És történt egy napon, hogy Jónátán, Saul fia azt mondta fegyverhordozó legényének: Gyere, menjünk át a filiszteusok előőrséhez, amely odaát van. Apjának azonban nem szólt róla.

Now it came to pass upon a day, that Jonathan the son of Saul said unto the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over to the Philistines' garrison, that is on the other side. But he told not his father.

Într-o zi, Ionatan, fiul lui Saul, a zis tânărului care-i purta armele: „Vino, şi să pătrundem până la straja filistenilor, care este dincolo de locul acesta.” Şi n-a spus nimic tatălui său.

One day Jonathan the son of Saul said to the young man who carried his armor, “Come, let us go over to the Philistine garrison on the other side.” But he did not tell his father.

And Saul tarried in the uttermost part of Gibeah under a pomegranate tree which is in Migron: and the people that were with him were about six hundred men;

Saul was staying in the outskirts of Gibeah in the pomegranate cave at Migron. The people who were with him were about six hundred men,

And Ahiah, the son of Ahitub, Ichabod's brother, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eli, the LORD's priest in Shiloh, wearing an ephod. And the people knew not that Jonathan was gone.

including Ahijah the son of Ahitub, Ichabod’s brother, son of Phinehas, son of Eli, the priest of the LORD in Shiloh, wearing an ephod. And the people did not know that Jonathan had gone.

And between the passages, by which Jonathan sought to go over unto the Philistines' garrison, there was a sharp rock on the one side, and a sharp rock on the other side: and the name of the one was Bozez, and the name of the other Seneh.

The one crag rose on the north in front of Michmash, and the other on the south in front of Geba.

Jónátán azt mondta fegyverhordozójának: Gyere, menjünk át ezeknek a körülmetéletleneknek az előőrséhez, talán tenni fog valamit értünk az ÚR, mert az ÚR előtt nincs akadály, hogy sok vagy kevés ember által szerezzen szabadulást.

És monda Jonathán a szolgának, a ki az ő fegyverét hordozá: Jer, menjünk át ezeknek a körülmetéletleneknek előőrséhez, talán tenni fog az Úr érettünk [valamit,] mert az Úr előtt nincs akadály, hogy sok vagy pedig kevés által szerezzen szabadulást.

And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will work for us: for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few.

Ionatan a zis tânărului care-i purta armele: „Vino, şi să pătrundem până la straja acestor netăiaţi împrejur. Poate că Domnul va lucra pentru noi, căci nimic nu împiedică pe Domnul să dea izbăvire printr-un mic număr ca şi printr-un mare număr.”

Jonathan said to the young man who carried his armor, “Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised. It may be that the LORD will work for us, for nothing can hinder the LORD from saving by many or by few.”

Fegyverhordozója így felelt neki: Tégy mindent a szíved szerint. Indulj el, íme, én veled leszek kívánságod szerint.

And his armourbearer said unto him, Do all that is in thine heart: turn thee; behold, I am with thee according to thy heart.

Cel ce-i ducea armele i-a răspuns: „Fă tot ce ai în inimă, n-asculta decât de simţământul tău şi iată-mă cu tine, gata să te urmez oriunde.”

And his armor-bearer said to him, “Do all that is in your heart. Do as you wish. Behold, I am with you heart and soul.”

Jónátán pedig azt mondta: Rajta, menjünk föl ezekhez az emberekhez, és mutassuk meg nekik magunkat.

Then said Jonathan, Behold, we will pass over unto these men, and we will discover ourselves unto them.

Then Jonathan said, “Behold, we will cross over to the men, and we will show ourselves to them.

Ha azt mondják nekünk: „Várjatok, míg odaérkezünk hozzátok”, akkor álljunk meg a helyünkön, és ne menjünk föl hozzájuk.

If they say thus unto us, Tarry until we come to you; then we will stand still in our place, and will not go up unto them.

Dacă ne vor zice: „Opriţi-vă până vom veni noi la voi!” vom rămâne pe loc şi nu ne vom sui la ei.

If they say to us, ‘Wait until we come to you,’ then we will stand still in our place, and we will not go up to them.

Ha azonban azt mondják: „Gyertek csak föl mihozzánk”, akkor menjünk föl, mert a kezünkbe adta őket az ÚR. Ez legyen számunkra a jel.

Ha pedig azt mondják: Jertek fel mihozzánk, akkor menjünk fel, mert az Úr kezünkbe adta őket. És ez legyen nékünk a jel.

But if they say thus, Come up unto us; then we will go up: for the LORD hath delivered them into our hand: and this shall be a sign unto us.

Dar dacă vor zice: „Suiţi-vă la noi!” ne vom sui, căci Domnul îi dă în mâinile noastre. Acesta să ne fie semnul.”

But if they say, ‘Come up to us,’ then we will go up, for the LORD has given them into our hand. And this shall be the sign to us.”

Mikor pedig megmutatták magukat mindketten a filiszteusok előőrsének, azt mondták a filiszteusok: Nézd csak, a héberek előjöttek a barlangokból, ahova elrejtőztek.

And both of them discovered themselves unto the garrison of the Philistines: and the Philistines said, Behold, the Hebrews come forth out of the holes where they had hid themselves.

S-au arătat amândoi străjii filistenilor, şi filistenii au zis: „Iată că evreii ies din găurile în care s-au ascuns.”

So both of them showed themselves to the garrison of the Philistines. And the Philistines said, “Look, Hebrews are coming out of the holes where they have hidden themselves.”

És néhányan az előőrs tagjai közül azt mondták Jónátánnak és a fegyverhordozójának: Gyertek föl hozzánk, mondunk nektek valamit! Ekkor azt mondta Jónátán a fegyverhordozójának: Gyere föl utánam, mert az ÚR Izráel kezébe adta őket!

És szólának némelyek az előőrs emberei közül Jonathánnak és az ő fegyverhordozójának, és mondák: Jertek fel mi hozzánk, és valamit mondunk néktek. Akkor monda Jonathán az ő fegyverhordozójának: Jőjj fel utánam, mert az Úr Izráel kezébe adta őket.

And the men of the garrison answered Jonathan and his armourbearer, and said, Come up to us, and we will shew you a thing. And Jonathan said unto his armourbearer, Come up after me: for the LORD hath delivered them into the hand of Israel.

Şi oamenii care erau de strajă au vorbit astfel lui Ionatan şi celui ce-i ducea armele: „Suiţi-vă la noi, ca să vă arătăm ceva.” Ionatan a zis celui ce-i ducea armele: „Suie-te după mine, căci Domnul îi dă în mâinile lui Israel.”

And the men of the garrison hailed Jonathan and his armor-bearer and said, “Come up to us, and we will show you a thing.” And Jonathan said to his armor-bearer, “Come up after me, for the LORD has given them into the hand of Israel.”

És fölmászott Jónátán négykézláb, és utána a fegyverhordozója is. Hullottak a filiszteusok Jónátán előtt, és fegyverhordozója is sokat megölt a nyomában.

And Jonathan climbed up upon his hands and upon his feet, and his armourbearer after him: and they fell before Jonathan; and his armourbearer slew after him.

Then Jonathan climbed up on his hands and feet, and his armor-bearer after him. And they fell before Jonathan, and his armor-bearer killed them after him.

And that first slaughter, which Jonathan and his armourbearer made, was about twenty men, within as it were an half acre of land, which a yoke of oxen might plow.

And that first strike, which Jonathan and his armor-bearer made, killed about twenty men within as it were half a furrow’s length in an acre of land.

Erre riadalom támadt a táborban, a harcmezőn és az egész nép között. Az előőrs és a portyázó sereg is megrémült. A föld megrendült, mert Isten rettegést támasztott.

And there was trembling in the host, in the field, and among all the people: the garrison, and the spoilers, they also trembled, and the earth quaked: so it was a very great trembling.

A intrat groaza în tabără, în ţară şi în tot poporul; straja şi chiar şi prădătorii s-au înspăimântat; ţara s-a îngrozit. Era groaza lui Dumnezeu.

And there was a panic in the camp, in the field, and among all the people. The garrison and even the raiders trembled, the earth quaked, and it became a very great panic.

Amikor Saul őrei Benjámin városából, Gibeából meglátták, hogy a sokaság elszéled, és ide-oda hullámzik,

And the watchmen of Saul in Gibeah of Benjamin looked; and, behold, the multitude melted away, and they went on beating down one another.

And the watchmen of Saul in Gibeah of Benjamin looked, and behold, the multitude was dispersing here and there.

Then said Saul unto the people that were with him, Number now, and see who is gone from us. And when they had numbered, behold, Jonathan and his armourbearer were not there.

Then Saul said to the people who were with him, “Count and see who has gone from us.” And when they had counted, behold, Jonathan and his armor-bearer were not there.

Ekkor Saul azt mondta Ahijjának: Hozd elő Isten ládáját. Mert Isten ládája akkor Izráel fiainál volt.

És monda Saul Ahijának: Hozd elő az Isten ládáját; mert az Isten ládája akkor Izráel fiainál vala.

And Saul said unto Ahiah, Bring hither the ark of God. For the ark of God was at that time with the children of Israel.

Şi Saul a zis lui Ahia: „Adu încoace chivotul lui Dumnezeu!” – Căci pe vremea aceea chivotul lui Dumnezeu era cu copiii lui Israel. –

So Saul said to Ahijah, “Bring the ark of God here.” For the ark of God went at that time with the people of Israel.

Amíg Saul a pappal beszélt, a filiszteusok táborában mind nagyobb lett a zaj. Akkor Saul azt mondta a papnak: Hagyd abba, amit elkezdtél!

És történt, hogy a míg Saul a pappal beszéle, a Filiszteusok táborában mind nagyobb lőn a zsibongás. Monda azért Saul a papnak: Hagyd abba, a mit kezdettél.

And it came to pass, while Saul talked unto the priest, that the noise that was in the host of the Philistines went on and increased: and Saul said unto the priest, Withdraw thine hand.

Pe când vorbea Saul cu preotul, zarva în tabăra filistenilor se făcea tot mai mare; şi Saul a zis preotului: „Trage-ţi mâna!”

Now while Saul was talking to the priest, the tumult in the camp of the Philistines increased more and more. So Saul said to the priest, “Withdraw your hand.”

Ekkor hadba szólította Saul az egész hadinépet, amely vele volt, és elmentek az ütközetre, ahol azok már egymás ellen fordultak, és igen nagy volt a zűrzavar.

And Saul and all the people that were with him assembled themselves, and they came to the battle: and, behold, every man's sword was against his fellow, and there was a very great discomfiture.

Apoi Saul şi tot poporul care era cu el s-au strâns şi au înaintat până la locul luptei; şi filistenii au întors sabia unii împotriva altora, şi învălmăşeala era nespus de mare.

Then Saul and all the people who were with him rallied and went into the battle. And behold, every Philistine’s sword was against his fellow, and there was very great confusion.

És azok a héberek, akik korábban a filiszteusokkal voltak, s velük együtt jöttek föl a táborba, és körülöttük voltak, azok is Izráel népéhez csatlakoztak, amely Saul és Jónátán mellett volt.

És azok a zsidók [is, kik,] mint azelőtt is, a Filiszteusokkal valának, s velök együtt feljövének a táborba és a körül valának, azok is Izráel népéhez [csatlakozának,] mely Saul és Jonathán mellett vala.

Moreover the Hebrews that were with the Philistines before that time, which went up with them into the camp from the country round about, even they also turned to be with the Israelites that were with Saul and Jonathan.

Evreii care erau mai dinainte la filisteni şi care se suiseră cu ei în tabără de pe unde erau împrăştiaţi s-au unit cu israeliţii care erau cu Saul şi Ionatan.

Now the Hebrews who had been with the Philistines before that time and who had gone up with them into the camp, even they also turned to be with the Israelites who were with Saul and Jonathan.

És Izráelnek mindazon férfiai is, akik elrejtőztek Efraim hegyvidékén, amikor meghallották, hogy a filiszteusok menekülnek, üldözni kezdték őket a harcban.

Likewise all the men of Israel which had hid themselves in mount Ephraim, when they heard that the Philistines fled, even they also followed hard after them in the battle.

Likewise, when all the men of Israel who had hidden themselves in the hill country of Ephraim heard that the Philistines were fleeing, they too followed hard after them in the battle.

So the LORD saved Israel that day: and the battle passed over unto Bethaven.

So the LORD saved Israel that day. And the battle passed beyond Beth-aven.

Izráel népe igen el volt csigázva azon a napon, mert Saul esküvel kényszerítette a népet, ezt mondva: Átkozott az, aki estig enni merészel, míg bosszút nem állok ellenségeimen! Ezért nem evett semmit sem a nép.

És Izráel népe igen elepedett vala azon a napon, mert Saul esküvel kényszeríté a népet, mondván: Átkozott az, a ki kenyeret eszik estvéig, míg bosszút állok ellenségeimen, azért az egész nép semmit sem evék.

And the men of Israel were distressed that day: for Saul had adjured the people, saying, Cursed be the man that eateth any food until evening, that I may be avenged on mine enemies. So none of the people tasted any food.

Ziua aceea a fost obositoare pentru bărbaţii lui Israel. Saul pusese pe popor să jure, zicând: „Blestemat să fie omul care va mânca pâine până seara, până mă voi răzbuna pe vrăjmaşii mei!” Şi nimeni nu mâncase.

And the men of Israel had been hard pressed that day, so Saul had laid an oath on the people, saying, “Cursed be the man who eats food until it is evening and I am avenged on my enemies.” So none of the people had tasted food.

And all they of the land came to a wood; and there was honey upon the ground.

Now when all the people came to the forest, behold, there was honey on the ground.

Mikor pedig a hadinép beért az erdőbe, jóllehet folyt a méz, mégsem emelte senki sem a szájához a kezét, mert félt az eskü miatt.

Mikor pedig a nép beméne az erdőbe, jóllehet folyt a méz, [mindazáltal] senki sem érteté kezét szájához, mert félt a nép az eskü miatt.

And when the people were come into the wood, behold, the honey dropped; but no man put his hand to his mouth: for the people feared the oath.

Când a intrat poporul în pădure, a văzut mierea curgând; dar niciunul n-a dus mierea la gură, căci poporul ţinea jurământul.

And when the people entered the forest, behold, the honey was dropping, but no one put his hand to his mouth, for the people feared the oath.

Jónátán azonban nem hallotta, hogy apja megeskette a népet, ezért kinyújtotta a kezében levő botot, bemártotta a lépes mézbe, a szájához emelte, és felvidult a szeme.

Jonathán azonban nem hallotta vala, hogy atyja megesketé a népet, és kinyújtá a vessző végét, mely kezében vala, és bemártá azt a lépesmézbe, és kezét szájához vivé; és felvidulának az ő szemei.

But Jonathan heard not when his father charged the people with the oath: wherefore he put forth the end of the rod that was in his hand, and dipped it in an honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes were enlightened.

Ionatan nu ştia de jurământul pe care pusese tatăl său pe popor să-l facă; a întins vârful toiagului pe care-l avea în mână, l-a vârât într-un fagure de miere şi a dus mâna la gură; şi ochii i s-au luminat.

But Jonathan had not heard his father charge the people with the oath, so he put out the tip of the staff that was in his hand and dipped it in the honeycomb and put his hand to his mouth, and his eyes became bright.

Ekkor valaki a nép közül azt mondta neki: Apád ünnepélyesen így eskette meg a népet: Átkozott mindenki, aki ma enni merészel! És emiatt olyan kimerült a nép.

Szóla pedig valaki a nép közül, és mondá: Atyád ünnepélyesen megesketé a népet, mondván: Átkozott az, a ki csak kenyeret is eszik ma, és e miatt a nép kimerüle.

Then answered one of the people, and said, Thy father straitly charged the people with an oath, saying, Cursed be the man that eateth any food this day. And the people were faint.

Atunci cineva din popor, vorbindu-i, i-a zis: „Tatăl tău a pus pe popor să jure, zicând: „Blestemat să fie omul care va mânca astăzi!” Şi poporul era sleit de puteri.

Then one of the people said, “Your father strictly charged the people with an oath, saying, ‘Cursed be the man who eats food this day.’” And the people were faint.

Jónátán erre azt felelte: Apám bajba viszi az országot. Nézzétek, mennyire felvidult a szemem, hogy kóstoltam egy kicsit ebből a mézből.

És monda Jonathán: Atyám bajba vitte az országot; lássátok [mennyire] felvidulának szemeim, hogy ízlelék egy keveset ebből a mézből.

Then said Jonathan, My father hath troubled the land: see, I pray you, how mine eyes have been enlightened, because I tasted a little of this honey.

Şi Ionatan a zis: „Tatăl meu tulbură poporul; vedeţi, dar, cum mi s-au luminat ochii, pentru că am gustat puţin din mierea aceasta!

Then Jonathan said, “My father has troubled the land. See how my eyes have become bright because I tasted a little of this honey.

Hát még ha a nép egy jót evett volna ma az ellenségeinél talált zsákmányából! Nem nagyobb lett volna-e akkor a filiszteusok veresége?

Hátha még a nép jól evett volna ma ellenségeinek zsákmányából, melyet talált! Vajjon nem nagyobb lett volna-é akkor a Filiszteusok veresége?!

How much more, if haply the people had eaten freely to day of the spoil of their enemies which they found? for had there not been now a much greater slaughter among the Philistines?

How much better if the people had eaten freely today of the spoil of their enemies that they found. For now the defeat among the Philistines has not been great.”

És megverték azon a napon a filiszteusokat Mikmásztól Ajjálónig. A nép pedig nagyon kimerült.

És megverék azon a napon a Filiszteusokat Mikmástól Ajálonig. És a nép nagyon kimerüle.

And they smote the Philistines that day from Michmash to Aijalon: and the people were very faint.

And the people flew upon the spoil, and took sheep, and oxen, and calves, and slew them on the ground: and the people did eat them with the blood.

The people pounced on the spoil and took sheep and oxen and calves and slaughtered them on the ground. And the people ate them with the blood.

Akkor jelentették ezt Saulnak, hogy íme, vétkezik a nép az ÚR ellen, mert vérrel együtt eszik a húst. Ő azt mondta: Hűtlenül cselekedtek. Ezért gördítsetek ide hozzám egy nagy követ.

Then they told Saul, saying, Behold, the people sin against the LORD, in that they eat with the blood. And he said, Ye have transgressed: roll a great stone unto me this day.

Au spus lucrul acesta lui Saul şi i-au zis: „Iată că poporul păcătuieşte împotriva Domnului, mâncând cu sânge.” Saul a zis: „Voi faceţi o nelegiuire; rostogoliţi îndată o piatră mare încoace.”

Then they told Saul, “Behold, the people are sinning against the LORD by eating with the blood.” And he said, “You have dealt treacherously; roll a great stone to me here.”

Majd Saul így folytatta: Menjetek el mindenfelé a nép közé, és mondjátok meg nekik, hogy mindenki hozza ide hozzám a maga ökrét és a maga juhát! Itt vágjátok le és egyétek meg, és nem fogtok vétkezni az ÚR ellen azzal, hogy vérrel együtt eszitek a húst. And Saul said, Disperse yourselves among the people, and say unto them, Bring me hither every man his ox, and every man his sheep, and slay them here, and eat; and sin not against the LORD in eating with the blood. And all the people brought every man his ox with him that night, and slew them there.

And Saul said, “Disperse yourselves among the people and say to them, ‘Let every man bring his ox or his sheep and slaughter them here and eat, and do not sin against the LORD by eating with the blood.’” So every one of the people brought his ox with him that night and they slaughtered them there.

Ezután Saul azt mondta: Törjünk rá ma éjjel a filiszteusokra, és fosszuk ki őket virradatig, és senkit se hagyjunk meg közülük! Ők pedig azt felelték: Tégy úgy, ahogy jónak látod! De a pap ezt mondta: Járuljunk előbb Isten elé.

És monda Saul: Menjünk le [ez] éjjel a Filiszteusok után, és foszszuk ki őket virradatig, és senkit se hagyjunk meg közülök. Azok pedig mondának: A [mint] néked tetszik, [úgy] cselekedjél mindent. De a pap [azt] mondá: Járuljunk ide az Istenhez.

And Saul said, Let us go down after the Philistines by night, and spoil them until the morning light, and let us not leave a man of them. And they said, Do whatsoever seemeth good unto thee. Then said the priest, Let us draw near hither unto God.

Saul a zis: „Să ne coborâm în noaptea aceasta după filisteni, să-i jefuim până la lumina zilei şi să nu lăsăm să rămână unul măcar.” Ei au zis: „Fă tot ce vei crede.” Atunci preotul a zis: „Să ne apropiem aici de Dumnezeu.”

Then Saul said, “Let us go down after the Philistines by night and plunder them until the morning light; let us not leave a man of them.” And they said, “Do whatever seems good to you.” But the priest said, “Let us draw near to God here.”

És Saul megkérdezte Istent: Rátörjek-e a filiszteusokra? Izráel kezébe adod-e őket? De ő nem felelt neki azon a napon.

És megkérdezé Saul az Istent: Lemenjek-é a Filiszteusok után? Izráelnek kezébe adod-é őket? De ő nem felelt néki azon a napon.

And Saul asked counsel of God, Shall I go down after the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into the hand of Israel? But he answered him not that day.

Şi Saul a întrebat pe Dumnezeu: „Să mă cobor după filisteni? Îi vei da în mâinile lui Israel?” Dar în clipa aceea nu i-a dat niciun răspuns.

And Saul inquired of God, “Shall I go down after the Philistines? Will you give them into the hand of Israel?” But he did not answer him that day.

Azért ezt mondta Saul: Gyertek ide mindnyájan, ti, a nép oszlopai, hogy megtudjátok és meglássátok, hogy mi volt ez a bűn ma.

And Saul said, Draw ye near hither, all the chief of the people: and know and see wherein this sin hath been this day.

And Saul said, “Come here, all you leaders of the people, and know and see how this sin has arisen today.

Mert él az ÚR, Izráel szabadítója, hogy ha a fiam, Jónátán volna is, aki tette, meg kell halnia! De senki sem felelt neki az egész népből.

Mert él az Úr, a ki Izráelt oltalmazza, hogy ha fiamban, Jonathánban volna is, meg kell halnia; és az egész nép közül senki sem felele néki.

For, as the LORD liveth, which saveth Israel, though it be in Jonathan my son, he shall surely die. But there was not a man among all the people that answered him.

Căci viu este Domnul, Izbăvitorul lui Israel: chiar dacă l-ar fi săvârşit fiul meu Ionatan, va muri.” Şi nimeni din tot poporul nu i-a răspuns.

For as the LORD lives who saves Israel, though it be in Jonathan my son, he shall surely die.” But there was not a man among all the people who answered him.

Akkor ezt mondta egész Izráelnek: Ti legyetek az egyik oldalon, én pedig Jónátán fiammal a másik oldalon. A nép így válaszolt Saulnak: Tégy úgy, ahogy jónak látod!

És monda egész Izráelnek: Ti legyetek az egyik oldalon, én pedig és az én fiam, Jonathán legyünk a másik oldalon. És válaszola a nép Saulnak: A mint néked tetszik, úgy cselekedjél.

Then said he unto all Israel, Be ye on one side, and I and Jonathan my son will be on the other side. And the people said unto Saul, Do what seemeth good unto thee.

Then he said to all Israel, “You shall be on one side, and I and Jonathan my son will be on the other side.” And the people said to Saul, “Do what seems good to you.”

Ekkor Saul ezt mondta az ÚRnak, Izráel Istenének: Szolgáltass igazságot! És a sorsvetés Jónátánra és Saulra esett, a nép pedig megmenekült.

Akkor szóla Saul az Úrnak, Izráel Istenének: Szolgáltass igazságot! És kiválasztaték Jonathán és Saul, a nép pedig megmeneküle.

Therefore Saul said unto the LORD God of Israel, Give a perfect lot. And Saul and Jonathan were taken: but the people escaped.

Therefore Saul said, “O LORD God of Israel, why have you not answered your servant this day? If this guilt is in me or in Jonathan my son, O LORD, God of Israel, give Urim. But if this guilt is in your people Israel, give Thummim.” And Jonathan and Saul were taken, but the people escaped.

And Saul said, Cast lots between me and Jonathan my son. And Jonathan was taken.

Then Saul said, “Cast the lot between me and my son Jonathan.” And Jonathan was taken.

Akkor ezt mondta Saul Jónátánnak: Mondd meg nekem, mit tettél. Jónátán pedig elbeszélte neki, s ezt mondta: A kezemben levő bot végével megkóstoltam egy keveset a mézből. Itt vagyok, ám haljak meg!

Akkor monda Saul Jonathánnak: Mondd meg nékem, mit cselekedtél? Jonathán pedig elbeszélte néki, és monda: A pálcza végével, mely kezembe vala, ízlelék egy keveset a mézből; itt vagyok, haljak meg!

Then Saul said to Jonathan, Tell me what thou hast done. And Jonathan told him, and said, I did but taste a little honey with the end of the rod that was in mine hand, and, lo, I must die.

Saul a zis lui Ionatan: „Spune-mi ce-ai făcut.” Ionatan i-a spus şi a zis: „Am gustat puţină miere, cu vârful toiagului pe care-l aveam în mână: iată-mă, voi muri.”

Then Saul said to Jonathan, “Tell me what you have done.” And Jonathan told him, “I tasted a little honey with the tip of the staff that was in my hand. Here I am; I will die.”

Saul ezt mondta: Úgy cselekedjék Isten most és ezután is, hogy meg kell halnod, Jónátán.

És Saul monda: Úgy cselekedjék az Úr most és ezután is, hogy meg kell halnod Jonathán.

And Saul answered, God do so and more also: for thou shalt surely die, Jonathan.

Şi Saul a zis: „Dumnezeu să Se poarte cu toată asprimea faţă de mine, dacă nu vei muri, Ionatane!”

And Saul said, “God do so to me and more also; you shall surely die, Jonathan.”

A nép azonban így szólt Saulhoz: Jónátán haljon-e meg, aki ezt a nagy szabadulást szerezte Izráelnek? Távol legyen tőlünk! Él az ÚR, hogy egyetlen hajszála sem eshet le fejéről a földre, mert Isten segítségével vitte véghez ezt ma. Így mentette meg a nép Jónátánt a haláltól.

A nép azonban monda Saulnak: Jonathán haljon-é meg, a ki ezt a nagy szabadulást szerezte Izráelben? Távol legyen! Él az Úr, hogy egyetlen hajszála sem esik le fejéről a földre, mert Istennek [segedelmével] cselekedte ezt ma. Megváltá azért a nép Jonathánt, és nem hala meg.

And the people said unto Saul, Shall Jonathan die, who hath wrought this great salvation in Israel? God forbid: as the LORD liveth, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he hath wrought with God this day. So the people rescued Jonathan, that he died not.

Poporul a zis lui Saul: „Ce! să moară Ionatan, el, care a făcut această mare izbăvire în Israel? Niciodată! Viu este Domnul, că un păr din capul lui nu va cădea la pământ, căci cu Dumnezeu a lucrat el în ziua aceasta.” Astfel poporul a scăpat pe Ionatan de la moarte.

Then the people said to Saul, “Shall Jonathan die, who has worked this great salvation in Israel? Far from it! As the LORD lives, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground, for he has worked with God this day.” So the people ransomed Jonathan, so that he did not die.

Then Saul went up from following the Philistines: and the Philistines went to their own place.

When Saul had taken the kingship over Israel, he fought against all his enemies on every side, against Moab, against the Ammonites, against Edom, against the kings of Zobah, and against the Philistines. Wherever he turned he routed them.

Sereget gyűjtött, megverte Amálékot, és megszabadította Izráelt fosztogatóinak kezéből.

And he gathered an host, and smote the Amalekites, and delivered Israel out of the hands of them that spoiled them.

And he did valiantly and struck the Amalekites and delivered Israel out of the hands of those who plundered them.

And the name of Saul's wife was Ahinoam, the daughter of Ahimaaz: and the name of the captain of his host was Abner, the son of Ner, Saul's uncle.

Numele nevestei lui Saul era Ahinoam, fata lui Ahimaaţ. Numele căpeteniei oştirii lui era Abner, fiul lui Ner, unchiul lui Saul.

And the name of Saul’s wife was Ahinoam the daughter of Ahimaaz. And the name of the commander of his army was Abner the son of Ner, Saul’s uncle.

A filiszteusok elleni háború mind súlyosabb lett Saul egész életében. Ezért, amikor Saul meglátott egyegy erős vagy egy-egy bátor férfit, szolgálatába fogadta.

And there was sore war against the Philistines all the days of Saul: and when Saul saw any strong man, or any valiant man, he took him unto him.

În tot timpul vieţii lui Saul a fost un război înverşunat împotriva filistenilor; şi de îndată ce Saul zărea vreun om tare şi voinic, îl lua cu el.

There was hard fighting against the Philistines all the days of Saul. And when Saul saw any strong man, or any valiant man, he attached him to himself.
