And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramothgilead:

And when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber;

Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not.

Then take the flask of oil and pour it on his head and say, ‘Thus says the LORD, I anoint you king over Israel.’ Then open the door and flee; do not linger.”

And when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to thee, O captain. And Jehu said, Unto which of all us? And he said, To thee, O captain.

And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I have anointed thee king over the people of the LORD, even over Israel.

hogy elveszítsed uradnak, Ahábnak a háza népét! Mert bosszút állok Jezábelen szolgáimnak, a prófétáknak véréért és az ÚR minden szolgájának a véréért.

And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.

Să nimiceşti casa stăpânului tău Ahab, şi voi răzbuna asupra Izabelei sângele robilor Mei, prorocii, şi sângele tuturor slujitorilor Domnului.

And you shall strike down the house of Ahab your master, so that I may avenge on Jezebel the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD.

Kivész egészen Aháb háza népe, mert kiirtom Aháb minden fiú utódját, a szabadot és a rabszolgát is Izráelben.

És kivész egészen az Akháb háza, és kigyomlálom mind az Akhábhoz tartozókat, még az ebet is, mind a berekesztettet, mind az elhagyottat Izráelben;

For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel:

For the whole house of Ahab shall perish, and I will cut off from Ahab every male, bond or free, in Israel.

And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah:

Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said unto him, Is all well? wherefore came this mad fellow to thee? And he said unto them, Ye know the man, and his communication.

When Jehu came out to the servants of his master, they said to him, “Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?” And he said to them, “You know the fellow and his talk.”

De ők azt mondták: Hazugság! Mondd meg az igazat. Mire ő így szólt: Ilyesfélét mondott nekem: „Így szól az ÚR: Fölkentelek téged Izráel királyává.”

And they said, It is false; tell us now. And he said, Thus and thus spake he to me, saying, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel.

And they said, “That is not true; tell us now.” And he said, “Thus and so he spoke to me, saying, ‘Thus says the LORD, I anoint you king over Israel.’”

Then they hasted, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king.

So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram had kept Ramothgilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria.

Astfel a uneltit Iehu, fiul lui Iosafat, fiul lui Nimşi, împotriva lui Ioram. – Şi Ioram şi tot Israelul apărau Ramotul din Galaad împotriva lui Hazael, împăratul Siriei.

Thus Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram with all Israel had been on guard at Ramoth-gilead against Hazael king of Syria,

But king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) And Jehu said, If it be your minds, then let none go forth nor escape out of the city to go to tell it in Jezreel.

but King Joram had returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds that the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) So Jehu said, “If this is your decision, then let no one slip out of the city to go and tell the news in Jezreel.”

Then Jehu mounted his chariot and went to Jezreel, for Joram lay there. And Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to visit Joram.

And there stood a watchman on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, I see a company. And Joram said, Take an horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, Is it peace?

Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he saw the company of Jehu as he came and said, “I see a company.” And Joram said, “Take a horseman and send to meet them, and let him say, ‘Is it peace?’”

Erre odalovagolt a lovas eléjük, és ezt mondta: Azt kérdezi a király: „Békés-e a szándékotok?” Jéhú így felelt: Mit törődsz a békességgel? Kerülj a hátam mögé! Akkor az őrálló jelentette, hogy a követ odament ugyan, de nem tért vissza.

So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu said, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he cometh not again.

So a man on horseback went to meet him and said, “Thus says the king, ‘Is it peace?’” And Jehu said, “What do you have to do with peace? Turn around and ride behind me.” And the watchman reported, saying, “The messenger reached them, but he is not coming back.”

Then he sent out a second on horseback, which came to them, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu answered, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me.

Then he sent out a second horseman, who came to them and said, “Thus the king has said, ‘Is it peace?’” And Jehu answered, “What do you have to do with peace? Turn around and ride behind me.”

And the watchman told, saying, He came even unto them, and cometh not again: and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he driveth furiously.

And Joram said, Make ready. And his chariot was made ready. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out against Jehu, and met him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.

Joram said, “Make ready.” And they made ready his chariot. Then Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah set out, each in his chariot, and went to meet Jehu, and met him at the property of Naboth the Jezreelite.

Amikor Jórám meglátta Jéhút, megkérdezte: Békés-e a szándékod, Jéhú? Ő így felelt: Hogy lehetne békés, amíg anyádnak, Jezábelnek paráznasága és sok varázsolgatása még egyre folyik!

And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?

And when Joram saw Jehu, he said, “Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered, “What peace can there be, so long as the whorings and the sorceries of your mother Jezebel are so many?”

Ekkor Jórám megfordult, futásnak eredt, és ezt kiáltotta Ahazjának: Árulás, Ahazjá!

And Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, There is treachery, O Ahaziah.

And Jehu drew a bow with his full strength, and smote Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.

And Jehu drew his bow with his full strength, and shot Joram between the shoulders, so that the arrow pierced his heart, and he sank in his chariot.

Ekkor Jéhú így szólt Bidkarnak, a hadnagyának: Fogd meg és vesd a jezréeli Nábót birtokára! Mert emlékezz csak vissza, amikor az apja, Aháb után egymás mellett lovagoltunk, és az ÚR ezt a fenyegetést mondta felőle:

Then said Jehu to Bidkar his captain, Take up, and cast him in the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite: for remember how that, when I and thou rode together after Ahab his father, the LORD laid this burden upon him;

Jehu said to Bidkar his aide, “Take him up and throw him on the plot of ground belonging to Naboth the Jezreelite. For remember, when you and I rode side by side behind Ahab his father, how the LORD made this pronouncement against him:

Bizony láttam, amikor kiontották Nábótnak és fiainak vérét, így szól az ÚR. Azért megfizetek neked ezen a birtokon, így szól az ÚR. Most tehát fogjad őt és dobd erre a birtokra az ÚR beszéde szerint.

Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, saith the LORD; and I will requite thee in this plat, saith the LORD. Now therefore take and cast him into the plat of ground, according to the word of the LORD.

‘As surely as I saw yesterday the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons—declares the LORD—I will repay you on this plot of ground.’ Now therefore take him up and throw him on the plot of ground, in accordance with the word of the LORD.”

Amikor Ahazjá, Júda királya látta ezt, futásnak eredt Bét-Haggán felé, de Jéhú üldözőbe vette, és azt parancsolta: Őt is vágjátok le a szekerében. És megsebesítették őt Gúr hágójánál, amely Jibleám mellett van. Elmenekült Megiddóba, de ott meghalt.

Akházia pedig, a Júda királya, mikor látta ezt, futni kezde a kert házának útján; de Jéhu utána menvén, monda: Ezt is vágjátok le a szekérben [és megsebesíték őt] a Gúr hágójánál, a mely Jibleám mellett van; és ő Megiddóba menekülvén, ott meghalt.

But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu followed after him, and said, Smite him also in the chariot. And they did so at the going up to Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there.

Ahazia, împăratul lui Iuda, când a văzut lucrul acesta, a fugit pe drumul care duce la casa din grădină. Iehu l-a urmărit şi a zis: „Loveşte-l şi pe el în car!” Şi l-au lovit la suişul Gur, lângă Ibleam. El a fugit la Meghido şi a murit acolo.

When Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled in the direction of Beth-haggan. And Jehu pursued him and said, “Shoot him also.” And they shot him in the chariot at the ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo and died there.

And in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah.

In the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab, Ahaziah began to reign over Judah.

Amikor Jéhú Jezréelbe ment, és Jezábel ezt meghallotta, arcát kifestette kenettel, felékesítette a fejét, és kitámaszkodott az ablakon.

És mikor Jéhu Jezréelbe ment és Jézabel ezt meghallotta, arczát megékesíté kenettel, felékesítette fejét, és kitámaszkodott az ablakon.

And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.

Iehu a intrat în Izreel. Izabela, auzind lucrul acesta, şi-a uns sprâncenele, şi-a împodobit capul şi se uita pe fereastră.

When Jehu came to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it. And she painted her eyes and adorned her head and looked out of the window.

Amikor Jéhú bevonult a kapun, azt kérdezte: Békesség van-e, Zimri, uradnak gyilkosa?

És mikor Jéhu bevonult a kapun, monda: Békesség van-é, óh Zimri! uradnak gyilkosa?

And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Had Zimri peace, who slew his master?

Pe când intra Iehu pe poartă, ea a zis: „Pace, noule Zimri, ucigaşul stăpânului său?”

And as Jehu entered the gate, she said, “Is it peace, you Zimri, murderer of your master?”

Ő pedig föltekintve az ablakra azt mondta: Ki van velem? Kicsoda? Ekkor két vagy három főember letekintett.

And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? who? And there looked out to him two or three eunuchs.

El a ridicat faţa spre fereastră şi a zis: „Cine este pentru mine? Cine?” Şi doi sau trei dregători s-au uitat la el, apropiindu-se de fereastră.

And he lifted up his face to the window and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” Two or three eunuchs looked out at him.

Azt mondta nekik: Dobjátok le! Erre ledobták, és a vére a falra fröccsent és a lovakra, és eltaposták.

És monda azoknak: Vessétek alá őt. És aláveték, és az ő vére szétfrecskendezett a falra és a lovakra, és eltapodtatá őt.

And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot.

El a zis: „Aruncaţi-o jos!” Ei au aruncat-o jos, şi i-a ţâşnit sângele pe zid şi pe cai. Iehu a călcat-o în picioare.

He said, “Throw her down.” So they threw her down. And some of her blood spattered on the wall and on the horses, and they trampled on her.

Jéhú pedig bement oda, evett, ivott, és azt mondta: Nézzetek utána annak az átkozottnak, és temessétek el. Hiszen mégiscsak egy királyleány volt!

Bemenvén pedig oda, evett és ivott, és monda: Nézzetek utána annak az átkozottnak és temessétek el; hiszen [mégis] [csak] király leánya.

And when he was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed woman, and bury her: for she is a king's daughter.

Apoi a intrat, a mâncat şi a băut, şi a zis: „Duceţi-vă de vedeţi pe blestemata aceea şi îngropaţi-o, căci este fată de împărat.”

Then he went in and ate and drank. And he said, “See now to this cursed woman and bury her, for she is a king’s daughter.”

And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.

Visszamentek, megmondták neki, mire ő ezt mondta: Ez az ÚR beszéde, amelyet kijelentett az ő szolgája, a tisbei Illés által: Az ebek eszik meg Jezábel testét Jezréel földjén,

Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This is the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel:

és olyan lesz Jezréel földjén Jezábel teste, mint trágya a mezőn, senki meg nem mondhatja róla, hogy ez volt Jezábel!

És olyan lesz Jezréel földjén a Jézabel teste, mint a mezőn a ganéj, úgy, hogy senki meg nem mondhatja: Ez Jézabel!

And the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel; so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel.

şi hoitul Izabelei va fi ca gunoiul pe faţa ogoarelor, în ogorul din Izreel, aşa încât nu se va mai putea zice: „Aceasta este Izabela!”

and the corpse of Jezebel shall be as dung on the face of the field in the territory of Jezreel, so that no one can say, This is Jezebel.’”
