Ezek után a hűségesen véghez vitt dolgok után eljött Szanhérib asszír király, és betört Júdába, ostrom alá vette a megerősített városokat, azt gondolva, hogy elfoglalja azokat magának.

Ezen dolgok és igazságos [cselekedetek] után eljöve Sénakhérib, az Assiriabeli király, és Júdába menvén, megszállá a megerősített városokat, azt mondván, hogy elfoglalja azokat magának.

After these things, and the establishment thereof, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped against the fenced cities, and thought to win them for himself.

După aceste lucruri şi după aceste fapte de credincioşie, a venit Sanherib, împăratul Asiriei, care a pătruns în Iuda şi a împresurat cetăţile întărite, cu gând să pună mâna pe ele.

After these things and these acts of faithfulness, Sennacherib king of Assyria came and invaded Judah and encamped against the fortified cities, thinking to win them for himself.

And when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib was come, and that he was purposed to fight against Jerusalem,

And when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had come and intended to fight against Jerusalem,

He took counsel with his princes and his mighty men to stop the waters of the fountains which were without the city: and they did help him.

he planned with his officers and his mighty men to stop the water of the springs that were outside the city; and they helped him.

Nagy sokaság gyűlt össze, betömtek minden forrást és patakot, amely azon a területen folyt át, és azt mondták: Miért találjanak az asszír királyok elegendő vizet, ha idejönnek?

Mert összegyűlvén a sokaság, bedugának minden forrást és az ország közepén folyó patakot, mondván: Miért találjanak az assiriai királyok elegendő vizet, ha eljőnek?!

So there was gathered much people together, who stopped all the fountains, and the brook that ran through the midst of the land, saying, Why should the kings of Assyria come, and find much water?

S-au strâns o mulţime de oameni şi au astupat toate izvoarele şi pârâul care curge prin mijlocul ţinutului aceluia. „Pentru ce”, ziceau ei, „să găsească împăraţii Asiriei, la venirea lor, ape din belşug?”

A great many people were gathered, and they stopped all the springs and the brook that flowed through the land, saying, “Why should the kings of Assyria come and find much water?”

Majd nekibátorodott, megépítette a beomlott városfalat, megmagasította az őrtornyokat, és kívül másik kőfalat is emelt, és megerősítette Millót Dávid városában. Ezenfölül sok fegyvert és pajzsot csináltatott.

És felbátorodván, megépíté a város leromlott kerítését, felemelvén a tornyokig, és kivül másik kőfalat is [emelt], s Millót a Dávid városában megerősíté; ennekfelette szerze sok fegyvert és paizst.

Also he strengthened himself, and built up all the wall that was broken, and raised it up to the towers, and another wall without, and repaired Millo in the city of David, and made darts and shields in abundance.

Ezechia s-a îmbărbătat; a zidit din nou zidul care era stricat şi l-a ridicat până la turnuri. A mai zidit un alt zid în afară, a întărit Milo în cetatea lui David şi a pregătit o mulţime de arme şi de scuturi.

He set to work resolutely and built up all the wall that was broken down and raised towers upon it, and outside it he built another wall, and he strengthened the Millo in the city of David. He also made weapons and shields in abundance.

A nép fölé hadvezéreket rendelt, majd maga köré gyűjtötte őket a városkapu előtti téren, és szívükhöz szólt e szavakkal:

És a nép fölé seregvezéreket tett, és maga köré gyűjtvén őket a város kapujának utczájára, szóla az ő szívök szerint ekképen:

And he set captains of war over the people, and gathered them together to him in the street of the gate of the city, and spake comfortably to them, saying,

A pus căpetenii de război peste popor şi i-a adunat la el pe locul deschis de la poarta cetăţii. Vorbindu-le inimii a zis:

And he set combat commanders over the people and gathered them together to him in the square at the gate of the city and spoke encouragingly to them, saying,

Legyetek erősek és bátrak, semmit ne féljetek, meg ne rettenjetek az asszír királytól és a vele levő egész sokaságtól, mert velünk többen vannak, mint ővele!

Erősek legyetek és bátrak, semmit se féljetek, meg se rettenjetek az assiriai királytól és a vele való egész sokaságtól, mert velünk többen vannak, hogynem ő vele.

Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him:

„Întăriţi-vă şi îmbărbătaţi-vă. Nu vă temeţi şi nu vă înspăimântaţi înaintea împăratului Asiriei şi înaintea întregii mulţimi care este cu el; căci cu noi sunt mai mulţi decât cu el.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or dismayed before the king of Assyria and all the horde that is with him, for there are more with us than with him.

Ővele testi erő van, velünk pedig az ÚR, a mi Istenünk, hogy megsegítsen minket, és értünk harcoljon. És megbátorodott a hadinép, amikor ezt hallotta Ezékiástól, Júda királyától.

Ő vele testi erő van, velünk pedig az Úr a mi Istenünk, hogy megsegéljen minket és érettünk hadakozzék. És megbátorodék a nép, ezt hallván Ezékiástól, a Júda királyától.

With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

Cu el este un braţ de carne, dar cu noi este Domnul Dumnezeul nostru care ne va ajuta şi va lupta pentru noi.” Poporul a avut încredere în cuvintele lui Ezechia, împăratul lui Iuda.

With him is an arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people took confidence from the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

Ezek után Szanhérib asszír király, aki Lákis mellett volt egész seregével, elküldte szolgáit Jeruzsálembe Ezékiáshoz, Júda királyához és egész Júdához ezzel az üzenettel:

After this did Sennacherib king of Assyria send his servants to Jerusalem, (but he himself laid siege against Lachish, and all his power with him,) unto Hezekiah king of Judah, and unto all Judah that were at Jerusalem, saying,

După aceea, Sanherib, împăratul Asiriei, a trimis pe slujitorii săi la Ierusalim, pe când era înaintea Lachisului cu toate puterile lui; i-a trimis la Ezechia, împăratul lui Iuda, şi la toţi cei din Iuda care erau la Ierusalim să le spună:

After this, Sennacherib king of Assyria, who was besieging Lachish with all his forces, sent his servants to Jerusalem to Hezekiah king of Judah and to all the people of Judah who were in Jerusalem, saying,

Ezt mondja Szanhérib, az asszír király: Kiben bíztok, hogy Jeruzsálemben maradtok az ostrom idején?

Ezt mondja Sénakhérib, az assiriai király: Kiben bíztok, hogy Jeruzsálemben maradtok a megszállás idején?

Thus saith Sennacherib king of Assyria, Whereon do ye trust, that ye abide in the siege in Jerusalem?

„Aşa vorbeşte Sanherib, împăratul Asiriei: „Pe ce se bizuie încrederea voastră, de staţi împresuraţi la Ierusalim?

“Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria, ‘On what are you trusting, that you endure the siege in Jerusalem?

Csak nem ámított el titeket Ezékiás, hogy éhséggel és szomjúsággal öljön meg titeket, mikor ezt mondja: Az ÚR, a mi Istenünk megszabadít minket az asszír király kezéből?

Avagy nem Ezékiás áltatott-é el titeket, hogy éhséggel és szomjúsággal ölne meg titeket, mondván: Az Úr, a mi Istenünk megszabadít minket az Assiriabeli király kezéből!

Doth not Hezekiah persuade you to give over yourselves to die by famine and by thirst, saying, The LORD our God shall deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria?

Oare nu vă amăgeşte Ezechia, ca să vă dea morţii prin foamete şi prin sete, când zice: „Domnul Dumnezeul nostru ne va scăpa din mâna împăratului Asiriei”?

Is not Hezekiah misleading you, that he may give you over to die by famine and by thirst, when he tells you, “The LORD our God will deliver us from the hand of the king of Assyria”?

Hát nem Ezékiás pusztította-e el az ő magaslatait és oltárait, amikor így szólt Júdához és Jeruzsálemhez: „Csak egy oltár előtt borulhattok le, és csak azon tömjénezhettek!”?

Avagy nem Ezékiás pusztította-é el az ő magaslatait és oltárait, mikor így szólott Júdához és Jeruzsálemhez, mondván: [Csak] egy oltár előtt imádkozzatok, és [csak] azon tömjénezzetek?!

Hath not the same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall worship before one altar, and burn incense upon it?

Oare nu Ezechia a îndepărtat înălţimile şi altarele Domnului şi a dat porunca aceasta lui Iuda şi Ierusalimului: „Să vă închinaţi numai unui altar şi să aduceţi tămâie numai pe el”?

Has not this same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, “Before one altar you shall worship, and on it you shall burn your sacrifices”?

Hát nem tudjátok-e, mit műveltem én és az én atyáim e föld minden népével? Vajon e föld népeinek istenei meg tudták-e szabadítani kezemből az országukat?

Avagy nem tudjátok-é, mit műveltem én és az én atyáim e föld minden népeivel? Vajjon e föld nemzetségeinek istenei megszabadíthatták-é az én kezemből az ő földöket?

Know ye not what I and my fathers have done unto all the people of other lands? were the gods of the nations of those lands any ways able to deliver their lands out of mine hand?

Nu ştiţi ce am făcut noi, eu şi părinţii mei, tuturor popoarelor celorlalte ţări? Dumnezeii neamurilor acestor ţări au putut ei să le izbăvească ţările din mâna mea?

Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of other lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands at all able to deliver their lands out of my hand?

E népek istenei közül, amelyeket atyáim elpusztítottak, kicsoda az, aki megszabadíthatta volna kezemből a népét? Hát a ti Istenetek ki tudna szabadítani benneteket a kezemből?

És kicsoda e nemzetségek istenei közül az, a melyeket az én atyáim elvesztettek, a ki az én kezemből az ő népét megszabadíthatta volna, hogy a ti Istenetek is az én kezemből titeket megszabadíthatna?

Who was there among all the gods of those nations that my fathers utterly destroyed, that could deliver his people out of mine hand, that your God should be able to deliver you out of mine hand?

Care dintre toţi dumnezeii acestor neamuri, pe care le-au nimicit părinţii mei, a putut să izbăvească pe poporul lui din mâna mea, pentru ca să vă poată izbăvi Dumnezeul vostru din mâna mea?

Who among all the gods of those nations that my fathers devoted to destruction was able to deliver his people from my hand, that your God should be able to deliver you from my hand?

Most azért ne ámítson el és ne csaljon meg titeket Ezékiás ily módon. Ne higgyetek neki, mert ha egyetlen népnek és országnak istene sem szabadíthatta meg a népét az én kezemből és atyáim kezéből, mennyivel kevésbé szabadíthat meg titeket a ti Istenetek az én kezemből?

Most azért Ezékiás titeket el ne ámítson és meg ne csaljon ily módon; ne higyjetek néki, mert ha egy népnek és országnak istene sem szabadíthatta meg az ő népét kezemből és az én atyáim kezéből: mennyivel kevésbbé szabadíthat meg titeket a ti Istenetek az én kezemből!

Now therefore let not Hezekiah deceive you, nor persuade you on this manner, neither yet believe him: for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of mine hand, and out of the hand of my fathers: how much less shall your God deliver you out of mine hand?

Să nu vă amăgească Ezechia, dar, şi să nu vă înşele astfel; nu vă încredeţi în el! Căci dumnezeul niciunui neam, niciunei împărăţii n-a putut să izbăvească pe poporul lui din mâna mea şi din mâna părinţilor mei: cu cât mai puţin vă va izbăvi Dumnezeul vostru din mâna mea!”

Now, therefore, do not let Hezekiah deceive you or mislead you in this fashion, and do not believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to deliver his people from my hand or from the hand of my fathers. How much less will your God deliver you out of my hand!’”

Szolgái még sok mást is mondtak az ÚR Isten ellen és szolgája, Ezékiás ellen.

Sőt ezenkivül az ő szolgái még sokat szólának az Úr Isten ellen, és az ő szolgája Ezékiás ellen.

And his servants spake yet more against the LORD God, and against his servant Hezekiah.

And his servants said still more against the LORD God and against his servant Hezekiah.

He wrote also letters to rail on the LORD God of Israel, and to speak against him, saying, As the gods of the nations of other lands have not delivered their people out of mine hand, so shall not the God of Hezekiah deliver his people out of mine hand.

Şi a trimis o scrisoare batjocoritoare pentru Domnul Dumnezeul lui Israel, vorbind astfel împotriva Lui: „După cum dumnezeii neamurilor celorlalte ţări n-au putut să izbăvească pe poporul lor din mâna mea, tot aşa nici Dumnezeul lui Ezechia nu va izbăvi pe poporul Său din mâna mea.”

And he wrote letters to cast contempt on the LORD, the God of Israel, and to speak against him, saying, “Like the gods of the nations of the lands who have not delivered their people from my hands, so the God of Hezekiah will not deliver his people from my hand.”

Nagy hangosan, héber nyelven kiáltoztak a várfalra Jeruzsálem népének, hogy megrettentsék és megháborítsák, abban a reményben, hogy így a várost elfoglalhatják.

És kiáltnak nagy felszóval zsidó nyelven Jeruzsálem népe ellen, mely a kerítésen vala, hogy őket megrettentenék és megháborítanák, [abban a reményben], hogy így a várost elfoglalhatják.

Then they cried with a loud voice in the Jews' speech unto the people of Jerusalem that were on the wall, to affright them, and to trouble them; that they might take the city.

Slujitorii lui Sanherib au strigat cu glas tare în limba evreiască, pentru ca să arunce groaza şi spaima în poporul din Ierusalim, care era pe zid, şi să poată pune astfel stăpânire pe cetate.

And they shouted it with a loud voice in the language of Judah to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, to frighten and terrify them, in order that they might take the city.

Úgy szóltak Jeruzsálem Istenéről, mint a föld népeinek isteneiről, melyeket emberi kéz alkotott.

És [úgy] szólának a Jeruzsálem Istenéről, mint a föld népeinek istenei felől, melyek emberi kézzel csináltattak.

And they spake against the God of Jerusalem, as against the gods of the people of the earth, which were the work of the hands of man.

Au vorbit despre Dumnezeul Ierusalimului ca despre dumnezeii popoarelor pământului, care sunt lucrarea mâinilor omeneşti.

And they spoke of the God of Jerusalem as they spoke of the gods of the peoples of the earth, which are the work of men’s hands.

Akkor Ezékiás király és vele együtt Ézsaiás próféta, Ámóc fia is könyörgött e káromlás miatt, és segítségért kiáltottak az ég felé.

Akkor Ezékiás király könyörge, és [ő vele] Ésaiás próféta az Ámós fia e [káromlásért,] és felkiáltának az égre.

And for this cause Hezekiah the king, and the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz, prayed and cried to heaven.

Împăratul Ezechia şi prorocul Isaia, fiul lui Amoţ, au început să se roage pentru lucrul acesta şi au strigat către cer.

Then Hezekiah the king and Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, prayed because of this and cried to heaven.

Az ÚR pedig elküldte angyalát, aki minden erős vitézt, fejedelmet és vezért megölt az asszír király táborában, és ő nagy szégyennel visszatért országába. Mikor pedig bement istenének házába, ott saját fiai fegyverrel ölték meg.

És elbocsátá az Úr az ő angyalát, a ki megöle minden erős vitézt, előljárót és vezért az assiriai király táborában, és nagy szégyennel megtére az ő földébe. Bemenvén pedig az ő istenének házába, ott az ő saját fiai fegyverrel ölék meg őt.

And the LORD sent an angel, which cut off all the mighty men of valour, and the leaders and captains in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. And when he was come into the house of his god, they that came forth of his own bowels slew him there with the sword.

Atunci Domnul a trimis un înger care a nimicit în tabăra împăratului Asiriei pe toţi vitejii, domnitorii şi căpeteniile. Şi împăratul s-a întors ruşinat în ţara lui. A intrat în casa dumnezeului său, şi cei ce ieşiseră din coapsele lui l-au ucis acolo cu sabia.

And the LORD sent an angel, who cut off all the mighty warriors and commanders and officers in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. And when he came into the house of his god, some of his own sons struck him down there with the sword.

Megszabadította tehát az ÚR Ezékiást és Jeruzsálem népét Szanhéribtől, az asszír királytól és mindenki mástól, és nyugalmat adott nekik mindenfelől.

Megszabadítá azért az Úr Ezékiást és a Jeruzsálem népét Sénakhéribtől az assiriai királytól, és minden másoktól, és védelmezé őket mindenfelől.

Thus the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria, and from the hand of all other, and guided them on every side.

Astfel a scăpat Domnul pe Ezechia şi pe locuitorii Ierusalimului din mâna lui Sanherib, împăratul Asiriei, şi din mâna tuturor şi i-a ocrotit împotriva celor ce-i împresurau.

So the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib king of Assyria and from the hand of all his enemies, and he provided for them on every side.

Sokan hoztak ezért ajándékokat Jeruzsálembe az ÚRnak és drágaságokat Ezékiásnak, Júda királyának, és nagy tekintélye lett minden nép előtt.

És sokan ajándékokat hoznak vala Jeruzsálembe az Úrnak, Ezékiásnak is a Júda királyának drágaságokat, és ő felmagasztaltatott minden pogányok szemei előtt azután.

And many brought gifts unto the LORD to Jerusalem, and presents to Hezekiah king of Judah: so that he was magnified in the sight of all nations from thenceforth.

Mulţi au adus Domnului daruri în Ierusalim şi au adus daruri bogate lui Ezechia, împăratul lui Iuda, care de atunci s-a înălţat în ochii tuturor popoarelor.

And many brought gifts to the LORD to Jerusalem and precious things to Hezekiah king of Judah, so that he was exalted in the sight of all nations from that time onward.

Abban az időben Ezékiás halálos betegségbe esett, de könyörgött az ÚRhoz, aki szólt hozzá, és csodajelt adott neki.

In those days Hezekiah was sick to the death, and prayed unto the LORD: and he spake unto him, and he gave him a sign.

În vremea aceea, Ezechia a fost bolnav de moarte. El a făcut o rugăciune Domnului. Domnul i-a vorbit şi i-a dat un semn.

In those days Hezekiah became sick and was at the point of death, and he prayed to the LORD, and he answered him and gave him a sign.

Azonban nem volt hálás Ezékiás az iránta tanúsított jótéteményért, felfuvalkodott magában, és ezért Isten haragja sújtotta őt és Júdát és Jeruzsálemet.

De nem cselekedék Ezékiás az ő hozzá való jótétemény szerint, mert magában felfuvalkodék, azért [Istennek] haragja lőn rajta, Júdán és Jeruzsálemen.

But Hezekiah rendered not again according to the benefit done unto him; for his heart was lifted up: therefore there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem.

Dar Ezechia n-a răsplătit binefacerea pe care a primit-o, căci i s-a îngâmfat inima. Mânia Domnului a venit peste el, peste Iuda şi peste Ierusalim.

But Hezekiah did not make return according to the benefit done to him, for his heart was proud. Therefore wrath came upon him and Judah and Jerusalem.

De amikor megalázta magát felfuvalkodottságában Ezékiás Jeruzsálem lakosaival együtt, nem szállt többé rájuk az ÚR haragja Ezékiás idejében.

Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD came not upon them in the days of Hezekiah.

Atunci Ezechia s-a smerit din mândria lui, împreună cu locuitorii Ierusalimului, şi mânia Domnului n-a venit peste ei în timpul vieţii lui Ezechia.

But Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD did not come upon them in the days of Hezekiah.

Ezékiásnak igen nagy gazdagsága és dicsősége volt, és az ezüst, az arany, a drágakövek és drága fűszerek, pajzsok és mindenféle drága dolgok számára kincstárat készíttetett magának.

És igen nagy gazdagsága és dicsősége vala Ezékiásnak. És csináltatott magának kincsesházat az ezüst, arany, drágakövek és drága fűszerszámok, paizsok és mindenféle drága szerszámok számára;

And Hezekiah had exceeding much riches and honour: and he made himself treasuries for silver, and for gold, and for precious stones, and for spices, and for shields, and for all manner of pleasant jewels;

Ezechia a avut multe bogăţii şi multă slavă. Şi-a făcut vistierii de argint, de aur, de pietre scumpe, de mirodenii, de scuturi şi de toate lucrurile care se pot dori;

And Hezekiah had very great riches and honor, and he made for himself treasuries for silver, for gold, for precious stones, for spices, for shields, and for all kinds of costly vessels;

A gabona-, a bor- és az olajtermésnek raktárakat, és mindenféle állat számára istállókat, a nyájaknak pedig aklokat készíttetett.

És tárházakat jövedelmének a gabonának, bornak, olajnak számára, és mindenféle barom számára istállókat, a nyájaknak pedig aklokat.

Storehouses also for the increase of corn, and wine, and oil; and stalls for all manner of beasts, and cotes for flocks.

hambare pentru roadele de grâu, de must şi de untdelemn, grajduri pentru tot felul de vite şi staule pentru oi.

storehouses also for the yield of grain, wine, and oil; and stalls for all kinds of cattle, and sheepfolds.

Városokat is építtetett magának. Igen sok juhot és állatot is szerzett, mert Isten nagy gazdagságot adott neki.

Moreover he provided him cities, and possessions of flocks and herds in abundance: for God had given him substance very much.

Ezékiás volt az, aki elzárta a Gíhón vizének felső forrását, és Dávid városának nyugati részén vezette le azt. Ezékiás minden dolgában igen eredményes volt.

This same Hezekiah also stopped the upper watercourse of Gihon, and brought it straight down to the west side of the city of David. And Hezekiah prospered in all his works.

Howbeit in the business of the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to enquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.

Aztán elaludt Ezékiás, és atyáihoz tért, és azon a dombon temették el, ahol Dávid fiainak a sírjai voltak, és egész Júda és Jeruzsálem nagy tisztességet tett neki halálakor. Utána fia, Manassé lett a király.

Meghala pedig Ezékiás az ő atyáival, és eltemeték őt a Dávid fiainak sírjaihoz vivő feljárón, és mind az egész Júda és Jeruzsálem nagy tisztességet tettek néki az ő halálának idején. És uralkodék Manasse, az ő fia helyette.

And Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the chiefest of the sepulchres of the sons of David: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem did him honour at his death. And Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.

And Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the upper part of the tombs of the sons of David, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem did him honor at his death. And Manasseh his son reigned in his place.
