Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned Abijam over Judah.

Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. and his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.

Teljesen apja bűneiben járt, amelyeket őelőtte cselekedett, és nem volt a szíve olyan tökéletes URához, Istenéhez, mint Dávidnak, atyjának a szíve.

And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.

Nevertheless for David's sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:

Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.

Now the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.

And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.

He also removed Maacah his mother from being queen mother because she had made an abominable image for Asherah. And Asa cut down her image and burned it at the brook Kidron.

But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa's heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.

But the high places were not taken away. Nevertheless, the heart of Asa was wholly true to the LORD all his days.

And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which himself had dedicated, into the house of the LORD, silver, and gold, and vessels.

And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.

Baeşa, împăratul lui Israel, s-a suit împotriva lui Iuda; şi a întărit Rama, ca să împiedice pe ai lui Asa, împăratul lui Iuda, să iasă şi să intre.

Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah and built Ramah, that he might permit no one to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.

Akkor Ászá vette az összes ezüstöt és aranyat, amely megmaradt mind az ÚR, mind a király házának a kincseiből. Szolgái kezére bízta és elküldte azt Ászá király Arám királyának, Benhadadnak – Tabrimmón fiának, aki Hezjón fia volt –, aki Damaszkuszban lakott, és ezt üzente neki:

És vévén Asa mind az ezüstöt és aranyat, a mely megmaradott volt mind az Úr, mind a király házának kincseiből; adá azt az ő szolgáinak kezébe, és elküldé azt Asa király Benhadádnak, Tabrimmon fiának, a ki Héczion fia volt, Siria királyának, a ki Damaskusban lakott, ezt izenvén [néki:]

Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king Asa sent them to Benhadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,

Asa a luat tot argintul şi tot aurul care rămăseseră în vistieriile Casei Domnului şi vistieriile casei împăratului şi le-a pus în mâinile slujitorilor lui, pe care i-a trimis la Ben-Hadad, fiul lui Tabrimon, fiul lui Hezion, împăratul Siriei, care locuia la Damasc. Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD and the treasures of the king’s house and gave them into the hands of his servants. And King Asa sent them to Ben-hadad the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, who lived in Damascus, saying,

There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.

„Să fie un legământ între mine şi tine, cum a fost între tatăl meu şi tatăl tău. Iată, îţi trimit un dar în argint şi în aur. Du-te, rupe legământul tău cu Baeşa, împăratul lui Israel, ca să se depărteze de la mine.”

“Let there be a covenant between me and you, as there was between my father and your father. Behold, I am sending to you a present of silver and gold. Go, break your covenant with Baasha king of Israel, that he may withdraw from me.”

Benhadad engedett Ászá királynak, és elküldte seregeinek vezéreit Izráel városai ellen. Bevette Ijjónt, Dánt, Ábél-Bét-Maakát és az egész Kinnerótot Naftáli egész földjével együtt.

És Benhadád engedelmeskedett Asa királynak és elküldé az ő seregeinek vezéreit az Izráel városai ellen; és bevevé Hijont és Dánt, és Abel Beth-Maakát, és az egész Kinneróthot a Nafthali egész földével.

So Benhadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of the hosts which he had against the cities of Israel, and smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abelbethmaachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.

Ben-Hadad a ascultat pe împăratul Asa; a trimis pe căpeteniile oştirii lui împotriva cetăţilor lui Israel, şi au pustiit Iionul, Dan, Abel-Bet-Maaca, tot Chinerotul şi toată ţara lui Neftali.

And Ben-hadad listened to King Asa and sent the commanders of his armies against the cities of Israel and conquered Ijon, Dan, Abel-beth-maacah, and all Chinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.

Amikor pedig Baasá meghallotta ezt, abbahagyta Ráma építését, és Tircában maradt.

And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, that he left off building of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.

And when Baasha heard of it, he stopped building Ramah, and he lived in Tirzah.

Akkor Ászá király összegyűjtötte egész Júdát, senkit sem hagyott ki, és elhordták Ráma minden kövét és fáját, amelyekből Baasá építkezett, és Ászá király azokból kiépítette Gebát Benjámin nemzetségében és Micpát.

Akkor Asa király egybegyűjté az egész Júdát, senkit ki nem hagyván, és elhordák Rámának mind köveit, mind fáját, a melyekkel Baása épített volt, és építé azokból Asa király Gébát, a Benjámin nemzetségében és Mispát.

Then king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah; none was exempted: and they took away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had builded; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

Împăratul Asa a chemat pe tot Iuda, fără să lase la o parte pe cineva, şi au ridicat pietrele şi lemnul pe care-l întrebuinţa Baeşa la întărirea Ramei; şi împăratul Asa le-a întrebuinţat la întărirea Ghebei lui Beniamin şi Miţpei.

Then King Asa made a proclamation to all Judah, none was exempt, and they carried away the stones of Ramah and its timber, with which Baasha had been building, and with them King Asa built Geba of Benjamin and Mizpah.

Ászá minden egyéb dolga és egész uralkodása és amit cselekedett, és a városok, amelyeket épített, vajon nincsenek-e megírva Júda királyainak krónikáskönyvében? Kivéve azt, hogy öregségére megbetegedett a lába.

The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.

And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead.

And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two years.

Nadab, fiul lui Ieroboam, a început să domnească peste Israel în al doilea an al lui Asa, împăratul lui Iuda. El a domnit doi ani peste Israel.

Gonoszul cselekedett az ÚR szemében, és apjának útján és vétkében járt, amellyel bűnbe ejtette Izráelt.

És gonoszul cselekedék az Úrnak szemei előtt és jára az ő atyjának útján és annak vétkében, a melylyel bűnbe ejtette volt az Izráelt.

And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.

De az Issakár házából származó Baasá, Ahijjá fia pártot ütött ellene, és megverte őt Baasá Gibbetónnál, a filiszteusok városánál. Mert Nádáb és az egész Izráel Gibbetónt ostromolta.

And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.

Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him. And Baasha struck him down at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines, for Nadab and all Israel were laying siege to Gibbethon.

Ászának, a júdabeli királynak harmadik évében ölte meg őt Baasá, és lett helyette király.

Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his stead.

So Baasha killed him in the third year of Asa king of Judah and reigned in his place.

Amikor uralkodni kezdett, kiirtotta Jeroboám egész háznépét. Egy lelket sem hagyott meg közülük, mind elvesztette őket az ÚR szava szerint, amelyet megmondott szolgája, a silói Ahijjá által.

And it came to pass, when he reigned, that he smote all the house of Jeroboam; he left not to Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed him, according unto the saying of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite:

And as soon as he was king, he killed all the house of Jeroboam. He left to the house of Jeroboam not one that breathed, until he had destroyed it, according to the word of the LORD that he spoke by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite.

In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years.

In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha the son of Ahijah began to reign over all Israel at Tirzah, and he reigned twenty-four years.
