Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:

Pál pedig szokása szerint bement hozzájuk, és három szombaton át vitatkozott velük az Írásokból,

And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

And Paul went in, as was his custom, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures,

magyarázta és bizonyította nekik, hogy Krisztusnak szenvednie kellett, és fel kellett támadnia a halálból, és hogy ez a Jézus a Krisztus, akit én hirdetek nektek.

Megmagyarázva és kimutatva, hogy a Krisztusnak szükség volt szenvedni és feltámadni a halálból; és hogy ez a Jézus a Krisztus, a kit én hirdetek néktek.

Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.

dovedind şi lămurind că Hristosul trebuia să pătimească şi să învie din morţi. „Şi acest Isus pe care vi-L vestesc eu”, zicea el, „este Hristosul.”

explaining and proving that it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead, and saying, “This Jesus, whom I proclaim to you, is the Christ.”

És közülük némelyek hittek, és csatlakoztak Pálhoz és Szilászhoz, csakúgy, mint sokan az istenfélő görögök közül, valamint nem kevesen az előkelő asszonyok közül is.

És némelyek azok közül hivének és csatlakozának Pálhoz és Siláshoz; úgyszintén az istenfélő görögök közül nagy sokaság, és az előkelő asszonyok közül nem kevesen.

And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few.

Unii din ei şi o mare mulţime de greci temători de Dumnezeu şi multe femei de frunte au crezut şi au trecut de partea lui Pavel şi a lui Sila.

And some of them were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, as did a great many of the devout Greeks and not a few of the leading women.

A zsidók pedig irigységtől indítva maguk mellé vettek a piaci népségből néhány gonosz embert, és csődületet támasztva fellázították a várost, majd Jázon házához vonulva igyekeztek őket kihozni a nép közé.

De a zsidók, kik nem hisznek vala, írigységtől felindíttatván, és magok mellé vévén a piaczi népségből némely gonosz férfiakat, és csődületet támasztván, felháboríták a várost; és a Jáson házát megostromolván, igyekeztek őket kihozni a nép közé.

But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.

Dar iudeii care nu crezuseră, de pizmă, au luat cu ei nişte oameni fără căpătâi din mulţime, au făcut gloată şi au întărâtat cetatea. S-au năpustit asupra casei lui Iason şi căutau pe Pavel şi pe Sila, ca să-i aducă afară la norod.

But the Jews were jealous, and taking some wicked men of the rabble, they formed a mob, set the city in an uproar, and attacked the house of Jason, seeking to bring them out to the crowd.

Amikor pedig nem találták őket, Jázont és néhány testvért a városi vezetők elé hurcoltak, és azt kiáltozták, hogy ezek a világfelforgatók itt is megjelentek,

Mikor pedig őket nem találák, Jásont és némely atyafiakat vonszolák a város előljárói elé, kiáltozva, hogy ezek az országháborítók itt is megjelentek;

And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;

And when they could not find them, they dragged Jason and some of the brothers before the city authorities, shouting, “These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also,

akiket Jázon a házába fogadott, pedig ezek mindnyájan a császár parancsai ellen cselekszenek, mivelhogy mást tartanak királynak: Jézust.

Kiket Jáson házába fogadott: pedig ezek mindnyájan a császár parancsolatai ellen cselekesznek, mivelhogy mást tartanak királynak, Jézust.

Whom Jason hath received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus.

şi Iason i-a găzduit. Ei toţi lucrează împotriva poruncilor cezarului şi spun că este un alt Împărat: Isus.”

and Jason has received them, and they are all acting against the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, Jesus.”

Fel is izgatták a sokaságot és a város elöljáróit, akik ezt hallották.

And they troubled the people and the rulers of the city, when they heard these things.

And the people and the city authorities were disturbed when they heard these things.

De amikor Jázon és a többiek kezességet vállaltak értük, elbocsátották őket.

De mikor kezességet nyertek Jáson és a többiek részéről, elbocsáták őket.

And when they had taken security of Jason, and of the other, they let them go.

A testvérek pedig azonnal, még akkor éjjel elküldték Pált Szilásszal együtt Béreába, akik amikor megérkeztek, felkeresték a zsidók zsinagógáját.

Az atyafiak pedig azonnal, azon éjszakán elküldék Pált Silással egyetemben Béreába; kik mikor odamentek, elmenének a zsidóknak zsinagógájába.

And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.

Fraţii au trimis îndată, noaptea, pe Pavel şi pe Sila la Bereea. Când au sosit, au intrat în sinagoga iudeilor.

The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived they went into the Jewish synagogue.

Ezek pedig nemesebb lelkűek voltak, mint a thesszalonikaiak, úgyhogy az igét teljes készséggel befogadták, és mindennap kutatták az Írásokat, hogy valóban úgy vannak-e ezek.

Ezek pedig nemesb lelkűek valának a Thessalonikabelieknél, úgymint kik bevevék az ígét teljes készséggel, naponként tudakozva az írásokat, ha úgy vannak-é ezek.

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Iudeii aceştia aveau o inimă mai aleasă decât cei din Tesalonic. Au primit Cuvântul cu toată râvna şi cercetau Scripturile în fiecare zi, ca să vadă dacă ce li se spunea, este aşa.

Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.

Sokan hittek azért közülük, sőt az előkelő görög asszonyok és férfiak közül sem kevesen.

Sokan hivének azért ő közülök; sőt az előkelő görög asszonyok és férfiak közül is nem kevesen.

Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.

Mulţi dintre ei şi din femeile cu vază ale grecilor şi mulţi bărbaţi au crezut.

Many of them therefore believed, with not a few Greek women of high standing as well as men.

Amikor azonban a thesszalonikai zsidók megtudták, hogy Pál Béreában is hirdeti az Isten igéjét, elmentek, és a sokaságot ott is felizgatták és fellázították.

Mikor azonban tudtokra esett a Thessalonikából való zsidóknak, hogy Béreában is prédikálta Pál az Istennek ígéjét, elmenének, és a sokaságot ott is felháboríták.

But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither also, and stirred up the people.

Dar iudeii din Tesalonic, când au aflat că Pavel vestea Cuvântul lui Dumnezeu şi în Bereea, au venit acolo, ca să tulbure şi să aţâţe noroadele.

But when the Jews from Thessalonica learned that the word of God was proclaimed by Paul at Berea also, they came there too, agitating and stirring up the crowds.

De a testvérek akkor azonnal elküldték Pált, hogy utazzon a tengerig, Szilász és Timóteus azonban ott maradt.

De akkor mindjárt kibocsáták az atyafiak Pált, hogy utazzék a tenger felé; Silás és Timótheus azonban ott maradának.

And then immediately the brethren sent away Paul to go as it were to the sea: but Silas and Timotheus abode there still.

Atunci fraţii au pornit îndată pe Pavel spre mare; Sila şi Timotei au rămas în Bereea.

Then the brothers immediately sent Paul off on his way to the sea, but Silas and Timothy remained there.

Pált kísérői elvitték egészen Athénig, majd azzal az utasítással tértek vissza, hogy Szilász és Timóteus minél hamarabb menjen hozzá.

A kik pedig elkísérték Pált, elvivék őt egész Athénig; és parancsát vévén Siláshoz és Timótheushoz, hogy minél hamarább menjenek ő hozzá, elmenének.

And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens: and receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timotheus for to come to him with all speed, they departed.

Cei ce însoţeau pe Pavel l-au dus până la Atena. Apoi s-au întors, cu însărcinarea să ducă lui Sila şi lui Timotei porunca să vină cât mai curând la el.

Those who conducted Paul brought him as far as Athens, and after receiving a command for Silas and Timothy to come to him as soon as possible, they departed.

Amíg Athénben Pál rájuk várt, háborgott a lelke, mert látta, hogy a város tele van bálványokkal.

Athénben pedig, mikor azokat várá Pál, lelke háborog vala ő benne, látván, hogy a város bálványokkal van tele.

Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.

Pe când îi aştepta Pavel în Atena, i se întărâta duhul la vederea acestei cetăţi pline de idoli.

Now while Paul was waiting for them at Athens, his spirit was provoked within him as he saw that the city was full of idols.

Mindennap vitatkozott a zsinagógában az istenfélő zsidókkal, a piacon pedig azokkal, akiket ott talált.

Vetekedik vala azért a zsinagógában a zsidókkal és az istenfélő emberekkel, és a piaczon mindennap azokkal, a kiket előtalált.

Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.

În sinagogă stătea deci de vorbă cu iudeii şi cu oamenii temători de Dumnezeu, iar în piaţă stătea de vorbă în fiecare zi cu aceia pe care-i întâlnea.

So he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and the devout persons, and in the marketplace every day with those who happened to be there.

Néhány epikureus és sztoikus filozófus is vitázott vele, egyesek azt kérdezték: Ugyan mit akarhat ez a fecsegő mondani? Mások meg: Idegen istenségek hirdetőjének látszik, mivelhogy Jézust és a feltámadást hirdette nekik.

Némelyek pedig az epikureus és stoikus filozófusok közül összeakadtak ő vele. És némelyek mondának: Mit akarhat ez a csacsogó mondani? Mások meg: Idegen istenségek hirdetőjének látszik. Mivelhogy a Jézust és a feltámadást hirdeti vala nékik.

Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.

Unii din filosofii epicurieni şi stoici au intrat în vorbă cu el. Şi unii ziceau: „Ce vrea să spună palavragiul acesta?” Alţii, când l-au auzit că vesteşte pe Isus şi învierea, ziceau: „Pare că vesteşte nişte dumnezei străini.”

Some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers also conversed with him. And some said, “What does this babbler wish to say?” Others said, “He seems to be a preacher of foreign divinities”—because he was preaching Jesus and the resurrection.

Megragadták, és az Areopágoszra vitték, ezt mondva: Megtudhatnánk, hogy mi az az új tanítás, amelyet hirdetsz?

És megragadván őt, az Areopágusra vivék, ezt mondván: Vajjon megérthetjük-é mi az az új tudomány, melyet te hirdetsz?

And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is?

Atunci l-au luat, l-au dus la Areopag şi au zis: „Putem să ştim care este această învăţătură nouă pe care o vesteşti tu?

And they took him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, “May we know what this new teaching is that you are presenting?

Mert valami idegen dolgokat beszélsz a mi füleinknek, szeretnénk azért megérteni, miről is van szó.

Mert valami idegen dolgokat beszélsz a mi füleinknek: meg akarjuk azért érteni, mik lehetnek ezek.

For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.

Fiindcă tu ne aduci ceva ciudat la auz. Am vrea, dar, să ştim ce vrea să zică aceasta.”

For you bring some strange things to our ears. We wish to know therefore what these things mean.”

Az athéniek ugyanis és az ott lakó jövevények valamennyien mással sem töltötték idejüket, mint hogy valami újdonságot mondjanak vagy halljanak.

Az athéniek pedig mindnyájan és az ott lakó jövevények semmi másban nem valának foglalatosok, mint valami újságnak beszélésében és hallgatásában.

(For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)

Căci toţi atenienii şi străinii care stăteau în Atena nu-şi petreceau vremea cu nimic altceva decât să spună sau să asculte ceva nou.

Now all the Athenians and the foreigners who lived there would spend their time in nothing except telling or hearing something new.

Pál tehát kiállt az Areopágosz közepére, és így szólt: Athéni férfiak! Minden tekintetben nagyon vallásosnak tekintelek titeket,

Előállván pedig Pál az Areopágusnak közepette, monda: Athéni férfiak, minden tekintetben nagyon istenfélőknek látlak titeket.

Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.

Pavel a stat în picioare în mijlocul Areopagului şi a zis: „Bărbaţi atenieni! În toate privinţele vă găsesc foarte religioşi.

So Paul, standing in the midst of the Areopagus, said: “Men of Athens, I perceive that in every way you are very religious.

mert amikor bejártam és megszemléltem szentélyeiteket, találtam egy olyan oltárt is, amelyre ez volt ráírva: Az ismeretlen Istennek. Akit azért ti ismeretlenül tiszteltek, én azt hirdetem nektek.

Mert mikor bejárám és szemlélém a ti szentélyeiteket, találkozám egy oltárral is, melyre ez vala ráírva: Ismeretlen Istennek. A kit azért ti nem ismerve tiszteltek, azt hirdetem én néktek.

For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

Căci, pe când străbăteam cetatea voastră şi mă uitam de aproape la lucrurile la care vă închinaţi voi, am descoperit chiar şi un altar pe care este scris: „Unui Dumnezeu necunoscut!” Ei bine, ceea ce voi cinstiţi fără să cunoaşteţi, aceea vă vestesc eu.

For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription: ‘To the unknown god.’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you.

Az Isten, aki a világot teremtette és mindazt, ami abban van, mivel ő mennynek és földnek ura, kézzel csinált templomokban nem lakik,

Az Isten, a ki teremtette a világot és mindazt, a mi abban van, mivelhogy ő mennynek és földnek ura, kézzel csinált templomokban nem lakik.

God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

Dumnezeu, care a făcut lumea şi tot ce este în ea, este Domnul cerului şi al pământului şi nu locuieşte în temple făcute de mâini.

The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man,

emberi kéz szolgálatára nem szorul, mintha valamire is szüksége lenne, hiszen ő ad mindenkinek életet, leheletet és mindent.

Sem embereknek kezeitől nem tiszteltetik, mintha valami nélkül szűkölködnék, holott ő ád mindeneknek életet, leheletet és mindent;

Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

El nu este slujit de mâini omeneşti, ca şi când ar avea trebuinţă de ceva, El, care dă tuturor viaţa, suflarea şi toate lucrurile.

nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything.

Az egész emberi nemzetséget egy vérből teremtette, hogy lakjon a föld egész színén, és előre meghatározta rendelt idejüket és lakóhelyük határait,

És az egész emberi nemzetséget egy vérből teremtette, hogy lakozzanak a földnek egész színén, meghatározván eleve rendelt idejöket és lakásuknak határait;

And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

El a făcut ca toţi oamenii, ieşiţi dintr-unul singur, să locuiască pe toată faţa pământului; le-a aşezat anumite vremuri şi a pus anumite hotare locuinţei lor,

And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place,

hogy keressék az Istent, hátha kitapinthatnák és megtalálhatnák, hiszen nincs messze egyikünktől sem.

Hogy keressék az Urat, ha talán kitapogathatnák őt és megtalálhatnák, jóllehet bizony nincs messze egyikőnktől sem:

That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

ca ei să caute pe Dumnezeu şi să se silească să-L găsească bâjbâind, măcar că nu este departe de fiecare din noi.

that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us,

Mert őbenne élünk, mozgunk és vagyunk, amint költőitek közül is mondták némelyek: Az ő nemzetsége vagyunk.

Mert ő benne élünk, mozgunk és vagyunk; miképen a költőitek közül is mondották némelyek: Mert az ő nemzetsége is vagyunk.

For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

Căci în El avem viaţa, mişcarea şi fiinţa, după cum au zis şi unii din poeţii voştri: „Suntem din neamul Lui…”

for “‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, “‘For we are indeed his offspring.’

Mivel tehát az Isten nemzetsége vagyunk, nem szabad azt gondolnunk, hogy az istenség aranyhoz, ezüsthöz vagy kőhöz, a művészet és az emberi elképzelés alkotásaihoz hasonló.

Mivelhogy azért az Istennek nemzetsége vagyunk, nem kell azt gondolnunk, hogy aranyhoz, vagy ezüsthöz, vagy kőhöz, emberi mesterség és kitalálás faragványához hasonlatos az istenség.

Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.

Astfel, dar, fiindcă suntem de neam din Dumnezeu, nu trebuie să credem că Dumnezeirea este asemenea aurului sau argintului sau pietrei cioplite cu meşteşugirea şi iscusinţa omului.

Being then God’s offspring, we ought not to think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of man.

A tudatlanság idejét azért elnézte Isten, de most azt parancsolja az embereknek, mindenkinek mindenütt, hogy megtérjenek.

E tudatlanságnak idejét azért elnézvén az Isten, mostan parancsolja az embereknek, mindenkinek mindenütt, hogy megtérjenek:

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Dumnezeu nu ţine seama de vremurile de neştiinţă şi porunceşte acum tuturor oamenilor de pretutindeni să se pocăiască;

The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent,

Mert rendelt egy napot, amelyen megítéli majd a föld kerekségét igazságosan egy férfi által, akit arra rendelt. Bizonyságot adott erről mindenkinek azzal, hogy feltámasztotta őt a halottak közül.

Mivelhogy rendelt egy napot, melyen megítéli majd a föld kerekségét igazságban egy férfiú által, kit arra rendelt; bizonyságot tévén mindenkinek, az által, hogy feltámasztá őt halottaiból.

Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

pentru că a rânduit o zi în care va judeca lumea după dreptate, prin Omul pe care L-a rânduit pentru aceasta şi despre care a dat tuturor oamenilor o dovadă netăgăduită, prin faptul că L-a înviat din morţi…”

because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.”

Amikor azonban a halottak feltámadásáról hallottak, egyesek gúnyolódtak, mások pedig azt mondták: Majd még meghallgatunk téged efelől.

And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.

Când au auzit ei de învierea morţilor, unii îşi băteau joc, iar alţii au zis: „Asupra acestor lucruri te vom asculta altă dată.”

Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked. But others said, “We will hear you again about this.”

Így Pál eltávozott körükből.

És ilyen módon Pál kiméne azok közül.

So Paul departed from among them.

Astfel, Pavel a ieşit din mijlocul lor.

So Paul went out from their midst.

Néhány ember azonban hívővé lett, és csatlakozott hozzá. Köztük volt az areopágita Dioniziosz, egy Damarisz nevű asszony és velük együtt mások is.

Némely férfiak azonban csatlakozván ő hozzá, hivének; ezek között az areopágita Dienes is, és egy Damaris nevű asszony, és mások ő velök.

Howbeit certain men clave unto him, and believed: among the which was Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.

Totuşi unii au trecut de partea lui şi au crezut; între aceştia era Dionisie areopagitul, o femeie numită Damaris şi alţii împreună cu ei.

But some men joined him and believed, among whom also were Dionysius the Areopagite and a woman named Damaris and others with them.
