Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.

Six days before the Passover, Jesus therefore came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead.

There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.

So they gave a dinner for him there. Martha served, and Lazarus was one of those reclining with him at table.

Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.

Mary therefore took a pound of expensive ointment made from pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray him,

This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.

He said this, not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief, and having charge of the moneybag he used to help himself to what was put into it.

Jézus erre azt mondta: Hagyj békét neki, mert a temetésem idejére tartogatta ezt.

Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.

Jesus said, “Leave her alone, so that she may keep it for the day of my burial.

For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.

For the poor you always have with you, but you do not always have me.”

A zsidók közül nagyon sokan értesültek arról, hogy ő ott van, és nemcsak Jézus miatt mentek oda, hanem azért is, hogy lássák Lázárt, akit feltámasztott a halálból.

A zsidók közül azért nagy sokaság értesült vala arról, hogy ő ott van: és oda menének nemcsak Jézusért, hanem hogy Lázárt is lássák, a kit feltámasztott a halálból.

Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.

O mare mulţime de iudei au aflat că Isus era în Betania; şi au venit acolo, nu numai pentru Isus, ci ca să vadă şi pe Lazăr, pe care-l înviase din morţi.

When the large crowd of the Jews learned that Jesus was there, they came, not only on account of him but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead.

A főpapok pedig elhatározták, hogy Lázárt is megölik,

But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;

So the chief priests made plans to put Lazarus to death as well,

Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.

Másnap, amikor az ünnepre érkező nagy sokaság meghallotta, hogy Jézus Jeruzsálembe jön,

On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,

The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem.

pálmaágakat szedett, kiment elébe, és így kiáltozott: Hozsánna! Áldott, aki jön az Úr nevében, az Izráel Királya!

Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.

So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!”

And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,

Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt.

“Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt!”

Ezeket eleinte nem értették a tanítványai, de miután megdicsőült Jézus, visszaemlékeztek arra, hogy amik meg vannak írva felőle, azok történtek meg vele.

Ezeket pedig nem értették eleinte az ő tanítványai: hanem mikor megdicsőítteték Jézus, akkor emlékezének vissza, hogy ezek ő felőle vannak megírva, és [hogy] ezeket mívelték ő vele.

These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.

His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about him and had been done to him.

The crowd that had been with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to bear witness.

For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle.

Şi norodul I-a ieşit în întâmpinare, pentru că aflase că făcuse semnul acesta.

The reason why the crowd went to meet him was that they heard he had done this sign.

A farizeusok pedig egymás között így beszéltek: Látjátok, hogy semmit sem értetek el? Íme, a világ őt követi!

Mondának azért a farizeusok egymás között: Látjátok-é, hogy semmit sem értek? Ímé, [mind] e világ ő utána megy.

The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.

Fariseii au zis deci între ei: „Vedeţi că nu câştigaţi nimic: iată că lumea se duce după El!”

So the Pharisees said to one another, “You see that you are gaining nothing. Look, the world has gone after him.”

And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast:

Now among those who went up to worship at the feast were some Greeks.

Ezek a galileai Bétsaidából való Fülöphöz mentek, és kérték őt: Uram, látni akarjuk Jézust.

Ezek azért a galileai Bethsaidából való Filephez menének, és kérék őt, mondván: Uram, látni akarjuk a Jézust.

The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.

So these came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and asked him, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus.”

Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.

Philip went and told Andrew; Andrew and Philip went and told Jesus.

Jézus pedig így felelt nekik: Eljött az óra, hogy megdicsőíttessék az Emberfia.

Jézus pedig felele nékik, mondván: Eljött az óra, hogy megdicsőíttessék az embernek Fia.

And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.

Drept răspuns, Isus le-a zis: „A sosit ceasul să fie proslăvit Fiul omului.

And Jesus answered them, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.

Bizony, bizony mondom nektek, ha a búzaszem földbe nem hull, és el nem hal, csak egymaga marad, ha pedig elhal, sok termést hoz.

Bizony, bizony mondom néktek: Ha a földbe esett gabonamag el nem hal, csak egymaga marad; ha pedig elhal, sok gyümölcsöt terem.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

Adevărat, adevărat vă spun că dacă grăuntele de grâu care a căzut pe pământ nu moare, rămâne singur; dar dacă moare, aduce mult rod.

Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.

Aki szereti a maga életét, elveszti azt, és aki gyűlöli a maga életét e világon, örök életre tartja meg azt.

He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

Cine îşi iubeşte viaţa o va pierde; şi cine îşi urăşte viaţa în lumea aceasta o va păstra pentru viaţa veşnică.

Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

Ha valaki nekem szolgál, engem kövessen, és ahol én vagyok, ott lesz az én szolgám is, és ha valaki nekem szolgál, azt megbecsüli az Atya.

A ki nékem szolgál, engem kövessen; és a hol én vagyok, ott lesz az én szolgám is: és a ki nékem szolgál, megbecsüli azt az Atya.

If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

Dacă Îmi slujeşte cineva, să Mă urmeze; şi unde sunt Eu, acolo va fi şi slujitorul Meu. Dacă Îmi slujeşte cineva, Tatăl îl va cinsti.

If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.

Most az én lelkem háborog, és mit mondjak? Atyám, ments meg engem ettől az órától? De hiszen ezért az óráért jöttem.

Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.

“Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But for this purpose I have come to this hour.

Atyám, dicsőítsd meg a te nevedet! És hang hallatszott az égből: Megdicsőítettem, és újra megdicsőítem.

Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”

The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.

The crowd that stood there and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to him.”

Jézus pedig azt mondta: Nem értem lett ez a hang, hanem értetek.

Felele Jézus és monda: Nem én érettem lőn e szó, hanem ti érettetek.

Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.

Isus a răspuns: „Nu pentru Mine s-a auzit glasul acesta, ci pentru voi.

Jesus answered, “This voice has come for your sake, not mine.

Most történik e világ elítélése, most vettetik ki e világ fejedelme.

Most van e világ kárhoztatása; most vettetik ki e világ fejedelme:

Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

Acum are loc judecata lumii acesteia, acum stăpânitorul lumii acesteia va fi aruncat afară.

Now is the judgment of this world; now will the ruler of this world be cast out.

Én pedig, ha fölemeltetem e földről, mindeneket magamhoz vonzok.

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Şi după ce voi fi înălţat de pe pământ, voi atrage la Mine pe toţi oamenii.” –

And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”

Ezt pedig azért mondta, hogy jelezze, milyen halállal fog meghalni.

Ezt pedig azért mondá, hogy megjelentse, milyen halállal kell meghalnia.

This he said, signifying what death he should die.

Vorbind astfel, arăta cu ce moarte avea să moară. –

He said this to show by what kind of death he was going to die.

A sokaság azt mondta: Mi azt hallottuk a törvényből, hogy a Krisztus örökké megmarad. Akkor hogyan mondhatod, hogy az Emberfiának fel kell emeltetnie? Ki ez az Emberfia?

The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?

So the crowd answered him, “We have heard from the Law that the Christ remains forever. How can you say that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?”

Jézus pedig azt mondta nekik: Még egy kevés ideig közöttetek van a világosság. Járjatok, amíg világosságotok van, hogy a sötétség el ne borítson titeket, mert aki a sötétségben jár, nem tudja, hova megy.

Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

Isus le-a zis: „Lumina mai este puţină vreme în mijlocul vostru. Umblaţi ca unii care aveţi lumina, ca să nu vă cuprindă întunericul; cine umblă în întuneric nu ştie unde merge.

So Jesus said to them, “The light is among you for a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going.

Higgyetek a világosságban, amíg veletek van a világosság, hogy a világosság fiai legyetek. Ezeket mondta Jézus, majd elment, és elrejtőzött előlük.

Míg a világosságotok megvan, higyjetek a világosságban, hogy a világosság fiai legyetek. Ezeket mondá Jézus, és elmenvén, elrejtőzködék előlük.

While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.

Câtă vreme aveţi Lumina printre voi, credeţi în Lumină, ca să fiţi fii ai luminii.” Isus le-a spus aceste lucruri, apoi a plecat şi S-a ascuns de ei.

While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” When Jesus had said these things, he departed and hid himself from them.

És noha ennyi jelt tett előttük, mégsem hittek benne,

But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:

Though he had done so many signs before them, they still did not believe in him,

hogy beteljesedjék Ézsaiás próféta beszéde, amelyet mondott: Uram, ki hitt a mi szavunknak, és az Úr karja kinek jelentetett meg?

Hogy beteljesedjék az Ésaiás próféta beszéde, a melyet monda: Uram, ki hitt a mi tanításunknak? és az Úr karja kinek jelentetett meg?

That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?

ca să se împlinească vorba pe care o spusese prorocul Isaia: „Doamne, cine a dat crezare propovăduirii noastre? Şi cui a fost descoperită puterea braţului Domnului?”

so that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: “Lord, who has believed what he heard from us, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”

Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,

Megvakította szemüket, és megkeményítette szívüket, hogy szemükkel ne lássanak, és szívükkel ne értsenek, és meg ne térjenek, és meg ne gyógyítsam őket.

He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

„Le-a orbit ochii şi le-a împietrit inima, ca să nu vadă cu ochii, să nu înţeleagă cu inima, să nu se întoarcă la Dumnezeu, şi să-i vindec.”

“He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, lest they see with their eyes, and understand with their heart, and turn, and I would heal them.”

Ezeket mondta Ézsaiás, amikor látta az ő dicsőségét, és őróla szólt.

These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.

Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:

Nevertheless, many even of the authorities believed in him, but for fear of the Pharisees they did not confess it, so that they would not be put out of the synagogue;

For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

Jézus pedig így kiáltott: Aki hisz énbennem, nem énbennem hisz, hanem abban, aki elküldött engem,

Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.

Iar Isus a strigat: „Cine crede în Mine nu crede în Mine, ci în Cel ce M-a trimis pe Mine.

And Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me.

és aki lát engem, az azt látja, aki küldött engem.

És a ki engem lát, azt látja, a ki küldött engem.

And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.

Şi cine Mă vede pe Mine vede pe Cel ce M-a trimis pe Mine.

And whoever sees me sees him who sent me.

Én világosságul jöttem e világra, hogy aki hisz bennem, ne maradjon sötétségben.

Én világosságul jöttem e világra, hogy senki ne maradjon a sötétségben, a ki én bennem hisz.

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

Eu am venit ca să fiu o lumină în lume, pentru ca oricine crede în Mine să nu rămână în întuneric.

I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.

Ha valaki hallja az én beszédemet, és nem tartja meg, én nem ítélem el, mert nem azért jöttem, hogy elítéljem a világot, hanem hogy megmentsem.

És ha valaki hallja az én beszédeimet és nem hisz, én nem kárhoztatom azt: mert nem azért jöttem, hogy kárhoztassam a világot, hanem hogy megtartsam a világot.

And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

Dacă aude cineva cuvintele Mele, şi nu le păzeşte, nu Eu îl judec; căci Eu n-am venit să judec lumea, ci să mântuiesc lumea.

If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.

Aki megvet engem, és nem fogadja be az én beszédeimet, van annak ítélőbírája: az a beszéd, amelyet szóltam, az ítéli el majd az utolsó napon.

A ki megvet engem és nem veszi be az én beszédeimet, van annak, a ki őt kárhoztassa: a beszéd, a melyet szólottam, az kárhoztatja azt az utolsó napon.

He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

Pe cine Mă nesocoteşte şi nu primeşte cuvintele Mele, are cine-l osândi: Cuvântul pe care l-am vestit Eu, acela îl va osândi în ziua de apoi.

The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.

Mert én nem magamtól szóltam, hanem az Atya, aki elküldött engem, ő parancsolta nekem, hogy mit mondjak, és mit szóljak.

Mert én nem magamtól szóltam; hanem az Atya, a ki küldött engem, ő parancsolta nékem, hogy mit mondjak és mit beszéljek.

For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

Căci Eu n-am vorbit de la Mine însumi, ci Tatăl, care M-a trimis, El însuşi Mi-a poruncit ce trebuie să spun şi cum trebuie să vorbesc.

For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment—what to say and what to speak.

Én pedig tudom, hogy az ő parancsolata örök élet. Amit mondok, tehát úgy mondom, ahogyan az Atya mondta nekem.

És tudom, hogy az ő parancsolata örök élet. A miket azért én beszélek, úgy beszélem, a mint az Atya mondotta vala nékem.

And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

Şi ştiu că porunca Lui este viaţa veşnică. De aceea lucrurile pe care le spun, le spun aşa cum Mi le-a spus Tatăl.”

And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has told me.”
