Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.

Un oarecare Lazăr din Betania, satul Mariei şi al Martei, sora ei, era bolnav. –

Now a certain man was ill, Lazarus of Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha.

Mária volt az, aki megkente az Urat kenettel, és hajával törölte meg a lábát; az ő testvére, Lázár volt beteg.

Az a Mária volt pedig az, a kinek a testvére Lázár beteg vala, a ki megkente vala az Urat kenettel és a hajával törlé meg annak lábait.

(It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)

Maria era aceea care a uns pe Domnul cu mir şi I-a şters picioarele cu părul ei, şi Lazăr cel bolnav era fratele ei. –

It was Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was ill.

Üzenetet küldtek azért a nővérek hozzá: Uram, íme, akit szeretsz, beteg.

Küldének azért a testvérek ő hozzá, mondván: Uram, ímé, a kit szeretsz, beteg.

Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.

Surorile au trimis la Isus să-I spună: „Doamne, iată că acela pe care-l iubeşti este bolnav.”

So the sisters sent to him, saying, “Lord, he whom you love is ill.”

Amikor Jézus ezt meghallotta, azt mondta: Ez a betegség nem halálos, hanem az Isten dicsőségére van, hogy általa megdicsőüljön az Isten Fia.

Jézus pedig, a mikor ezt hallotta, monda: Ez a betegség nem halálos, hanem az Isten dicsőségére való, hogy dicsőíttessék általa az Istennek Fia.

When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.

Dar Isus, când a auzit vestea aceasta, a zis: „Boala aceasta nu este spre moarte, ci spre slava lui Dumnezeu, pentru ca Fiul lui Dumnezeu să fie proslăvit prin ea.”

But when Jesus heard it he said, “This illness does not lead to death. It is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”

Jézus pedig szerette Mártát és annak nővérét és Lázárt.

Szereti vala pedig Jézus Márthát és annak nőtestvérét, és Lázárt.

Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.

Şi Isus iubea pe Marta şi pe sora ei şi pe Lazăr.

Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.

Amikor viszont meghallotta, hogy beteg, két napig azon a helyen maradt, ahol volt.

Mikor azért meghallá, hogy beteg, akkor két napig marada azon a helyen, a hol vala.

When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.

Deci când a auzit că Lazăr este bolnav, a mai zăbovit două zile în locul în care era;

So, when he heard that Lazarus was ill, he stayed two days longer in the place where he was.

Majd ezt követően így szólt tanítványaihoz: Menjünk ismét Júdeába.

Ez után aztán monda tanítványainak: Menjünk ismét Júdeába.

Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again.

şi în urmă a zis ucenicilor: „Haidem să ne întoarcem în Iudeea.”

Then after this he said to the disciples, “Let us go to Judea again.”

A tanítványok pedig azt mondták: Mester, most akartak megkövezni a zsidók, és ismét oda mégy?

Mondának néki a tanítványok: Mester, most akarnak vala téged megkövezni a Júdabeliek, és újra oda mégy?

His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?

„Învăţătorule”, I-au zis ucenicii, „acum de curând căutau iudeii să Te ucidă cu pietre, şi Te întorci în Iudeea?”

The disciples said to him, “Rabbi, the Jews were just now seeking to stone you, and are you going there again?”

Jézus azt felelte: Nemde tizenkét órája van a nappalnak? Ha valaki nappal jár, nem botlik meg, mert látja a világ világosságát,

Felele Jézus: Avagy nem tizenkét órája van-é a napnak? Ha valaki nappal jár, nem botlik meg, mert látja e világnak világosságát.

Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.

Isus a răspuns: „Nu sunt douăsprezece ceasuri în zi? Dacă umblă cineva ziua nu se poticneşte, pentru că vede lumina lumii acesteia;

Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.

de aki éjjel jár, megbotlik, mert nincsen világossága.

De a ki éjjel jár, megbotlik, mert nincsen abban világosság.

But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.

dar dacă umblă noaptea, se poticneşte, pentru că n-are lumina în el.”

But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.”

Ezeket mondta, majd hozzátette: Lázár, a mi barátunk, elaludt, de elmegyek, hogy felköltsem.

Ezeket mondá; és ezután monda nékik: Lázár, a mi barátunk, elaludt; de elmegyek, hogy felköltsem őt.

These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

După aceste vorbe, le-a zis: „Lazăr, prietenul nostru, doarme; dar Mă duc să-l trezesc din somn.”

After saying these things, he said to them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I go to awaken him.”

Tanítványai erre azt mondták: Uram, ha elaludt, meggyógyul.

Mondának azért az ő tanítványai: Uram, ha elaludt, meggyógyul.

Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.

Ucenicii I-au zis: „Doamne, dacă doarme, are să se facă bine.”

The disciples said to him, “Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover.”

Pedig Jézus annak haláláról beszélt, de ők azt gondolták, hogy álomnak alvásáról szól.

Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.

Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that he meant taking rest in sleep.

Akkor Jézus megmondta nekik nyíltan: Lázár meghalt,

Ekkor azért nyilván monda nékik Jézus: Lázár megholt.

Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.

Atunci Isus le-a spus pe faţă: „Lazăr a murit.

Then Jesus told them plainly, “Lazarus has died,

de miattatok, hogy higgyetek, örülök, hogy nem voltam ott. Ám menjünk el hozzá!

És örülök, hogy nem voltam ott, ti érettetek, hogy higyjetek. De menjünk el ő hozzá!

And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.

Şi mă bucur că n-am fost acolo, pentru voi, ca să credeţi. Dar acum, haidem să mergem la el.”

and for your sake I am glad that I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.”

Tamás, akit Ikernek neveznek, azt mondta tanítványtársainak: Menjünk el mi is, hogy meghaljunk vele.

Monda azért Tamás, a ki Kettősnek mondatik, az ő tanítványtársainak: Menjünk el mi is, hogy meghaljunk vele.

Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.

Atunci Toma, zis Geamăn, a zis celorlalţi ucenici: „Haidem să mergem şi noi să murim cu El!”

So Thomas, called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, “Let us also go, that we may die with him.”

Amikor Jézus megérkezett, megtudta, hogy Lázár már négy napja a sírban van.

Elmenvén azért Jézus, úgy találá, hogy az már négy napja vala sírban.

Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already.

Când a venit Isus, a aflat că Lazăr era de patru zile în mormânt.

Now when Jesus came, he found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb four days.

Betánia pedig közel volt Jeruzsálemhez, mintegy tizenöt futamnyira,

Bethánia pedig közel vala Jeruzsálemhez, mintegy tizenöt futamatnyira;

Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:

Şi, fiindcă Betania era aproape de Ierusalim, cam la cincisprezece stadii,

Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles off,

és a zsidók közül sokan mentek Mártához és Máriához, hogy vigasztalják őket testvérük miatt.

And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.

mulţi din iudei veniseră la Marta şi Maria, ca să le mângâie pentru moartea fratelui lor.

and many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to console them concerning their brother.

Márta, amint meghallotta, hogy Jézus jön, elébe ment, Mária pedig otthon maradt.

Mártha azért, a mint hallja vala, hogy Jézus jő, elébe méne; Mária pedig otthon ül vala.

Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.

Când a auzit Marta că vine Isus, I-a ieşit înainte; iar Maria şedea în casă.

So when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, but Mary remained seated in the house.

Márta akkor azt mondta Jézusnak: Uram, ha itt lettél volna, nem halt volna meg a testvérem!

Monda azért Mártha Jézusnak: Uram, ha itt lettél volna, nem halt volna meg a testvérem.

Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

Marta a zis lui Isus: „Doamne, dacă ai fi fost aici, n-ar fi murit fratele meu!

Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.

De most is tudom, hogy amit csak kérsz Istentől, megadja neked.

De most is tudom, hogy a mit csak kérsz az Istentől, megadja néked az Isten.

But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.

Dar şi acum, ştiu că orice vei cere de la Dumnezeu Îţi va da Dumnezeu.”

But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.”

Jézus azt mondta neki: Feltámad a testvéred.

Monda néki Jézus: Feltámad a te testvéred.

Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.

Isus i-a zis: „Fratele tău va învia.”

Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”

Márta így válaszolt: Tudom, hogy feltámad a feltámadáskor, az utolsó napon.

Monda néki Mártha: Tudom, hogy feltámad a feltámadáskor az utolsó napon.

Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

„Ştiu”, I-a răspuns Marta, „că va învia la înviere, în ziua de apoi.”

Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.”

Ekkor Jézus azt mondta: Én vagyok a feltámadás és az élet, aki hisz énbennem, ha meghal is, él,

Monda néki Jézus: Én vagyok a feltámadás és az élet: a ki hisz én bennem, ha meghal is, él;

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

Isus i-a zis: „Eu sunt Învierea şi Viaţa. Cine crede în Mine, chiar dacă ar fi murit, va trăi.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,

és mindenki, aki él, és hisz énbennem, soha meg nem hal. Hiszed-e ezt?

És a ki csak él és hisz én bennem, soha meg nem hal. Hiszed-é ezt?

And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Şi oricine trăieşte şi crede în Mine nu va muri niciodată. Crezi lucrul acesta?”

and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

Azt mondta neki: Igen, Uram, én hiszem, hogy te vagy a Krisztus, az Isten Fia, akinek el kellett jönnie a világra.

Monda néki: Igen Uram, én hiszem, hogy te vagy a Krisztus, az Istennek Fia, a ki e világra jövendő vala.

She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.

„Da, Doamne”, I-a zis ea, „cred că Tu eşti Hristosul, Fiul lui Dumnezeu, care trebuia să vină în lume.”

She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.”

És miután ezeket mondta, elment, és titokban szólt testvérének, Máriának: A Mester itt van, és hív téged.

És a mint ezeket mondotta vala, elméne, és titkon szólítá az ő testvérét Máriát, mondván: A Mester itt van és hív téged.

And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.

După ce a spus aceste vorbe, s-a dus şi a chemat în taină pe sora sa Maria şi i-a zis: „A venit Învăţătorul şi te cheamă.”

When she had said this, she went and called her sister Mary, saying in private, “The Teacher is here and is calling for you.”

Ő pedig, amint ezt hallotta, gyorsan felkelt, és elment hozzá.

Mihelyt ez hallá, felkele hamar és hozzá méne.

As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto him.

Maria, cum a auzit, s-a sculat iute şi s-a dus la El.

And when she heard it, she rose quickly and went to him.

Jézus pedig még nem ért a faluba, hanem azon a helyen volt, ahol Mártával találkozott.

Jézus pedig nem ment vala még be a faluba, hanem azon a helyen vala, a hová Mártha elébe ment vala.

Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him.

Căci Isus nu intrase încă în sat, ci era tot în locul unde Îl întâmpinase Marta.

Now Jesus had not yet come into the village, but was still in the place where Martha had met him.

A zsidók, akik vele voltak a házban, és vigasztalták őt, látták, hogy Mária hirtelen felkel és kimegy. Követték őt, azt gondolván, hogy a sírhoz megy, hogy ott sírjon.

A zsidók azért, a kik ő vele otthon valának és vigasztalák őt, látván, hogy Mária hamar felkél és kimegy vala, utána menének, ezt mondván: A sírhoz megy, hogy ott sírjon.

The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there.

Iudeii care erau cu Maria în casă şi o mângâiau, când au văzut-o sculându-se iute şi ieşind afară, au mers după ea, căci ziceau: „Se duce la mormânt, ca să plângă acolo.”

When the Jews who were with her in the house, consoling her, saw Mary rise quickly and go out, they followed her, supposing that she was going to the tomb to weep there.

Mária pedig, amint odaért, ahol Jézus volt, meglátta őt, a lábához borult, és azt mondta neki: Uram, ha itt lettél volna, nem halt volna meg a testvérem!

Mária azért, a mint oda ére, a hol Jézus vala, meglátván őt, az ő lábaihoz esék, mondván néki: Uram, ha itt voltál volna, nem halt volna meg az én testvérem.

Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

Maria, când a ajuns unde era Isus şi L-a văzut, s-a aruncat la picioarele Lui şi I-a zis: „Doamne, dacă ai fi fost aici, n-ar fi murit fratele meu.”

Now when Mary came to where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet, saying to him, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”

Amikor Jézus látta, hogy sír, és sírnak a vele jött zsidók is, lelke mélyéig felindult és megrendült.

Jézus azért, a mint látja vala, hogy az sír és sírnak a vele jött zsidók [is,] elbúsula lelkében és igen megrendüle.

When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled.

Isus, când a văzut-o plângând, pe ea şi pe iudeii care veniseră cu ea, S-a înfiorat în duhul Lui şi S-a tulburat.

When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in his spirit and greatly troubled.

Azt kérdezte: Hová helyeztétek őt? Azt mondták neki: Jöjj, Uram, és lásd meg!

És monda: Hová helyeztétek őt? Mondának néki: Uram, jer és lásd meg!

And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.

Şi a zis: „Unde l-aţi pus?” „Doamne”, I-au răspuns ei, „vino şi vezi.”

And he said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to him, “Lord, come and see.”

Akkor könnyekre fakadt Jézus,

Könnyekre fakadt Jézus.

Jesus wept.

Isus plângea.

Jesus wept.

a zsidók pedig azt mondták: Íme, mennyire szerette!

Mondának azért a zsidók: Ímé, mennyire szerette őt!

Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!

Atunci iudeii au zis: „Iată cât îl iubea de mult!”

So the Jews said, “See how he loved him!”

Némelyek közülük azt mondták: Nemde megtehette volna, aki a vak szemét megnyitotta, hogy ez ne haljon meg?

Némelyek pedig mondának közülök: Nem megtehette volna-é ez, a ki a vaknak szemét felnyitotta, hogy ez ne haljon meg?

And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?

Şi unii din ei au zis: „El, care a deschis ochii orbului, nu putea face ca nici omul acesta să nu moară?”

But some of them said, “Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man also have kept this man from dying?”

Jézus pedig még mindig mélyen felindulva odament a sírhoz. Az pedig egy barlang volt, és egy kő feküdt rajta.

Jézus pedig újra felindulva magában, oda megy vala a sírhoz. Az pedig egy üreg vala, és kő feküvék rajta.

Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.

Isus S-a înfiorat din nou în Sine şi S-a dus la mormânt. Mormântul era o peşteră la intrarea căreia era aşezată o piatră.

Then Jesus, deeply moved again, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it.

Azt mondta Jézus: Vegyétek el a követ! Az elhunyt nővére, Márta pedig azt mondta: Uram, már szaga van, hiszen negyednapos!

Monda Jézus: Vegyétek el a követ. Monda néki a megholtnak nőtestvére, Mártha: Uram, immár szaga van, hiszen negyednapos.

Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.

„Daţi piatra la o parte”, a zis Isus. Marta, sora mortului, I-a zis: „Doamne, miroase greu, căci este mort de patru zile.”

Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of the dead man, said to him, “Lord, by this time there will be an odor, for he has been dead four days.”

Mire Jézus így válaszolt: Nemde megmondtam neked, hogy ha hiszel, meglátod majd Isten dicsőségét?

Monda néki Jézus: Nem mondtam-é néked, hogy ha hiszel, meglátod majd az Istennek dicsőségét?

Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?

Isus i-a zis: „Nu ţi-am spus că, dacă vei crede, vei vedea slava lui Dumnezeu?”

Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?”

Akkor elmozdították a követ. Jézus pedig felemelte a szemét az égre, és azt mondta: Atyám, hálát adok neked, hogy meghallgattál engem.

Elvevék azért a követ onnan, a hol a megholt feküszik vala. Jézus pedig felemelé szemeit az égre, és monda: Atyám, hálát adok néked, hogy meghallgattál engem.

Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.

Au luat, dar, piatra din locul unde zăcea mortul. Şi Isus a ridicat ochii în sus şi a zis: „Tată, Îţi mulţumesc că M-ai ascultat.

So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me.

Tudtam, hogy mindenkor meghallgatsz engem, csak a körülálló sokaság miatt mondtam, hogy elhiggyék, hogy te küldtél engem.

Tudtam is én, hogy te mindenkor meghallgatsz engem; csak a körülálló sokaságért mondtam, hogy elhigyjék, hogy te küldtél engem.

And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.

Ştiam că totdeauna Mă asculţi; dar vorbesc astfel pentru norodul care stă împrejur, ca să creadă că Tu M-ai trimis.”

I knew that you always hear me, but I said this on account of the people standing around, that they may believe that you sent me.”

Miután ezeket mondta, hangosan kiáltott: Lázár, jöjj ki!

És mikor ezeket mondá, fenszóval kiálta: Lázár, jőjj ki!

And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

După ce a zis aceste vorbe, a strigat cu glas tare: „Lazăre, vino afară!”

When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out.”

És kijött a halott, keze-lába pólyába csavarva és az arca kendővel körülkötve. Akkor így szólt hozzájuk Jézus: Vegyétek le róla, hadd menjen!

És kijöve a megholt, lábain és kezein kötelékekkel megkötözve, és az orczája kendővel vala leborítva. Monda nékik Jézus: Oldozzátok meg őt, és hagyjátok menni.

And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

Şi mortul a ieşit cu mâinile şi picioarele legate cu fâşii de pânză şi cu faţa înfăşurată cu un ştergar. Isus le-a zis: „Dezlegaţi-l şi lăsaţi-l să meargă.”

The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”

Sokan hittek akkor benne azok közül a zsidók közül, akik Máriához mentek, és látták, amit tett.

Sokan hivének azért ő benne ama zsidók közül, a kik Máriához mentek vala, és láták, a miket cselekedett vala.

Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.

Mulţi din iudeii care veniseră la Maria, când au văzut ce a făcut Isus, au crezut în El.

Many of the Jews therefore, who had come with Mary and had seen what he did, believed in him,

Némelyek pedig közülük elmentek a farizeusokhoz, és elmondták nekik, mit tett Jézus.

De némelyek azok közül elmenének a farizeusokhoz, és elbeszélék nékik, a miket Jézus cselekedett vala.

But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.

Dar unii din ei s-au dus la farisei şi le-au spus ce făcuse Isus.

but some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done.

Akkor a főpapok és a farizeusok összehívták a nagytanácsot, és így szóltak: Mit tegyünk? Ez az ember sok csodajelet tesz.

Egybegyűjték azért a papifejedelmek és a farizeusok a főtanácsot, és mondának: Mit cselekedjünk? mert ez az ember sok csodát mível.

Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.

Atunci preoţii cei mai de seamă şi fariseii au adunat soborul şi au zis: „Ce vom face? Omul acesta face multe minuni.

So the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered the council and said, “What are we to do? For this man performs many signs.

Közülük az egyik, Kajafás, aki főpap volt abban az esztendőben, azt mondta nekik: Ti semmit sem tudtok!

Egy pedig ő közülök, Kajafás, a ki főpap vala abban az esztendőben, monda nékik: Ti semmit sem tudtok.

And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,

Unul din ei, Caiafa, care era mare preot în anul acela, le-a zis: „Voi nu ştiţi nimic;

But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all.

Meg sem gondoljátok, hogy jobb nektek, hogy egy ember haljon meg a népért, mint hogy az egész nép elvesszen.

Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.

oare nu vă gândiţi că este în folosul vostru să moară un singur om pentru norod, şi să nu piară tot neamul?”

Nor do you understand that it is better for you that one man should die for the people, not that the whole nation should perish.”

Ezt pedig nem magától mondta, hanem mert abban az esztendőben főpap volt, és megjövendölte, hogy Jézus meg fog halni a népért,

Ezt pedig nem magától mondta: hanem mivelhogy abban az esztendőben főpap vala, jövendőt monda, hogy Jézus meg fog halni a népért;

And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;

Dar lucrul acesta nu l-a spus de la el; ci, fiindcă era mare preot în anul acela, a prorocit că Isus avea să moară pentru neam.

He did not say this of his own accord, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation,

és nemcsak a népért, hanem azért is, hogy Isten szétszóródott gyermekeit egybegyűjtse.

És nemcsak a népért, hanem azért is, hogy az Istennek elszéledt gyermekeit egybegyűjtse.

And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.

Şi nu numai pentru neamul acela, ci şi ca să adune într-un singur trup pe copiii lui Dumnezeu cei risipiţi.

Attól a naptól fogva egyetértettek abban, hogy megölik.

Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.

Jézus azért nem járt többé nyilvánosan a zsidók között, hanem elment onnan a pusztához közeli vidékre, egy Efraim nevű városba, és ott tartózkodott a tanítványaival.

Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence unto a country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with his disciples.

De aceea Isus nu mai umbla pe faţă printre iudei; ci a plecat de acolo în ţinutul de lângă pustiu, într-o cetate numită Efraim; şi a rămas acolo împreună cu ucenicii Săi.

Jesus therefore no longer walked openly among the Jews, but went from there to the region near the wilderness, to a town called Ephraim, and there he stayed with the disciples.

Közel volt pedig a zsidók húsvétja, és a vidékről sokan mentek fel Jeruzsálembe húsvét előtt, hogy megtisztuljanak.

And the Jews' passover was nigh at hand: and many went out of the country up to Jerusalem before the passover, to purify themselves.

Paştile iudeilor era aproape. Şi mulţi oameni din ţinutul acela s-au suit la Ierusalim, înainte de Paşti, ca să se cureţe.

Keresték azért Jézust, és a templomban állva egymás között így beszéltek: Mit gondoltok, már fel se jön az ünnepre?

Then sought they for Jesus, and spake among themselves, as they stood in the temple, What think ye, that he will not come to the feast?

Ei căutau pe Isus şi vorbeau unii cu alţii în Templu: „Ce credeţi? N-are să vină la praznic?”

They were looking for Jesus and saying to one another as they stood in the temple, “What do you think? That he will not come to the feast at all?”

A főpapok és a farizeusok pedig parancsot adtak, hogy ha valaki megtudja, hol van, jelentse, hogy elfoghassák.

Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should shew it, that they might take him.

Iar preoţii cei mai de seamă şi fariseii porunciseră că, dacă va şti cineva unde este, să le dea de ştire ca să-L prindă.

Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that if anyone knew where he was, he should let them know, so that they might arrest him.
