Pekahnak, Remaljáhú fiának tizenhetedik esztendejében kezdett uralkodni Áház, Jótámnak, Júda királyának fia.

In the seventeenth year of Pekah the son of Remaliah Ahaz the son of Jotham king of Judah began to reign.

Twenty years old was Ahaz when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem, and did not that which was right in the sight of the LORD his God, like David his father.

Ahaz avea douăzeci de ani când a ajuns împărat, şi a domnit şaisprezece ani la Ierusalim. El n-a făcut ce este plăcut înaintea Domnului Dumnezeului său, cum făcuse tatăl său David.

but he walked in the way of the kings of Israel. He even burned his son as an offering, according to the despicable practices of the nations whom the LORD drove out before the people of Israel.

Abban az időben jött fel Recín, Arám királya és Pekah, Remaljáhú fia, Izráel királya Jeruzsálem ellen. Körül is zárták Áházt, de nem tudták legyőzni.

Then Rezin king of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to war: and they besieged Ahaz, but could not overcome him.

Then Rezin king of Syria and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, came up to wage war on Jerusalem, and they besieged Ahaz but could not conquer him.

At that time Rezin king of Syria recovered Elath to Syria, and drave the Jews from Elath: and the Syrians came to Elath, and dwelt there unto this day.

Követeket küldött Áház Tiglat-Pileszerhez, Asszíria királyához ezzel az üzenettel: Szolgád és fiad vagyok. Jöjj fel, és szabadíts meg engem Arám királyának kezéből és Izráel királyának markából, akik reám támadtak.

So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, saying, I am thy servant and thy son: come up, and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, which rise up against me.

So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, saying, “I am your servant and your son. Come up and rescue me from the hand of the king of Syria and from the hand of the king of Israel, who are attacking me.”

And Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king's house, and sent it for a present to the king of Assyria.

And the king of Assyria hearkened unto him: for the king of Assyria went up against Damascus, and took it, and carried the people of it captive to Kir, and slew Rezin.

And the king of Assyria listened to him. The king of Assyria marched up against Damascus and took it, carrying its people captive to Kir, and he killed Rezin.

And king Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, and saw an altar that was at Damascus: and king Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest the fashion of the altar, and the pattern of it, according to all the workmanship thereof.

Împăratul Ahaz s-a dus la Damasc înaintea lui Tiglat-Pileser, împăratul Asiriei. Şi, văzând altarul din Damasc, împăratul Ahaz a trimis preotului Urie chipul şi înfăţişarea acestui altar, întocmai cum era făcut.

When King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, he saw the altar that was at Damascus. And King Ahaz sent to Uriah the priest a model of the altar, and its pattern, exact in all its details.

And when the king was come from Damascus, the king saw the altar: and the king approached to the altar, and offered thereon.

And when the king came from Damascus, the king viewed the altar. Then the king drew near to the altar and went up on it

And he burnt his burnt offering and his meat offering, and poured his drink offering, and sprinkled the blood of his peace offerings, upon the altar.

And he brought also the brasen altar, which was before the LORD, from the forefront of the house, from between the altar and the house of the LORD, and put it on the north side of the altar.

Áház király megparancsolta Úrijjá papnak: E nagy oltáron gyújtsd meg a reggeli égőáldozatot és az esti ételáldozatot, a király égőáldozatát is az ő ételáldozatával együtt, az egész föld népének is mind az égőáldozatát, mind az ételáldozatát és italáldozatát. Az égőáldozat minden vérét és a többi áldozat minden vérét hintsd el körülötte. A rézoltárról pedig még majd gondolkozom.

És megparancsolta Akház király Uriás papnak, mondván: E nagy oltáron gyújtsd meg a reggeli égőáldozatot és az esteli ételáldozatot, a király égőáldozatját is az ő ételáldozatával együtt, az egész föld népének is mind égőáldozatát, mind ételáldozatját, mind italáldozatját, és az égőáldozat minden vérét és egyéb áldozatnak minden vérét a körül hintsed el; a rézoltár felől pedig még [majd] gondolkozom.

And king Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest, saying, Upon the great altar burn the morning burnt offering, and the evening meat offering, and the king's burnt sacrifice, and his meat offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their meat offering, and their drink offerings; and sprinkle upon it all the blood of the burnt offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice: and the brasen altar shall be for me to enquire by.

Şi împăratul Ahaz a dat următoarea poruncă preotului Urie: „Să arzi pe altarul cel mare arderea de tot de dimineaţă şi darul de mâncare de seară, arderea de tot a împăratului şi darul lui de mâncare, arderile de tot ale întregului popor din ţară şi darurile lor de mâncare, să torni pe el jertfele lor de băutură şi să stropeşti pe el tot sângele arderilor de tot şi tot sângele jertfelor; cât despre altarul de aramă, nu-mi pasă de el.”

And King Ahaz commanded Uriah the priest, saying, “On the great altar burn the morning burnt offering and the evening grain offering and the king’s burnt offering and his grain offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their grain offering and their drink offering. And throw on it all the blood of the burnt offering and all the blood of the sacrifice, but the bronze altar shall be for me to inquire by.”

És Úrijjá pap mindent úgy cselekedett, ahogy Áház király megparancsolta.

Thus did Urijah the priest, according to all that king Ahaz commanded.

Áház király letörette a mosdóállványok peremeit, és levetette róluk a mosdómedencéket. A tengert is levetette a rézökrökről, amelyeken állott, és kőtalapzatra helyeztette.

And king Ahaz cut off the borders of the bases, and removed the laver from off them; and took down the sea from off the brasen oxen that were under it, and put it upon the pavement of stones.

And King Ahaz cut off the frames of the stands and removed the basin from them, and he took down the sea from off the bronze oxen that were under it and put it on a stone pedestal.

And the covert for the sabbath that they had built in the house, and the king's entry without, turned he from the house of the LORD for the king of Assyria.

De hatârul împăratului Asiriei, a schimbat în Casa Domnului pridvorul Sabatului care fusese zidit acolo, precum şi intrarea de afară a împăratului.

And the covered way for the Sabbath that had been built inside the house and the outer entrance for the king he caused to go around the house of the LORD, because of the king of Assyria.

Now the rest of the acts of Ahaz which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

Majd elaludt, és atyáihoz tért Áház, és elődeihez temették Dávid városában, és utána fia, Ezékiás lett a király.

And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead.
