But Jehosheba, the daughter of king Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king's sons which were slain; and they hid him, even him and his nurse, in the bedchamber from Athaliah, so that he was not slain.

But Jehosheba, the daughter of King Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the king’s sons who were being put to death, and she put him and his nurse in a bedroom. Thus they hid him from Athaliah, so that he was not put to death.

Jóás vele együtt rejtve maradt az ÚR házában hat esztendeig. Az országban pedig Ataljá uralkodott.

És elrejtve vala [Joás] ő vele együtt az Úr házában hat esztendeig, és Athália uralkodott az országban.

And he was with her hid in the house of the LORD six years. And Athaliah did reign over the land.

A stat şase ani ascuns cu Ioşeba în Casa Domnului. Şi în ţară domnea Atalia.

And he remained with her six years, hidden in the house of the LORD, while Athaliah reigned over the land.

A hetedik esztendőben azonban Jójádá elküldött, és magához hívatta a palotaőrök és a testőrök századparancsnokait, bevitte őket magával az ÚR házába, szövetséget kötött velük, megeskette őket az ÚR házában, majd megmutatta nekik a királyfit.

And the seventh year Jehoiada sent and fetched the rulers over hundreds, with the captains and the guard, and brought them to him into the house of the LORD, and made a covenant with them, and took an oath of them in the house of the LORD, and shewed them the king's son.

But in the seventh year Jehoiada sent and brought the captains of the Carites and of the guards, and had them come to him in the house of the LORD. And he made a covenant with them and put them under oath in the house of the LORD, and he showed them the king’s son.

Azután megparancsolta nekik: Ezt kell tennetek: egyharmada azoknak, akik a nyugalom napján jönnek őrségre, tartson őrséget a királyi palotánál.

And he commanded them, saying, This is the thing that ye shall do; A third part of you that enter in on the sabbath shall even be keepers of the watch of the king's house;

Apoi le-a poruncit astfel: „Iată ce aveţi să faceţi. O treime din voi, care intră de slujbă în ziua Sabatului, să facă de strajă la casa împăratului,

And he commanded them, “This is the thing that you shall do: one third of you, those who come off duty on the Sabbath and guard the king’s house

Egyharmad részetek legyen a Szúr-kapuban, egyharmad részetek a testőrök mögötti kapuban. Nagy figyelemmel őrizzék a házat, hogy senki rajtunk ne üthessen!

A harmadrésze legyen a Súr kapuban, és a harmadrésze a testőrök háta mögött való kapuban, és nagy szorgalmatossággal őrizzétek e házat, hogy senki reánk ne üthessen.

And a third part shall be at the gate of Sur; and a third part at the gate behind the guard: so shall ye keep the watch of the house, that it be not broken down.

(another third being at the gate Sur and a third at the gate behind the guards) shall guard the palace.

Az a két rész pedig közületek, az egész, amely szombaton kilép az őrszolgálatból, maradjon az ÚR házának őrzésére a király mellett.

And two parts of all you that go forth on the sabbath, even they shall keep the watch of the house of the LORD about the king.

Celelalte două cete ale voastre, toţi cei ce ies din slujbă în ziua Sabatului, vor păzi Casa Domnului de lângă împărat;

And the two divisions of you, which come on duty in force on the Sabbath and guard the house of the LORD on behalf of the king,

Vegyétek körül a királyt mindnyájan fegyverrel a kezetekben, és azt, aki a sorokba be akarna törni, öljétek meg! A király körül legyetek, amikor kijön és bemegy.

És vegyétek körül a királyt, mindenki kezében fegyverével, és a ki a sorokba benyomul, ölettessék meg, és a király körül legyetek kijövetelekor és bemenetelekor.

And ye shall compass the king round about, every man with his weapons in his hand: and he that cometh within the ranges, let him be slain: and be ye with the king as he goeth out and as he cometh in.

shall surround the king, each with his weapons in his hand. And whoever approaches the ranks is to be put to death. Be with the king when he goes out and when he comes in.”

A csapatok vezérei úgy cselekedtek, amint Jójádá főpap meghagyta nekik. Mindegyik maga mellé vette az ő embereit, azokat, akik szombaton őrségbe álltak, azokkal együtt, akiket felváltottak szombaton, és Jójádá paphoz mentek.

And the captains over the hundreds did according to all things that Jehoiada the priest commanded: and they took every man his men that were to come in on the sabbath, with them that should go out on the sabbath, and came to Jehoiada the priest.

And the guard stood, every man with his weapons in his hand, round about the king, from the right corner of the temple to the left corner of the temple, along by the altar and the temple.

And he brought forth the king's son, and put the crown upon him, and gave him the testimony; and they made him king, and anointed him; and they clapped their hands, and said, God save the king.

Amikor szétnézett, íme, a király ott állt az emelvényen, ahogy szokás. A király előtt álltak a fejedelmek és a trombitások, az egész föld népe ujjongott, és trombitáltak. Akkor Ataljá megszaggatta ruháját, és így kiáltott: Árulás! Árulás!

And when she looked, behold, the king stood by a pillar, as the manner was, and the princes and the trumpeters by the king, and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew with trumpets: and Athaliah rent her clothes, and cried, Treason, Treason.

And when she looked, there was the king standing by the pillar, according to the custom, and the captains and the trumpeters beside the king, and all the people of the land rejoicing and blowing trumpets. And Athaliah tore her clothes and cried, “Treason! Treason!”

De Jójádá főpap azt parancsolta a csapatok vezéreinek, a sereg hadnagyainak: Vezessétek ki őt a sorok között, és ha valaki követné őt, öljétek meg fegyverrel! Mert azt mondta a főpap, hogy ne öljék meg az ÚR házában.

But Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of the hundreds, the officers of the host, and said unto them, Have her forth without the ranges: and him that followeth her kill with the sword. For the priest had said, Let her not be slain in the house of the LORD.

Then Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains who were set over the army, “Bring her out between the ranks, and put to death with the sword anyone who follows her.” For the priest said, “Let her not be put to death in the house of the LORD.”

And Jehoiada made a covenant between the LORD and the king and the people, that they should be the LORD's people; between the king also and the people.

And all the people of the land went into the house of Baal, and brake it down; his altars and his images brake they in pieces thoroughly, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. And the priest appointed officers over the house of the LORD.

Then all the people of the land went to the house of Baal and tore it down; his altars and his images they broke in pieces, and they killed Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. And the priest posted watchmen over the house of the LORD.

And he took the rulers over hundreds, and the captains, and the guard, and all the people of the land; and they brought down the king from the house of the LORD, and came by the way of the gate of the guard to the king's house. And he sat on the throne of the kings.

And all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was in quiet: and they slew Athaliah with the sword beside the king's house.

So all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet after Athaliah had been put to death with the sword at the king’s house.
