- Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.

- Amikor Jézus ezt meghallotta, azt mondta: Ez a betegség nem halálos, hanem az Isten dicsőségére van, hogy általa megdicsőüljön az Isten Fia.

- When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.

- When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.

- So, when he heard that Lazarus was ill, he stayed two days longer in the place where he was.

- Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again.

- His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?
- „Învăţătorule”, I-au zis ucenicii, „acum de curând căutau iudeii să Te ucidă cu pietre, şi Te întorci în Iudeea?”
- The disciples said to him, “Rabbi, the Jews were just now seeking to stone you, and are you going there again?”

- Jézus azt felelte: Nemde tizenkét órája van a nappalnak? Ha valaki nappal jár, nem botlik meg, mert látja a világ világosságát,
- Felele Jézus: Avagy nem tizenkét órája van-é a napnak? Ha valaki nappal jár, nem botlik meg, mert látja e világnak világosságát.
- Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.

- Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.

- These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

- After saying these things, he said to them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I go to awaken him.”

- And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.

- Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.

- So when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, but Mary remained seated in the house.

- Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

- Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.

- De most is tudom, hogy amit csak kérsz Istentől, megadja neked.

- But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.
- Dar şi acum, ştiu că orice vei cere de la Dumnezeu Îţi va da Dumnezeu.”
- But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.”

- Jézus azt mondta neki: Feltámad a testvéred.

- Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.

- Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

- Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

- And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

- and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

- She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.
- „Da, Doamne”, I-a zis ea, „cred că Tu eşti Hristosul, Fiul lui Dumnezeu, care trebuia să vină în lume.”
- She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.”

- És miután ezeket mondta, elment, és titokban szólt testvérének, Máriának: A Mester itt van, és hív téged.

- And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.

- When she had said this, she went and called her sister Mary, saying in private, “The Teacher is here and is calling for you.”

- As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto him.

- And when she heard it, she rose quickly and went to him.

- Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him.

- The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there.

- Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

- When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled.

- Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.

- Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of the dead man, said to him, “Lord, by this time there will be an odor, for he has been dead four days.”

- Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?

- Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?”

- Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.

- So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me.

- And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.

- And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

- When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out.”

- And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

- The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”

- But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.
