbard; rest and be still!

Hogyan nyugodhatna meg, hiszen az ÚR parancsolt neki? Odarendelte azt Askelón és a tenger partja ellen.

Miképen nyughatik meg, holott az Úr parancsolt néki? Askalonra és a tenger partjára oda rendelte őt.

How can it be quiet, seeing the LORD hath given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? there hath he appointed it.

Dar cum ar putea să se odihnească, când Domnul doar îi porunceşte şi o îndreaptă împotriva Ascalonului şi coastei mării?”

How can it be quiet when the LORD has given it a charge? Against Ashkelon and against the seashore he has appointed it.”
