Mivel sokan megkísérelték már írásba foglalni azoknak az eseményeknek az elbeszélését, amelyek közöttünk beteljesedtek,

Mivelhogy sokan kezdették rendszerint megírni azoknak a dolgoknak az elbeszélését, a melyek minálunk beteljesedtek,

Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us,

Fiindcă mulţi s-au apucat să alcătuiască o istorisire amănunţită despre lucrurile care s-au petrecut printre noi,

Inasmuch as many have undertaken to compile a narrative of the things that have been accomplished among us,

ahogyan azt ránk hagyták azok, akik kezdettől fogva szemtanúi és szolgái voltak az igének,

A mint nékünk előnkbe adták, a kik kezdettől fogva szemtanúi és szolgái voltak az ígének:

Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;

după cum ni le-au încredinţat cei ce le-au văzut cu ochii lor de la început şi au ajuns slujitori ai Cuvântului,

just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word have delivered them to us,

magam is jónak láttam, ki eleitől fogva mindennek szorgalmasan utánajártam, hogy azokat szép rendben leírjam neked, nagyra becsült Teofilusz,

Tetszék énnékem is, ki eleitől fogva mindeneknek szorgalmasan végére jártam, hogy azokról rendszerint írjak néked, jó Theofilus,

It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus,

am găsit şi eu cu cale, preaalesule Teofile, după ce am făcut cercetări cu de-amănuntul asupra tuturor acestor lucruri de la obârşia lor, să ţi le scriu în şir unele după altele,

it seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time past, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus,

That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.

that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught.

Heródesnek, Júdea királyának idejében volt egy Zakariás nevű pap Abijá rendjéből, felesége, Erzsébet pedig Áron leányai közül való volt.

Heródesnek, a Júdea királyának idejében vala egy Zakariás nevű pap az Abia rendjéből; az ő felesége pedig az Áron leányai közül való vala, és annak neve Erzsébet.

There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.

În zilele lui Irod, împăratul Iudeii, era un preot, numit Zaharia, din ceata lui Abia. Nevasta lui era din fetele lui Aaron şi se chema Elisabeta.

In the days of Herod, king of Judea, there was a priest named Zechariah, of the division of Abijah. And he had a wife from the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.

Mindketten igazak voltak Isten előtt, feddhetetlenül éltek, és megtartották az Úr minden parancsolatát és rendelését.

És mind a ketten igazak valának az Isten előtt, kik az Úrnak minden parancsolataiban és rendeléseiben feddhetetlenül jártak.

And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

Amândoi erau neprihăniţi înaintea lui Dumnezeu şi păzeau fără pată toate poruncile şi toate rânduielile Domnului.

And they were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and statutes of the Lord.

De nem volt gyermekük, mert Erzsébet meddő volt, és már mindketten idős emberek voltak.

És nem volt nékik gyermekük, mert Erzsébet meddő vala, és mind a ketten [immár] idős emberek valának.

And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.

N-aveau copii, pentru că Elisabeta era stearpă; şi amândoi erau înaintaţi în vârstă.

But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and both were advanced in years.

Történt pedig, hogy amikor Zakariás beosztásának sorrendje szerint papi szolgálatot végzett Isten előtt,

Lőn pedig, hogy mikor ő rendjének sorában papi szolgálatot végzett az Isten előtt,

And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course,

Dar, pe când slujea Zaharia înaintea lui Dumnezeu, la rândul cetei lui,

Now while he was serving as priest before God when his division was on duty,

A papi tiszt szokása szerint reá jutott a sor, hogy bemenvén az Úrnak templomába, jó illatot gerjesszen.

According to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.

după obiceiul preoţiei, a ieşit la sorţi să intre să tămâieze în Templul Domnului.

according to the custom of the priesthood, he was chosen by lot to enter the temple of the Lord and burn incense.

A füstölőáldozat idején a nép sokasága kint imádkozott.

És a népnek egész sokasága imádkozék kívül a jó illatozás idején;

And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense.

În ceasul tămâierii, toată mulţimea norodului se ruga afară.

And the whole multitude of the people were praying outside at the hour of incense.

Neki pedig megjelent az Úr angyala, a füstölőoltár jobbja felől állva.

Néki pedig megjelenék az Úrnak angyala, állván a füstölő oltár jobbja felől.

And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.

Atunci un înger al Domnului s-a arătat lui Zaharia şi a stat în picioare la dreapta altarului pentru tămâiere.

And there appeared to him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.

Ennek láttára megrettent Zakariás, és félelem vett erőt rajta.

És láttára megrettene Zakariás, és félelem szállá meg őt.

And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.

Zaharia s-a înspăimântat, când l-a văzut; şi l-a apucat frica.

And Zechariah was troubled when he saw him, and fear fell upon him.

De az angyal azt mondta neki: Ne félj, Zakariás, mert meghallgattatott a te könyörgésed, és feleséged, Erzsébet fiút szül neked, akit Jánosnak fogsz nevezni.

Monda pedig az angyal néki: Ne félj Zakariás; mert meghallgattatott a te könyörgésed, és a te feleséged Erzsébet szül néked fiat, és nevezed az ő nevét Jánosnak.

But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

Dar îngerul i-a zis: „Nu te teme Zahario; fiindcă rugăciunea ta a fost ascultată. Nevasta ta Elisabeta îţi va naşte un fiu, căruia îi vei pune numele Ioan.

But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.

Örömödre és vigasságodra lesz, és születésén sokan fognak örvendezni,

És lészen tenéked örömödre és vigasságodra, és sokan fognak örvendezni az ő születésén;

And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.

El va fi pentru tine o pricină de bucurie şi veselie, şi mulţi se vor bucura de naşterea lui.

And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth,

mert nagy lesz az Úr előtt, bort és részegítő italt nem iszik, és már anyja méhétől fogva betelik Szentlélekkel.

Mert nagy lészen az Úr előtt, és bort és részegítő italt nem iszik; és betelik Szent Lélekkel még az ő anyjának méhétől fogva.

For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.

Căci va fi mare înaintea Domnului. Nu va bea nici vin, nici băutură ameţitoare şi se va umple de Duhul Sfânt încă din pântecele maicii sale.

for he will be great before the Lord. And he must not drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.

Izráel fiai közül sokakat megtérít az Úrhoz, az ő Istenükhöz,

És az Izrael fiai közül sokakat megtérít az Úrhoz, az ő Istenükhöz.

And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.

El va întoarce pe mulţi din fiii lui Israel la Domnul Dumnezeul lor.

And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God,

és őelőtte jár majd Illés lelkével és erejével, hogy az atyák szívét a fiakhoz, és az engedetleneket az igazak bölcsességére térítse, hogy felkészített népet állítson az Úr elé.

És ez [Ő] előtte fog járni az Illés lelkével és erejével, hogy az atyák szívét a fiakhoz térítse, és az engedetleneket az igazak bölcsességére, hogy készítsen az Úrnak tökéletes népet.

And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Va merge înaintea lui Dumnezeu, în duhul şi puterea lui Ilie, ca să întoarcă inimile părinţilor la copii şi pe cei neascultători la umblarea în înţelepciunea celor neprihăniţi, ca să gătească Domnului un norod bine pregătit pentru El.”

and he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared.”

Ekkor Zakariás azt kérdezte az angyaltól: Miről tudhatom ezt meg? Mert én már öreg vagyok, és feleségem is előrehaladott korú.

És monda Zakariás az angyalnak: Miről tudhatom én ezt meg? mert én vén vagyok, és az én feleségem [is] igen idős.

And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

Zaharia a zis îngerului: „Din ce voi cunoaşte lucrul acesta? Fiindcă eu sunt bătrân, şi nevasta mea este înaintată în vârstă.”

And Zechariah said to the angel, “How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is advanced in years.”

Az angyal pedig így felelt: Én Gábriel vagyok, aki az Isten színe előtt állok, és azért küldettem, hogy beszéljek veled, és meghozzam neked ezt az örömhírt.

És felelvén az angyal, monda néki: Én Gábriel vagyok, ki az Isten előtt állok; és küldettem, hogy szóljak veled, és ez örvendetes dolgokat jelentsem néked.

And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.

Drept răspuns, îngerul i-a zis: „Eu sunt Gabriel care stau înaintea lui Dumnezeu; am fost trimis să-ţi vorbesc şi să-ţi aduc această veste bună.

And the angel answered him, “I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I was sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news.

De mivel nem hittél beszédemnek, amely beteljesedik a maga idejében, most azért megnémulsz, és nem szólhatsz mind ama napig, míg ezek meg nem lesznek.

És ímé megnémulsz és nem szólhatsz mindama napig, a melyen ezek meglesznek: mivelhogy nem hittél az én beszédimnek, a melyek beteljesednek az ő idejökben.

And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.

Iată că vei fi mut şi nu vei putea vorbi, până în ziua când se vor întâmpla aceste lucruri, pentru că n-ai crezut cuvintele mele care se vor împlini la vremea lor.”

And behold, you will be silent and unable to speak until the day that these things take place, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their time.”

A nép pedig várta Zakariást, és csodálkozott, hogy késik a templomban.

A nép pedig várja vala Zakariást, és csodálkozék, hogy a templomban késik.

And the people waited for Zacharias, and marvelled that he tarried so long in the temple.

Norodul însă aştepta pe Zaharia şi se mira de zăbovirea lui în Templu.

And the people were waiting for Zechariah, and they were wondering at his delay in the temple.

És amikor kijött, nem tudott szólni hozzájuk. Ebből megértették, hogy látomást látott a templomban. Csak integetett nekik, és néma maradt.

És kijövén, nem szólhata nékik; eszökbe vevék azért, hogy látást látott a templomban; mert ő [csak] integetett nékik, és néma maradt.

And when he came out, he could not speak unto them: and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple: for he beckoned unto them, and remained speechless.

Când a ieşit afară, nu putea să le vorbească; şi au înţeles că avusese o vedenie în Templu. El le făcea semne întruna şi a rămas mut.

And when he came out, he was unable to speak to them, and they realized that he had seen a vision in the temple. And he kept making signs to them and remained mute.

Amikor leteltek papi szolgálatának napjai, hazament.

És lőn, hogy mikor leteltek az ő szolgálatának napjai, elméne haza.

And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house.

După ce i s-au împlinit zilele de slujbă, Zaharia s-a dus acasă.

And when his time of service was ended, he went to his home.

E napok után pedig Erzsébet, az ő felesége fogant méhében, és elrejtőzött öt hónapig, mert ezt mondta:

E napok után pedig fogada méhében Erzsébet az ő felesége, és elrejtőzék öt hónapig, mondván:

And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying,

Peste câtva timp, Elisabeta, nevasta lui, a rămas însărcinată şi s-a ţinut ascunsă de tot cinci luni. „Căci”, zicea ea,

After these days his wife Elizabeth conceived, and for five months she kept herself hidden, saying,

Ezt tette velem az Úr azokban a napokban, amikor reám tekintett, hogy elvegye gyalázatomat az emberek előtt.

Így cselekedett velem az Úr a napokban, a melyekben [reám] tekinte, hogy elvegye az én gyalázatomat az emberek között.

Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.

„iată ce mi-a făcut Domnul, când Şi-a aruncat ochii spre mine, ca să-mi ia ocara dintre oameni.”

“Thus the Lord has done for me in the days when he looked on me, to take away my reproach among people.”

A hatodik hónapban pedig Isten elküldte Gábriel angyalt Galilea egyik városába, Názáretbe

A hatodik hónapban pedig elküldeték Gábriel angyal Istentől Galileának városába, a melynek neve Názáret,

And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

În luna a şasea, îngerul Gabriel a fost trimis de Dumnezeu într-o cetate din Galileea, numită Nazaret,

In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,

egy szűzhöz, aki a Dávid házából való József nevű férfiúnak volt eljegyezve. A szűznek pedig Mária volt a neve.

To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

la o fecioară logodită cu un bărbat, numit Iosif, din casa lui David. Numele fecioarei era Maria.

to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin’s name was Mary.

Bement hozzá az angyal, és azt mondta neki: Örülj, kegyelembe fogadott! Az Úr veled van, áldott vagy te az asszonyok között.

És bemenvén az angyal ő hozzá, monda néki: Örülj, kegyelembe fogadott! Az Úr veled van, áldott vagy te az asszonyok között.

And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

Îngerul a intrat la ea şi a zis: „Plecăciune, ţie, căreia ţi s-a făcut mare har; Domnul este cu tine, binecuvântată eşti tu între femei!”

And he came to her and said, “Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!”

Ő pedig nagyon zavarba jött e beszéd hallatán, és elgondolkodott, hogy micsoda köszöntés ez.

Az pedig látván, megdöbbene az ő beszédén, és elgondolkodék, [hogy] micsoda köszöntés ez?!

And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.

Tulburată foarte mult de cuvintele acestea, Maria se întreba singură ce putea să însemne urarea aceasta.

But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be.

Az angyal azt mondta neki: Ne félj, Mária, mert kegyelmet találtál Isten előtt.

És monda néki az angyal: Ne félj Mária, mert kegyelmet találtál az Istennél.

And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

Îngerul i-a zis: „Nu te teme, Marie; căci ai căpătat îndurare înaintea lui Dumnezeu.

And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.

És íme, fogansz méhedben, és fiút szülsz, akinek a neve Jézus.

És ímé fogansz a te méhedben, és szülsz fiat, és nevezed az ő nevét JÉZUSNAK.

And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

Şi iată că vei rămâne însărcinată şi vei naşte un Fiu, căruia Îi vei pune numele Isus.

And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.

Ő nagy lesz, és a Magasságos Fiának hívják majd, és neki adja az Úr Isten Dávidnak, az ő atyjának trónját,

Ez nagy lészen, és a Magasságos Fiának hivattatik; és néki adja az Úr Isten a Dávidnak, az ő atyjának, királyi székét;

He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

El va fi mare şi va fi chemat Fiul Celui Preaînalt; şi Domnul Dumnezeu Îi va da scaunul de domnie al tatălui Său David.

He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David,

és mindörökre uralkodni fog Jákób házán, királyságának soha nem lesz vége.

És uralkodik a Jákób házán mindörökké; és az ő királyságának vége nem lészen!

And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Va împărăţi peste casa lui Iacov în veci, şi Împărăţia Lui nu va avea sfârşit.”

and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”

Mária pedig azt mondta az angyalnak: Hogyan lehetséges ez, hiszen én férfit nem ismerek?

Monda pedig Mária az angyalnak: Mimódon lesz ez, holott én férfiat nem ismerek?

Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

Maria a zis îngerului: „Cum se va face lucrul acesta, fiindcă eu nu ştiu de bărbat?”

And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?”

Az angyal így válaszolt: A Szentlélek száll reád, és a Magasságos ereje árnyékol be téged, azért a születendőt is szentnek hívják, az Isten Fiának.

És felelvén az angyal, monda néki: A Szent Lélek száll te reád, és a Magasságosnak ereje árnyékoz meg téged; azért a mi születik is szentnek hivatik, Isten Fiának.

And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Îngerul i-a răspuns: „Duhul Sfânt Se va coborî peste tine, şi puterea Celui Preaînalt te va umbri. De aceea Sfântul care Se va naşte din tine, va fi chemat Fiul lui Dumnezeu.

And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God.

Íme, Erzsébet, a te rokonod is fiút fogant vénségében, és már hatodik hónapjában van az, akit meddőnek hívtak.

És ímé Erzsébet, a te rokonod, ő is fogant fiat az ő vénségében; és ez [már] a hatodik hónapja néki, a kit meddőnek hívtak:

And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

Iată că Elisabeta, rudenia ta, a zămislit şi ea un fiu la bătrâneţe; şi ea, căreia i se zicea stearpă, este acum în a şasea lună.

And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren.

Mert az Istennél semmi sem lehetetlen.

Mert az Istennél semmi sem lehetetlen.

For with God nothing shall be impossible.

Căci niciun cuvânt de la Dumnezeu nu este lipsit de putere.

For nothing will be impossible with God.”

Ekkor azt mondta Mária: Íme, az Úr szolgálólánya vagyok, történjék velem a te beszéded szerint! És eltávozott tőle az angyal.

Monda pedig Mária: Imhol az Úrnak szolgálója; legyen nékem a te beszéded szerint. És elméne ő tőle az angyal.

And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

Maria a zis: „Iată, roaba Domnului; facă-mi-se după cuvintele tale!” Şi îngerul a plecat de la ea.

And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Útra kelt azért Mária azokban a napokban, és nagy sietséggel elment a hegyvidékre, Júda egyik városába,

Fölkelvén pedig Mária azokban a napokban, nagy sietséggel méne a hegységbe, Júdának városába;

And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;

Maria s-a sculat chiar în zilele acelea şi a plecat în grabă spre munţi, într-o cetate a lui Iuda.

In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a town in Judah,

bement Zakariás házába, és köszöntötte Erzsébetet.

És beméne Zakariásnak házába, és köszönté Erzsébetet.

And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.

A intrat în casa lui Zaharia şi a urat de bine Elisabetei.

and she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth.

És történt, hogy amikor hallotta Erzsébet Mária köszöntését, a magzat repesett a méhében. Erzsébet betelt Szentlélekkel,

És lőn, mikor hallotta Erzsébet Mária köszöntését, a magzat repese az ő méhében; és betelék Erzsébet Szent Lélekkel;

And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:

Cum a auzit Elisabeta urarea Mariei, i-a săltat pruncul în pântece, şi Elisabeta s-a umplut de Duhul Sfânt.

And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit,

és hangos szóval felkiáltott: Áldott vagy te az asszonyok között, és áldott a te méhednek gyümölcse!

És fennszóval kiálta, mondván: Áldott vagy te az asszonyok között, és áldott a te méhednek gyümölcse.

And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.

Ea a strigat cu glas tare: „Binecuvântată eşti tu între femei şi binecuvântat este rodul pântecelui tău.

and she exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!

De hogyan lehetséges az, hogy az én Uram anyja eljön hozzám?

És honnét van ez nékem, hogy az én Uramnak anyja jön én hozzám?

And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

Cum mi-a fost dat mie să vină la mine maica Domnului meu?

And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

Mert íme, mihelyt a te köszöntésednek szava fülemhez jutott, a magzat örvendezéssel repesni kezdett méhemben.

Mert ímé, mihelyt a te köszöntésednek szava füleimbe hatolt, a magzat örvendezéssel kezde repesni az én méhemben.

For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.

Felvevé Izráelnek, az ő szolgájának ügyét, hogy megemlékezzék az ő irgalmasságáról.

A nyolcadik napon pedig eljöttek, hogy körülmetéljék a gyermeket, és apja nevéről Zakariásnak akarták nevezni.

És lőn nyolczad napon, eljövének, hogy körülmetéljék a gyermeket; és az ő atyja nevéről Zakariásnak akarák őt nevezni.

And it came to pass, that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they called him Zacharias, after the name of his father.

Erre azt mondták neki: De hiszen nincs senki a te rokonságodban, akit így hívnak! –

És mondának néki: Senki sincs a te rokonságodban, a ki ezen a néven neveztetnék.

And they said unto her, There is none of thy kindred that is called by this name.

Ei i-au zis: „Nimeni din rudeniile tale nu poartă numele acesta.”

And they said to her, “None of your relatives is called by this name.”

And he asked for a writing table, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marvelled all.

And he asked for a writing tablet and wrote, “His name is John.” And they all wondered.

Ekkor azonnal megnyílt a szája, megoldódott a nyelve, és áldotta Istent.

És feloldódék az ő szája és nyelve azonnal, és szóla, áldván az Istent.

And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, and praised God.

A szomszédokat pedig félelem töltötte el, és Júdeának egész hegyvidékén elterjedt ennek a híre.

És félelem szállott minden ő szomszédaikra; és Júdeának egész hegyes tartományában elhirdettetének mind e dolgok.

And fear came on all that dwelt round about them: and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Judaea.

Pe toţi vecinii i-a apucat frica şi în tot ţinutul acela muntos al Iudeii se vorbea despre toate aceste lucruri.

Akik hallották, mind szívükre vették, és azt mondták: Vajon mi lesz e gyermekből? Mert nyilván az Úr keze volt vele.

És szívökre vevék mindenek, a kik hallák, mondván: Vajjon mi lesz e gyermekből? És az Úrnak keze vala ő vele.

And all they that heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, What manner of child shall this be! And the hand of the Lord was with him.

Toţi cei ce le auzeau le păstrau în inima lor şi ziceau: „Oare ce va fi pruncul acesta?” Şi mâna Domnului era într-adevăr cu el.

and all who heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, “What then will this child be?” For the hand of the Lord was with him.

A kisgyermek pedig növekedett és erősödött lélekben, és a pusztában élt mind ama napig, amíg nyilvánosan föl nem lépett Izráelben.

A kis gyermek pedig nevekedik és erősödik vala lélekben; és a pusztában vala mind ama napig, a melyen megmutatta magát az Izráelnek.

And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.

Iar pruncul creştea şi se întărea în duh. Şi a stat în locuri pustii până în ziua arătării lui înaintea lui Israel.
