Amikor elközelgett Dávid halálának az ideje, ezt a parancsot adta fiának, Salamonnak:

Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,

I go the way of all the earth: be thou strong therefore, and shew thyself a man;

„Eu plec pe calea pe care merge toată lumea. Întăreşte-te şi fii om!

“I am about to go the way of all the earth. Be strong, and show yourself a man,

Őrizd meg, amit az ÚR, a te Istened rád bízott, hogy az ő útjain járj, és megőrizd rendeléseit, parancsolatait, döntéseit és intelmeit, ahogy meg van írva Mózes törvényében, hogy jó előmeneteled legyen mindenben, amit cselekedni fogsz, és mindenütt, amerre fordulsz.

And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself:

and keep the charge of the LORD your God, walking in his ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments, his rules, and his testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn,

Hogy beteljesítse az ÚR az ő beszédét, amelyet szólt nekem, e szavakkal: Ha fiaid megőrzik útjukat, és tökéletességgel, teljes szívük és teljes lelkük szerint járnak előttem, soha ki nem fogy a férfi közüled Izráel trónjáról.

That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.

şi pentru ca Domnul să împlinească următoarele cuvinte pe care le-a rostit pentru mine: „Dacă fiii tăi vor lua seama la calea lor, umblând cu credincioşie înaintea Mea, din toată inima lor şi din tot sufletul lor, nu vei fi lipsit niciodată de un urmaş pe scaunul de domnie al lui Israel.”

that the LORD may establish his word that he spoke concerning me, saying, ‘If your sons pay close attention to their way, to walk before me in faithfulness with all their heart and with all their soul, you shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.’

Azt is jól tudod, mit tett velem Jóáb, Cerújá fia, mit tett Izráel seregeinek két fővezérével, Abnérral, Nér fiával és Amászával, Jeter fiával, akiket megölt, s ezzel háborús vért ontott a békesség idején, és háborús vérrel szennyezte be dereka övét és a lábán levő sarut.

Moreover thou knowest also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two captains of the hosts of Israel, unto Abner the son of Ner, and unto Amasa the son of Jether, whom he slew, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war upon his girdle that was about his loins, and in his shoes that were on his feet.

Ştii ce mi-a făcut Ioab, fiul Ţeruiei, ce a făcut celor două căpetenii ale oştirii lui Israel, lui Abner, fiul lui Ner, şi lui Amasa, fiul lui Ieter. I-a omorât; a vărsat în timp de pace sânge de război şi a pus sângele de război pe cingătoarea cu care era încins la mijloc şi pe încălţămintea din picioare.

“Moreover, you also know what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, how he dealt with the two commanders of the armies of Israel, Abner the son of Ner, and Amasa the son of Jether, whom he killed, avenging in time of peace for blood that had been shed in war, and putting the blood of war on the belt around his waist and on the sandals on his feet.

Tégy bölcsességed szerint, és ne engedd, hogy megőszüljön, és békességgel menjen a koporsóba.

Cselekedjél a te bölcseséged szerint, és ne engedd, hogy megőszülvén, békességgel menjen a koporsóba.

Do therefore according to thy wisdom, and let not his hoar head go down to the grave in peace.

Fă după înţelepciunea ta, şi să nu laşi ca perii lui cei albi să se coboare în pace în Locuinţa morţilor.

Act therefore according to your wisdom, but do not let his gray head go down to Sheol in peace.

But shew kindness unto the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be of those that eat at thy table: for so they came to me when I fled because of Absalom thy brother.

But deal loyally with the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be among those who eat at your table, for with such loyalty they met me when I fled from Absalom your brother.

Íme, környezetedben van a benjámini Simei, Gérá fia Bahúrimból, aki gyalázatosan szidalmazott akkor, amikor Mahanaimba mentem. De aztán, amikor lejött elém a Jordánhoz, így esküdtem meg neki az ÚRra: Nem öllek meg fegyverrel!

And, behold, thou hast with thee Shimei the son of Gera, a Benjamite of Bahurim, which cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim: but he came down to meet me at Jordan, and I sware to him by the LORD, saying, I will not put thee to death with the sword.

Iată că ai lângă tine pe Şimei, fiul lui Ghera, beniamitul, din Bahurim. El a rostit împotriva mea mari blesteme în ziua când mă duceam la Mahanaim. Dar s-a coborât înaintea mea la Iordan, şi i-am jurat pe Domnul, zicând: „Nu te voi omorî cu sabia.”

And there is also with you Shimei the son of Gera, the Benjaminite from Bahurim, who cursed me with a grievous curse on the day when I went to Mahanaim. But when he came down to meet me at the Jordan, I swore to him by the LORD, saying, ‘I will not put you to death with the sword.’

Te azonban ne hagyd őt büntetés nélkül, és mivel eszes férfi vagy, tudod, mit kell cselekedned vele, hogy ősz haját véresen bocsásd a koporsóba.

Now therefore hold him not guiltless: for thou art a wise man, and knowest what thou oughtest to do unto him; but his hoar head bring thou down to the grave with blood.

Now therefore do not hold him guiltless, for you are a wise man. You will know what you ought to do to him, and you shall bring his gray head down with blood to Sheol.”

And the days that David reigned over Israel were forty years: seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three years reigned he in Jerusalem.

Vremea cât a împărăţit David peste Israel a fost de patruzeci de ani: la Hebron a împărăţit şapte ani, iar la Ierusalim a împărăţit treizeci şi trei de ani.

And the time that David reigned over Israel was forty years. He reigned seven years in Hebron and thirty-three years in Jerusalem.

Then sat Solomon upon the throne of David his father; and his kingdom was established greatly.

Solomon a şezut pe scaunul de domnie al tatălui său, David, şi împărăţia lui s-a întărit foarte mult.

So Solomon sat on the throne of David his father, and his kingdom was firmly established.

De Adónijjá, Haggít fia bement Betsabéhoz, Salamon anyjához, aki megkérdezte: Békességes-e a jöveteled? Ő azt felelte: Békességes.

And Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon. And she said, Comest thou peaceably? And he said, Peaceably.

Adonia, fiul Haghitei, s-a dus la Bat-Şeba, mama lui Solomon. Ea i-a zis: „Vii cu gânduri paşnice?” El a răspuns: „Da.”

Then Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon. And she said, “Do you come peacefully?” He said, “Peacefully.”

He said moreover, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And she said, Say on.

Then he said, “I have something to say to you.” She said, “Speak.”

Akkor ezt mondta Adónijjá: Tudod, hogy az ország az enyém volt, és egész Izráel engem tekintett királynak. De elvették az országot tőlem, és a testvéremé lett, mert neki adta az ÚR.

Akkor monda [Adónia:] Te tudod, hogy az ország az enyém vala, és az egész Izráel reám néz vala, hogy én uralkodjam; de elvéteték az ország tőlem, és lőn az én atyámfiáé, mert az Úrtól adattaték néki.

And he said, Thou knowest that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign: howbeit the kingdom is turned about, and is become my brother's: for it was his from the LORD.

Şi el a zis: „Ştii că împărăţia era a mea şi că tot Israelul îşi îndrepta privirile spre mine ca să fiu împărat. Dar împărăţia s-a întors şi a căzut fratelui meu, pentru că Domnul i-a dat-o.

He said, “You know that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel fully expected me to reign. However, the kingdom has turned about and become my brother’s, for it was his from the LORD.

Most egy kéréssel fordulok hozzád, ne utasíts el! Ő pedig ezt mondta: Beszélj!

Most egy kérést kérek tőled, ne szégyenítsd meg orczámat. Az pedig monda: Beszélj!

And now I ask one petition of thee, deny me not. And she said unto him, Say on.

Acum îţi cer un lucru: nu-ţi întoarce faţa!” Ea i-a răspuns: „Vorbeşte!”

And now I have one request to make of you; do not refuse me.” She said to him, “Speak.”

Erre így szólt: Beszélj, kérlek, Salamon királlyal, mert ő a te kérésedet nem veti meg, hogy adja nekem feleségül a súnémi Abiságot.

És monda: Beszélj, kérlek Salamon királylyal; mert ő a te kérésedet meg nem veti, hogy adja nékem a Súnemből való Abiságot feleségül.

And he said, Speak, I pray thee, unto Solomon the king, (for he will not say thee nay,) that he give me Abishag the Shunammite to wife.

Şi el a zis: „Spune, te rog, împăratului Solomon – căci nu se poate să nu te asculte – să-mi dea de nevastă pe Abişag, sunamita.”

And he said, “Please ask King Solomon—he will not refuse you—to give me Abishag the Shunammite as my wife.”

Betsabé így felelt: Jól van, majd szólok az érdekedben a királynak.

Felele Bethsabé: Jól van, majd szólok melletted a királynak.

And Bathsheba said, Well; I will speak for thee unto the king.

Bat-Şeba a zis: „Bine! Voi vorbi împăratului pentru tine.”

Bathsheba said, “Very well; I will speak for you to the king.”

Azután bement Betsabé Salamon királyhoz, hogy beszéljen vele Adónijjá érdekében. A király fölkelt, elébe ment, meghajolt előtte, és a trónjára ült. Egy széket tétetett oda a király anyjának, hogy üljön a jobb keze felől.

És beméne Bethsabé Salamon királyhoz, hogy beszéljen vele Adónia érdekében; és felkele a király, és elébe menvén meghajtá magát előtte, és leüle királyi székibe; és széket tétete a király anyjának, hogy üljön az ő jobbkeze felől.

Bathsheba therefore went unto king Solomon, to speak unto him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her, and bowed himself unto her, and sat down on his throne, and caused a seat to be set for the king's mother; and she sat on his right hand.

Bat-Şeba s-a dus la împăratul Solomon, să-i vorbească pentru Adonia. Împăratul s-a sculat s-o întâmpine, s-a închinat înaintea ei şi a şezut pe scaunul său de domnie. Au pus un scaun pentru mama împăratului, şi ea a şezut la dreapta lui.

So Bathsheba went to King Solomon to speak to him on behalf of Adonijah. And the king rose to meet her and bowed down to her. Then he sat on his throne and had a seat brought for the king’s mother, and she sat on his right.

Majd ezt mondta Betsabé: Egy kis kéréssel jöttem hozzád, ne utasíts el. A király ezt mondta neki: Kérj csak, édesanyám, nem foglak elutasítani.

Then she said, I desire one small petition of thee; I pray thee, say me not nay. And the king said unto her, Ask on, my mother: for I will not say thee nay.

Apoi a zis: „Am să-ţi fac o mică rugăminte: să mă asculţi!” Şi împăratul i-a zis: „Cere, mamă, căci te voi asculta.”

Then she said, “I have one small request to make of you; do not refuse me.” And the king said to her, “Make your request, my mother, for I will not refuse you.”

Ő azt mondta: Hadd kapja meg feleségül a súnémi Abiságot testvéred, Adónijjá.

Monda ő: Adassék a Súnemből való Abiság Adóniának, a te testvérednek feleségül.

And she said, Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah thy brother to wife.

Ea a zis: „Abişag, sunamita, să fie dată de nevastă fratelui tău Adonia.”

She said, “Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah your brother as his wife.”

Erre ezt kérdezte Salamon király az anyjától: De miért kéred te a súnémi Abiságot Adónijjának? Kérd neki mindjárt az országot is, hisz ő a bátyám, és vele egyetért Ebjátár pap és Jóáb, Cerújá fia.

Akkor felele Salamon király, és monda az ő anyjának: De miért kéred te a Súnembeli Abiságot Adóniának? Kérjed néki az országot is; mert ő az én bátyám, és vele [egyetért] Abjátár pap, és Joáb, a Séruja fia.

And king Solomon answered and said unto his mother, And why dost thou ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? ask for him the kingdom also; for he is mine elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.

Împăratul Solomon a răspuns mamei sale: „Pentru ce ceri numai pe Abişag, sunamita, pentru Adonia? Cere şi împărăţia pentru el – căci este fratele meu mai mare decât mine – pentru el, pentru preotul Abiatar şi pentru Ioab, fiul Ţeruiei.”

King Solomon answered his mother, “And why do you ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? Ask for him the kingdom also, for he is my older brother, and on his side are Abiathar the priest and Joab the son of Zeruiah.”

Erre megesküdött Salamon király az ÚRra, e szavakkal: Úgy cselekedjék velem Isten, és úgy segítsen, hogy Adónijjának életébe kerül ez a beszéd!

És megesküvék Salamon király az Úrra, mondván: Úgy cselekedjék velem az Isten, és úgy segéljen, hogy Adónia a saját élete ellen szólotta ezt a beszédet!

Then king Solomon sware by the LORD, saying, God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah have not spoken this word against his own life.

Atunci împăratul a jurat pe Domnul, zicând: „Să mă pedepsească Dumnezeu cu toată asprimea, dacă nu-l vor costa viaţa pe Adonia cuvintele acestea!

Then King Solomon swore by the LORD, saying, “God do so to me and more also if this word does not cost Adonijah his life!

Most azért él az ÚR, aki megerősített engem, és apámnak, Dávidnak trónjára ültetett, és aki házat szerzett nekem, ahogy megmondta, hogy Adónijjának még ma meg kell halnia!

Most azért él az Úr, a ki megerősített engem és ültetett engem az én atyámnak, Dávidnak királyi székibe, és a ki házat szerzett nékem, a mint megmondotta volt: ma Adóniának meg kell halnia!

Now therefore, as the LORD liveth, which hath established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who hath made me an house, as he promised, Adonijah shall be put to death this day.

Acum, viu este Domnul, care m-a întărit şi m-a suit pe scaunul de domnie al tatălui meu, David, şi care mi-a făcut o casă, după făgăduinţa Lui, că astăzi va muri Adonia!”

Now therefore as the LORD lives, who has established me and placed me on the throne of David my father, and who has made me a house, as he promised, Adonijah shall be put to death today.”

Elküldte azért Salamon király Benáját, Jójádá fiát, aki levágta őt úgy, hogy meghalt.

And king Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell upon him that he died.

Şi împăratul Solomon a trimis pe Benaia, fiul lui Iehoiada, care l-a lovit; şi Adonia a murit.

So King Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and he struck him down, and he died.

Ebjátár papnak pedig azt mondta a király: Menj el Anátótba, a birtokodra, mert halál fia vagy. De ma nem öletlek meg, mert te hordoztad az ÚRnak, Istennek a ládáját apám, Dávid előtt, és mivel apám minden nyomorúságában részes voltál.

Abjátár papnak pedig monda a király: Menj el Anathótba, a te jószágodba, mert halálnak fia vagy; de ma meg nem öletlek, mivel te hordoztad az Úr Istennek ládáját Dávid, az én atyám előtt, és mivel az én atyámnak minden nyomorúságaiban részes voltál.

And unto Abiathar the priest said the king, Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields; for thou art worthy of death: but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou barest the ark of the LORD God before David my father, and because thou hast been afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted.

Împăratul a zis apoi preotului Abiatar: „Du-te la Anatot, la moşiile tale, căci eşti vrednic de moarte; dar nu te voi omorî azi, pentru că ai purtat chivotul Domnului Dumnezeu înaintea tatălui meu, David, şi pentru că ai luat parte la toate suferinţele tatălui meu.”

And to Abiathar the priest the king said, “Go to Anathoth, to your estate, for you deserve death. But I will not at this time put you to death, because you carried the ark of the Lord GOD before David my father, and because you shared in all my father’s affliction.”

És eltávolította Salamon Ebjátárt, és nem lehetett többé az ÚR papja, hogy beteljesedjék az ÚR igéje, amelyet Éli házáról mondott Silóban.

So Solomon thrust out Abiathar from being priest unto the LORD; that he might fulfil the word of the LORD, which he spake concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh.

Astfel Solomon a scos pe Abiatar din slujba de preot al Domnului, ca să împlinească cuvântul rostit de Domnul asupra casei lui Eli, în Silo.

So Solomon expelled Abiathar from being priest to the LORD, thus fulfilling the word of the LORD that he had spoken concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh.

Then tidings came to Joab: for Joab had turned after Adonijah, though he turned not after Absalom. And Joab fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.

Vestea aceasta a ajuns până la Ioab, care luase partea lui Adonia, măcar că nu luase partea lui Absalom. Şi Ioab a fugit la Cortul Domnului şi s-a apucat de coarnele altarului.

When the news came to Joab—for Joab had supported Adonijah although he had not supported Absalom—Joab fled to the tent of the LORD and caught hold of the horns of the altar.

Amikor hírül adták Salamon királynak, hogy Jóáb az ÚR sátrához futott, és ott az oltár mellett áll, elküldte Salamon Benáját, Jójádá fiát, és ezt mondta neki: Menj el, és vágd le őt!

Hírül adák pedig Salamon királynak, hogy Joáb az Úrnak sátorához futott, és ímé az oltár mellett áll. Ekkor elküldé Salamon Benáját, a Jójada fiát, mondván: Menj el, vágd le őt.

And it was told king Solomon that Joab was fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD; and, behold, he is by the altar. Then Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying, Go, fall upon him.

Au dat de ştire împăratului Solomon că Ioab a fugit la Cortul Domnului şi că este la altar. Şi Solomon a trimis pe Benaia, fiul lui Iehoiada, zicându-i: „Du-te şi loveşte-l!”

And when it was told King Solomon, “Joab has fled to the tent of the LORD, and behold, he is beside the altar,” Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying, “Go, strike him down.”

Mikor pedig Benájá az ÚR sátrához ért, azt mondta neki: Ezt mondja a király: Jöjj ki! Jóáb így felelt neki: Nem megyek, itt akarok meghalni! Benájá megvitte a királynak a választ e szavakkal: Így szólt Jóáb, és így felelt nekem.

Mikor pedig Benája az Úrnak sátorához ért, monda néki: Ezt mondja a király: Jőjj ki. Kinek felele [Joáb]: Nem, itt akarok meghalni. És megvivé Benája a királynak e dolgot, mondván: Így szólott Joáb és így felelt nékem.

And Benaiah came to the tabernacle of the LORD, and said unto him, Thus saith the king, Come forth. And he said, Nay; but I will die here. And Benaiah brought the king word again, saying, Thus said Joab, and thus he answered me.

So Benaiah came to the tent of the LORD and said to him, “The king commands, ‘Come out.’” But he said, “No, I will die here.” Then Benaiah brought the king word again, saying, “Thus said Joab, and thus he answered me.”

A király ezt mondta neki: Cselekedjél úgy, ahogy mondta; vágd le őt és temesd el, hogy elvedd rólam és apám házáról a Jóáb által ártatlanul kiontott vért.

And the king said unto him, Do as he hath said, and fall upon him, and bury him; that thou mayest take away the innocent blood, which Joab shed, from me, and from the house of my father.

És fordítsa az ÚR az ő fejére a vért, amiért két magánál igazabb és jobb férfira támadt, és megölte őket fegyverrel apámnak, Dávidnak a tudta nélkül: Abnért, Nér fiát, Izráel seregének fővezérét és Amászát, Jeter fiát, Júda harcosainak fővezérét.

És fordítsa az Úr az ő fejére az ő vérét, a miért nálánál igazabb és jobb két férfira támadott, és megölé őket fegyverrel az én atyámnak, Dávidnak tudta nélkül, [tudniillik] Abnert, Nérnek fiát, az Izráel seregének fővezérét és Amasát, Jéternek fiát, Júda vitézeinek fővezérét.

And the LORD shall return his blood upon his own head, who fell upon two men more righteous and better than he, and slew them with the sword, my father David not knowing thereof, to wit, Abner the son of Ner, captain of the host of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, captain of the host of Judah.

Domnul va face ca sângele lui să cadă asupra capului lui, pentru că a lovit pe doi bărbaţi mai drepţi şi mai buni decât el şi i-a ucis cu sabia, fără să fi ştiut tatăl meu, David: pe Abner, fiul lui Ner, căpetenia oştirii lui Israel, şi pe Amasa, fiul lui Ieter, căpetenia oştirii lui Iuda.

The LORD will bring back his bloody deeds on his own head, because, without the knowledge of my father David, he attacked and killed with the sword two men more righteous and better than himself, Abner the son of Ner, commander of the army of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, commander of the army of Judah.

Ezeknek a vére szálljon Jóáb fejére és az ő magvának a fejére mindörökké. Dávidnak és az ő magvának, az ő házának és trónjának pedig békessége legyen az ÚRtól mindörökké!

Their blood shall therefore return upon the head of Joab, and upon the head of his seed for ever: but upon David, and upon his seed, and upon his house, and upon his throne, shall there be peace for ever from the LORD.

Sângele lor să cadă peste capul lui Ioab şi peste capul urmaşilor lui pentru totdeauna; dar David, sămânţa lui, casa lui şi scaunul lui de domnie, să aibă parte de pace pe vecie din partea Domnului.”

So shall their blood come back on the head of Joab and on the head of his descendants forever. But for David and for his descendants and for his house and for his throne there shall be peace from the LORD forevermore.”

Elment tehát Benájá, Jójádá fia, rárohant, és megölte őt. Házában, a pusztában temették el.

So Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up, and fell upon him, and slew him: and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.

Then Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up and struck him down and put him to death. And he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.

And the king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his room over the host: and Zadok the priest did the king put in the room of Abiathar.

Împăratul a pus în fruntea oştirii pe Benaia, fiul lui Iehoiada, în locul lui Ioab, iar în locul lui Abiatar a pus pe preotul Ţadoc.

The king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada over the army in place of Joab, and the king put Zadok the priest in the place of Abiathar.

Majd elküldött a király, és magához hívatta Simeit, és azt mondta neki: Építs házat magadnak Jeruzsálemben, és ott lakjál! Ne menj ki onnan sehova.

És elkülde a király, és magához hivatá Sémeit, és monda néki: Építs házat magadnak Jeruzsálemben és lakjál ott; és onnét ne menj ki se ide, se tova.

And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, Build thee an house in Jerusalem, and dwell there, and go not forth thence any whither.

Împăratul a chemat pe Şimei şi i-a zis: „Zideşte-ţi o casă la Ierusalim: să locuieşti în ea şi să nu ieşi din ea ca să te duci într-o parte sau alta.

Then the king sent and summoned Shimei and said to him, “Build yourself a house in Jerusalem and dwell there, and do not go out from there to any place whatever.

Mert amelyik nap kimész, és átmész a Kidrón-patakon, tudd meg, hogy meg kell halnod, és véred a saját fejedre száll.

Mert valamely nap kimenéndesz, és általmenéndesz a Kidron patakján, tudd meg, hogy meg kell halnod, a te véred lészen tennen fejeden.

For it shall be, that on the day thou goest out, and passest over the brook Kidron, thou shalt know for certain that thou shalt surely die: thy blood shall be upon thine own head.

Să ştii bine că în ziua când vei ieşi şi vei trece pârâul Chedron, vei muri. Atunci sângele tău va cădea asupra capului tău.

For on the day you go out and cross the brook Kidron, know for certain that you shall die. Your blood shall be on your own head.”

Simei ezt felelte a királynak: Jól van. Úgy tesz a szolgád, ahogy uram, a király parancsolja. És sokáig Jeruzsálemben lakott Simei.

És monda Sémei a királynak: Tetszik nékem e beszéd; a miképen szólott az én uram, a király, a képen cselekeszik a te szolgád; és sok ideig lakék Sémei Jeruzsálemben.

And Shimei said unto the king, The saying is good: as my lord the king hath said, so will thy servant do. And Shimei dwelt in Jerusalem many days.

Şimei a răspuns împăratului: „Bine! Robul tău va face cum spune domnul meu, împăratul.” Şi Şimei a locuit multă vreme la Ierusalim.

And Shimei said to the king, “What you say is good; as my lord the king has said, so will your servant do.” So Shimei lived in Jerusalem many days.

De három esztendő múlva Simei két szolgája elszökött Ákishoz, Maaká fiához, Gát királyához. Hírt hoztak Simeinek: Íme, szolgáid Gátban vannak!

Lőn azonban három esztendő mulva, hogy Sémeinek két szolgája elszökött Ákishoz, Maaka fiához, a Gáthbeli királyhoz; és hírül adák Sémeinek, mondván: Ímé a te szolgáid Gáthban [vannak].

And it came to pass at the end of three years, that two of the servants of Shimei ran away unto Achish son of Maachah king of Gath. And they told Shimei, saying, Behold, thy servants be in Gath.

După trei ani, s-a întâmplat că doi slujitori ai lui Şimei au fugit la Achiş, fiul lui Maaca, împăratul Gatului. Au dat de ştire lui Şimei, zicând: „Iată că slujitorii tăi sunt la Gat.”

But it happened at the end of three years that two of Shimei’s servants ran away to Achish, son of Maacah, king of Gath. And when it was told Shimei, “Behold, your servants are in Gath,”

Ekkor elindult Simei, fölnyergelte szamarát, és elment Gátba Ákishoz, hogy megkeresse a szolgáit. Odament Simei, és visszahozta a szolgáit Gátból.

And Shimei arose, and saddled his ass, and went to Gath to Achish to seek his servants: and Shimei went, and brought his servants from Gath.

Shimei arose and saddled a donkey and went to Gath to Achish to seek his servants. Shimei went and brought his servants from Gath.

And it was told Solomon that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath, and was come again.

And when Solomon was told that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath and returned,

Ekkor elküldött érte a király, magához hívatta Simeit, és ezt mondta neki: Nem eskettelek-e meg az ÚRra, és nem tettem-e bizonyságot e szavakkal: „Amely napon kimész, és bárhova mész, bizony tudjad, hogy meg kell halnod!”? Azt mondtad nekem: „Jól van, megértettem.”

Akkor elkülde a király, és magához hivatá Sémeit, és monda néki: Nemde esküvéssel kényszerítettelek-é téged az Úrra, és bizonyságot tettem néked, ezt mondván: Valamely napon kimenéndesz, s ide s tova menéndesz, bizonynyal tudjad, hogy meghalsz; és azt mondád nékem: Tetszik e beszéd, megértettem.

And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, Did I not make thee to swear by the LORD, and protested unto thee, saying, Know for a certain, on the day thou goest out, and walkest abroad any whither, that thou shalt surely die? and thou saidst unto me, The word that I have heard is good.

Împăratul a chemat pe Şimei şi i-a zis: „Nu te-am pus eu să juri pe Domnul şi nu ţi-am spus eu hotărât: „Să ştii că vei muri în ziua când vei ieşi să te duci într-o parte sau alta”? Şi nu mi-ai răspuns tu: „Bine! Am înţeles”?

the king sent and summoned Shimei and said to him, “Did I not make you swear by the LORD and solemnly warn you, saying, ‘Know for certain that on the day you go out and go to any place whatever, you shall die’? And you said to me, ‘What you say is good; I will obey.’

Miért nem tartottad meg az ÚR előtt tett esküdet és a parancsot, amelyet neked parancsoltam?

Miért nem tartottad hát meg az Úr előtt való esküvést, és a parancsolatot, a melyet néked parancsoltam?

Why then hast thou not kept the oath of the LORD, and the commandment that I have charged thee with?

Pentru ce atunci n-ai ascultat de jurământul Domnului şi de porunca pe care ţi-o dădusem?”

Why then have you not kept your oath to the LORD and the commandment with which I commanded you?”

Majd ezt mondta a király Simeinek: Tudod te mindazt a gonoszságot, amelyről a szíved is tanúskodik, és amelyet apámmal, Dáviddal cselekedtél. Az ÚR most mindazt a gonoszságot saját fejedre fordította.

Monda annakfelette a király Sémeinek: Te tudod mindazt a gonoszságot, a melyről a te szíved bizonyság, és a melyet atyámmal Dáviddal cselekedtél: az Úr most mindazt a gonoszságot a saját fejedre fordította.

The king said moreover to Shimei, Thou knowest all the wickedness which thine heart is privy to, that thou didst to David my father: therefore the LORD shall return thy wickedness upon thine own head;

Şi împăratul a zis lui Şimei: „Ştii înăuntrul inimii tale tot răul pe care l-ai făcut tatălui meu, David; Domnul a întors răutatea ta asupra capului tău.

The king also said to Shimei, “You know in your own heart all the harm that you did to David my father. So the LORD will bring back your harm on your own head.

Salamon király pedig áldott lesz, és Dávid trónja szilárdan fog állni az ÚR előtt mindörökké.

Salamon király pedig áldott lészen, és Dávidnak királyi széke lészen állandó az Úr előtt mindörökké.

And king Solomon shall be blessed, and the throne of David shall be established before the LORD for ever.

Dar împăratul Solomon va fi binecuvântat, şi scaunul de domnie al lui David va fi întărit pe vecie înaintea Domnului.”

But King Solomon shall be blessed, and the throne of David shall be established before the LORD forever.”

És parancsot adott a király Benájának, Jójádá fiának, az pedig elment, levágta Simeit, és az meghalt. Az ország pedig megerősödött Salamon kezében.

És parancsola a király Benájának, a Jójada fiának, a ki elméne, és levágá [Sémeit], és meghala. És az ország megerősödék Salamon kezében.

So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; which went out, and fell upon him, that he died. And the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon.

Şi împăratul a poruncit lui Benaia, fiul lui Iehoiada, care a ieşit şi a lovit pe Şimei; şi Şimei a murit. Astfel, împărăţia s-a întărit în mâinile lui Solomon.

Then the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and he went out and struck him down, and he died. So the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon.
