And Rehoboam went to Shechem: for all Israel were come to Shechem to make him king.

Meghallotta ezt Jeroboám, Nebát fia, aki még Egyiptomban volt, ahová Salamon király elől menekült. Egyiptomban tartózkodott Jeroboám,

And it came to pass, when Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who was yet in Egypt, heard of it, (for he was fled from the presence of king Solomon, and Jeroboam dwelt in Egypt;)

And as soon as Jeroboam the son of Nebat heard of it (for he was still in Egypt, where he had fled from King Solomon), then Jeroboam returned from Egypt.

That they sent and called him. And Jeroboam and all the congregation of Israel came, and spake unto Rehoboam, saying,

Thy father made our yoke grievous: now therefore make thou the grievous service of thy father, and his heavy yoke which he put upon us, lighter, and we will serve thee.

“Your father made our yoke heavy. Now therefore lighten the hard service of your father and his heavy yoke on us, and we will serve you.”

Ő azt mondta nekik: Menjetek el, és harmadnap jöjjetek vissza hozzám. Erre a nép elment.

And he said unto them, Depart yet for three days, then come again to me. And the people departed.

He said to them, “Go away for three days, then come again to me.” So the people went away.

Akkor Roboám király tanácsot tartott a vénekkel, akik apja, Salamon szolgálatában álltak, amíg élt, és ezt kérdezte: Milyen tanácsot adtok, mit válaszoljak a népnek?

És tanácsot tarta Roboám király a vénekkel, a kik Salamon, az ő atyja előtt állottak vala életében, mondván: Micsoda tanácsot adtok ti, hogy milyen választ adjak e népnek?

And king Rehoboam consulted with the old men, that stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, and said, How do ye advise that I may answer this people?

Împăratul Roboam s-a sfătuit cu bătrânii care fuseseră pe lângă tatăl său, Solomon, în timpul vieţii lui, şi a zis: „Ce mă sfătuiţi să răspund poporului acestuia?”

Then King Rehoboam took counsel with the old men, who had stood before Solomon his father while he was yet alive, saying, “How do you advise me to answer this people?”

Azok ezt mondták: Ha e mai napon kedvezel ennek a népnek, szolgálsz nekik, engedsz kérésüknek, és kedvesen szólsz hozzájuk, egész életükben szolgálni fognak téged.

And they spake unto him, saying, If thou wilt be a servant unto this people this day, and wilt serve them, and answer them, and speak good words to them, then they will be thy servants for ever.

Şi iată ce i-au zis ei: „Dacă vei îndatora astăzi pe poporul acesta, dacă le faci ce cer şi dacă le vei răspunde cu vorbe binevoitoare, îţi vor sluji pe vecie.”

And they said to him, “If you will be a servant to this people today and serve them, and speak good words to them when you answer them, then they will be your servants forever.”

De ő megvetette a vének tanácsát, és tanácsot tartott az ifjakkal is, akik vele együtt nőttek föl, és az ő szolgálatára álltak.

But he forsook the counsel of the old men, which they had given him, and consulted with the young men that were grown up with him, and which stood before him:

But he abandoned the counsel that the old men gave him and took counsel with the young men who had grown up with him and stood before him.

Megkérdezte tőlük: Milyen tanácsot adtok, mit válaszoljak e népnek, amely ezt kérte tőlem: „Könnyebbítsd meg az igát, amelyet apád ránk vetett”?

És monda azoknak: Micsoda tanácsot adtok ti, hogy választ adjunk e népnek, a mely nékem szólván, azt mondja: Könnyebbítsd meg az igát, a melyet reánk vetett a te atyád?

And he said unto them, What counsel give ye that we may answer this people, who have spoken to me, saying, Make the yoke which thy father did put upon us lighter?

El a zis: „Ce mă sfătuiţi să răspund poporului acestuia, care-mi vorbeşte aşa: „Uşurează-ne jugul pe care l-a pus peste noi tatăl tău”?”

And he said to them, “What do you advise that we answer this people who have said to me, ‘Lighten the yoke that your father put on us’?”

Azt mondták neki az ifjak, akik együtt nőttek föl vele: Így szólj ennek a népnek, amely ezt mondja neked: „Apád megnehezítette a mi igánkat, te pedig könnyebbítsd meg nékünk”, így szólj nekik: Az én kisujjam is vastagabb apám derekánál.

And the young men that were grown up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou speak unto this people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it lighter unto us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins.

Şi iată ce i-au zis tinerii care crescuseră cu el: „Să spui aşa poporului acestuia care ţi-a vorbit astfel: „Tatăl tău ne-a îngreuiat jugul, tu uşurează-ni-l!” Să le vorbeşti aşa: „Degetul meu cel mic va fi mai gros decât coapsele tatălui meu.

And the young men who had grown up with him said to him, “Thus shall you speak to this people who said to you, ‘Your father made our yoke heavy, but you lighten it for us,’ thus shall you say to them, ‘My little finger is thicker than my father’s thighs.

Most azért, ha apám nehéz igát vetett rátok, én még nehezebbé teszem igátokat! Ha apám ostorral fegyelmezett benneteket, én skorpiókkal ostorozlak titeket.

And now whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke: my father hath chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.

Acum, tatăl meu a pus peste voi un jug greu, dar eu vi-l voi face şi mai greu; tatăl meu v-a bătut cu bice, dar eu vă voi bate cu scorpioni.”

And now, whereas my father laid on you a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke. My father disciplined you with whips, but I will discipline you with scorpions.’”

So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king had appointed, saying, Come to me again the third day.

So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king said, “Come to me again the third day.”

És a király kemény választ adott a népnek. Megvetette a vének tanácsát,

And the king answered the people roughly, and forsook the old men's counsel that they gave him;

And the king answered the people harshly, and forsaking the counsel that the old men had given him,

és az ifjak tanácsa szerint így szólt hozzájuk: Ha apám megnehezítette igátokat, én még nehezebbé teszem azt. Ha apám ostorral fegyelmezett titeket, én skorpiókkal foglak.

És szóla nékik az ifjak tanácsa szerint, mondván: Ha az én atyám megnehezítette a ti igátokat, én még nehezebbé teszem azt; ha az én atyám ostorral fékezett titeket, én skorpiókkal ostorozlak benneteket.

And spake to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to your yoke: my father also chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.

şi le-a vorbit astfel, după sfatul tinerilor: „Tatăl meu v-a îngreuiat jugul, dar eu vi-l voi face şi mai greu; tatăl meu v-a bătut cu bice, dar eu vă voi bate cu scorpioni.”

he spoke to them according to the counsel of the young men, saying, “My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add to your yoke. My father disciplined you with whips, but I will discipline you with scorpions.”

És nem hallgatott a király a népre, mert ezt az ÚR fordította így, hogy beteljesítse az igét, amelyet a silói Ahijjá által mondott az ÚR Jeroboámnak, Nebát fiának.

És nem hallgatá meg a király a népet; mert ezt az Úr fordította ekként, hogy megerősítse az ő beszédét, a melyet szólott volt az Úr a Silóbeli Ahija által Jeroboámnak, a Nébát fiának.

Wherefore the king hearkened not unto the people; for the cause was from the LORD, that he might perform his saying, which the LORD spake by Ahijah the Shilonite unto Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

Astfel împăratul n-a ascultat pe popor; căci lucrul acesta a fost cârmuit de Domnul, în vederea împlinirii cuvântului pe care-l spusese Domnul prin Ahia din Silo lui Ieroboam, fiul lui Nebat.

So the king did not listen to the people, for it was a turn of affairs brought about by the LORD that he might fulfill his word, which the LORD spoke by Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

Mikor pedig egész Izráel látta, hogy nem hallgatja meg őket a király, így felelt az egész nép a királynak: Mi részünk van nekünk Dávidban? Nincs nekünk örökségünk Isai fiában. Térj vissza otthonodba, ó, Izráel! Te pedig törődj, ó, Dávid, a saját házaddal! Izráel tehát hazament az otthonába.

Mikor pedig látta az egész Izráel, hogy meg nem hallgatta őket a király, felele az [egész] nép a királynak ekképen: Micsoda részünk van nékünk Dávidban? Nincsen nékünk örökségünk az Isai fiában: [menj el] a te hajlékidba, óh Izráel! Most viseld gondját immár a te házadnak, óh Dávid! Elméne azért az Izráel az ő hajlékiba;

So when all Israel saw that the king hearkened not unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: to your tents, O Israel: now see to thine own house, David. So Israel departed unto their tents.

Când a văzut tot Israelul că împăratul nu-l ascultă, poporul a răspuns împăratului: „Ce parte avem noi cu David? Noi n-avem moştenire cu fiul lui Isai! La corturile tale, Israele! Acum vezi-ţi de casă, Davide!” Şi Israel s-a dus în corturile lui.

And when all Israel saw that the king did not listen to them, the people answered the king, “What portion do we have in David? We have no inheritance in the son of Jesse. To your tents, O Israel! Look now to your own house, David.” So Israel went to their tents.

But as for the children of Israel which dwelt in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.

But Rehoboam reigned over the people of Israel who lived in the cities of Judah.

Amikor Roboám király kiküldte Adórámot, a robot felügyelőjét, az egész Izráel megkövezte őt, és meghalt. Maga Roboám király is hamar harci szekerére ült, és Jeruzsálembe menekült.

Then king Rehoboam sent Adoram, who was over the tribute; and all Israel stoned him with stones, that he died. Therefore king Rehoboam made speed to get him up to his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.

Then King Rehoboam sent Adoram, who was taskmaster over the forced labor, and all Israel stoned him to death with stones. And King Rehoboam hurried to mount his chariot to flee to Jerusalem.

Amikor meghallotta egész Izráel, hogy megjött Jeroboám, érte küldtek, hívatták őt a gyülekezetbe, és királlyá tették egész Izráelen. Senki sem követte Dávid házát, egyedül csak Júda törzse.

És lőn, mikor meghallotta az egész Izráel, hogy megjött Jeroboám, érette küldvén, hivaták őt a gyülekezetbe, és királylyá tevék őt az egész Izráelen; senki pedig nem követé Dávidnak házát, hanem csak egyedül a Júda nemzetsége.

And it came to pass, when all Israel heard that Jeroboam was come again, that they sent and called him unto the congregation, and made him king over all Israel: there was none that followed the house of David, but the tribe of Judah only.

Tot Israelul, auzind că Ieroboam s-a întors, au trimis să-l cheme în adunare şi l-au făcut împărat peste tot Israelul. Seminţia lui Iuda a fost singura care a mers după casa lui David.

And when all Israel heard that Jeroboam had returned, they sent and called him to the assembly and made him king over all Israel. There was none that followed the house of David but the tribe of Judah only.

And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah, with the tribe of Benjamin, an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam the son of Solomon.

Roboam ajungând la Ierusalim, a strâns toată casa lui Iuda şi seminţia lui Beniamin, o sută optzeci de mii de oameni aleşi, buni pentru război, ca să lupte împotriva casei lui Israel şi s-o aducă înapoi sub stăpânirea lui Roboam, fiul lui Solomon.

When Rehoboam came to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah and the tribe of Benjamin, 180,000 chosen warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, to restore the kingdom to Rehoboam the son of Solomon.

Speak unto Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and unto all the house of Judah and Benjamin, and to the remnant of the people, saying,

„Vorbeşte lui Roboam, fiul lui Solomon, împăratul lui Iuda, şi întregii case a lui Iuda şi a lui Beniamin şi celuilalt popor şi spune-le:

“Say to Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all the house of Judah and Benjamin, and to the rest of the people,

Azt mondja az ÚR: Föl ne menjetek, és ne hadakozzatok testvéreitek, Izráel ellen. Térjetek vissza, mindenki a maga házába, mert éntőlem lett ez a dolog. Ekkor engedtek az ÚR szavának, visszatértek, és elmentek az ÚR szava szerint.

Azt mondja az Úr: Fel ne menjetek, és ne hadakozzatok a ti atyátokfiai ellen, az Izráel ellen; térjetek meg kiki a maga házába, mert én tőlem lett e dolog. És ők engedének az Úr beszédének, és visszatérvén, elmenének az Úr beszéde szerint.

Thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel: return every man to his house; for this thing is from me. They hearkened therefore to the word of the LORD, and returned to depart, according to the word of the LORD.

„Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: „Nu vă suiţi şi nu faceţi război împotriva fraţilor voştri, copiii lui Israel! Fiecare din voi să se întoarcă acasă, căci de la Mine s-a întâmplat lucrul acesta.” Ei au ascultat de cuvântul Domnului şi s-au întors acasă, după cuvântul Domnului.

‘Thus says the LORD, You shall not go up or fight against your relatives the people of Israel. Every man return to his home, for this thing is from me.’” So they listened to the word of the LORD and went home again, according to the word of the LORD.

Jeroboám pedig kiépítette Sikemet az Efraim hegységében, és ott lakott. Onnan átment, és kiépítette Penúélt.

Then Jeroboam built Shechem in mount Ephraim, and dwelt therein; and went out from thence, and built Penuel.

Then Jeroboam built Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim and lived there. And he went out from there and built Penuel.

Azt gondolta ugyanis a szívében: Majd még visszatér ez az ország Dávid házához:

És monda Jeroboám az ő szívében: Majd visszatér ez ország a Dávid házához;

And Jeroboam said in his heart, Now shall the kingdom return to the house of David:

And Jeroboam said in his heart, “Now the kingdom will turn back to the house of David.

ha följár a nép, hogy áldozatot tegyen Jeruzsálemben az ÚR házában, akkor a nép szíve az ő urához, Roboámhoz, Júda királyához hajlik, engem pedig megölnek, és visszatérnek Roboámhoz, Júda királyához.

Ha felmegy a nép, hogy áldozatot tegyen Jeruzsálemben az Úrnak házában; e népnek szíve az ő urához, Roboámhoz, a Júda királyához hajol, és engem megölnek, és visszatérnek Roboámhoz, a Júda királyához.

If this people go up to do sacrifice in the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, then shall the heart of this people turn again unto their lord, even unto Rehoboam king of Judah, and they shall kill me, and go again to Rehoboam king of Judah.

If this people go up to offer sacrifices in the temple of the LORD at Jerusalem, then the heart of this people will turn again to their lord, to Rehoboam king of Judah, and they will kill me and return to Rehoboam king of Judah.”

Tanácsot tartott tehát a király, és csináltatott két aranyborjút, és azt mondta: Sok nektek Jeruzsálembe följárni: Íme, itt vannak a te isteneid, ó, Izráel, akik kihoztak Egyiptom földjéről.

Tanácsot tartván azért a király, csináltata két arany borjút, és monda nékik: Sok néktek Jeruzsálembe felmennetek: Ímhol vannak a te isteneid, óh Izráel, a kik téged kihoztak Égyiptomnak földéből.

Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold, and said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

După ce s-a sfătuit, împăratul a făcut doi viţei de aur şi a zis poporului: „Destul v-aţi suit la Ierusalim; Israele! Iată Dumnezeul tău care te-a scos din ţara Egiptului.”

So the king took counsel and made two calves of gold. And he said to the people, “You have gone up to Jerusalem long enough. Behold your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.”

És az egyiket Bételbe helyeztette, a másikat pedig Dánba.

And he set the one in Bethel, and the other put he in Dan.

De ez nagy bűnnek lett az okozója, mert a nép följárt hozzájuk egészen Dánig.

And this thing became a sin: for the people went to worship before the one, even unto Dan.

Then this thing became a sin, for the people went as far as Dan to be before one.

Azután fölállította a magas helyek templomát, és papokat rendelt a nép közül, akik nem Lévi fiai közül valók voltak.

And he made an house of high places, and made priests of the lowest of the people, which were not of the sons of Levi.

He also made temples on high places and appointed priests from among all the people, who were not of the Levites.

Bevezetett Jeroboám egy ünnepet is a nyolcadik hónapban, a hónap tizenötödik napján a júdabeli ünnep módja szerint, és áldozott az oltáron. Hasonlóképpen cselekedett Bételben is: áldozott a borjúknak, amelyeket ő csináltatott, és Bételben papokat rendelt azokhoz a magaslatokhoz, amelyeket ő csináltatott.

És szerze Jeroboám egy ünnepet is a nyolczadik hónapban, a hónap tizenötödik napján, a Júdabeli ünnep módja szerint, és áldozék az oltáron. Hasonlóképen cselekedék Béthelben is, áldozván a borjúknak, a melyeket csinált vala, és szerze Béthelben papokat a magaslatokhoz, a melyeket csinált vala.

And Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like unto the feast that is in Judah, and he offered upon the altar. So did he in Bethel, sacrificing unto the calves that he had made: and he placed in Bethel the priests of the high places which he had made.

A rânduit o sărbătoare în luna a opta, în ziua a cincisprezecea a lunii, ca sărbătoarea care se prăznuia în Iuda, şi a adus jertfe pe altar. Iată ce a făcut la Betel, ca să se aducă jertfe viţeilor pe care-i făcuse el. A pus în slujbă la Betel pe preoţii înălţimilor ridicate de el.

And Jeroboam appointed a feast on the fifteenth day of the eighth month like the feast that was in Judah, and he offered sacrifices on the altar. So he did in Bethel, sacrificing to the calves that he made. And he placed in Bethel the priests of the high places that he had made.

A Bételben fölállított oltáron is áldozott a nyolcadik hónap tizenötödik napján, az ő választása szerinti hónapban. Ünnepet szerzett Izráel fiai számára, és fölment az oltárhoz, hogy jó illattal tömjénezzen.

És áldozék azon az oltáron is, a melyet Béthelben állított fel, a nyolczadik hónap tizenötödik napján, abban a hónapban, a melyet az ő szívében gondolt vala; és ünnepet szerze az Izráel fiainak, és felméne az oltárra, hogy jóillatot szerezzen.

So he offered upon the altar which he had made in Bethel the fifteenth day of the eighth month, even in the month which he had devised of his own heart; and ordained a feast unto the children of Israel: and he offered upon the altar, and burnt incense.

Şi a jertfit pe altarul pe care-l făcuse la Betel, în ziua a cincisprezecea a lunii a opta, lună pe care o alesese după bunul lui plac. A hotărât-o ca sărbătoare pentru copiii lui Israel şi s-a suit la altar să ardă tămâie.

He went up to the altar that he had made in Bethel on the fifteenth day in the eighth month, in the month that he had devised from his own heart. And he instituted a feast for the people of Israel and went up to the altar to make offerings.
