Pál a nagytanácsra szegezte szemét, és azt mondta: Atyámfiai, férfiak, én teljesen jó lelkiismerettel szolgáltam Istennek mind e mai napig.

Mikor pedig a tanácsra vetette szemét Pál, monda: Atyámfiai, férfiak, én teljes jó lelkiismerettel szolgáltam az Istennek mind e mai napig.

And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.

Pavel s-a uitat ţintă la sobor şi a zis: „Fraţilor, eu am vieţuit cu toată curăţia cugetului meu înaintea lui Dumnezeu, până în ziua aceasta…”

And looking intently at the council, Paul said, “Brothers, I have lived my life before God in all good conscience up to this day.”

Anániás főpap pedig megparancsolta azoknak, akik mellette álltak, hogy üssék szájon.

And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth.

Akkor Pál azt mondta neki: Megver az Isten téged, te meszelt fal! Itt ülsz, hogy a törvény szerint hozz ítéletet felettem, és törvényellenesen azt parancsolod, hogy megüssenek?

Akkor Pál monda néki: Megver az Isten téged, te kimeszelt fal! És te leülsz engem a törvény szerint megítélni, és törvényellenesen cselekedve parancsolod, hogy engem verjenek?

Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law?

Atunci Pavel i-a zis: „Te va bate Dumnezeu, perete văruit! Tu şezi să mă judeci după Lege, şi porunceşti să mă lovească, împotriva Legii!”

Then Paul said to him, “God is going to strike you, you whitewashed wall! Are you sitting to judge me according to the law, and yet contrary to the law you order me to be struck?”

And they that stood by said, Revilest thou God's high priest?

Those who stood by said, “Would you revile God’s high priest?”

Pál pedig azt mondta: Nem tudtam, atyámfiai, hogy főpap. Mert meg van írva: A te néped fejedelmét ne átkozd!

Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.

Şi Pavel a zis: „N-am ştiut, fraţilor, că este marele preot; căci este scris: „Pe mai marele norodului tău să nu-l grăieşti de rău.”

And Paul said, “I did not know, brothers, that he was the high priest, for it is written, ‘You shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people.’”

Mivel pedig Pál tudta, hogy egyik részük a szadduceusok, a másik pedig a farizeusok közül való, felkiáltott a nagytanács előtt: Atyámfiai, férfiak, én farizeus vagyok, farizeus fia, és a halottak reménysége és feltámadása miatt vádolnak.

But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.

Pavel, ca unul care ştia că o parte din adunare erau saduchei, iar alta farisei, a strigat în plin sobor: „Fraţilor, eu sunt fariseu, fiu de fariseu; din pricina nădejdii în învierea morţilor sunt dat în judecată.”

Now when Paul perceived that one part were Sadducees and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, “Brothers, I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees. It is with respect to the hope and the resurrection of the dead that I am on trial.”

And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided.

And when he had said this, a dissension arose between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the assembly was divided.

Mert a szadduceusok azt mondják, hogy nincs feltámadás, sem angyal, sem lélek, a farizeusok pedig mindegyiket vallják.

For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.

For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit, but the Pharisees acknowledge them all.

Nagy kiáltozás támadt, és a farizeusok pártjának írástudói közül néhányan felállva hevesen vitatkoztak, azt hangoztatva: Semmi rosszat sem találunk ebben az emberben. Hátha lélek vagy angyal szólt hozzá?

Támada azért nagy kiáltozás: és felkelvén az írástudók a farizeusok pártjából, tusakodnak vala, mondván: Semmi rosszat sem találunk ez emberben; ha pedig lélek szólott néki, vagy angyal, ne tusakodjunk Isten ellen.

And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees' part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God.

S-a făcut o mare zarvă; şi câţiva cărturari din partida fariseilor, s-au sculat în picioare, au început o ceartă aprinsă şi au zis: „Noi nu găsim nicio vină în omul acesta; dar dacă i-a vorbit un duh sau un înger …?”

Then a great clamor arose, and some of the scribes of the Pharisees’ party stood up and contended sharply, “We find nothing wrong in this man. What if a spirit or an angel spoke to him?”

Mikor pedig egyre nagyobb lett a felfordulás, az ezredes attól tartott, hogy Pált szétszaggatják, ezért parancsot adott, hogy a katonaság menjen le, ragadja ki őt közülük, és vigye el a várba.

And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them, and to bring him into the castle.

Fiindcă gâlceava creştea, căpitanul se temea ca Pavel să nu fie rupt în bucăţi de ei. De aceea a poruncit ostaşilor să se coboare să-l smulgă din mijlocul lor şi să-l ducă în cetăţuie.

And when the dissension became violent, the tribune, afraid that Paul would be torn to pieces by them, commanded the soldiers to go down and take him away from among them by force and bring him into the barracks.

A következő éjszakán pedig odaállt mellé az Úr, és azt mondta: Bízzál, Pál! Mert ahogy bizonyságot tettél az én ügyem mellett Jeruzsálemben, úgy kell neked Rómában is bizonyságot tenned.

A következő éjszakán pedig melléállván néki az Úr, monda: Bízzál Pál! Mert miképen bizonyságot tettél az én felőlem való dolgokról Jeruzsálemben, azonképen kell néked Rómában is bizonyságot tenned.

And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.

În noaptea următoare, Domnul S-a arătat lui Pavel şi i-a zis: „Îndrăzneşte, Pavele; căci, după cum ai mărturisit despre Mine în Ierusalim, tot aşa trebuie să mărturiseşti şi în Roma.”

The following night the Lord stood by him and said, “Take courage, for as you have testified to the facts about me in Jerusalem, so you must testify also in Rome.”

Ahogy megvirradt, a zsidók összecsődültek, és átok alatt kötelezték magukat, hogy nem esznek és nem isznak addig, amíg meg nem ölik Pált.

Midőn pedig nappal lőn, a zsidók közül némelyek összeszövetkezvén, átok alatt kötelezék el magokat, mondván, hogy sem nem esznek, sem nem isznak addig, míg meg nem ölik Pált.

And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.

La ziuă, iudeii au uneltit şi s-au legat cu blestem că nu vor mânca, nici nu vor bea, până nu vor omorî pe Pavel.

When it was day, the Jews made a plot and bound themselves by an oath neither to eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.

Több mint negyvenen voltak, akik így összeesküdtek.

And they were more than forty which had made this conspiracy.

And they came to the chief priests and elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul.

They went to the chief priests and elders and said, “We have strictly bound ourselves by an oath to taste no food till we have killed Paul.

Most azért a nagytanáccsal együtt javasoljátok azt az ezredesnek, hogy hozza le hozzátok, mintha az ügyét alaposabban ki akarnátok vizsgálni. Mi pedig készek vagyunk őt megölni, mielőtt ideérne.

Most azért ti jelentsétek be az ezredesnek a tanácscsal egybe, hogy holnap hozza le őt ti hozzátok, mintha az ő dolgának tüzetesebben végére akarnátok járni. Mi pedig, minekelőtte ő ide érne, készek vagyunk őt megölni.

Now therefore ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you to morrow, as though ye would enquire something more perfectly concerning him: and we, or ever he come near, are ready to kill him.

Acum, dar, voi, împreună cu soborul, daţi de ştire căpitanului şi rugaţi-l să-l aducă mâine jos, înaintea voastră, ca şi cum aţi vrea să-i cercetaţi pricina mai cu de-amănuntul; şi, până să ajungă el, noi suntem gata să-l omorâm.”

Now therefore you, along with the council, give notice to the tribune to bring him down to you, as though you were going to determine his case more exactly. And we are ready to kill him before he comes near.”

And when Paul's sister's son heard of their lying in wait, he went and entered into the castle, and told Paul.

Now the son of Paul’s sister heard of their ambush, so he went and entered the barracks and told Paul.

Then Paul called one of the centurions unto him, and said, Bring this young man unto the chief captain: for he hath a certain thing to tell him.

Pavel a chemat pe unul din sutaşi şi a zis: „Du pe tinerelul acesta la căpitan, căci are să-i spună ceva.”

Paul called one of the centurions and said, “Take this young man to the tribune, for he has something to tell him.”

Az tehát maga mellé vette őt, elvitte az ezredeshez, és azt mondta: A fogoly Pál magához hívatott engem, és arra kért, hogy ezt az ifjút vezessem hozzád, mert mondani akar neked valamit.

Az annakokáért maga mellé vévén őt, vivé az ezredeshez, és monda: A fogoly Pál magához hivatván engem, kéré, hogy ez ifjat hozzád vezessem, mert valamit akar néked mondani.

So he took him, and brought him to the chief captain, and said, Paul the prisoner called me unto him, and prayed me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say unto thee.

So he took him and brought him to the tribune and said, “Paul the prisoner called me and asked me to bring this young man to you, as he has something to say to you.”

Az ezredes pedig kézen fogta, és félrevonulva megkérdezte tőle: Mit akarsz nekem jelenteni?

Az ezredes pedig őt kézen fogván, és félrevonulván külön, tudakolá: Micsoda az, a mit nékem jelenteni akarsz?

Then the chief captain took him by the hand, and went with him aside privately, and asked him, What is that thou hast to tell me?

Căpitanul l-a apucat de mână, l-a luat deoparte şi l-a întrebat: „Ce ai să-mi spui?”

The tribune took him by the hand, and going aside asked him privately, “What is it that you have to tell me?”

Ő pedig azt mondta: A zsidók elhatározták, hogy megkérnek téged, hogy Pált holnap vidd le a nagytanács elé, mintha valamit alaposabban meg akarnának tudakozni felőle.

Az pedig monda: A zsidók elvégezték, hogy megkérnek téged, hogy Pált holnap vidd le a tanács elé, mintha valamit tüzetesebben meg akarnának tudakozni ő felőle.

And he said, The Jews have agreed to desire thee that thou wouldest bring down Paul to morrow into the council, as though they would enquire somewhat of him more perfectly.

El a răspuns: „Iudeii s-au sfătuit să te roage să aduci mâine pe Pavel înaintea soborului, ca şi cum ai avea să-l cercetezi mai cu de-amănuntul.

And he said, “The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul down to the council tomorrow, as though they were going to inquire somewhat more closely about him.

Te azért ne engedj nekik, mert közülük negyvennél több férfi leselkedik utána, akik átok alatt kötelezték magukat, hogy addig se nem esznek, se nem isznak, amíg meg nem ölik. És már készen vannak, csak az üzenetedre várnak.

Te azért ne engedj nékik: mert közülök negyvennél több férfiú leselkedik ő utána, kik átok alatt kötelezték el magukat, hogy sem nem esznek, sem nem isznak addig, míg meg nem ölik őt. És immár készen vannak, várakozva a te izenetedre.

But do not thou yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now are they ready, looking for a promise from thee.

Tu să nu-i asculţi, pentru că mai mulţi de patruzeci dintre ei îl pândesc şi s-au legat cu blestem să nu mănânce şi să nu bea nimic până nu-l vor omorî; acum stau gata şi n-aşteaptă decât făgăduinţa ta.”

But do not be persuaded by them, for more than forty of their men are lying in ambush for him, who have bound themselves by an oath neither to eat nor drink till they have killed him. And now they are ready, waiting for your consent.”

Ekkor az ezredes elbocsátotta az ifjút, és meghagyta neki: Senkinek se szólj arról, hogy ezeket jelentetted nekem.

So the chief captain then let the young man depart, and charged him, See thou tell no man that thou hast shewed these things to me.

So the tribune dismissed the young man, charging him, “Tell no one that you have informed me of these things.”

És a századosok közül kettőt magához hívatott, és azt mondta: Készítsetek föl kétszáz katonát, hetven lovast és kétszáz dárdást az éjszaka harmadik órájára, hogy induljanak Cézáreába,

And he called unto him two centurions, saying, Make ready two hundred soldiers to go to Caesarea, and horsemen threescore and ten, and spearmen two hundred, at the third hour of the night;

Then he called two of the centurions and said, “Get ready two hundred soldiers, with seventy horsemen and two hundred spearmen to go as far as Caesarea at the third hour of the night.

And provide them beasts, that they may set Paul on, and bring him safe unto Felix the governor.

This man was taken of the Jews, and should have been killed of them: then came I with an army, and rescued him, having understood that he was a Roman.

Acest om pe care l-au prins iudeii era să fie omorât de ei; şi eu m-am dus repede cu ostaşi şi l-am scos din mâna lor, căci am aflat că este roman.

This man was seized by the Jews and was about to be killed by them when I came upon them with the soldiers and rescued him, having learned that he was a Roman citizen.

Mivel meg akartam tudni az okát, hogy mivel vádolják, levittem őt a nagytanácsuk elé.

And when I would have known the cause wherefore they accused him, I brought him forth into their council:

And desiring to know the charge for which they were accusing him, I brought him down to their council.

I found that he was being accused about questions of their law, but charged with nothing deserving death or imprisonment.

Mivel pedig jelentették nekem, hogy merénylet készül e férfi ellen, azonnal hozzád küldtem, és vádlóinak is meghagytam, hogy ami panaszuk van ellene, azt előtted mondják el.

Minthogy pedig nékem megjelentették, hogy a zsidók e férfiú után ólálkodni akarnak, azonnal hozzád küldém, meghagyva vádolóinak is, hogy a mi dolguk van ő ellene, te előtted mondják meg. Légy jó egészségben!

And when it was told me how that the Jews laid wait for the man, I sent straightway to thee, and gave commandment to his accusers also to say before thee what they had against him. Farewell.

Mi s-a dat însă de ştire că iudeii îl pândesc ca să-l omoare; l-am trimis îndată la tine şi am făcut cunoscut şi celor ce-l învinuiesc să-ţi spună ţie ce au împotriva lui. Fii sănătos.”

And when it was disclosed to me that there would be a plot against the man, I sent him to you at once, ordering his accusers also to state before you what they have against him.”

A katonák tehát a kapott parancsnak megfelelően felvették Pált, és még éjszaka elvitték Antipatriszba.

Then the soldiers, as it was commanded them, took Paul, and brought him by night to Antipatris.

On the morrow they left the horsemen to go with him, and returned to the castle:

I will hear thee, said he, when thine accusers are also come. And he commanded him to be kept in Herod's judgment hall.

he said, “I will give you a hearing when your accusers arrive.” And he commanded him to be guarded in Herod’s praetorium.
