Amikor a farizeusok egyik vezetőjének házához ment szombaton ebédelni, azok figyelték őt.

És lőn mikor a főfarizeusok közül egynek házához ment szombatnapon kenyeret enni, azok leselkednek vala ő utána.

And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, that they watched him.

Într-o zi de Sabat, Isus a intrat în casa unuia din fruntaşii fariseilor, ca să prânzească. Fariseii Îl pândeau de aproape.

One Sabbath, when he went to dine at the house of a ruler of the Pharisees, they were watching him carefully.

És íme, egy vízkóros ember volt előtte.

És ímé egy vízkóros ember vala ő előtte.

And, behold, there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy.

Şi înaintea Lui era un om bolnav de dropică.

And behold, there was a man before him who had dropsy.

Jézus pedig megkérdezte a törvénytudókat és a farizeusokat: Szabad-e szombaton gyógyítani, vagy nem?

És felelvén Jézus, szóla a törvénytudóknak és a farizeusoknak, mondván: Szabad-é szombat[nap]on gyógyítani?

And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?

Isus a luat cuvântul şi a zis învăţătorilor Legii şi fariseilor: „Oare este îngăduit a vindeca în ziua Sabatului sau nu?”

And Jesus responded to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath, or not?”

Azok pedig hallgattak. Erre ő megérintette azt, meggyógyította és elbocsátotta.

Azok pedig hallgatának. És ő megfogván azt, meggyógyítá és elbocsátá.

And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go;

Ei tăceau. Atunci Isus a luat de mână pe omul acela, l-a vindecat şi i-a dat drumul.

But they remained silent. Then he took him and healed him and sent him away.

Majd hozzájuk fordulva azt mondta: Ha közületek valakinek a fia vagy ökre szombaton kútba esik, nem húzza ki azonnal?

És felelvén nékik, monda: Ki az közületek, a kinek szamara vagy ökre a kútba esik, és nem vonja ki azt azonnal szombatnapon?

And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day?

Pe urmă le-a zis: „Cine dintre voi, dacă-i cade copilul sau boul în fântână, nu-l va scoate îndată afară, în ziua Sabatului?”

And he said to them, “Which of you, having a son or an ox that has fallen into a well on a Sabbath day, will not immediately pull him out?”

Erre nem tudtak mit felelni.

És nem felelhetnek vala ő ellene semmit ezekre.

And they could not answer him again to these things.

Şi n-au putut să-I răspundă nimic la aceste vorbe.

And they could not reply to these things.

Amikor észrevette, hogyan válogatják a főhelyeket, egy példázatot mondott a meghívottaknak.

És egy példázatot monda a hivatalosoknak, mikor észre vevé, mimódon válogatják a fő helyeket; mondván nékik:

And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them,

Apoi, când a văzut că cei poftiţi la masă alegeau locurile dintâi, le-a spus o pildă. Şi le-a zis:

Now he told a parable to those who were invited, when he noticed how they chose the places of honor, saying to them,

Amikor valaki lakodalomba hív, ne ülj a főhelyre, mert netalán náladnál nagyobb tiszteletben álló embert is meghívott,

Mikor valaki lakodalomba hív, ne ülj a fő helyre; mert netalán náladnál nagyobb tiszteletben álló embert is hivott meg az,

When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him;

„Când eşti poftit de cineva la nuntă, să nu te aşezi la masă în locul dintâi; ca nu cumva, printre cei poftiţi de el, să fie altul mai cu vază decât tine,

“When you are invited by someone to a wedding feast, do not sit down in a place of honor, lest someone more distinguished than you be invited by him,

és odajön az, aki mind téged, mind azt meghívta, és ezt mondja majd neked: Engedd át ennek a helyet! És akkor szégyenkezve az utolsó helyre fogsz ülni.

És eljövén az, a ki mind téged, mind azt meghívta, ezt mondja majd néked: Engedd ennek a helyet! És akkor szégyennel az utolsó helyre fogsz ülni.

And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room.

şi cel ce te-a poftit şi pe tine şi pe el să vină să-ţi zică: „Dă locul tău omului acestuia.” Atunci, cu ruşine, va trebui să iei locul de pe urmă.

and he who invited you both will come and say to you, ‘Give your place to this person,’ and then you will begin with shame to take the lowest place.

Hanem amikor meghívnak, menj és ülj le az utolsó helyre, hogy amikor odajön az, aki téged meghívott, ezt mondja neked: Barátom, ülj feljebb! Akkor megtiszteltetésben lesz részed minden asztaltársad előtt, akik együtt telepedtek asztalhoz veled.

Hanem mikor meghívnak, menj el és ülj le az utolsó helyre; hogy mikor eljő az, a ki téged meghívott, ezt mondja néked: Barátom ülj feljebb! Akkor néked dicsőséged lesz azok előtt, a kik veled együtt ülnek.

But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.

Ci, când eşti poftit, du-te şi aşază-te în locul cel mai de pe urmă; pentru ca atunci când va veni cel ce te-a poftit să-ţi zică: „Prietene, mută-te mai sus.” Lucrul acesta îţi va face cinste înaintea tuturor celor ce vor fi la masă împreună cu tine.

But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when your host comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, move up higher.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at table with you.

Mert mindenki, aki magát felmagasztalja, megaláztatik, és aki magát megalázza, felmagasztaltatik.

Mert mindenki, a ki magát felmagasztalja, megaláztatik; és a ki magát megalázza, felmagasztaltatik.

For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Căci oricine se înalţă va fi smerit; şi cine se smereşte va fi înălţat.”

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Annak, aki őt meghívta, azt mondta: Amikor ebédet vagy vacsorát adsz, ne hívd meg arra a barátaidat, se a testvéreidet, se a rokonaidat, se a gazdag szomszédaidat, nehogy ők is meghívjanak, és viszonozzák neked.

Monda pedig annak is, a ki őt meghívta: Mikor ebédet vagy vacsorát készítesz, ne hívd barátaidat, se testvéreidet, se rokonaidat, se gazdag szomszédaidat; nehogy viszont ők is meghívjanak téged, és visszafizessék néked.

Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee.

A zis şi celui ce-L poftise: „Când dai un prânz sau o cină, să nu chemi pe prietenii tăi, nici pe fraţii tăi, nici pe neamurile tale, nici pe vecinii bogaţi, ca nu cumva să te cheme şi ei la rândul lor pe tine, şi să iei astfel o răsplată pentru ce ai făcut.

He said also to the man who had invited him, “When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid.

Hanem amikor vendégséget szerzel, hívd a szegényeket, csonkabonkákat, sántákat, vakokat,

Hanem mikor lakomát készítesz, hívd a szegényeket, csonkabonkákat, sántákat, vakokat:

But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:

Ci, când dai o masă, cheamă pe săraci, pe schilozi, pe şchiopi, pe orbi.

But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind,

és boldog leszel, mivel nem fizethetik vissza neked, de viszonzásban részesülsz majd az igazak feltámadásakor.

És boldog leszel; mivelhogy nem fizethetik vissza néked; mert majd visszafizettetik néked az igazak feltámadásakor.

And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.

Şi va fi ferice de tine, pentru că ei n-au cu ce să-ţi răsplătească; dar ţi se va răsplăti la învierea celor neprihăniţi.”

and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”

Amikor meghallotta ezt az egyik asztaltársa, azt mondta neki: Boldog az, aki kenyeret eszik az Isten országában.

Hallván pedig ezeket egy azok közül, a kik [ő vele] együtt ülnek vala, monda néki: Boldog az, a ki eszik kenyeret az Isten országában.

And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.

Unul din cei ce şedeau la masă cu El, când a auzit aceste vorbe, I-a zis: „Ferice de acela care va prânzi în Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu!”

When one of those who reclined at table with him heard these things, he said to him, “Blessed is everyone who will eat bread in the kingdom of God!”

Ő pedig így válaszolt: Egy ember nagy vacsorát készített, és sokakat meghívott,

Ő pedig monda annak: Egy ember készíte nagy vacsorát, és sokakat meghíva;

Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:

Şi Isus i-a răspuns: „Un om a dat o cină mare şi a poftit pe mulţi.

But he said to him, “A man once gave a great banquet and invited many.

és elküldte szolgáját a vacsora idején, hogy mondja meg a meghívottaknak: Gyertek, mert már minden kész!

És elküldé szolgáját a vacsora idején, hogy megmondja a hivatalosoknak: Jertek el, mert immár minden kész!

And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.

La ceasul cinei, a trimis pe robul său să spună celor poftiţi: „Veniţi, căci iată că toate sunt gata.”

And at the time for the banquet he sent his servant to say to those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’

De azok sorra mentegetőzni kezdtek. Az első azt mondta neki: Szántóföldet vettem, és ki kell mennem, hogy megnézzem, kérlek, ments ki engem!

És mindnyájan egyenlőképen kezdék magokat mentegetni. Az első monda néki: Szántóföldet vettem, és ki kell mennem, hogy azt meglássam; kérlek téged, ments ki engem!

And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.

Dar toţi, parcă fuseseră vorbiţi, au început să se dezvinovăţească. Cel dintâi i-a zis: „Am cumpărat un ogor şi trebuie să mă duc să-l văd; rogu-te să mă ierţi.”

But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it. Please have me excused.’

A másik azt mondta: Öt iga ökröt vettem, és elmegyek, hogy azokat kipróbáljam, kérlek, ments ki engem!

És másik monda: Öt iga ökröt vettem, és elmegyek, hogy azokat megpróbáljam; kérlek téged, ments ki engem!

And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.

Un altul a zis: „Am cumpărat cinci perechi de boi şi mă duc să-i încerc: iartă-mă, te rog.”

And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to examine them. Please have me excused.’

Ismét egy másik pedig azt mondta: Feleséget vettem, és azért nem mehetek.

A másik pedig monda: Feleséget vettem, és azért nem mehetek.

And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.

Un altul a zis: „Tocmai acum m-am însurat şi de aceea nu pot veni.”

And another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.’

Viszatért a szolga, és jelentette ezeket urának. Akkor megharagudott a ház ura, és azt mondta szolgájának: Menj ki hamar a város tereire és utcáira, és a szegényeket, csonkabonkákat, vakokat és sántákat hozd ide!

Mikor azért az a szolga haza ment, megmondá ezeket az ő urának. Akkor megharagudván a gazda, monda az ő szolgájának: Eredj hamar a város utczáira és szorosaira, és a szegényeket, csonkabonkákat, sántákat és vakokat hozd be ide.

So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.

Când s-a întors robul, a spus stăpânului său aceste lucruri. Atunci stăpânul casei s-a mâniat şi a zis robului său: „Du-te degrabă în pieţele şi uliţele cetăţii şi adu aici pe cei săraci, ciungi, orbi şi şchiopi.”

So the servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house became angry and said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly to the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor and crippled and blind and lame.’

És a szolga azt mondta: Uram, meglett, amint megparancsoltad, és mégis van hely.

És monda a szolga: Uram, meglett a mint parancsolád, és mégis van hely.

And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.

La urmă, robul a zis: „Stăpâne, s-a făcut cum ai poruncit, şi tot mai este loc.”

And the servant said, ‘Sir, what you commanded has been done, and still there is room.’

Akkor azt mondta az úr a szolgának: Menj ki az utakra és a sövényekhez, és kényszeríts bejönni mindenkit, hogy megteljék az én házam.

Akkor monda az úr a szolgának: Eredj el az utakra és a sövényekhez, és kényszeríts bejőni [mindenkit], hogy megteljék az én házam.

And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

Şi stăpânul a zis robului: „Ieşi la drumuri şi la garduri, şi pe cei ce-i vei găsi, sileşte-i să intre, ca să mi se umple casa.

And the master said to the servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedges and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled.

Mert mondom nektek, hogy senki a meghívottak közül meg nem kóstolja az én vacsorámat.

Mert mondom néktek, hogy senki azok közül a hivatalos férfiak közül meg nem kóstolja az én vacsorámat.

For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.

Căci vă spun că niciunul din cei poftiţi nu va gusta din cina mea.”

For I tell you, none of those men who were invited shall taste my banquet.’”

Nagy sokaság ment vele, és hozzájuk fordulva így szólt:

Megy vala pedig ő vele nagy sokaság; és megfordulván, monda azoknak:

And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,

Împreună cu Isus mergeau multe noroade. El S-a întors şi le-a zis:

Now great crowds accompanied him, and he turned and said to them,

Ha valaki hozzám jön, és meg nem gyűlöli apját és anyját, feleségét és gyermekeit, fiútestvéreit és nőtestvéreit, sőt még a saját lelkét is, nem lehet a tanítványom.

Ha valaki én hozzám jő, és meg nem gyűlöli az ő atyját és anyját, feleségét és gyermekeit, fitestvéreit és nőtestvéreit, sőt még a maga lelkét is, nem lehet az én tanítványom.

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

„Dacă vine cineva la Mine, şi nu urăşte pe tatăl său, pe mama sa, pe nevasta sa, pe copiii săi, pe fraţii săi, pe surorile sale, ba chiar însăşi viaţa sa, nu poate fi ucenicul Meu.

“If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.

Aki nem hordozza a maga keresztjét, és nem követ engem, nem lehet a tanítványom.

És valaki nem hordozza az ő keresztjét, és én utánam jő, nem lehet az én tanítványom.

And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

Şi oricine nu-şi poartă crucea şi nu vine după Mine, nu poate fi ucenicul Meu.

Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.

Mert ki az közületek, aki ha tornyot akar építeni, nem ül le előbb, hogy kiszámítsa a költségeket, hogy lesz-e elég pénze arra, hogy befejezze?

Mert ha közületek valaki tornyot akar építeni, nemde először leülvén felszámítja a költséget, ha van-é mivel elvégezze?

For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

Căci, cine dintre voi, dacă vrea să zidească un turn, nu stă mai întâi să-şi facă socoteala cheltuielilor, ca să vadă dacă are cu ce să-l sfârşească?

For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?

Nehogy miután lefektette az alapokat, már ne tudja befejezni, és csúfolni kezdje mindenki, aki látja,

Nehogy minekutána fundamentomot vetett, és elvégezni nem bírja, csúfolni kezdje őt mindenki, a ki látja,

Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,

Pentru ca nu cumva, după ce i-a pus temelia, să nu-l poată sfârşi, şi toţi cei ce-l vor vedea să înceapă să râdă de el

Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him,

és azt mondja: Ez az ember elkezdte az építést, de nem tudta véghezvinni!

Ezt mondván: Ez az ember elkezdette az építést, és nem bírta véghez vinni!

Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.

şi să zică: „Omul acesta a început să zidească, şi n-a putut isprăvi.”

saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’

Vagy ha az egyik király háborúba megy, hogy egy másik királlyal megütközzék, nemde leül először, és tanácsot tart, hogy a maga tízezer emberével szembeszállhat-e azzal, aki ellene húszezerrel jön?

Vagy valamely király, mikor háborúba megy, hogy egy másik királlyal megütközzék, nemde leülvén először tanácskozik, hogy tízezerrel szembeszállhat-é azzal, a ki ő ellene húszezerrel jött?

Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?

Sau care împărat, când merge să se bată în război cu un alt împărat, nu stă mai întâi să se sfătuiască dacă va putea merge cu zece mii de oameni înaintea celui ce vine împotriva lui cu douăzeci de mii?

Or what king, going out to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and deliberate whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?

Mert különben amikor még az távol van, követséget küld, hogy megkérdezze a békefeltételeket.

Mert különben még mikor amaz távol van, követséget küldvén, megkérdezi a békefeltételeket.

Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.

Altfel, pe când celălalt împărat este încă departe, îi trimite o solie să ceară pace.

And if not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace.

Ennek megfelelően aki közületek búcsút nem mond minden vagyonának, nem lehet az én tanítványom.

Ezenképen azért valaki közületek búcsút nem vesz minden javaitól, nem lehet az én tanítványom.

So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

Tot aşa, oricine dintre voi, care nu se leapădă de tot ce are, nu poate fi ucenicul Meu.

So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.

Jó a só, de ha a só ízét veszti, mivel sózzák meg?

Jó a só: de ha a só megízetlenül, mivel sózzák meg?

Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?

Sarea este bună; dar dacă sarea îşi pierde gustul ei de sare, prin ce i se va da înapoi gustul acesta?

“Salt is good, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored?

Sem a földre, sem trágyának nem alkalmas, kidobják. Akinek van füle a hallásra, hallja meg!

Sem a földre, sem a trágyára nem alkalmas: kivetik azt. A kinek van füle a hallásra, hallja.

It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Atunci nu mai este bună nici pentru pământ, nici pentru gunoi, ci este aruncată afară. Cine are urechi de auzit să audă.”

It is of no use either for the soil or for the manure pile. It is thrown away. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
