In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

In the meantime, when so many thousands of the people had gathered together that they were trampling one another, he began to say to his disciples first, “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.

Nu este nimic acoperit, care nu va fi descoperit, nici ascuns, care nu va fi cunoscut.

Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.

Azért amit a sötétben mondtatok, fényes nappal fogják hallani, és amit zárt ajtók mögött fülbe súgtatok, azt a házak tetejéről fogják hirdetni.

Annakokáért a mit a sötétben mondtatok, a világosságban fog meghallatszani; és a mit fülbe sugtatok a rejtekházakban, azt a házak tetején fogják hirdetni.

Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

De aceea, orice aţi spus la întuneric va fi auzit la lumină; şi orice aţi grăit la ureche, în odăiţe, va fi vestit de pe acoperişul caselor.

Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops.

And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him!

Nemde öt verebet adnak két fillérért? És egyikükről sem feledkezik meg Isten.

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God.

Nektek pedig a fejetek hajszálai is mind számon vannak tartva. Ne féljetek azért, sok verebecskénél drágábbak vagytok.

But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Şi chiar perii din cap, toţi vă sunt număraţi. Deci să nu vă temeţi: voi sunteţi mai de preţ decât multe vrăbii.

Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:

“And I tell you, everyone who acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man also will acknowledge before the angels of God,

But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

but the one who denies me before men will be denied before the angels of God.

Ha valaki az Emberfia ellen szól, bocsánatot nyer, de aki a Szentlelket káromolja, az nem nyer bocsánatot.

És ha valaki valamit mond az embernek Fia ellen, megbocsáttatik annak; de annak, a ki a Szent Lélek ellen szól káromlást, meg nem bocsáttatik.

And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

Şi oricui va vorbi împotriva Fiului omului i se va ierta; dar oricui va huli împotriva Duhului Sfânt nu i se va ierta.

And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the one who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

Amikor majd zsinagógákba hurcolnak, felsőbbségek és hatóságok elé állítanak benneteket, ne aggodalmaskodjatok, hogy miként védekezzetek, vagy mit mondjatok,

Mikor pedig a zsinagógákba visznek benneteket, és a fejedelmek és hatalmasságok elé, ne aggodalmaskodjatok, mimódon vagy mit szóljatok védelmetekre, vagy mit mondjatok;

And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:

Când vă vor duce înaintea sinagogilor, înaintea dregătorilor şi înaintea stăpânirilor, să nu vă îngrijoraţi cum veţi răspunde pentru apărarea voastră, nici ce veţi vorbi;

And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious about how you should defend yourself or what you should say,

For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

căci Duhul Sfânt vă va învăţa chiar în ceasul acela ce va trebui să vorbiţi.”

for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”

Akkor megszólalt valaki a tömegből: Mester, mondd meg az én testvéremnek, hogy ossza meg velem az örökséget!

Monda pedig néki egy a sokaság közül: Mester, mondd meg az én testvéremnek, hogy oszsza meg velem az örökséget.

And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.

Unul din mulţime a zis lui Isus: „Învăţătorule, spune fratelui meu să împartă cu mine moştenirea noastră.”

Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”

Ő pedig azt mondta neki: Ember, ki tett engem köztetek bíróvá vagy osztóvá?

Ő pedig monda néki: Ember, ki tett engem köztetek biróvá vagy osztóvá?

And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?

„Omule”, i-a răspuns Isus, „cine M-a pus pe Mine judecător sau împărţitor peste voi?”

But he said to him, “Man, who made me a judge or arbitrator over you?”

Majd így szólt hozzájuk: Vigyázzatok, őrizkedjetek minden kapzsiságtól, mert nem a vagyonnal való bővölködésben van az ember élete.

Monda azért nékik: Meglássátok, hogy eltávoztassátok a telhetetlenséget; mert nem a vagyonnal való bővölködésben van az embernek az ő élete.

And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

Apoi le-a zis: „Vedeţi şi păziţi-vă de orice fel de lăcomie de bani; căci viaţa cuiva nu stă în belşugul avuţiei lui.”

And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”

És mondott nekik egy példázatot: Egy gazdag embernek bő termést hozott a földje,

And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:

And he told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man produced plentifully,

azért magában így okoskodott: Mit tegyek? Nincs hova betakarítanom a termésemet.

And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?

Şi el se gândea în sine şi zicea: „Ce voi face? Fiindcă nu mai am loc unde să-mi strâng roadele.”

and he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’

És azt mondta: Ezt teszem: lerontom a csűreimet, és nagyobbakat építek, és azokba takarítom be minden gabonámat és javaimat,

És monda: Ezt cselekszem: Az én csűreimet lerontom, és nagyobbakat építek; és azokba takarom minden gabonámat és az én javaimat.

And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.

„Iată”, a zis el, „ce voi face: îmi voi strica grânarele şi voi zidi altele mai mari; acolo voi strânge toate roadele şi toate bunătăţile mele;

And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.

és ezt mondom a lelkemnek: „Én lelkem, sok javad van sok esztendőre eltéve. Helyezd magadat kényelembe, egyél, igyál, vigadozzál!”

És [ezt] mondom az én lelkemnek: Én lelkem, sok javaid vannak sok esztendőre eltéve; tedd magadat kényelembe, egyél, igyál, gyönyörködjél!

And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

şi voi zice sufletului meu: „Suflete, ai multe bunătăţi strânse pentru mulţi ani; odihneşte-te, mănâncă, bea şi înveseleşte-te!”

And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.”’

Isten pedig azt mondta neki: „Bolond, ma éjjel elkérik tőled a lelkedet, amiket azért magadnak készítettél, kiéi lesznek?”

Monda pedig néki az Isten: Bolond, ez éjjel elkérik a te lelkedet te tőled; a miket pedig készítettél, kiéi lesznek?

But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

Dar Dumnezeu i-a zis: „Nebunule! Chiar în noaptea aceasta ţi se va cere înapoi sufletul; şi lucrurile pe care le-ai pregătit ale cui vor fi?”

But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’

Így jár az, aki kincset gyűjt magának, és nem Istenben gazdag.

Így van dolga annak, a ki kincset takar magának, és nem az Istenben gazdag.

So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

Tot aşa este şi cu cel ce îşi adună comori pentru el, şi nu se îmbogăţeşte faţă de Dumnezeu.”

So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”

Majd azt mondta tanítványainak: Ezért mondom nektek, ne aggodalmaskodjatok az életetek felől, hogy mit egyetek, sem a testetek felől, hogy mibe öltözködjetek.

Monda pedig az ő tanítványainak: Annakokáért mondom néktek, ne aggodalmaskodjatok a a ti éltetek felől, mit egyetek; se a ti testetek felől, mibe öltözködjetek.

And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.

Isus a zis apoi ucenicilor Săi: „De aceea vă spun: nu vă îngrijoraţi cu privire la viaţa voastră, gândindu-vă ce veţi mânca, nici cu privire la trupul vostru, gândindu-vă cu ce vă veţi îmbrăca.

And he said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on.

Az élet több, mint az eledel, és a test több, mint az öltözet.

Az élet több, hogynem az eledel, és a test, hogynem az öltözet.

The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.

Viaţa este mai mult decât hrana, şi trupul mai mult decât îmbrăcămintea.

For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.

Nézzétek meg a hollókat, hogy nem vetnek, nem is aratnak, nincs kamrájuk, sem csűrük, és Isten táplálja őket. Mennyivel drágábbak vagytok ti a madaraknál!

Tekintsétek meg a hollókat, hogy nem vetnek, sem nem aratnak; kiknek nincs tárházuk, sem csűrük; és az Isten eltartja őket: mennyivel drágábbak vagytok ti a madaraknál?

Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?

Uitaţi-vă cu băgare de seamă la corbi: ei nu seamănă, nici nu seceră, n-au nici cămară, nici grânar; şi totuşi Dumnezeu îi hrăneşte. Cu cât mai de preţ sunteţi voi decât păsările!

Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!

Ki az közületek, aki aggodalmaskodásával megnövelheti termetét egy arasszal?

Kicsoda pedig az közületek, a ki aggodalmaskodásával megnövelheti termetét egy arasszal?

And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?

Şi apoi, cine dintre voi, chiar îngrijorându-se, poate să adauge un cot la lungimea vieţii lui?

And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?

Ha azért a legcsekélyebbet sem tehetitek meg, mit aggodalmaskodtok a többi felől?

Annakokáért ha a mi legkisebb dolog, azt sem tehetitek, mit aggodalmaskodtok a többi felől?

If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?

Deci, dacă nu puteţi face nici cel mai mic lucru, pentru ce vă mai îngrijoraţi de celelalte?

If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest?

Nézzétek meg a liliomokat, hogyan növekednek: Nem fáradoznak és nem fonnak, de mondom nektek, hogy Salamon minden dicsőségében sem öltözött úgy, mint ezek közül egy.

Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Ha pedig a mező füvét, amely ma van, és holnap kemencébe vetik, ennyire fölruházta Isten, mennyivel inkább titeket, ti kicsinyhitűek!

Ha pedig a füvet, mely ma a mezőn van, és holnap kemenczébe vettetik, így ruházza az Isten; mennyivel inkább titeket, ti kicsinyhitűek!

If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Dacă astfel îmbracă Dumnezeu iarba, care astăzi este pe câmp, iar mâine va fi aruncată în cuptor, cu cât mai mult vă va îmbrăca El pe voi, puţin credincioşilor?

But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!

Ti se kérdezzétek, mit egyetek vagy mit igyatok, és ne nyugtalankodjatok.

Ti se kérdezzétek, mit egyetek vagy mit igyatok; és ne kételkedjetek.

And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.

Să nu căutaţi ce veţi mânca sau ce veţi bea şi nu vă frământaţi mintea.

And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried.

Mert mindezeket a világ pogányai kérdezik, a ti Atyátok pedig tudja, hogy szükségetek van ezekre.

For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them.

Ti az Isten országát keressétek, és ezek mind megadatnak nektek!

Csak keressétek az Isten országát, és ezek mind megadatnak néktek.

But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Căutaţi mai întâi Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu, şi toate aceste lucruri vi se vor da pe deasupra.

Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you.

Ne félj, te kicsiny nyáj, mert tetszett a ti Atyátoknak, hogy nektek adja az országot.

Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

“Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Adjátok el, amitek van, és osszátok szét alamizsnaként! Szerezzetek magatoknak el nem avuló erszényeket és elfogyhatatlan kincseket a mennyekben, ahol a tolvaj nem fér hozzá, sem a moly meg nem emészti!

Adjátok el a mitek van, és adjatok alamizsnát; szerezzetek magatoknak oly erszényeket, melyek meg nem avúlnak, elfogyhatatlan kincset a mennyországban, a hol a tolvaj hozzá nem fér, sem a moly meg nem emészti.

Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

Vindeţi ce aveţi şi daţi milostenie. Faceţi-vă rost de pungi care nu se învechesc, o comoară nesecată în ceruri, unde nu se apropie hoţul şi unde nu roade molia.

Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Legyen derekatok felövezve és lámpásotok meggyújtva,

Legyenek a ti derekaitok felövezve, és szövétnekeitek meggyújtva;

Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;

Mijlocul să vă fie încins, şi făcliile aprinse.

“Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning,

Boldogok azok a szolgák, akiket az úr, amikor megjön, ébren talál. Bizony mondom nektek, hogy felövezve magát asztalhoz ülteti őket, hozzájuk megy, és felszolgál nekik.

Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will dress himself for service and have them recline at table, and he will come and serve them.

És ha a második vagy harmadik őrváltáskor jön is meg, és úgy találja őket, boldogok azok a szolgák!

And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

Fie că vine la a doua strajă din noapte, fie că vine la a treia strajă, ferice de robii aceia, dacă-i va găsi veghind!

If he comes in the second watch, or in the third, and finds them awake, blessed are those servants!

Azt pedig jegyezzétek meg, hogy ha tudná a ház ura, melyik órában jön a tolvaj, vigyázna, és nem engedné, hogy betörjön a házába.

Ezt pedig jegyezzétek meg, hogy ha tudná a ház gazdája, mely órában jő el a tolvaj, vigyázna, és nem engedné, hogy az ő házába törjön.

And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.

Să ştiţi bine că, dacă ar şti stăpânul casei la ce ceas va veni hoţul, ar veghea şi n-ar lăsa să-i spargă casa.

But know this, that if the master of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have left his house to be broken into.

Ti azért legyetek készek, mert amely órában nem gondolnátok, akkor jön el az Emberfia.

Ti is azért legyetek készek: mert a mely órában nem gondolnátok, abban jő el az embernek Fia.

Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

Şi voi, dar, fiţi gata, căci Fiul omului va veni în ceasul în care nu vă gândiţi.”

You also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

Péter pedig megkérdezte: Uram, nekünk mondod ezt a példázatot vagy mindenkinek?

Monda pedig néki Péter: Uram, nékünk mondod-é ezt a példázatot, vagy mindenkinek is?

Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?

„Doamne”, I-a zis Petru, „pentru noi spui pilda aceasta sau pentru toţi?”

Peter said, “Lord, are you telling this parable for us or for all?”

Az Úr így válaszolt: Kicsoda hát a hű és a bölcs sáfár, akit az úr gondviselővé tett a házanépe fölött, hogy idejében kiadja nekik élelmüket?

Monda pedig az Úr: Kicsoda hát a hű és bölcs sáfár, kit az úr gondviselővé tőn az ő háza népén, hogy adja ki nékik élelmüket a maga idejében?

And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?

Şi Domnul a zis: „Cine este ispravnicul credincios şi înţelept pe care-l va pune stăpânul său peste slugile sale ca să le dea partea lor de hrană la vremea potrivită?

And the Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom his master will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the proper time?

Boldog az a szolga, akit megérkezésekor ura ilyen munkában talál!

Boldog az a szolga, a kit az ő ura, mikor haza jő, ilyen munkában talál!

Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

Ferice de robul acela pe care stăpânul, la venirea lui, îl va găsi făcând aşa!

Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes.

Bizony mondom nektek, hogy egész vagyona felett gondviselővé teszi.

Bizony mondom néktek, hogy minden jószága felett gondviselővé teszi őt.

Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.

Adevărat vă spun că îl va pune peste toată avuţia sa.

Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions.

Ha pedig az a szolga így szólna a szívében: „Halogatja még az uram a hazajövetelt”, és verné a szolgákat és szolgálóleányokat, és kezdene enni és inni és részegeskedni:

Ha pedig az a szolga így szólna az ő szívében: Halogatja még az én uram a hazajövetelt; és kezdené verni a szolgákat és szolgálóleányokat, és enni és inni és részegeskedni:

But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;

Dar dacă robul acela zice în inima lui: „Stăpânul meu zăboveşte să vină”; dacă va începe să bată pe slugi şi pe slujnice, să mănânce, să bea şi să se îmbete,

But if that servant says to himself, ‘My master is delayed in coming,’ and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and get drunk,

megjön annak a szolgának az ura, amely napon nem várja, és amely órában nem gondolja, és kettévágatja őt, és a hitetlenek sorsára juttatja.

Megjő annak a szolgának az ura, a mely napon nem várja és a mely órában nem gondolja, és kettévágatja őt, és a hitetlenek sorsára juttatja.

The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

stăpânul robului aceluia va veni în ziua în care el nu se aşteaptă şi în ceasul în care nu ştie şi-l va tăia în bucăţi; şi soarta lui va fi soarta celor necredincioşi în lucrul încredinţat lor.

the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know, and will cut him in pieces and put him with the unfaithful.

Azt a szolgát, aki ismerte urának akaratát, és nem végezte el, sem annak akarata szerint nem cselekedett, sokkal büntetik meg,

És a mely szolga tudta az ő urának akaratát, és nem végezte el, sem annak akarata szerint nem cselekedett, sokkal büntettetik meg;

And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

Robul acela, care a ştiut voia stăpânului său, şi nu s-a pregătit deloc şi n-a lucrat după voia lui, va fi bătut cu multe lovituri.

And that servant who knew his master’s will but did not get ready or act according to his will, will receive a severe beating.

azt pedig, aki nem tudta, és büntetésre méltó dolgokat cselekedett, kevesebbel büntetik meg. Akinek sokat adtak, attól sokat követelnek, és akire sokat bíztak, attól többet várnak el.

A ki pedig nem tudta, és büntetésre méltó dolgokat cselekedett, kevesebbel büntettetik. És valakinek sokat adtak, sokat követelnek tőle; és a kire sokat bíztak, többet kívánnak tőle.

But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

Dar cine n-a ştiut-o, şi a făcut lucruri vrednice de lovituri, va fi bătut cu puţine lovituri. Cui i s-a dat mult, i se va cere mult; şi cui i s-a încredinţat mult, i se va cere mai mult.

But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.

Azért jöttem, hogy tüzet bocsássak e földre, és mennyire szeretném, ha már lángolna!

Azért jöttem, hogy e világra tüzet bocsássak: és mit akarok, ha [az] immár meggerjedett?

I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I if it be already kindled?

Eu am venit să arunc un foc pe pământ. Şi ce vreau decât să fie aprins chiar acum!

“I came to cast fire on the earth, and would that it were already kindled!

De keresztséggel kell még megkereszteltetnem, és feszülten várok, amíg az be nem teljesedik.

De keresztséggel kell nékem megkereszteltetnem; és mely igen szorongattatom, míglen [az] elvégeztetik.

But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!

Am un botez cu care trebuie să fiu botezat şi cât de mult doresc să se îndeplinească!

I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how great is my distress until it is accomplished!

Azt gondoljátok, azért jöttem, hogy békességet hozzak a földre? Nem, mondom nektek, sokkal inkább meghasonlást.

Gondoljátok-é, hogy azért jöttem, hogy békességet adjak e földön? Nem, mondom néktek; sőt inkább meghasonlást.

Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

Credeţi că am venit să aduc pace pe pământ? Eu vă spun: nu; ci mai degrabă dezbinare.

Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division.

For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

Căci, de acum înainte, din cinci care vor fi într-o casă, trei vor fi dezbinaţi împotriva a doi, şi doi împotriva a trei.

For from now on in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three.

Meghasonlik az apa a fiával, a fiú az apjával, az anya a leányával és a leány az anyjával, az anyós a menyével és a meny az anyósával.

Meghasonlik az atya a fiú ellen, és a fiú az atya ellen; és az anya a leány ellen, és a leány az anya ellen; napa a menye ellen, és a menye a napa ellen.

The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

Tatăl va fi dezbinat împotriva fiului, şi fiul împotriva tatălui; mama împotriva fiicei, şi fiica împotriva mamei; soacra împotriva nurorii, şi nora împotriva soacrei.”

They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”

Majd így szólt a sokasághoz: Amikor látjátok, hogy napnyugatról felhő támad, mindjárt azt mondjátok, hogy esni fog, és úgy is lesz.

Monda pedig a sokaságnak is: Mikor látjátok, hogy napnyugotról felhő támad, azonnal [ezt] mondjátok: Záporeső jő; és úgy lesz.

And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.

El a mai zis noroadelor: „Când vedeţi un nor ridicându-se la apus, îndată ziceţi: „Vine ploaia.” Şi aşa se întâmplă.

He also said to the crowds, “When you see a cloud rising in the west, you say at once, ‘A shower is coming.’ And so it happens.

Amikor halljátok fújni a déli szelet, azt mondjátok, hogy hőség jön, és úgy is lesz.

És mikor [halljátok] fúni a déli szelet, [ezt] mondjátok: Hőség lesz; és [úgy] lesz.

And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.

Şi când vedeţi suflând vântul de la miazăzi, ziceţi: „Are să fie zăduf.” Şi aşa se întâmplă.

And when you see the south wind blowing, you say, ‘There will be scorching heat,’ and it happens.

Képmutatók! Az ég és a föld jelenségeit meg tudjátok ítélni, erről az időről pedig mi dolog, hogy nem tudtok ítéletet mondani?

Képmutatók, az égnek és a földnek ábrázatáról tudtok ítéletet tenni; erről az időről pedig mi dolog, hogy nem tudtok ítéletet tenni?

Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

Făţarnicilor, faţa pământului şi a cerului ştiţi s-o deosebiţi; vremea aceasta cum de n-o deosebiţi?

You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of earth and sky, but why do you not know how to interpret the present time?

Magatoktól miért nem tudjátok megítélni, hogy mi az igaz?

És mi dolog, hogy ti magatoktól is meg nem ítélitek, mi az igaz?

Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?

Şi pentru ce nu judecaţi şi voi singuri ce este drept?

“And why do you not judge for yourselves what is right?

Amikor pedig ellenségeddel a hatóság elé mégy, még az úton igyekezz megszabadulni tőle, hogy ne vigyen a bíró elé, és a bíró át ne adjon a börtönőrnek, és a börtönőr a tömlöcbe ne vessen téged.

Mikor pedig a te ellenségeddel a fejedelem elé mégy, igyekezzél az úton megmenekedni tőle, hogy téged ne vonjon a bíró elé, és a bíró át ne adjon téged a poroszlónak és a poroszló a tömlöczbe ne vessen téged.

When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.

Când te duci cu pârâşul tău înaintea judecătorului, pe drum caută să scapi de el; ca nu cumva să te târască înaintea judecătorului, judecătorul să te dea pe mâna temnicerului, şi temnicerul să te arunce în temniţă.

As you go with your accuser before the magistrate, make an effort to settle with him on the way, lest he drag you to the judge, and the judge hand you over to the officer, and the officer put you in prison.

Mondom neked, hogy ki nem jössz onnan, míg az utolsó fillért is meg nem adod.

Mondom néked, hogy nem jősz ki onnét, mígnem megfizetsz mind az utolsó fillérig.

I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.

Îţi spun că nu vei ieşi de acolo până nu vei plăti şi cel mai de pe urmă bănuţ.”

I tell you, you will never get out until you have paid the very last penny.”
