Ezt a beszédet mondta az ÚR Jeremiásnak, amikor Cidkijjá király elküldte hozzá Pashúrt, Malkijjá fiát és Cefanjá papot, Maaszéjá fiát ezzel az üzenettel:

Ez a beszéd, a melyet szóla az Úr Jeremiásnak, mikor elküldé hozzá Sedékiás király Passúrt Melkiásnak fiát, és Sofóniást a Maásiás pap fiát, mondván:

The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, when king Zedekiah sent unto him Pashur the son of Melchiah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, saying,

Cuvântul spus lui Ieremia din partea Domnului, când i-a trimis împăratul Zedechia pe Paşhur, fiul lui Malchia, şi pe Ţefania, fiul lui Maaseia, preotul, ca să-i zică:

This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, when King Zedekiah sent to him Pashhur the son of Malchiah and Zephaniah the priest, the son of Maaseiah, saying,

Kérdezd meg most értünk az URat, mert Nebukadneccar, a babilóni király hadba szállt ellenünk! Vajon tesz-e velünk csodát az ÚR, mint már annyiszor, és elvonul-e az ellenség?

Kérdezd meg most érettünk az Urat, mert Nabukodonozor, a babiloni király viaskodik ellenünk, ha cselekszik-é az Úr velünk minden ő csodái szerint, hogy elhagyjon minket?

Enquire, I pray thee, of the LORD for us; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon maketh war against us; if so be that the LORD will deal with us according to all his wondrous works, that he may go up from us.

„Întreabă pe Domnul pentru noi; căci Nebucadneţar, împăratul Babilonului, este în război cu noi! Poate că Domnul va face pentru noi vreuna din minunile Lui, ca să-l depărteze de la noi.”

“Inquire of the LORD for us, for Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon is making war against us. Perhaps the LORD will deal with us according to all his wonderful deeds and will make him withdraw from us.”

Jeremiás azt mondta nekik: Ezt mondjátok Cidkijjának:

És monda nékik Jeremiás: Ezt mondjátok Sedékiásnak.

Then said Jeremiah unto them, Thus shall ye say to Zedekiah:

Ieremia le-a răspuns: „Să spuneţi lui Zedechia:

Then Jeremiah said to them: “Thus you shall say to Zedekiah,

Így szól az ÚR, Izráel Istene: Íme, megfordítok minden hadi szerszámot, amely kezetekben van, amelyekkel a babilóni király ellen és a káldeusok ellen harcoltok, akik a kőfalon túlról ostromolnak titeket, és ide gyűjtöm őket a város közepére.

Így szól az Úr, Izráel Istene: Ímé, én elfordítok minden hadi szerszámot, a melyek a ti kezeitekben vannak, a melyekkel ti a babiloni király ellen és a Kaldeusok ellen viaskodtok, a kik kivül a kőfalon ostromolnak titeket, és begyűjtöm őket e városnak közepébe;

Thus saith the LORD God of Israel; Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, wherewith ye fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans, which besiege you without the walls, and I will assemble them into the midst of this city.

„Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeul lui Israel: „Iată, voi întoarce armele de război care sunt în mâinile voastre şi cu care vă luptaţi în afară de ziduri împotriva împăratului Babilonului şi împotriva haldeilor care vă împresoară şi le voi strânge în mijlocul cetăţii acesteia.

‘Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel: Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands and with which you are fighting against the king of Babylon and against the Chaldeans who are besieging you outside the walls. And I will bring them together into the midst of this city.

Én magam vívok ellenetek kinyújtott kézzel, nagy, erős karral, izzó haraggal és nagy felindulással.

És én kinyujtott kézzel vívok ellenetek és nagy erős karral és haraggal, búsulással és nagy felindulással.

And I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath.

Apoi Eu însumi voi lupta împotriva voastră cu mâna întinsă şi cu braţ tare, cu mânie, urgie şi mare supărare.

I myself will fight against you with outstretched hand and strong arm, in anger and in fury and in great wrath.

Megverem e város lakóit, mind az embereket, mind az állatokat, és nagy dögvészben halnak meg.

És megverem e városnak lakosait, mind az embert, mind a barmot; nagy döghalállal halnak meg.

And I will smite the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast: they shall die of a great pestilence.

Voi lovi pe locuitorii cetăţii acesteia, atât oameni, cât şi dobitoace, şi vor muri de o ciumă grozavă.

And I will strike down the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast. They shall die of a great pestilence.

És azután – ezt mondja az ÚR – Cidkijját, Júda királyát, szolgáit, népét és azokat, akik megmaradnak ebben a városban a dögvész, fegyver és éhínség után, odaadom Nebukadneccar babilóni királynak és ellenségeinek a kezébe és mindazoknak a kezébe, akik keresik lelküket. Megöli őket éles fegyverével, nem kedvez nekik, nem kíméli meg őket, és nem könyörül rajtuk.

És azután, azt mondja az Úr, Sedékiást a Júda királyát, és az ő szolgáit, és a népet, és a kik megmaradnak e városban a döghaláltól, a fegyvertől és az éhségtől: odaadom Nabukodonozornak, a babiloni királynak kezébe és az ő ellenségeiknek kezébe és azoknak kezébe, a kik keresik az ő lelköket, és megöli őket éles fegyverrel: nem kedvez nékik, nem enged és nem könyörül rajtok.

And afterward, saith the LORD, I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, and such as are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those that seek their life: and he shall smite them with the edge of the sword; he shall not spare them, neither have pity, nor have mercy.

După aceea – zice Domnul – voi da pe Zedechia, împăratul lui Iuda, pe slujitorii lui, pe popor şi pe cei ce vor scăpa în cetatea aceasta de ciumă, de sabie şi de foamete, îi voi da în mâinile lui Nebucadneţar, împăratul Babilonului, în mâinile vrăjmaşilor lor, în mâinile celor ce vor să le ia viaţa; şi Nebucadneţar îi va trece prin ascuţişul sabiei, nu-i va cruţa, nu va avea nicio milă de ei şi nu se va îndura de ei.”

Afterward, declares the LORD, I will give Zedekiah king of Judah and his servants and the people in this city who survive the pestilence, sword, and famine into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and into the hand of their enemies, into the hand of those who seek their lives. He shall strike them down with the edge of the sword. He shall not pity them or spare them or have compassion.’

Azután ezt mondd ennek a népnek: Azt mondja az ÚR: Íme, elétek adom az élet útját és a halál útját.

Azután ezt mondjad e népnek: Ezt mondja az Úr: Ímé, én előtökbe adom néktek az élet útját és a halál útját.

And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.

Iar poporului acestuia să-i spui: „Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: „Iată că vă pun înainte calea vieţii şi calea morţii.

“And to this people you shall say: ‘Thus says the LORD: Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death.

Aki a városban marad, annak fegyver, éhínség és dögvész miatt kell meghalnia, aki pedig kimegy, és csatlakozik a káldeusokhoz, akik ostromolnak titeket, az életben marad, és ajándékul kapja lelkét.

A ki e városban lakik, fegyver, éhség és döghalál miatt kell meghalnia; a ki pedig kimegy belőle és a Kaldeusokhoz megy, a kik megostromolnak titeket, él, és az ő lelkét zsákmányul nyeri;

He that abideth in this city shall die by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goeth out, and falleth to the Chaldeans that besiege you, he shall live, and his life shall be unto him for a prey.

Cine va rămâne în cetatea aceasta va muri ucis de sabie, de foamete sau de ciumă; dar cine va ieşi să se ducă la haldeii care vă împresoară va scăpa cu viaţă, care va fi singura lui pradă.

He who stays in this city shall die by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence, but he who goes out and surrenders to the Chaldeans who are besieging you shall live and shall have his life as a prize of war.

Mert arcomat e város ellen fordítottam annak veszedelmére és nem megszabadulására – ezt mondja az ÚR. A város a babilóni király kezébe jut, és ő tűzzel égeti föl.

Mert orczámat e város veszedelmére fordítottam és nem megszabadulására, azt mondja az Úr: A babiloni király kezébe adatik, és tűzzel égeti meg azt!

For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, saith the LORD: it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.

Căci Eu Îmi îndrept privirile împotriva cetăţii acesteia ca să-i fac rău, nu bine, zice Domnul; ea va fi dată în mâinile împăratului Babilonului, care o va arde cu foc.”

For I have set my face against this city for harm and not for good, declares the LORD: it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.’

Júda királyi házának pedig mondd meg: Halljátok meg az ÚR szavát!

Júda királya házának [mondd meg]: Halljátok meg az Úr szavát!

And touching the house of the king of Judah, say, Hear ye the word of the LORD;

Şi să spui casei împăratului lui Iuda: „Ascultaţi cuvântul Domnului,

“And to the house of the king of Judah say, ‘Hear the word of the LORD,

Dávid háza, ezt mondja az ÚR: Hozzatok igaz ítéletet idejében, mentsétek meg a nyomorultat a nyomorgató kezéből, különben cselekedeteik gonoszsága miatt kitör haragom, mint a tűz; fölgerjed, és nem lesz, aki el tudná oltani.

Dávidnak háza, ezt mondja az Úr: Hamarsággal tegyetek igaz ítéletet, a nyomorultat mentsétek meg a nyomorgatónak kezéből, különben az én haragom kitör, mint a tűz és felgerjed, és nem lesz, a ki megolthassa, az ő cselekedeteiknek gonoszsága miatt.

O house of David, thus saith the LORD; Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver him that is spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

casă a lui David! Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: „Faceţi dreptate dis-de-dimineaţă şi scoateţi pe cel asuprit din mâinile asupritorului, ca să nu izbucnească mânia Mea ca un foc şi să se aprindă fără să se poată stinge, din pricina răutăţii faptelor voastre!

O house of David! Thus says the LORD: “‘Execute justice in the morning, and deliver from the hand of the oppressor him who has been robbed, lest my wrath go forth like fire, and burn with none to quench it, because of your evil deeds.’”

Íme, rátok támadok, akik a völgyben laktok és a fennsík szirtjein – így szól az ÚR –, akik azt gondoljátok: Kicsoda törhet ránk, és kicsoda jöhet be lakóhelyünkre?

Ímé, én reátok [megyek,] te völgy lakója [és] síkságnak szirtje; azt mondja az Úr, a kik azt mondjátok: Kicsoda jön le mi ellenünk, és kicsoda jön be a mi házainkba?

Behold, I am against thee, O inhabitant of the valley, and rock of the plain, saith the LORD; which say, Who shall come down against us? or who shall enter into our habitations?

Iată, am necaz pe tine, cetate aşezată în vale, pe stânca din câmpie, zice Domnul, pe voi care ziceţi: „Cine se va coborî împotriva noastră? Cine va intra în locuinţele noastre?”

“Behold, I am against you, O inhabitant of the valley, O rock of the plain, declares the LORD; you who say, ‘Who shall come down against us, or who shall enter our habitations?’

Cselekedeteitek gyümölcse szerint büntetlek meg benneteket – azt mondja az ÚR. Tüzet gyújtok erdőtökben, és az körös-körül mindent megemészt!

És a ti cselekedeteiteknek gyümölcse szerint fenyítlek meg titeket, azt mondja az Úr, és tüzet gyújtok az ő erdejében, és köröskörül [az] mindent megemészt!

But I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings, saith the LORD: and I will kindle a fire in the forest thereof, and it shall devour all things round about it.

Vă voi pedepsi după rodul faptelor voastre, zice Domnul, voi pune foc pădurii voastre, şi-i va mânca toate împrejurimile.”

I will punish you according to the fruit of your deeds, declares the LORD; I will kindle a fire in her forest, and it shall devour all that is around her.”
