And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita.

A barbárok pedig nem mindennapi emberséget tanúsítottak irántunk, mert tüzet raktak, és befogadtak mindnyájunkat a zuhogó eső és a hideg elől.

A barbárok pedig nem közönséges emberséget cselekesznek vala mi velünk: mert tüzet gerjesztvén, befogadának mindnyájónkat a rajtunk való záporért és a hidegért.

And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.

Barbarii ne-au arătat o bunăvoinţă puţin obişnuită; ne-au primit pe toţi la un foc mare, pe care-l aprinseseră din pricină că ploua şi se lăsase un frig mare.

The native people showed us unusual kindness, for they kindled a fire and welcomed us all, because it had begun to rain and was cold.

Amikor pedig Pál felmarkolt egy nyaláb rőzsét, és a tűzre vetette, egy vipera a melegből kimászva a kezére ragadt.

Mikor pedig Pál nagy sok venyigét szedett és a tűzre tette, egy vipera a melegből kimászva, az ő kezére ragada.

And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

Pavel strânsese o grămadă de mărăcini şi-i pusese pe foc; o năpârcă a ieşit afară din pricina căldurii şi s-a lipit de mâna lui.

When Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and put them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat and fastened on his hand.

Amikor a barbárok meglátták a kezéről lecsüngő mérges kígyót, azt mondták egymásnak: Nyilván gyilkos ez az ember, akit nem hagyott élni az isteni igazságszolgáltatás, noha a tengerből megszabadult.

Mikor pedig látták a barbárok az ő kezéről függeni a mérges kígyót, mondják vala egymásnak: Nyilván gyilkos ez az ember, kit nem hagya élni a bosszúállás, noha a tengerből megszabadult.

And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

Barbarii, când au văzut năpârca spânzurată de mâna lui, au zis unii către alţii: „Cu adevărat omul acesta este un ucigaş, căci „Dreptatea” nu vrea să-l lase să trăiască, măcar că a fost scăpat din mare.”

When the native people saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer. Though he has escaped from the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live.”

Ő azonban lerázta a kígyót a tűzbe, és semmi baja sem lett.

De néki, minekutána a kígyót lerázta a tűzbe, semmi baja sem lőn.

And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

Pavel a scuturat năpârca în foc şi n-a simţit niciun rău.

He, however, shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm.

Azok pedig azt várták, hogy megdagad, vagy nagy hirtelen holtan esik össze. Mikor azonban sokáig vártak, és látták, hogy semmi baja nem lett, megváltoztatták véleményüket, és azt mondták, hogy isten.

Azok pedig azt várják vala, hogy ő meg fog dagadni, vagy nagyhirtelenséggel halva rogyik le. Mikor azonban sok ideig várták, és látták, hogy semmi baja nem lesz, megváltoztatva értelmöket, istennek mondják vala őt.

Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

Oamenii aceia se aşteptau să-l vadă umflându-se sau căzând deodată mort; dar, după ce au aşteptat mult şi au văzut că nu i se întâmplă niciun rău, şi-au schimbat părerea şi ziceau că este un zeu.

They were waiting for him to swell up or suddenly fall down dead. But when they had waited a long time and saw no misfortune come to him, they changed their minds and said that he was a god.

Annak a helynek a környékén volt a sziget főemberének, név szerint Publiusznak a birtoka, aki befogadott és három napig nagyon emberségesen vendégül látott minket.

Annak a helynek környékén valának pedig a sziget főemberének, névszerint Publiusnak mezei jószágai, ki befogadván minket, három napig nagy emberségesen vendégül látott.

In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously.

În împrejurimi erau moşiile mai marelui ostrovului, numit Publius. El ne-a primit şi ne-a ospătat cu cea mai mare bunăvoinţă trei zile.

Now in the neighborhood of that place were lands belonging to the chief man of the island, named Publius, who received us and entertained us hospitably for three days.

Publiusz apja pedig történetesen magas lázzal vérhasban feküdt. Pál bement hozzá, és miután imádkozott, kezét rátette, és meggyógyította.

Lőn pedig, hogy a Publius atyja hideglelésben és vérhasban betegen feküvék. Kihez Pál beméne, és minekutána könyörgött, kezeit reá vetve meggyógyítá őt.

And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.

Tatăl lui Publius zăcea atunci în pat, bolnav de friguri şi de urdinare. Pavel s-a dus la el, s-a rugat, a pus mâinile peste el şi l-a vindecat.

It happened that the father of Publius lay sick with fever and dysentery. And Paul visited him and prayed, and putting his hands on him, healed him.

Miután ez megtörtént, mások is, akik betegek voltak a szigeten, eljöttek hozzá, és meggyógyultak.

Minekutána azért ez megtörtént, egyebek is, kik betegek valának a szigeten, ő hozzá jövének és meggyógyulának.

So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:

Atunci au venit şi ceilalţi bolnavi din ostrovul acela şi au fost vindecaţi.

And when this had taken place, the rest of the people on the island who had diseases also came and were cured.

Ezért igen nagy megbecsülésben volt részünk, és amikor elhajóztunk, a szükséges dolgokkal elláttak bennünket.

Kik nékünk nagy tisztességet is tőnek, és mikor elindulánk, a szükséges dolgokkal ellátának.

Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary.

Ni s-a dat mare cinste; şi, la plecarea noastră cu corabia, ne-au dat tot ce ne trebuia pentru drum.

They also honored us greatly, and when we were about to sail, they put on board whatever we needed.

Három hónap múlva ugyanis elindultunk egy alexandriai hajón, amely a szigeten telelt, és amely a Dioszkurok jelvényét viselte.

Három hónap mulva tudniillik egy Alexandriába való hajón elindulánk, mely a szigeten telelt, melynek czímere Kásztor és Pollux vala.

And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux.

După o şedere de trei luni, am pornit cu o corabie din Alexandria care iernase în ostrov şi care purta semnul Dioscurilor.

After three months we set sail in a ship that had wintered in the island, a ship of Alexandria, with the twin gods as a figurehead.

Szirakuzába érkezve ott maradtunk három napig.

És Szirakúzába eljutván, ott maradánk három napig.

And landing at Syracuse, we tarried there three days.

Am ajuns la Siracusa şi am rămas acolo trei zile.

Putting in at Syracuse, we stayed there for three days.

Onnan a partot körülhajózva eljutottunk Régiumba, majd egy nap múlva déli szél támadt, így másnap megérkeztünk Puteoliba.

Onnét körülkerülvén, eljutánk Régiumba, és egy nap mulva déli szél támadván, másnap megérkezénk Puteóliba.

And from thence we fetched a compass, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli:

De acolo, am mers înainte pe lângă coastă şi am venit la Regio; iar a doua zi, fiindcă sufla vântul de miazăzi, după două zile am venit la Puzole,

And from there we made a circuit and arrived at Rhegium. And after one day a south wind sprang up, and on the second day we came to Puteoli.

Itt testvérekre találtunk, akik kérték, hogy maradjunk náluk hét napig. Ezután mentünk Rómába.

Hol mikor atyafiakat találtunk, kérének minket, hogy nálok maradjunk hét napig; és úgy menénk Rómába.

Where we found brethren, and were desired to tarry with them seven days: and so we went toward Rome.

unde am dat peste nişte fraţi care ne-au rugat să mai rămânem şapte zile cu ei. Şi aşa am ajuns la Roma.

There we found brothers and were invited to stay with them for seven days. And so we came to Rome.

Az ottani testvérek pedig, amikor hallottak jövetelünkről, elénk jöttek Appiusz fórumáig és a Tres Tabernaeig. Amikor Pál meglátta őket, hálát adott Istennek, és bizakodó lett.

Onnét is az atyafiak, mikor a mi dolgainkat meghallották, nékünk előnkbe jövének Appii Forumig és Tres Tabernaeig. És mikor Pál meglátta őket, hálákat adván az Istennek, bátorságot vőn.

And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.

Din Roma ne-au ieşit înainte, până în „Forul lui Apiu” şi până la „Cele trei cârciumi”, fraţii care auziseră despre noi. Când i-a văzut Pavel, a mulţumit lui Dumnezeu şi s-a îmbărbătat.

And the brothers there, when they heard about us, came as far as the Forum of Appius and Three Taverns to meet us. On seeing them, Paul thanked God and took courage.

Amikor megérkeztünk Rómába, Pálnak megengedték, hogy külön lakjék az őt őrző katonával.

Mikor pedig Rómába jutottunk, a százados átadá a foglyokat a testőrsereg fővezérének. Pálnak azonban megengedteték, hogy külön lakjék az őt őriző vitézzel.

And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was suffered to dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him.

Când am ajuns la Roma, sutaşul a dat pe cei întemniţaţi căpitanului străjerilor palatului, iar lui Pavel i s-a îngăduit să rămână într-un loc deosebit, cu un ostaş care-l păzea.

And when we came into Rome, Paul was allowed to stay by himself, with the soldier who guarded him.

Három nap múlva aztán magához hívatta Pál a zsidók főembereit. Amikor összegyűltek, azt mondta nekik: Atyámfiai, férfiak, jóllehet semmit sem vétkeztem a nép ellen vagy az ősi szokások ellen, Jeruzsálemben mégis fogolyként kiszolgáltattak a rómaiaknak.

Lőn pedig, hogy három nap mulva magához hívatá Pál a zsidók között való főembereket. Mikor pedig egybegyűltek, monda nékik: Atyámfiai,férfiak, én jóllehet semmit sem vétkeztem a nép ellen, vagy az ősi szokások ellen, mindazáltal foglyul adattam át Jeruzsálemből a rómaiak kezébe.

And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.

După trei zile, Pavel a chemat pe mai marii iudeilor; şi, când s-au adunat, le-a zis: „Fraţilor, fără să fi făcut ceva împotriva norodului sau obiceiurilor părinţilor noştri, am fost băgat la închisoare în Ierusalim, şi de acolo am fost dat în mâinile romanilor.

After three days he called together the local leaders of the Jews, and when they had gathered, he said to them, “Brothers, though I had done nothing against our people or the customs of our fathers, yet I was delivered as a prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.

Ezek, miután kihallgattak, szabadon akartak bocsátani, mivel semmi halált érdemlő vétket nem találtak nálam.

Kik miután kihallgattak, el akarának engem bocsátani, mivelhogy én bennem semmi halálra méltó vétek nincsen.

Who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no cause of death in me.

După ce m-au supus la cercetare, ei aveau de gând să-mi dea drumul, pentru că nu era în mine nicio vină vrednică de moarte.

When they had examined me, they wished to set me at liberty, because there was no reason for the death penalty in my case.

De mivel a zsidók tiltakoztak ez ellen, kénytelen voltam a császárhoz fellebbezni, nem mintha népem ellen volna valami vádam.

De mivel a zsidók ellene mondtak, kényszeríttettem a császárra appellálni, nem mintha az én népem ellen volna valami vádam.

But when the Jews spake against it, I was constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation of.

Dar iudeii s-au împotrivit, şi am fost silit să cer să fiu judecat de cezar, fără să am de altfel niciun gând să pârăsc neamul meu.

But because the Jews objected, I was compelled to appeal to Caesar—though I had no charge to bring against my nation.

Ezért hívattalak tehát titeket, hogy lássalak benneteket, és szóljak hozzátok, mert Izráel reménységéért viselem ezt a láncot.

Ennekokáért hívattalak tehát titeket, hogy lássalak benneteket és szóljak veletek; mert az Izráelnek reménységéért vétettem körül e lánczczal.

For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.

De aceea, v-am chemat să vă văd şi să vorbesc cu voi; căci din pricina nădejdii lui Israel port eu acest lanţ.”

For this reason, therefore, I have asked to see you and speak with you, since it is because of the hope of Israel that I am wearing this chain.”

Ők pedig azt mondták neki: Mi sem levelet nem kaptunk Júdeából, sem pedig atyánkfiai közül nem jött ide senki, és nem jelentett vagy mondott rólad semmi rosszat.

Azok pedig mondának néki: Mi te felőled sem levelet nem vettünk Júdeából, sem pedig az atyafiak közül ide jőve valaki, nem jelentett, vagy szólott te felőled valami rosszat.

And they said unto him, We neither received letters out of Judaea concerning thee, neither any of the brethren that came shewed or spake any harm of thee.

Ei i-au răspuns: „Noi n-am primit din Iudeea nicio scrisoare cu privire la tine şi n-a venit aici niciun frate care să fi spus sau să fi vorbit ceva rău despre tine.

And they said to him, “We have received no letters from Judea about you, and none of the brothers coming here has reported or spoken any evil about you.

Méltányosnak tartjuk, hogy tőled halljuk, miként gondolkodol, mert erről a felekezetről azt tudjuk, hogy mindenütt ellene mondanak.

Akarnók azért tőled hallani, micsoda értelemben vagy. Mert e felekezet felől tudva van előttünk, hogy mindenütt ellene mondanak.

But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.

Dar am vrea să auzim părerea ta, pentru că ştim că partida aceasta pretutindeni stârneşte împotrivire.”

But we desire to hear from you what your views are, for with regard to this sect we know that everywhere it is spoken against.”

Kitűztek tehát neki egy napot, és akkor többen eljöttek hozzá a szállására. Pál pedig bizonyságot tett nekik az Isten országáról, és Mózes törvénye és a próféták alapján reggeltől estig igyekezett meggyőzni őket Jézusról.

Kitűzvén tehát néki egy napot, eljövének hozzá a szállására többen; kiknek nagy bizonyságtétellel szól vala az Istennek országa felől, igyekezvén elhitetni ő velök a Jézus felől való dolgokat, úgy a Mózes törvényéből, mint a prófétákból, reggeltől fogva mind estvéig.

And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

I-au hotărât o zi şi au venit mai mulţi la locuinţa lui. Pavel le-a vestit Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu, le-a adus dovezi şi a căutat să-i încredinţeze, prin Legea lui Moise şi prin Proroci, despre lucrurile privitoare la Isus. Vorbirea ţinea de dimineaţa până seara.

When they had appointed a day for him, they came to him at his lodging in greater numbers. From morning till evening he expounded to them, testifying to the kingdom of God and trying to convince them about Jesus both from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets.

Egyesek hittek a beszédének, mások pedig nem hittek.

És némelyek hivének az ő beszédének, mások nem hivének.

And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

Unii au crezut ce le spunea el, iar alţii n-au crezut.

And some were convinced by what he said, but others disbelieved.

Mivel pedig nem egyeztek meg egymással, szétoszlottak, miután Pál még ezt mondta: Helyesen szólt a Szentlélek Ézsaiás próféta által atyáitokról, amikor ezt mondta:

Mivel pedig nem egyezének meg egymással, eloszlának, miután Pál ez egy szót mondá: Jól szólott a Szent Lélek Ésaiás próféta által a mi atyáinknak, mondván:

And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,

Fiindcă ei au plecat acasă în neînţelegere unii cu alţii, Pavel n-a adăugat decât aceste vorbe: „Bine a spus Duhul Sfânt prin prorocul Isaia către părinţii voştri,

And disagreeing among themselves, they departed after Paul had made one statement: “The Holy Spirit was right in saying to your fathers through Isaiah the prophet:

Menj el ehhez a néphez, és ezt mondd: Hallván halljatok, és ne értsetek, nézvén nézzetek, és ne lássatok!

Eredj el a néphez és mondd: Hallván halljátok, és ne értsetek; és nézvén nézzetek, és ne lássatok!

Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:

când a zis: „Du-te la poporul acesta şi zi-i: „Veţi auzi cu urechile voastre, şi nu veţi înţelege; cu ochii voştri veţi privi, şi nu veţi vedea.

“‘Go to this people, and say, “You will indeed hear but never understand, and you will indeed see but never perceive.”

Mert megkövéredett ennek a népnek a szíve, és fülükkel nehezen hallanak, és szemüket behunyják, hogy szemükkel ne lássanak, fülükkel ne halljanak, szívükkel ne értsenek, és meg ne térjenek, és meg ne gyógyítsam őket.

Mert megkövéredett e népnek szíve, és füleikkel nehezen hallanak, és szemeiket behunyják; hogy szemeikkel ne lássanak, füleikkel ne halljanak, szívükkel ne értsenek és meg ne térjenek, és meg ne gyógyítsam őket.

For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Căci inima acestui norod s-a împietrit; ei aud greu cu urechile, şi-au închis ochii, ca nu cumva să vadă cu ochii, să audă cu urechile, să înţeleagă cu inima, să se întoarcă la Dumnezeu, şi să-i vindec.”

For this people’s heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed; lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them.’

Vegyétek azért tudomásul, hogy Isten ezt az üdvösséget a pogányoknak küldi, és ők meg is hallgatják.

Legyen azért néktek tudtotokra, hogy a pogány népeknek küldetett az Istennek ez idvezítése, és ők meg is hallgatják.

Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

Să ştiţi, dar, că mântuirea aceasta a lui Dumnezeu a fost trimisă neamurilor, şi o vor asculta.”

Therefore let it be known to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will listen.”

Amikor ezeket mondta, elmentek a zsidók, egymás között vitatkozva.

És mikor ezeket mondotta, elmenének a zsidók, magok között sokat vetekedve.

And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.

Când a zis aceste vorbe, iudeii au plecat, vorbind cu aprindere între ei.

He lived there two whole years at his own expense, and welcomed all who came to him,

Pál pedig két teljes esztendeig maradt saját bérelt szállásán, és mindenkit fogadott, aki felkereste.

Marada pedig Pál két egész esztendeig az ő tulajdon bérelt szállásán, és mindazokat befogadja vala, kik ő hozzá menének.

And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,

Pavel a rămas doi ani întregi într-o casă pe care o luase cu chirie. Primea pe toţi care veneau să-l vadă,

proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without hindrance.

Hirdette az Isten országát, és tanított az Úr Jézus Krisztusról teljesen bátran, minden akadályoztatás nélkül.

Prédikálván az Istennek országát és tanítván az Úr Jézus Krisztus felől való dolgokat teljes bátorsággal, minden tiltás nélkül.

Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

propovăduia Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu şi învăţa pe oameni, cu toată îndrăzneala şi fără nicio piedică, cele privitoare la Domnul Isus Hristos.
