Amikor elvégezte Jézus a tizenkét tanítványának adott utasítást, elment onnan, hogy tanítson és prédikáljon városaikban.

And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.

După ce a isprăvit de dat învăţături la cei doisprezece ucenici ai Săi, Isus a plecat de acolo, ca să înveţe pe oameni şi să propovăduiască în cetăţile lor.

When Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he went on from there to teach and preach in their cities.

Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,

Now when John heard in prison about the deeds of the Christ, he sent word by his disciples

Te vagy-e az Eljövendő, vagy mást várjunk?

Monda néki: Te vagy-é az, a ki eljövendő, vagy mást várjunk?

And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?

şi a trimis să-L întrebe prin ucenicii săi: „Tu eşti Acela care are să vină sau să aşteptăm pe altul?”

and said to him, “Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?”

Jézus így válaszolt: Menjetek el, és jelentsétek Jánosnak, amit hallotok és láttok:

És felelvén Jézus, monda nékik: Menjetek el és jelentsétek Jánosnak, a miket hallotok és láttok:

Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:

Drept răspuns, Isus le-a zis: „Duceţi-vă de spuneţi lui Ioan ce auziţi şi ce vedeţi:

And Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John what you hear and see:

a vakok látnak, a sánták járnak, a leprások megtisztulnak, a süketek hallanak, a halottak föltámadnak, és a szegényeknek az evangéliumot hirdetik.

A vakok látnak, és a sánták járnak; a poklosok megtisztulnak és a siketek hallanak; a halottak föltámadnak, és a szegényeknek evangyéliom hirdettetik;

The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

orbii îşi capătă vederea, şchiopii umblă, leproşii sunt curăţaţi, surzii aud, morţii învie şi săracilor li se propovăduieşte Evanghelia.

the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.

Boldog az, aki nem botránkozik meg bennem.

És boldog, a ki én bennem meg nem botránkozik.

And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

Ferice de acela pentru care Eu nu voi fi un prilej de poticnire.”

And blessed is the one who is not offended by me.”

Amikor azok eltávoztak, Jézus beszélni kezdett a sokaságnak Jánosról: Mit látni mentetek ki a pusztába? Szélingatta nádszálat?

Mikor pedig azok elmentek vala, szólni kezde Jézus a sokaságnak Jánosról: Mit látni mentetek ki a pusztába? Nádszálat-é, a mit a szél hajtogat?

And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?

Pe când se duceau ei, Isus a început să vorbească noroadelor despre Ioan: „Ce aţi ieşit să vedeţi în pustiu? O trestie clătinată de vânt?

As they went away, Jesus began to speak to the crowds concerning John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?

Mit látni mentetek hát ki? Finom ruhákba öltözött embert? Hiszen akik finom ruhákat viselnek, a királyok palotáiban vannak.

Hát mit látni mentetek ki? Puha ruhába öltözött embert-é? Ímé a kik puha ruhákat viselnek, a királyok palotáiban vannak.

But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings' houses.

Dacă nu, atunci ce aţi ieşit să vedeţi? Un om îmbrăcat în haine moi? Iată că cei ce poartă haine moi sunt în casele împăraţilor.

What then did you go out to see? A man dressed in soft clothing? Behold, those who wear soft clothing are in kings’ houses.

De hát miért is mentetek ki? Prófétát látni? Bizony mondom: még a prófétánál is nagyobbat láttatok.

Hát mit látni mentetek ki? Prófétát-é? Bizony, mondom néktek, prófétánál is nagyobbat!

But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.

Atunci ce aţi ieşit să vedeţi? Un proroc? Da, vă spun, şi mai mult decât un proroc;

What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.

Ő az, akiről meg van írva: Íme, elküldöm követemet előtted, aki elkészíti előtted a te utadat.

Mert ő az, a kiről meg van írva: Ímé én elküldöm az én követemet a te orczád előtt, a ki megkészíti előtted a te útadat.

For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

căci el este acela despre care s-a scris: „Iată, trimit înaintea feţei Tale pe solul Meu care Îţi va pregăti calea înaintea Ta.”

This is he of whom it is written, “‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’

Bizony mondom nektek: Asszonytól születettek között nem támadt nagyobb Keresztelő Jánosnál, pedig a mennyek országában a legkisebb is nagyobb nála.

Bizony mondom néktek: az asszonyoktól szülöttek között nem támadott nagyobb Keresztelő Jánosnál; de a ki legkisebb a mennyeknek országában, nagyobb nálánál.

Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

Adevărat vă spun că, dintre cei născuţi din femei, nu s-a sculat niciunul mai mare decât Ioan Botezătorul. Totuşi, cel mai mic în Împărăţia cerurilor este mai mare decât el.

Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

Keresztelő János napjaitól fogva mostanáig erővel törnek a mennyek országa felé, és ezek az erőszakosok el is ragadják azt.

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force.

For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

És ha el tudjátok fogadni: Illés ő, aki eljövendő.

És, ha be akarjátok venni, Illés ő, a ki eljövendő vala.

And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.

Şi, dacă vreţi să înţelegeţi, el este Ilie care trebuia să vină.

and if you are willing to accept it, he is Elijah who is to come.

Akinek van füle a hallásra, hallja meg!

A kinek van füle a hallásra, hallja.

He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Cine are urechi de auzit să audă.

He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

De kihez hasonlítsam ezt a nemzedéket? Hasonló azokhoz a gyermekekhez, akik a piacon ülnek, és így kiáltoznak a többieknek:

De kihez hasonlítsam ezt a nemzetséget? Hasonlatos a gyermekekhez, a kik a piaczon ülnek, és kiáltoznak az ő társaiknak,

But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,

Cu cine voi asemăna neamul acesta de oameni? Seamănă cu nişte copilaşi care şed în pieţe şi strigă la tovarăşii lor:

“But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to their playmates,

Fuvoláztunk nektek, és ti nem táncoltatok, siratót énekeltünk, és ti nem sírtatok.

És ezt mondják: Sípoltunk néktek, és nem tánczoltatok; siralmas énekeket énekeltünk néktek, és nem sírtatok.

And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.

„V-am cântat din fluier, şi n-aţi jucat; v-am cântat de jale, şi nu v-aţi tânguit.”

“‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.’

Mert eljött János, aki se nem eszik, se nem iszik, és azt mondják: Ördög van benne.

For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.

Căci a venit Ioan, nici mâncând, nici bând, şi ei zic: „Are drac!”

For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’

Eljött az Emberfia, aki eszik, iszik, és ezt mondják: Íme, a nagyétkű és részeges ember, a vámszedők és bűnösök barátja! A bölcsességet tettei igazolják.

Eljött az embernek Fia, a ki eszik és iszik, és ezt mondják: Ímé a nagy étü és részeges ember, a vámszedők és bűnösök barátja! És igazoltaték a bölcseség az ő fiaitól.

The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

A venit Fiul omului mâncând şi bând, şi ei zic: „Iată un om mâncăcios şi băutor de vin, un prieten al vameşilor şi al păcătoşilor!” Totuşi, Înţelepciunea a fost îndreptăţită din lucrările ei.”

The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds.”

Akkor korholni kezdte azokat a városokat, amelyekben a legtöbb csodát tette, és mégsem tértek meg:

Ekkor elkezdé szemökre hányni ama városoknak, a melyekben legtöbb csodái lőnek, hogy nem tértek vala meg:

Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:

Atunci Isus a început să mustre cetăţile în care fuseseră făcute cele mai multe din minunile Lui, pentru că nu se pocăiseră.

Then he began to denounce the cities where most of his mighty works had been done, because they did not repent.

Jaj neked, Korazin! Jaj neked, Bétsaida! Mert ha Tíruszban és Szidónban történtek volna azok a csodák, amelyek nálatok történtek, régen megtértek volna zsákban és hamuban!

Jaj néked Korazin! Jaj néked Bethsaida! Mert ha Tirusban és Sidonban történnek vala azok a csodák, a melyek bennetek lőnek, rég megtértek volna gyászruhában és hamuban.

Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

„Vai de tine, Horazine!”, a zis El. „Vai de tine, Betsaido! Căci, dacă ar fi fost făcute în Tir şi Sidon minunile care au fost făcute în voi, de mult s-ar fi pocăit cu sac şi cenuşă.

“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

De mondom nektek: Tírusznak és Szidónnak könnyebb lesz az ítélet napján, mint nektek.

De mondom néktek: Tirusnak és Sidonnak könnyebb dolga lesz az ítélet napján, hogynem néktek.

But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.

De aceea, vă spun că, în ziua judecăţii, va fi mai uşor pentru Tir şi Sidon decât pentru voi.

But I tell you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you.

És te, Kapernaum, nem az égig magasztaltattál-e fel? A pokolig zuhansz alá, mert ha Sodomában történtek volna azok a csodák, amelyek benned történtek, mind e mai napig megmaradt volna.

Te is Kapernaum, a ki az égig felmagasztaltattál, a pokolig fogsz megaláztatni; mert ha Sodomában történnek vala azok a csodák, a melyek te benned lőnek, mind e mai napig megmaradt volna.

And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

Şi tu, Capernaume, vei fi înălţat oare până la cer? Vei fi coborât până la Locuinţa morţilor; căci, dacă ar fi fost făcute în Sodoma minunile care au fost făcute în tine, ea ar fi rămas în picioare până în ziua de astăzi.

And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You will be brought down to Hades. For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

De mondom nektek, hogy Sodoma földjének könnyebb lesz az ítélet napján, mint neked.

De mondom néktek, hogy Sodoma földének könnyebb dolga lesz az ítélet napján, hogynem néked.

But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

De aceea, vă spun că, în ziua judecăţii, va fi mai uşor pentru ţinutul Sodomei decât pentru tine.”

But I tell you that it will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom than for you.”

Abban az időben Jézus ezt mondta: Magasztallak, Atyám, mennynek és földnek Ura, hogy elrejtetted ezeket a bölcsek és az értelmesek elől, de kijelentetted a kisgyermekeknek.

Abban az időben szólván Jézus, monda: Hálákat adok néked, Atyám, mennynek és földnek Ura, hogy elrejtetted ezeket a bölcsek és az értelmesek elől, és a kisdedeknek megjelentetted.

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

În vremea aceea, Isus a luat cuvântul şi a zis: „Te laud, Tată, Doamne al cerului şi al pământului, pentru că ai ascuns aceste lucruri de cei înţelepţi şi pricepuţi, şi le-ai descoperit pruncilor.

At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children;

Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.

yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.

Mindent nekem adott át az én Atyám, és senki sem ismeri a Fiút, csak az Atya, és az Atyát sem ismeri senki, csak a Fiú, és akinek a Fiú kijelenti.

Mindent nékem adott át az én Atyám, és senki sem ismeri a Fiút, csak az Atya; az Atyát sem ismeri senki, csak a Fiú, és a kinek a Fiú akarja megjelenteni.

All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

„Toate lucrurile Mi-au fost date în mâini de Tatăl Meu; şi nimeni nu cunoaşte deplin pe Fiul, afară de Tatăl; tot astfel nimeni nu cunoaşte deplin pe Tatăl, afară de Fiul şi acela căruia vrea Fiul să i-L descopere.

All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

Jöjjetek énhozzám mindnyájan, akik megfáradtatok, és meg vagytok terhelve, és én megnyugvást adok nektek.

Jőjjetek én hozzám mindnyájan, a kik megfáradtatok és megterheltettetek, és én megnyugosztlak titeket.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Veniţi la Mine, toţi cei trudiţi şi împovăraţi, şi Eu vă voi da odihnă.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Vegyétek magatokra az én igámat, és tanuljátok meg tőlem, hogy én szelíd és alázatos szívű vagyok, és lelketek nyugalmat talál.

Vegyétek föl magatokra az én igámat, és tanuljátok meg tőlem, hogy én szelid és alázatos szívű vagyok: és nyugalmat találtok a ti lelkeiteknek.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Luaţi jugul Meu asupra voastră şi învăţaţi de la Mine, căci Eu sunt blând şi smerit cu inima; şi veţi găsi odihnă pentru sufletele voastre.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
