És Benhadad, Arám királya összegyűjtötte egész seregét. Harminckét király volt vele nagyon sok lóval és harci szekérrel. Fölment, körülzárta Samáriát és ostromolni kezdte.

És Benhadád, Siria királya összegyűjté egész seregét, és harminczkét király volt ő vele és [nagyon sok] ló és szekér, és felméne és megszállá Samariát, és ostromolni [kezdte] azt.

And Benhadad the king of Syria gathered all his host together: and there were thirty and two kings with him, and horses, and chariots; and he went up and besieged Samaria, and warred against it.

Ben-Hadad, împăratul Siriei, şi-a strâns toată oştirea: avea cu el treizeci şi doi de împăraţi, cai şi care. S-a suit, a împresurat Samaria şi a început lupta împotriva ei.

Ben-hadad the king of Syria gathered all his army together. Thirty-two kings were with him, and horses and chariots. And he went up and closed in on Samaria and fought against it.

And he sent messengers to Ahab king of Israel into the city, and said unto him, Thus saith Benhadad,

And he sent messengers into the city to Ahab king of Israel and said to him, “Thus says Ben-hadad:

és azt üzente neki: Így szól Benhadad: A te ezüstöd és aranyad az enyém, a te feleségeid is és a te szép fiaid is az enyéimek!

És azt izené néki: Azt mondja Benhadád: A te ezüstöd és aranyad az enyém, a te feleségeid is és a te szép fiaid is az enyémek.

Thy silver and thy gold is mine; thy wives also and thy children, even the goodliest, are mine.

„Argintul şi aurul tău sunt ale mele, nevestele şi cei mai frumoşi copii ai tăi sunt tot ai mei.”

‘Your silver and your gold are mine; your best wives and children also are mine.’”

Izráel királya így felelt: Ahogy mondod, uram, király, tied vagyok, és tied mindenem.

És felele az Izráel királya, és monda: A mint megmondottad uram, király, tiéd vagyok mindenekkel, a melyeket bírok.

And the king of Israel answered and said, My lord, O king, according to thy saying, I am thine, and all that I have.

Împăratul lui Israel a răspuns: „Împărate, domnul meu, fie cum zici! Sunt al tău cu tot ce am.”

And the king of Israel answered, “As you say, my lord, O king, I am yours, and all that I have.”

Amikor a követek újból visszatértek, azt mondták: Így szól Benhadad: Már hozzád küldöttem, és üzentem, hogy ezüstödet és aranyadat, feleségeidet és fiaidat add nekem.

Megtérvén pedig a követek, mondának: Azt mondja Benhadád: Miután hozzád küldöttem, és azt izentem, hogy a te ezüstödet és aranyadat és a te feleségeidet és fiaidat add nékem;

And the messengers came again, and said, Thus speaketh Benhadad, saying, Although I have sent unto thee, saying, Thou shalt deliver me thy silver, and thy gold, and thy wives, and thy children;

Solii s-au întors şi au zis: „Aşa vorbeşte Ben-Hadad: „Am trimis să-ţi spună: „Să-mi dai argintul şi aurul tău, nevestele şi copiii tăi.”

The messengers came again and said, “Thus says Ben-hadad: ‘I sent to you, saying, “Deliver to me your silver and your gold, your wives and your children.”

Ezért holnap ilyenkor elküldöm hozzád a szolgáimat, és fölkutatják palotádat és szolgáid házait, és mindazt, ami csak kedves neked, magukhoz veszik és elhozzák.

Azért holnap ilyenkor elküldöm az én szolgáimat hozzád, és felkutatják a te házadat, és a te szolgáid házait; és kezekhez veszik, a mi csak kedves előtted, és elhozzák.

Yet I will send my servants unto thee to morrow about this time, and they shall search thine house, and the houses of thy servants; and it shall be, that whatsoever is pleasant in thine eyes, they shall put it in their hand, and take it away.

De aceea, voi trimite mâine, la ceasul acesta, pe slujitorii mei la tine. Ei îţi vor scormoni casa ta şi casele slujitorilor tăi, vor pune mâna pe tot ce ai mai scump şi vor lua.”

Nevertheless I will send my servants to you tomorrow about this time, and they shall search your house and the houses of your servants and lay hands on whatever pleases you and take it away.’”

Akkor összehívta Izráel királya az ország véneit, és azt mondta: Értsétek és lássátok meg, hogy milyen gonosz szándékkal van ez, pedig mikor elküldött hozzám a feleségeimért és fiaimért, ezüstömért és aranyamért, nem tagadtam meg tőle.

Akkor egybehívá az Izráel királya mind az ország véneit, és monda: Vegyétek eszetekbe, és lássátok meg, minemű gonosz szándékkal van ez; mert hozzám küldött az én feleségeimért és gyermekeimért, ezüstömért és aranyomért, és meg nem tagadtam tőle.

Then the king of Israel called all the elders of the land, and said, Mark, I pray you, and see how this man seeketh mischief: for he sent unto me for my wives, and for my children, and for my silver, and for my gold; and I denied him not.

Împăratul lui Israel a chemat pe toţi bătrânii ţării şi a zis: „Vedeţi bine şi înţelegeţi că omul acesta ne vrea răul; căci a trimis să-mi ceară nevestele şi copiii, argintul şi aurul, şi n-am zis că nu i le dau!”

Then the king of Israel called all the elders of the land and said, “Mark, now, and see how this man is seeking trouble, for he sent to me for my wives and my children, and for my silver and my gold, and I did not refuse him.”

A vének mindnyájan és az egész nép azt mondta neki: Ne engedj neki, és ne teljesítsd az akaratát!

És mondának néki a vének mindnyájan, és az egész nép: Ne engedj néki, és az ő akaratját be ne teljesítsd.

And all the elders and all the people said unto him, Hearken not unto him, nor consent.

Toţi bătrânii şi tot poporul au zis lui Ahab: „Nu-l asculta şi nu te învoi.”

And all the elders and all the people said to him, “Do not listen or consent.”

Erre ő azt mondta Benhadad követeinek: Mondjátok meg uramnak, a királynak: Mindazt, ami felől először üzentél szolgádnak, megteszem, de ezt a másik dolgot nem tehetem meg. Így hát elmentek a követek, és megvitték a választ.

És ő monda a Benhadád követeinek: Mondjátok meg az én uramnak, a királynak: Mindazokat, a melyek felől először izentél a te szolgádnak, megcselekszem, de ezt a dolgot nem tehetem meg. Így elmenvén a követek, megmondák néki a választ.

Wherefore he said unto the messengers of Benhadad, Tell my lord the king, All that thou didst send for to thy servant at the first I will do: but this thing I may not do. And the messengers departed, and brought him word again.

Şi el a zis solilor lui Ben-Hadad: „Spuneţi domnului meu, împăratul: „Voi face tot ce ai trimis să ceri robului tău întâia dată; dar lucrul acesta nu-l pot face.” Solii au plecat şi i-au dus răspunsul.

So he said to the messengers of Ben-hadad, “Tell my lord the king, ‘All that you first demanded of your servant I will do, but this thing I cannot do.’” And the messengers departed and brought him word again.

Akkor Benhadad ezt az üzenetet küldte neki: Úgy bánjanak velem az istenek, és úgy segítsenek, hogy Samáriának porából még csak egy-egy marokkal sem fog jutni az utánam jövő hadaknak!

Akkor hozzá külde Benhadád, és monda: Úgy cselekedjenek velem az istenek és úgy segéljenek, hogy Samariának minden pora sem elég, hogy a velem való nép közül mindeniknek csak egy-egy marokkal is jusson!

And Benhadad sent unto him, and said, The gods do so unto me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people that follow me.

Ben-Hadad a trimis să spună lui Ahab: „Să mă pedepsească zeii cu toată asprimea lor, de va ajunge praful Samariei să umple mâna întregului popor care mă urmează!”

Ben-hadad sent to him and said, “The gods do so to me and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people who follow me.”

Izráel királya így felelt: Mondjátok meg neki, hogy ne kérkedjék úgy, aki fegyverbe öltözik, mintha már lecsatolta volna!

És felele az Izráel királya, mondván: Mondjátok meg [néki]: Ne kérkedjék úgy, a ki fegyverbe öltözik, mint a ki már leveti a fegyvert!

And the king of Israel answered and said, Tell him, Let not him that girdeth on his harness boast himself as he that putteth it off.

Şi împăratul lui Israel a răspuns: „Cine încinge armele să nu se laude ca cel ce le pune jos!”

And the king of Israel answered, “Tell him, ‘Let not him who straps on his armor boast himself as he who takes it off.’”

Amint ezt a választ meghallotta Benhadad, amikor ivott a királyokkal a sátrakban, azt mondta a szolgáinak: Készüljetek a város ellen! Erre felkészültek.

Meghallván pedig ezt a választ, mikor ő ivott a királyokkal a sátorokban, monda az ő szolgáinak: Vegyétek körül a várost! És azok körülvevék azt.

And it came to pass, when Ben-hadad heard this message, as he was drinking, he and the kings in the pavilions, that he said unto his servants, Set yourselves in array. And they set themselves in array against the city.

Când a primit Ben-Hadad răspunsul acesta, stătea la băut cu împăraţii în corturi şi a zis slujitorilor lui: „Pregătiţi-vă!” Şi ei s-au pregătit de năvală împotriva cetăţii.

When Ben-hadad heard this message as he was drinking with the kings in the booths, he said to his men, “Take your positions.” And they took their positions against the city.

És íme, egy próféta lépett Aháb, Izráel királya elé, és így szólt: Azt mondja az ÚR: Látod-e mindezt a nagy sokaságot? Íme, a mai napon a kezedbe adom azt, hogy megtudd, hogy én vagyok az ÚR!

És ímé egy próféta méne Akhábhoz, az Izráel királyához, a ki ezt mondá: Azt mondja az Úr: Avagy nem láttad-é mindezt a nagy sokaságot: ímé e mai napon kezedbe adom azt, hogy megtudjad, hogy én vagyok az Úr!

And, behold, there came a prophet unto Ahab king of Israel, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou seen all this great multitude? behold, I will deliver it into thine hand this day; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.

Dar iată că un proroc s-a apropiat de Ahab, împăratul lui Israel, şi a zis: „Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: „Vezi toată această mulţime mare? O voi da astăzi în mâinile tale, ca să cunoşti că Eu sunt Domnul.”

And behold, a prophet came near to Ahab king of Israel and said, “Thus says the LORD, Have you seen all this great multitude? Behold, I will give it into your hand this day, and you shall know that I am the LORD.”

Aháb azt kérdezte: Kik által? Ő így felelt: Azt mondja az ÚR: A tartományok fejedelmeinek ifjai által. Akkor ezt mondta Aháb: Ki kezdje meg a harcot? Ő így felelt: Te!

Monda pedig Akháb: Ki által? És felele: Azt mondja az Úr: A tartományok fejedelmeinek ifjai által. Akkor monda [Akháb:] Ki kezdje meg a harczot? És felele: Te!

And Ahab said, By whom? And he said, Thus saith the LORD, Even by the young men of the princes of the provinces. Then he said, Who shall order the battle? And he answered, Thou.

Ahab a zis: „Prin cine?” Şi el a răspuns: „Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: „Prin slujitorii mai marilor peste ţinuturi.” Ahab a zis: „Cine va începe lupta?” Şi el a răspuns: „Tu.”

And Ahab said, “By whom?” He said, “Thus says the LORD, By the servants of the governors of the districts.” Then he said, “Who shall begin the battle?” He answered, “You.”

Megszámlálta azért a tartományok fejedelmeinek ifjait, akik kétszázharmincketten voltak. Ezután megszámlálta az egész hadinépet is: az összes izráeli hétezer ember volt.

Megszámlálá azért a tartományok fejedelmeinek ifjait, a kik kétszázharminczketten voltak; ezekután megszámlálá mind az Izráel fiainak is minden népét, hétezer embert.

Then he numbered the young men of the princes of the provinces, and they were two hundred and thirty two: and after them he numbered all the people, even all the children of Israel, being seven thousand.

Atunci Ahab a numărat slujitorii mai marilor peste ţinuturi şi s-au găsit două sute treizeci şi doi; şi după ei, a numărat tot poporul, pe toţi copiii lui Israel, şi erau şapte mii.

Then he mustered the servants of the governors of the districts, and they were 232. And after them he mustered all the people of Israel, seven thousand.

És délben elindultak. Benhadad pedig ott ivott a királyokkal a sátrakban, és lerészegedett ő és a harminckét király, aki a segítségére jött.

És elindulának délben. Benhadád pedig ott ivott a királyokkal a sátorokban, és lerészegedett ő és a harminczkét király, a ki segítségére jött vele.

And they went out at noon. But Benhadad was drinking himself drunk in the pavilions, he and the kings, the thirty and two kings that helped him.

Au făcut o ieşire pe la miazăzi. Ben-Hadad bea şi se îmbăta în corturile lui cu cei treizeci şi doi de împăraţi care-l ajutau.

And they went out at noon, while Ben-hadad was drinking himself drunk in the booths, he and the thirty-two kings who helped him.

Legelőször a tartományok fejedelmeinek ifjai vonultak ki. Benhadad pedig embereket küldött oda, akik jelentették neki: Valami férfiak vonultak ki Samáriából!

És a tartományok fejedelmeinek ifjai vonultak ki legelőször. Benhadád pedig elkülde, és megmondották néki, ezt mondván: Valami férfiak jöttek ki Samariából!

And the young men of the princes of the provinces went out first; and Benhadad sent out, and they told him, saying, There are men come out of Samaria.

Slujitorii mai marilor peste ţinuturi au ieşit cei dintâi. Ben-Hadad a cercetat, şi i-au spus astfel: „Au ieşit nişte oameni din Samaria.”

The servants of the governors of the districts went out first. And Ben-hadad sent out scouts, and they reported to him, “Men are coming out from Samaria.”

Erre azt mondta: Akár békés szándékkal jöttek, akár harcolni, élve fogjátok el őket!

És monda: Akár békességért jöttek ki, fogjátok meg őket elevenen; akár viadalért jöttek ki, fogjátok el őket elevenen.

And he said, Whether they be come out for peace, take them alive; or whether they be come out for war, take them alive.

El a zis: „Dacă ies pentru pace, prindeţi-i vii; şi chiar dacă ies pentru luptă, prindeţi-i vii.”

He said, “If they have come out for peace, take them alive. Or if they have come out for war, take them alive.”

Kivonultak tehát a városból a tartományok fejedelmeinek ifjai és a sereg, amely őket követte.

De mikor kivonultak a városból a tartományok fejedelmeinek ifjai és a sereg, a mely őket követte:

So these young men of the princes of the provinces came out of the city, and the army which followed them.

Când au ieşit din cetate slujitorii mai marilor peste ţinuturi şi armata care-i urma,

So these went out of the city, the servants of the governors of the districts and the army that followed them.

Mindenki levágta az ellenfelét, aki eléje került, és megfutamodott Arám, Izráel pedig üldözőbe vette őket. Maga Benhadad, Arám királya is megfutamodott lóháton a lovasokkal együtt.

Mindenik vágni kezdte azt, a ki eléje került, és elfutottak a Siriabeliek, az Izráel pedig kergette őket, és megfutott maga Benhadád, Siria királya [is] lovon a lovagokkal együtt.

And they slew every one his man: and the Syrians fled; and Israel pursued them: and Benhadad the king of Syria escaped on an horse with the horsemen.

a lovit fiecare pe omul dinaintea lui, şi sirienii au luat-o la fugă. Israel i-a urmărit. Ben-Hadad, împăratul Siriei, a scăpat pe un cal, cu nişte călăreţi.

And each struck down his man. The Syrians fled, and Israel pursued them, but Ben-hadad king of Syria escaped on a horse with horsemen.

Azután kivonult Izráel királya, és vágta a lovasokat és a harci szekereket, és nagy csapást mért Arámra.

És azután kivonult az Izráel királya, és megveré mind a lovagokat, mind a szekereket, és megveré a Siriabelieket nagy csapással.

And the king of Israel went out, and smote the horses and chariots, and slew the Syrians with a great slaughter.

And the king of Israel went out and struck the horses and chariots, and struck the Syrians with a great blow.

Akkor odament Izráel királyához egy próféta, és ezt mondta neki: Menj el, erősítsd meg magad, gondold meg és lásd meg, mit kell cselekedned, mert egy év múlva ismét ellened vonul Arám királya.

És méne az Izráel királyához [egy] próféta, és ezt mondá néki: Menj el, erősítsd meg magad, és vedd eszedbe és lásd meg, mit kelljen cselekedned, mert esztendő mulva [ismét] feljő Siria királya ellened.

And the prophet came to the king of Israel, and said unto him, Go, strengthen thyself, and mark, and see what thou doest: for at the return of the year the king of Syria will come up against thee.

Atunci prorocul s-a apropiat de împăratul lui Israel şi i-a zis: „Du-te, întăreşte-te, cercetează şi vezi ce ai de făcut; căci, la anul viitor, împăratul Siriei se va sui din nou împotriva ta.”

Then the prophet came near to the king of Israel and said to him, “Come, strengthen yourself, and consider well what you have to do, for in the spring the king of Syria will come up against you.”

Arám királyának pedig ezt mondták szolgái: A hegyek istenei az ő isteneik, azért győztek le minket. De vívjunk csak meg velük a síkságon, és meglátod, hogy legyőzzük őket!

A siriabeli király szolgái pedig mondának néki: A hegyeknek istenei az ő isteneik, azért győztek le bennünket; de vívjunk csak meg velök a síkon, és meglátod, ha le nem győzzük-é őket?

And the servants of the king of Syria said unto him, Their gods are gods of the hills; therefore they were stronger than we; but let us fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they.

Slujitorii împăratului Siriei i-au zis: „Dumnezeul lor este un Dumnezeu al munţilor; de aceea au fost mai tari decât noi. Dar ia să ne luptăm cu ei în câmpie, şi se va vedea dacă nu vom fi mai tari decât ei.

And the servants of the king of Syria said to him, “Their gods are gods of the hills, and so they were stronger than we. But let us fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they.

Tedd ezt: távolítsd el az összes királyt, és állíts helytartókat a helyükre.

És tedd ezt: Küldd el a királyokat, mindeniket a maga helyéről; és állíts hadnagyokat helyettök,

And do this thing, Take the kings away, every man out of his place, and put captains in their rooms:

Fă şi lucrul acesta: scoate pe fiecare din împăraţi de la locul lui şi înlocuieşte-i cu căpetenii;

And do this: remove the kings, each from his post, and put commanders in their places,

Szervezz magadnak olyan sereget, mint amilyen az volt, amelyet elvesztettél, és olyan lovakat és szekereket, amilyenek azok voltak. Vívjunk meg velük a síkságon, és meglátod, hogy legyőzzük őket! Ekkor engedett a szavuknak, és úgy cselekedett.

És szervezz magadnak olyan sereget, mint az volt, a melyet elvesztettél, és olyan lovakat és szekereket, mint amazok voltak; és vívjunk meg velök a síkon, és meglátod, ha le nem győzzük-é őket? És engede az ő szavoknak, és akképen cselekedék.

And number thee an army, like the army that thou hast lost, horse for horse, and chariot for chariot: and we will fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they. And he hearkened unto their voice, and did so.

şi fă-ţi o armată ca aceea pe care ai pierdut-o, cu tot atâţia cai şi tot atâtea care. Apoi să ne batem cu ei în câmpie, şi se va vedea dacă nu vom fi mai tari decât ei.” El i-a ascultat şi a făcut aşa.

and muster an army like the army that you have lost, horse for horse, and chariot for chariot. Then we will fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they.” And he listened to their voice and did so.

Amikor azért elmúlt az egy év, Benhadad számba vette az arámokat, és feljött Áfékba, hogy Izráel ellen harcoljon.

Mikor azért az esztendő elmult, rendbeszedte Benhadád a Siriabelieket, és feljöve Afekbe, hogy hadakozzék az Izráel ellen.

And it came to pass at the return of the year, that Benhadad numbered the Syrians, and went up to Aphek, to fight against Israel.

In the spring, Ben-hadad mustered the Syrians and went up to Aphek to fight against Israel.

Izráel fiait pedig összeszámlálták, ellátták élelemmel, és elindultak az arámok ellen. Amikor táborba szálltak Izráel fiai, olyanok voltak azokhoz képest, mint két kis kecskenyájacska, az arámok viszont ellepték a földet.

De az Izráel fiai összeszámláltattak és elláttattak élelemmel, és eleikbe menének azoknak. Táborba szállván pedig az Izráel fiai, amazokhoz képest olyanok [voltak,] mint két kicsiny kecskenyájacska; míg a Siriabeliek ellepték a földet.

And the children of Israel were numbered, and were all present, and went against them: and the children of Israel pitched before them like two little flocks of kids; but the Syrians filled the country.

Copiii lui Israel au fost număraţi şi ei; au primit merinde şi au ieşit în întâmpinarea sirienilor. Au tăbărât în faţa lor, ca două turme mici de capre, pe când sirienii umpleau ţara.

And the people of Israel were mustered and were provisioned and went against them. The people of Israel encamped before them like two little flocks of goats, but the Syrians filled the country.

Akkor odajött Istennek egy embere, és azt mondta Izráel királyának: Azt mondja az ÚR: Azért, mert az arámok azt mondták, hogy csak a hegyek Istene az ÚR, de a völgyeknek nem Istene, mindezt a nagy sokaságot a kezedbe adom, hogy megismerjétek, hogy én vagyok az ÚR.

Jött vala pedig egy Isten embere, és szóla az Izráel királyának, mondván: Azt mondja az Úr: Azért mert a Siriabeliek azt mondották, hogy csak a hegyeknek Istene az Úr, és nem a völgyeknek Istene is: mindezt a nagy sokaságot a te kezedbe adom, hogy megismerjétek, hogy én vagyok az Úr.

And there came a man of God, and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith the LORD, Because the Syrians have said, The LORD is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

Omul lui Dumnezeu s-a apropiat şi a zis împăratului lui Israel: „Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: „Pentru că sirienii au zis: „Domnul este un Dumnezeu al munţilor, şi nu un Dumnezeu al văilor”, voi da toată această mare mulţime în mâinile tale, şi veţi şti că Eu sunt Domnul.”

And a man of God came near and said to the king of Israel, “Thus says the LORD, ‘Because the Syrians have said, “The LORD is a god of the hills but he is not a god of the valleys,” therefore I will give all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am the LORD.’”

Így ott táboroztak egészen velük szemben hetednapig. A hetedik napon azután megütköztek, és Izráel fiai levágtak egy nap százezer arám gyalogost.

És ott táboroztak egészen velök szemben hetednapig. A hetedik napon azután megütköztek, és az Izráel fiai levágtak a Siriabeliek közül egy nap százezer gyalogost.

And they pitched one over against the other seven days. And so it was, that in the seventh day the battle was joined: and the children of Israel slew of the Syrians an hundred thousand footmen in one day.

Au stat tăbărâţi şapte zile unii în faţa altora. În ziua a şaptea au început lupta, şi copiii lui Israel au omorât sirienilor o sută de mii de oameni pedeştri într-o zi.

And they encamped opposite one another seven days. Then on the seventh day the battle was joined. And the people of Israel struck down of the Syrians 100,000 foot soldiers in one day.

But the rest fled to Aphek, into the city; and there a wall fell upon twenty and seven thousand of the men that were left. And Benhadad fled, and came into the city, into an inner chamber.

A szolgái ezt mondták neki: Íme, hallottuk, hogy Izráel házának királyai kegyelmes királyok, azért hadd öltözzünk zsákruhába, hadd vessünk kötelet a nyakunkba, és menjünk ki Izráel királya elé, talán életben hagyja lelkedet.

And his servants said unto him, Behold now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings: let us, I pray thee, put sackcloth on our loins, and ropes upon our heads, and go out to the king of Israel: peradventure he will save thy life.

Slujitorii lui i-au zis: „Iată, am auzit că împăraţii casei lui Israel sunt nişte împăraţi miloşi; să ne încingem deci coapsele cu saci, să ne punem funii pe capetele noastre şi să ieşim la împăratul lui Israel: poate că te va lăsa cu viaţă.”

And his servants said to him, “Behold now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings. Let us put sackcloth around our waists and ropes on our heads and go out to the king of Israel. Perhaps he will spare your life.”

És zsákruhákba öltöztek, kötelet vetettek a nyakukba, elmentek Izráel királyához, és azt mondták: Szolgád, Benhadad, azt mondja: Kérlek, hagyd életben a lelkemet! Ő megkérdezte: Hát él még? Testvérem ő!

És zsákokba öltözének, és köteleket vetének nyakokba, és elmenének az Izráel királyához, és mondának: A te szolgád, Benhadád, ezt mondja: Hagyd életben kérlek, az én lelkemet! És monda: Él-e még? én atyámfia ő!

So they girded sackcloth on their loins, and put ropes on their heads, and came to the king of Israel, and said, Thy servant Benhadad saith, I pray thee, let me live. And he said, Is he yet alive? he is my brother.

Şi-au pus saci împrejurul coapselor şi funii împrejurul capului, s-au dus la împăratul lui Israel şi au zis: „Robul tău Ben-Hadad a zis: „Lasă-mă cu viaţă!” Ahab a răspuns: „Mai este încă în viaţă? Este fratele meu!”

So they tied sackcloth around their waists and put ropes on their heads and went to the king of Israel and said, “Your servant Ben-hadad says, ‘Please, let me live.’” And he said, “Does he still live? He is my brother.”

Az emberek jó jelnek vették ezt, és gyorsan megragadták a szót, és azt mondták: Testvéred, Benhadad él! Ő azt mondta: Menjetek, és hozzátok ide. Ekkor Benhadad kijött hozzá, és fölállította őt a harci szekerébe,

Now the men did diligently observe whether any thing would come from him, and did hastily catch it: and they said, Thy brother Benhadad. Then he said, Go ye, bring him. Then Benhadad came forth to him; and he caused him to come up into the chariot.

Now the men were watching for a sign, and they quickly took it up from him and said, “Yes, your brother Ben-hadad.” Then he said, “Go and bring him.” Then Ben-hadad came out to him, and he caused him to come up into the chariot.

és azt mondta neki: Visszaadom a városokat, amelyeket apám elvett apádtól, és csinálj magadnak utcákat Damaszkuszban, amilyeneket apám csinált Samáriában. Ezzel a szövetséggel bocsátalak el téged. Így szövetséget kötött vele, és elbocsátotta.

És monda néki: A városokat, a melyeket elvett volt az én atyám a te atyádtól, azokat visszaadom, és csinálj magadnak utczákat Damaskusban, mint az én atyám csinált volt Samariában; én ezzel a kötéssel bocsátlak el téged. És szövetséget kötött vele, és elbocsátá őt.

And Ben-hadad said unto him, The cities, which my father took from thy father, I will restore; and thou shalt make streets for thee in Damascus, as my father made in Samaria. Then said Ahab, I will send thee away with this covenant. So he made a covenant with him, and sent him away.

Ben-Hadad i-a zis: „Îţi voi da înapoi cetăţile pe care le-a luat tatăl meu de la tatăl tău; şi-ţi vei face uliţe în Damasc, cum făcuse tatăl meu în Samaria.” „Şi eu”, a răspuns Ahab, „îţi voi da drumul, făcând un legământ.” A făcut legământ cu el şi i-a dat drumul.

And Ben-hadad said to him, “The cities that my father took from your father I will restore, and you may establish bazaars for yourself in Damascus, as my father did in Samaria.” And Ahab said, “I will let you go on these terms.” So he made a covenant with him and let him go.

Egy férfi pedig a prófétafiak közül azt mondta társának az ÚR beszéde szerint: Üss meg engem, kérlek. De az nem akarta őt megütni.

Egy férfiú pedig a próféták fiai közül monda az ő felebarátjának az Úr beszéde szerint: Verj meg engem kérlek; de ez nem akará őt megverni.

And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said unto his neighbour in the word of the LORD, Smite me, I pray thee. And the man refused to smite him.

Unul din fiii prorocilor a zis tovarăşului său, după porunca Domnului: „Loveşte-mă, te rog!” Dar omul acela n-a vrut să-l lovească.

And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said to his fellow at the command of the LORD, “Strike me, please.” But the man refused to strike him.

Akkor ezt mondta neki: Azért, mert nem engedtél az ÚR szavának, íme, mihelyt elmész tőlem, megöl egy oroszlán. És amikor elment tőle, rátalált egy oroszlán, és megölte.

Akkor monda néki: Azért, mert nem engedtél az Úr szavának: ímé mihelyt én tőlem elmégy, megöl téged az oroszlán. És a mikor elment ő tőle, találá őt egy oroszlán, és megölé.

Then said he unto him, Because thou hast not obeyed the voice of the LORD, behold, as soon as thou art departed from me, a lion shall slay thee. And as soon as he was departed from him, a lion found him, and slew him.

Atunci el i-a zis: „Pentru că n-ai ascultat de glasul Domnului, iată, când vei pleca de la mine, te va omorî un leu. Şi când a plecat de la el, l-a întâlnit un leu şi l-a omorât.

Then he said to him, “Because you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, behold, as soon as you have gone from me, a lion shall strike you down.” And as soon as he had departed from him, a lion met him and struck him down.

Találkozott azután egy másik férfival, akinek ezt mondta: Kérlek, üss meg engem. Az úgy megütötte, hogy megsebesült.

Talála azután más férfiat, a kinek monda: Kérlek, verj meg engem. És megveré az annyira, hogy megsebesítette.

Then he found another man, and said, Smite me, I pray thee. And the man smote him, so that in smiting he wounded him.

A găsit pe un alt om şi a zis: „Loveşte-mă, te rog!” Omul acela l-a lovit şi l-a rănit.

Then he found another man and said, “Strike me, please.” And the man struck him—struck him and wounded him.

Akkor elment a próféta, majd az útfélen a király elé állt, de elváltoztatta magát úgy, hogy bekötötte a szemét.

És elméne a próféta, és az útfélen a király elé álla és elváltoztatá magát szemeit bekötözvén.

So the prophet departed, and waited for the king by the way, and disguised himself with ashes upon his face.

Amikor pedig arra ment a király, így kiáltott a királynak: Szolgád részt vett a harcban, és íme, valaki odafordult hozzám, odahozott egy embert, és azt mondta: „Őrizd ezt az embert! De ha el fog szökni, meg kell halnod érette, vagy egy talentum ezüstöt fizetsz.”

Mikor pedig arra ment el a király, kiálta a királyhoz, és monda: A te szolgád kiment volt a hadba, és ímé egy férfiú eljövén, hoza én hozzám egy férfiút, és monda: Őrizd meg ezt a férfiút; ha elszaladánd, meg kell halnod érette, vagy egy tálentom ezüstöt fizetsz.

And as the king passed by, he cried unto the king: and he said, Thy servant went out into the midst of the battle; and, behold, a man turned aside, and brought a man unto me, and said, Keep this man: if by any means he be missing, then shall thy life be for his life, or else thou shalt pay a talent of silver.

Când a trecut împăratul, prorocul a strigat şi i-a zis: „Robul tău era în mijlocul luptei; şi iată că un om se apropie şi-mi aduce pe un alt om, zicând: „Păzeşte pe omul acesta; dacă va fugi, viaţa ta va răspunde pentru viaţa lui sau vei plăti un talant de argint!”

And as the king passed, he cried to the king and said, “Your servant went out into the midst of the battle, and behold, a soldier turned and brought a man to me and said, ‘Guard this man; if by any means he is missing, your life shall be for his life, or else you shall pay a talent of silver.’

És amíg szolgádnak itt és amott dolga volt, az a fogoly elszökött. Izráel királya ezt mondta neki: Ez a te ítéleted, magad döntöttél.

És mialatt a te szolgádnak itt és amott dolga volt, az [az ember] már nem volt. És monda néki az Izráel királya: Az a te ítéleted; magad akartad.

And as thy servant was busy here and there, he was gone. And the king of Israel said unto him, So shall thy judgment be; thyself hast decided it.

Şi pe când robul tău făcea câte ceva încoace şi încolo, omul s-a făcut nevăzut.” Împăratul lui Israel i-a zis: „Aceasta îţi este osânda; tu însuţi ai rostit-o.”

And as your servant was busy here and there, he was gone.” The king of Israel said to him, “So shall your judgment be; you yourself have decided it.”

Akkor ő gyorsan levette a kötést a szeméről, és Izráel királya felismerte őt, hogy a próféták közül való.

És mindjárt elvevé a kötést az ő szeméről, és megismeré őt az Izráel királya, hogy a próféták közül való.

And he hasted, and took the ashes away from his face; and the king of Israel discerned him that he was of the prophets.

Îndată prorocul şi-a scos legătura de la ochi, şi împăratul lui Israel l-a cunoscut că făcea parte din proroci.

Then he hurried to take the bandage away from his eyes, and the king of Israel recognized him as one of the prophets.

A próféta azt mondta neki: Ezt mondja az ÚR: Mivel kiengedted kezedből azt az embert, akit én halálra szántam, életéért életeddel, népéért a népeddel felelsz!

És monda néki: Ezt mondja az Úr: Mert elbocsátottad kezedből a férfiút, a kit én halálra szántam, azért lelked lészen lelkéért, és néped népéért.

And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Because thou hast let go out of thy hand a man whom I appointed to utter destruction, therefore thy life shall go for his life, and thy people for his people.

El a zis atunci împăratului: „Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: „Pentru că ai lăsat să-ţi scape din mâini omul pe care-l sortisem nimicirii, viaţa ta va răspunde pentru viaţa lui, şi poporul tău pentru poporul lui.”

And he said to him, “Thus says the LORD, ‘Because you have let go out of your hand the man whom I had devoted to destruction, therefore your life shall be for his life, and your people for his people.’”

Akkor Izráel királya szomorú szívvel és rosszkedvűen hazament, és megérkezett Samáriába.

És házához méne az Izráel királya szomorú és megbúsult szívvel, és méne Samariába.

And the king of Israel went to his house heavy and displeased, and came to Samaria.

Împăratul lui Israel s-a dus acasă, trist şi mânios, şi a ajuns la Samaria.

And the king of Israel went to his house vexed and sullen and came to Samaria.
