Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene,

În anul al cincisprezecelea al domniei lui Tiberiu Cezar – pe când Pilat din Pont era dregător în Iudeea, Irod, cârmuitor al Galileii, Filip, fratele lui, cârmuitor al Ituriei şi al Trahonitei, Lisania, cârmuitor al Abilenei,

Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.

during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John the son of Zechariah in the wilderness.

Ő pedig bejárta a Jordán egész vidékét, és hirdette a megtérés keresztségét a bűnök bocsánatára,

És méne a Jordán mellett lévő minden tartományba prédikálván a megtérés keresztségét a bűnöknek bocsánatjára;

And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;

Şi Ioan a venit prin tot ţinutul din împrejurimile Iordanului şi propovăduia botezul pocăinţei, pentru iertarea păcatelor,

And he went into all the region around the Jordan, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

ahogy meg van írva Ézsaiás próféta beszédeinek könyvében: Kiáltónak szava a pusztában: készítsétek az Úr útját, tegyétek egyenessé ösvényeit!

A mint meg van írva Ésaiás próféta beszédeinek könyvében, ki [ezt] mondja: Kiáltónak szava a pusztában: Készítsétek meg az Úrnak útját, egyengessétek az ő ösvényeit.

As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

după cum este scris în cartea cuvintelor prorocului Isaia: „Iată glasul celui ce strigă în pustiu: „Pregătiţi calea Domnului, neteziţi-I cărările.

As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

Minden völgyet töltsetek fel, minden hegyet és halmot simítsatok el, a görbe legyen egyenessé és a göröngyös simává.

Minden völgy betöltetik, minden hegy és halom megalacsonyíttatik; és az egyenetlenek egyenesekké, és a göröngyös útak símákká lesznek;

Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;

Orice vale va fi astupată, orice munte şi orice deal va fi prefăcut în loc neted; căile strâmbe vor fi îndreptate, şi drumurile zgrunţuroase vor fi netezite.

Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be made low, and the crooked shall become straight, and the rough places shall become level ways,

Azt mondta azért a sokaságnak, amely kiment hozzá, hogy megkeresztelkedjen általa: Viperák fajzatai! Ki figyelmeztetett titeket, hogy az eljövendő harag elől meneküljetek?

Monda azért a sokaságnak, a mely kiméne hozzá, hogy általa megkereszteltessék: Viperák fajzati, kicsoda intett meg titeket, hogy a bekövetkező harag elől meneküljetek?

Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

Ioan zicea, dar, noroadelor care veneau să fie botezate de el: „Pui de năpârci, cine v-a învăţat să fugiţi de mânia viitoare?

He said therefore to the crowds that came out to be baptized by him, “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

Teremjetek azért megtéréshez méltó gyümölcsöket, és nehogy azt kezdjétek mondogatni magatokban, hogy Ábrahám a mi atyánk; mert mondom nektek, hogy Isten ezekből a kövekből is támaszthat fiakat Ábrahámnak.

Teremjetek azért megtéréshez méltó gyümölcsöket, és ne mondogassátok magatokban: Ábrahám a mi atyánk! mert mondom néktek, hogy az Isten ezekből a kövekből is támaszthat fiakat Ábrahámnak.

Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

Faceţi, dar, roade vrednice de pocăinţa voastră şi nu vă apucaţi să ziceţi în voi înşivă: „Avem pe Avraam ca tată!” Căci vă spun că Dumnezeu din pietrele acestea poate să ridice fii lui Avraam.

Bear fruits in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham.

A fejsze immár a fák gyökerénél jár, és minden fát, amely jó gyümölcsöt nem terem, kivágnak, és tűzre vetnek.

Immár pedig a fejsze is rávettetett a fák gyökerére: minden fa azért, a mely jó gyümölcsöt nem terem, kivágattatik és a tűzre vettetik.

And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Securea a şi fost înfiptă la rădăcina pomilor: deci, orice pom care nu face rod bun este tăiat şi aruncat în foc.”

Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”

A sokaság pedig azt kérdezte: Mit tegyünk tehát?

És megkérdé őt a sokaság, mondván: Mit cselekedjünk tehát?

And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then?

Noroadele îl întrebau şi ziceau: „Atunci ce trebuie să facem?”

And the crowds asked him, “What then shall we do?”

Ő pedig így válaszolt: Akinek két ruhája van, egyiket adja annak, akinek nincs, és akinek van eledele, hasonlóképpen cselekedjék.

Ő pedig felelvén, monda nékik: A kinek két köntöse van, egyiket adja annak, a kinek nincs; és a kinek van eledele, hasonlókép cselekedjék.

He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.

Drept răspuns, el le zicea: „Cine are două haine să împartă cu cine n-are niciuna; şi cine are de mâncare să facă la fel.”

And he answered them, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”

És eljöttek a vámszedők is, hogy megkeresztelkedjenek, és így szóltak: Mester, mit cselekedjünk?

Then came also publicans to be baptized, and said unto him, Master, what shall we do?

Au venit şi nişte vameşi să fie botezaţi şi i-au zis: „Învăţătorule, noi ce trebuie să facem?”

Tax collectors also came to be baptized and said to him, “Teacher, what shall we do?”

Ő pedig azt mondta nekik: Semmi többet ne követeljetek, mint ami meg van szabva.

Ő pedig monda nékik: Semmi többet ne követeljetek, mint a mi előtökbe rendeltetett.

And he said unto them, Exact no more than that which is appointed you.

El le-a răspuns: „Să nu cereţi nimic mai mult peste ce v-a fost poruncit să luaţi.”

And he said to them, “Collect no more than you are authorized to do.”

Megkérdezték őt a katonák is: És mi mit tegyünk? Nekik azt mondta: Senkit se bántsatok, se meg ne zsaroljatok, hanem elégedjetek meg zsoldotokkal.

És megkérdék őt a vitézek is, mondván: Hát mi mit cselekedjünk? És monda nékik: Senkit se háborítsatok, se ne patvarkodjatok; és elégedjetek meg zsoldotokkal.

And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.

Nişte ostaşi îl întrebau şi ei şi ziceau: „Dar noi ce trebuie să facem?” El le-a răspuns: „Să nu stoarceţi nimic de la nimeni prin ameninţări, nici să nu învinuiţi pe nimeni pe nedrept, ci să vă mulţumiţi cu lefurile voastre.”

Soldiers also asked him, “And we, what shall we do?” And he said to them, “Do not extort money from anyone by threats or by false accusation, and be content with your wages.”

Mivel a nép feszültséggel teli várakozásban élt, és mind azt fontolgatta a szívében János felől, hogy vajon nem ő-e a Krisztus,

Mikor pedig a nép várt és szívökben mind azon gondolkoztak János felől, hogy vajjon nem ő-é a Krisztus;

And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John, whether he were the Christ, or not;

Fiindcă norodul era în aşteptare şi toţi se gândeau în inimile lor cu privire la Ioan, dacă nu cumva este el Hristosul,

As the people were in expectation, and all were questioning in their hearts concerning John, whether he might be the Christ,

ő mindenkinek így felelt: Én ugyan vízzel keresztellek titeket, de jön, aki erősebb nálam, és én nem vagyok méltó arra sem, hogy a saruja szíját megoldjam, ő majd Szentlélekkel és tűzzel keresztel titeket.

Felele János mindeneknek, mondván: Én ugyan keresztellek titeket vízzel; de eljő, a ki nálamnál erősebb, a kinek nem vagyok méltó, hogy sarujának kötőjét megoldjam: az majd keresztel titeket Szent Lélekkel és tűzzel:

John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

Ioan, drept răspuns, a zis tuturor: „Cât despre mine, eu vă botez cu apă; dar vine Acela care este mai puternic decât mine şi căruia eu nu sunt vrednic să-I dezleg cureaua încălţămintei. El vă va boteza cu Duhul Sfânt şi cu foc.

John answered them all, saying, “I baptize you with water, but he who is mightier than I is coming, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

Kezében szórólapát van, hogy megtisztítsa szérűjét, és a gabonát csűrébe takarítsa, a polyvát pedig megégeti olthatatlan tűzzel.

Kinek szórólapátja kezében van, és megtisztítja szérűjét; és a gabonát az ő csűrébe takarja, a polyvát pedig megégeti olthatatlan tűzzel.

Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.

Acela are lopata în mână; Îşi va curăţa aria cu desăvârşire şi Îşi va strânge grâul în grânar, iar pleava o va arde într-un foc care nu se stinge.”

His winnowing fork is in his hand, to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.”

Még sok másra is intette őket, és hirdette az evangéliumot a népnek.

És még sok egyebekre is intvén [őket], hirdeté az evangyéliomot a népnek.

And many other things in his exhortation preached he unto the people.

Astfel propovăduia Ioan norodului Evanghelia şi-i dădea încă multe alte îndemnuri.

So with many other exhortations he preached good news to the people.

Heródes negyedes fejedelmet megfeddte Heródiás miatt, testvérének, Fülöpnek a felesége és mindazon gonoszságok miatt, amelyeket Heródes cselekedett,

Mikor pedig Heródes, a negyedes fejedelem, megfeddetett ő tőle Heródiásért, az ő testvérének, Filepnek feleségéért és mindama gonoszságokért, a miket Heródes cselekedett,

But Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias his brother Philip's wife, and for all the evils which Herod had done,

Dar cârmuitorul Irod, care era mustrat de Ioan pentru Irodiada, nevasta fratelui său Filip, şi pentru toate relele pe care le făcuse,

But Herod the tetrarch, who had been reproved by him for Herodias, his brother’s wife, and for all the evil things that Herod had done,

aki mindezt még azzal tetézte, hogy Jánost tömlöcbe vettette.

Added yet this above all, that he shut up John in prison.

Történt pedig, hogy amikor az egész nép megkeresztelkedett, és Jézus is megkereszteltetett és imádkozott, megnyílt az ég,

Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,

és leszállt rá a Szentlélek galambhoz hasonló testi alakban, és hang hallatszott a mennyből: Te vagy az én szeretett Fiam, benned gyönyörködöm!

És leszálla ő reá a Szent Lélek testi ábrázatban mint egy galamb, és szózat lőn mennyből, ezt mondván: Te vagy amaz én szerelmes Fiam, te benned gyönyörködöm!

And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

şi Duhul Sfânt S-a coborât peste El în chip trupesc, ca un porumbel. Şi din cer s-a auzit un glas care zicea: „Tu eşti Fiul Meu preaiubit: în Tine Îmi găsesc toată plăcerea Mea!”

and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form, like a dove; and a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”
