Történt ezután, hogy meghalt Náhás, Ammón fiainak a királya, és utána a fia lett a király.

Now it came to pass after this, that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon died, and his son reigned in his stead.

După aceea, Nahaş, împăratul fiilor lui Amon, a murit, şi în locul lui a domnit fiul său.

Now after this Nahash the king of the Ammonites died, and his son reigned in his place.

Dávid azt mondta: Jóindulattal leszek Náhás fiához, Hánúnhoz, mert apja is jót tett velem. Ezért Dávid követeket küldött hozzá, hogy vigasztalják őt apja halála miatt. El is mentek Dávid szolgái Ammón fiainak a földjére Hánúnhoz, hogy vigasztalják.

És monda Dávid: Minden jóval leszek a Náhás fiához, Hánunhoz; mert az ő atyja is jól tett volt velem. Ezért Dávid követeket külde ő hozzá, a kik vigasztalnák őt az ő atyjának [halála] miatt; és elmenének a Dávid szolgái az Ammon fiainak földére Hánunhoz, hogy őt vigasztalnák.

And David said, I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father shewed kindness to me. And David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. So the servants of David came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun, to comfort him.

David a zis: „Voi arăta bunăvoinţă lui Hanun, fiul lui Nahaş, căci tatăl lui a arătat bunăvoinţă faţă de mine.” Şi David a trimis soli să-l mângâie pentru moartea tatălui său. Când au ajuns slujitorii lui David în ţara fiilor lui Amon, la Hanun, ca să-l mângâie,

And David said, “I will deal kindly with Hanun the son of Nahash, for his father dealt kindly with me.” So David sent messengers to console him concerning his father. And David’s servants came to the land of the Ammonites to Hanun to console him.

Akkor azt mondták Ammón fiainak a főemberei Hánúnnak: Azt hiszed, hogy Dávid apád iránti tiszteletből küldött hozzád vigasztalókat? Nem inkább azért jöttek-e az ő szolgái hozzád, hogy kifürkésszék, feldúlják és kikémleljék az országot?

Akkor mondának az Ammon fiainak főemberei Hánunnak: Azt hiszed-é, hogy Dávid atyád iránti tiszteletből küldött hozzád vigasztalókat? Avagy nem azért jöttek-é az ő szolgái hozzád, hogy a földet megvizsgálják, elpusztítsák és kikémleljék?

But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? are not his servants come unto thee for to search, and to overthrow, and to spy out the land?

căpeteniile fiilor lui Amon au zis lui Hanun: „Crezi că David îţi trimite oameni să te mângâie, ca să cinstească pe tatăl tău? – Oare n-au venit slujitorii lui la tine ca să cunoască cetatea şi s-o nimicească, şi ca să iscodească ţara?”

But the princes of the Ammonites said to Hanun, “Do you think, because David has sent comforters to you, that he is honoring your father? Have not his servants come to you to search and to overthrow and to spy out the land?”

Elfogatta azért Hánún Dávid szolgáit, és megnyíratta őket, ruhájukat félig levágatta deréktól lefelé, és úgy bocsátotta el őket.

Megfogatá azért Hánun a Dávid szolgáit és azokat megnyiratá, és ruhájokat félig elmetszeté az ő derekukig, és úgy bocsátá el őket.

Wherefore Hanun took David's servants, and shaved them, and cut off their garments in the midst hard by their buttocks, and sent them away.

So Hanun took David’s servants and shaved them and cut off their garments in the middle, at their hips, and sent them away;

Azok elmentek, Dávidot pedig értesítették, hogy mi történt a férfiakkal. Mivel azokat a férfiakat igen nagy szégyenbe hozták, eléjük küldött a király, és azt üzente: Maradjatok Jerikóban, amíg meg nem nő a szakállatok. Akkor térjetek vissza!

Elmenének pedig és értesíték Dávidot, hogy mi történt a férfiakkal. És külde eléjök (mert azok a férfiak felette nagy gyalázattal illettettek vala) és ezt izené a király: Maradjatok Jérikhóban, míg szakállatok megnövénd, akkor jőjjetek hozzám.

Then there went certain, and told David how the men were served. And he sent to meet them: for the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.

David, căruia au venit şi i-au dat de ştire despre cele întâmplate cu oamenii aceştia, a trimis nişte oameni înaintea lor, căci li se făcuse mare ruşine; şi împăratul a trimis să le spună: „Rămâneţi la Ierihon până vă va creşte barba, şi apoi să vă întoarceţi.”

and they departed. When David was told concerning the men, he sent messengers to meet them, for the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, “Remain at Jericho until your beards have grown and then return.”

Miután Ammón fiai látták, hogy meggyűlöltették magukat Dáviddal, elküldtek Hánún és Ammón fiai ezer talentum ezüstöt Aram-Naharaimba, Aram-Maakába és Cóbába, hogy harci szekereket és lovasokat fogadjanak fel.

Látván pedig az Ammon fiai, hogy tisztességtelen dolgot cselekedtek vala Dáviddal, küldének Hánun és az Ammon fiai ezer tálentom ezüstöt, hogy fogadjanak szekereket és lovagokat Mésopotámiából, siriai Maakából és Sóbából.

And when the children of Ammon saw that they had made themselves odious to David, Hanun and the children of Ammon sent a thousand talents of silver to hire them chariots and horsemen out of Mesopotamia, and out of Syriamaachah, and out of Zobah.

Fiii lui Amon au văzut că se făcuseră urâţi lui David, şi Hanun şi fiii lui Amon au trimis o mie de talanţi de argint să tocmească în slujba lor care şi călăreţi de la sirienii din Mesopotamia şi de la sirienii din Maaca şi din Ţoba.

When the Ammonites saw that they had become a stench to David, Hanun and the Ammonites sent 1,000 talents of silver to hire chariots and horsemen from Mesopotamia, from Aram-maacah, and from Zobah.

Fölfogadtak tehát maguknak harminckétezer harci szekeret, és Maaká királyát is hadinépével együtt, akik eljöttek, és tábort ütöttek Médebá előtt. Ammón fiai is összegyűltek városaikból, és hadba vonultak.

Fogadának azért magoknak harminczkétezer szekeret, Maakának királyát is az ő népével együtt, a kik eljövének és tábort járának Medeba előtt. Az Ammon fiai is összegyűlének az ő városaikból és jövének az ütközetre.

So they hired thirty and two thousand chariots, and the king of Maachah and his people; who came and pitched before Medeba. And the children of Ammon gathered themselves together from their cities, and came to battle.

Au tocmit treizeci şi două de mii de care şi pe împăratul din Maaca împreună cu poporul lui, care au venit şi au tăbărât înaintea Medebei. Fiii lui Amon s-au strâns din cetăţile lor şi au mers la luptă.

They hired 32,000 chariots and the king of Maacah with his army, who came and encamped before Medeba. And the Ammonites were mustered from their cities and came to battle.

Amint ezt meghallotta Dávid, elküldte Jóábot és a vitézek egész seregét.

A mit mikor meghallott Dávid, elküldé Joábot és a vitézek egész seregét.

And when David heard of it, he sent Joab, and all the host of the mighty men.

La auzul acestei veşti, David a trimis împotriva lor pe Ioab şi toată oştirea de oameni viteji.

When David heard of it, he sent Joab and all the army of the mighty men.

Ammón fiai kivonultak, csatarendbe álltak a város kapuja előtt. A királyok pedig, akik segítségére jöttek, külön álltak fel a mezőn.

És az Ammon fiai kimenvén, csatarendbe állának a város kapuja előtt; a mely királyok pedig [segítségre] jöttek vala, külön valának a mezőn.

And the children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array before the gate of the city: and the kings that were come were by themselves in the field.

Fiii lui Amon au ieşit şi s-au înşirat în linie de bătaie la intrarea cetăţii; împăraţii care veniseră au tăbărât deosebit pe câmp.

And the Ammonites came out and drew up in battle array at the entrance of the city, and the kings who had come were by themselves in the open country.

Látta Jóáb, hogy elöl is, hátul is ellenség áll. Ezért kiválasztotta egész Izráel harcosai közül a legvitézebbeket, és felsorakoztatta őket az arámok ellen.

Látván pedig Joáb, hogy mind elől, mind hátul ellenség állana, kiválaszta az egész Izráel harczosai közül [egynéhányat], és a Siriabeliek ellen rendelé.

Now when Joab saw that the battle was set against him before and behind, he chose out of all the choice of Israel, and put them in array against the Syrians.

Ioab a văzut că avea de luptat şi înainte şi înapoi. A ales atunci din toţi voinicii de frunte ai lui Israel o ceată pe care a aşezat-o împotriva sirienilor;

When Joab saw that the battle was set against him both in front and in the rear, he chose some of the best men of Israel and arrayed them against the Syrians.

A hadinép többi részét pedig testvérére, Abisajra bízta, és ezek az Ammón fiaival szemben álltak csatarendbe.

A nép többi részét pedig testvérére, Abisaira bízá, és [ezek] az Ammon fiaival állának szembe.

And the rest of the people he delivered unto the hand of Abishai his brother, and they set themselves in array against the children of Ammon.

şi a pus sub porunca fratelui său Abişai cealaltă parte a poporului, ca să ţină piept fiilor lui Amon.

The rest of his men he put in the charge of Abishai his brother, and they were arrayed against the Ammonites.

Azt mondta: Ha az arámok erősebbek lennének nálam, légy segítségemre! Ha pedig az Ammón fiai nálad erősebbek lennének, én segítlek meg.

És monda: Ha a Siriabeliek rajtam erőt vennének, légy segítségemre; ha pedig az Ammon fiai rajtad vennének erőt, én is megsegéllek.

And he said, If the Syrians be too strong for me, then thou shalt help me: but if the children of Ammon be too strong for thee, then I will help thee.

El a zis: „Dacă sirienii vor fi mai tari decât mine, să-mi vii tu în ajutor; şi dacă fiii lui Amon vor fi mai tari decât tine, îţi voi veni eu în ajutor.

And he said, “If the Syrians are too strong for me, then you shall help me, but if the Ammonites are too strong for you, then I will help you.

Légy erős, sőt legyünk bátrak mindnyájan népünkért és Istenünk városaiért. Az ÚR pedig cselekedje azt, ami neki tetszik.

Légy erős, sőt legyünk bátrak mindnyájan a mi népünkért és a mi Istenünk városaiért; az Úr pedig cselekedje azt, a mi néki tetszik.

Be of good courage, and let us behave ourselves valiantly for our people, and for the cities of our God: and let the LORD do that which is good in his sight.

Fii tare şi să ne îmbărbătăm pentru poporul nostru şi pentru cetăţile Dumnezeului nostru, şi Domnul să facă ce va crede!”

Be strong, and let us use our strength for our people and for the cities of our God, and may the LORD do what seems good to him.”

Akkor Jóáb és hada rohamra indult az arámok ellen, és azok megfutamodtak előle.

Harczra indula azért Joáb és az ő hada a Siriabeliek ellen, a kik ő előtte megfutamodának.

So Joab and the people that were with him drew nigh before the Syrians unto the battle; and they fled before him.

Ioab, cu poporul lui, a înaintat la luptă împotriva sirienilor, şi ei au fugit dinaintea lui.

So Joab and the people who were with him drew near before the Syrians for battle, and they fled before him.

Az Ammón fiai pedig, amikor látták, hogy futnak az arámok, ők is megfutamodtak az ő testvére, Abisaj elől, és a városba menekültek. Jóáb pedig Jeruzsálembe ment.

Az Ammon fiai pedig mikor látták, hogy megfutamodának a Siriabeliek: ők is megfutamodának Abisai elől az ő testvére elől, és a városba menekülének; Joáb pedig visszatért Jeruzsálembe.

And when the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians were fled, they likewise fled before Abishai his brother, and entered into the city. Then Joab came to Jerusalem.

Şi, când au văzut fiii lui Amon că sirienii o luaseră la fugă, au fugit şi ei dinaintea lui Abişai, fratele lui Ioab, şi s-au întors în cetate. Şi Ioab s-a întors la Ierusalim.

And when the Ammonites saw that the Syrians fled, they likewise fled before Abishai, Joab’s brother, and entered the city. Then Joab came to Jerusalem.

Amikor az arámok látták, hogy Izráel megverte őket, követeket küldtek, és segítségül hívták a folyamon túl lakó arámokat. Sófak, Hadadezer seregeinek vezére állt az élükön.

Látván pedig a Siriabeliek, hogy az Izráel előtt megverettetének, követeket küldének és kihozatták a Siriabelieket, a kik a folyóvizen túl laknak vala, és Sófák, a Hadadézer seregeinek vezére volt az előljárójuk.

And when the Syrians saw that they were put to the worse before Israel, they sent messengers, and drew forth the Syrians that were beyond the river: and Shophach the captain of the host of Hadarezer went before them.

Sirienii, văzând că fuseseră bătuţi de Israel, au trimis şi au adus pe sirienii care erau de cealaltă parte a Râului; şi Şofah, căpetenia oştirii lui Hadarezer, era în fruntea lor.

But when the Syrians saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they sent messengers and brought out the Syrians who were beyond the Euphrates, with Shophach the commander of the army of Hadadezer at their head.

Mikor pedig hírül adták ezt Dávidnak, ő összegyűjtötte egész Izráelt, és a Jordán vizén átkelve elment hozzájuk, és fölsorakozott ellenük. Amikor Dávid csatasorba állt az arámok ellen, azok megütköztek vele.

Mikor pedig hírül adák Dávidnak, összegyűjté az egész Izráelt, és a Jordán vizén átmenvén, hozzájok érkezék és csatarendbe állott ellenök. És mikor csatarendbe állott Dávid a Siriabeliek ellen, ők is megütközének ő vele.

And it was told David; and he gathered all Israel, and passed over Jordan, and came upon them, and set the battle in array against them. So when David had put the battle in array against the Syrians, they fought with him.

Au dat de ştire lui David, care a strâns pe tot Israelul, a trecut Iordanul, a mers împotriva lor şi s-a pregătit de luptă împotriva lor. David s-a înşiruit în linie de bătaie împotriva sirienilor. Dar sirienii, după ce se bătuseră cu el,

And when it was told to David, he gathered all Israel together and crossed the Jordan and came to them and drew up his forces against them. And when David set the battle in array against the Syrians, they fought with him.

De az arámok megfutamodtak Izráel elől, és levágott Dávid az arámok közül hétezer harci szekerest és negyvenezer gyalogost. Sőt Sófakot, a sereg vezérét is megölte.

De a Siriabeliek megfutamodának Izráel elől, és levága Dávid a Siriabeliek közül hétezer szekeret és negyvenezer gyalogot; annakfelette Sófákot, a sereg vezérét is megölé.

But the Syrians fled before Israel; and David slew of the Syrians seven thousand men which fought in chariots, and forty thousand footmen, and killed Shophach the captain of the host.

au fugit dinaintea lui Israel. David le-a ucis oamenii de la şapte mii de care şi patruzeci de mii de pedestraşi şi a omorât pe Şofah, căpetenia oştirii.

And the Syrians fled before Israel, and David killed of the Syrians the men of 7,000 chariots and 40,000 foot soldiers, and put to death also Shophach the commander of their army.

Mikor pedig Hadadezer szolgái látták, hogy Izráel legyőzte őket, békét kötöttek Dáviddal, és szolgáltak neki. Ezután az arámok nem akarták többször megsegíteni Ammón fiait.

Mikor pedig látták a Hadadézer szolgái, hogy Izráel előtt legyőzetének: békét kötöttek Dáviddal és szolgálának néki, és nem akarák többször a Siriabeliek megsegélleni az Ammon fiait.

And when the servants of Hadarezer saw that they were put to the worse before Israel, they made peace with David, and became his servants: neither would the Syrians help the children of Ammon any more.

Slujitorii lui Hadarezer, văzându-se bătuţi de Israel, au făcut pace cu David şi i s-au supus. Şi sirienii n-au vrut să mai ajute pe fiii lui Amon.

And when the servants of Hadadezer saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they made peace with David and became subject to him. So the Syrians were not willing to save the Ammonites anymore.
