Jézus ezek után Galileát járta, és nem akart Júdeába menni, mert ott a zsidók meg akarták ölni.

És ezek után Galileában jár vala Jézus; mert nem akar vala Júdeában járni, mivelhogy azon igyekezének a Júdeabeliek, hogy őt megöljék.

After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.

După aceea Isus străbătea Galileea; nu voia să stea în Iudeea, pentru că iudeii căutau să-L omoare.

After this Jesus went about in Galilee. He would not go about in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill him.

Közel volt a zsidók ünnepe, a lombsátorünnep.

Közel vala pedig a zsidók ünnepe, a sátoros ünnep.

Now the Jew's feast of tabernacles was at hand.

Şi praznicul iudeilor, praznicul zis al Corturilor, era aproape.

Now the Jews’ Feast of Booths was at hand.

Testvérei azért azt mondták neki: Menj el innen, és térj vissza Júdeába, hogy tanítványaid is lássák tetteidet, amelyeket cselekszel!

Mondának azért néki az ő atyjafiai: Menj el innen, és térj Júdeába, hogy a te tanítványaid is lássák a te dolgaidat, a melyeket cselekszel.

His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.

Fraţii Lui I-au zis: „Pleacă de aici şi du-Te în Iudeea, ca să vadă şi ucenicii Tăi lucrările pe care le faci.

So his brothers said to him, “Leave here and go to Judea, that your disciples also may see the works you are doing.

Mert senki sem cselekszik titokban, aki a nyilvánosság előtt ismertté akar válni. Ha ilyeneket teszel, mutasd meg magadat a világnak.

Mert senki sem cselekszik titkon semmit, a ki maga ismeretessé akar lenni. Ha ilyeneket cselekszel, mutasd meg magadat a világnak.

For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.

Nimeni nu face ceva în ascuns, când caută să se facă cunoscut: dacă faci aceste lucruri, arată-Te lumii.”

For no one works in secret if he seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, show yourself to the world.”

Mert saját testvérei sem hittek benne.

Mert az ő atyjafiai sem hivének benne.

For neither did his brethren believe in him.

Căci nici fraţii Lui nu credeau în El.

For not even his brothers believed in him.

De Jézus azt mondta nekik: Az én időm még nem érkezett el, nektek azonban minden idő alkalmas.

Monda azért nékik Jézus: Az én időm még nincs itt; a ti időtök pedig mindig készen van.

Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.

Isus le-a zis: „Vremea Mea n-a sosit încă, dar vouă vremea totdeauna vă este prielnică.

Jesus said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always here.

Titeket nem gyűlölhet a világ, de engem gyűlöl, mert én arról teszek bizonyságot, hogy cselekedetei gonoszak.

Titeket nem gyűlölhet a világ, de engem gyűlöl; mert én bizonyságot teszek felőle, hogy az ő cselekedetei gonoszak.

The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.

Pe voi lumea nu vă poate urî; pe Mine Mă urăşte, pentru că mărturisesc despre ea că lucrările ei sunt rele.

The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify about it that its works are evil.

Ti menjetek fel az ünnepre, én még nem megyek fel erre az ünnepre, mert az én időm még nem telt be.

Ti menjetek fel erre az ünnepre: én még nem megyek fel erre az ünnepre; mert az én időm még nem tölt be.

Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast: for my time is not yet full come.

Suiţi-vă voi la praznicul acesta; Eu încă nu Mă sui la praznicul acesta, fiindcă nu Mi s-a împlinit încă vremea.”

You go up to the feast. I am not going up to this feast, for my time has not yet fully come.”

Ezt mondta nekik, és Galileában maradt.

Ezeket mondván pedig nékik, marada Galileában.

When he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Galilee.

După ce le-a spus aceste lucruri, a rămas în Galileea.

After saying this, he remained in Galilee.

Amikor azonban a testvérei már elmentek, akkor ő is fölment az ünnepre, de nem nyilvánosan, hanem titokban.

A mint pedig felmenének az ő atyjafiai, akkor ő is felméne az ünnepre, nem nyilvánosan, hanem mintegy titkon.

But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

După ce s-au suit fraţii Lui la praznic, S-a suit şi El, dar nu pe faţă, ci cam pe ascuns.

But after his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he also went up, not publicly but in private.

A zsidók pedig keresték őt az ünnepen, és kérdezgették: Hol van ő?

A zsidók azért keresik vala őt az ünnepen, és mondának: Hol van ő?

Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?

Iudeii Îl căutau în timpul praznicului şi ziceau: „Unde este?”

The Jews were looking for him at the feast, and saying, “Where is he?”

A tömegben nagy zúgolódás támadt miatta. Némelyek azt mondták, hogy jó ember, mások pedig azt mondták, hogy nem az, hanem félrevezeti a népet.

És a sokaságban nagy zúgás vala ő miatta. Némelyek azt mondják vala, hogy jó ember; mások pedig azt mondják vala: Nem, hanem a népnek hitetője.

And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.

Noroadele vorbeau mult în şoaptă despre El. Unii ziceau: „Este un Om bun.” Alţii ziceau: „Nu, ci duce norodul în rătăcire.”

And there was much muttering about him among the people. While some said, “He is a good man,” others said, “No, he is leading the people astray.”

De senki sem beszélt nyilvánosan róla a zsidóktól való félelem miatt.

Mindamellett senki sem beszélt vala nyiltan ő felőle a zsidóktól való félelem miatt.

Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews.

Totuşi, de frica iudeilor, nimeni nu vorbea de El pe faţă.

Yet for fear of the Jews no one spoke openly of him.

Már az ünnep közepe volt, amikor Jézus fölment a templomba, és tanított.

Már-már az ünnep közepén azonban felméne Jézus a templomba, és tanít vala.

Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.

Pe la jumătatea praznicului, Isus S-a suit la Templu. Şi învăţa norodul.

About the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and began teaching.

A zsidók csodálkozva mondták: Honnan ismeri ez az Írásokat, holott nem tanulta?

És csodálkozának a zsidók, mondván: Mimódon tudja ez az írásokat, holott nem tanulta?!

And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?

Iudeii se mirau şi ziceau: „Cum are Omul acesta învăţătură, căci n-a învăţat niciodată?”

The Jews therefore marveled, saying, “How is it that this man has learning, when he has never studied?”

Jézus pedig így válaszolt: Az én tanításom nem az enyém, hanem azé, aki küldött engem.

Felele nékik Jézus és monda: Az én tudományom nem az enyém, hanem azé, a ki küldött engem.

Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

Isus le-a răspuns: „Învăţătura Mea nu este a Mea, ci a Celui ce M-a trimis pe Mine.

So Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.

Ha valaki cselekedni akarja az ő akaratát, megismerheti erről a tanításról, hogy Istentől van-e, vagy én magamtól szólok.

Ha valaki cselekedni akarja az ő akaratát, megismerheti e tudományról, vajjon Istentől van-é, vagy én magamtól szólok?

If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

Dacă vrea cineva să facă voia Lui, va ajunge să cunoască dacă învăţătura este de la Dumnezeu sau dacă Eu vorbesc de la Mine.

If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.

Aki magától szól, az a saját dicsőségét keresi; aki annak dicsőségét keresi, aki őt elküldte, az igaz, és abban nincs hamisság.

A ki magától szól, a maga dicsőségét keresi; a ki pedig annak dicsőségét keresi, a ki küldte őt, igaz az, és nincs abban hamisság.

He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

Cine vorbeşte de la sine caută slava lui însuşi; dar cine caută slava Celui ce L-a trimis, Acela este adevărat, şi în El nu este strâmbătate.

The one who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood.

Nem Mózes adta nektek a törvényt? De közületek senki sem tartja meg a törvényt. Miért akartok engem megölni?

Nem Mózes adta-é néktek a törvényt? és senki sem teljesíti közületek a törvényt. Miért akartok engem megölni?

Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?

Oare nu v-a dat Moise Legea? Totuşi nimeni din voi nu ţine Legea. De ce căutaţi să Mă omorâţi?”

Has not Moses given you the law? Yet none of you keeps the law. Why do you seek to kill me?”

A sokaság pedig azt mondta: Ördög van benned. Ki akar téged megölni?

Felele a sokaság és monda: Ördög van benned. Ki akar téged megölni?

The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?

Norodul I-a răspuns: „Ai drac. Cine caută să Te omoare?”

The crowd answered, “You have a demon! Who is seeking to kill you?”

Jézus erre azt mondta nekik: Egy dolgot tettem, és mindnyájan csodálkoztok rajta.

Felele Jézus és monda nékik: Egy dolgot cselekvém, és mindnyájan csodáljátok.

Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.

Drept răspuns, Isus le-a zis: „O lucrare am făcut, şi toţi vă miraţi de ea.

Jesus answered them, “I did one work, and you all marvel at it.

Mivel Mózes elrendelte nektek a körülmetélkedést – nem mintha az Mózestől való volna, hanem az atyáktól –, szombaton is körülmetélitek az embert.

Azért Mózes adta néktek a körülmetélkedést (nem mintha Mózestől való volna, hanem az atyáktól): és szombaton körülmetélitek az embert.

Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.

Moise v-a dat porunca privitoare la tăierea împrejur – nu că ea vine de la Moise, ci de la patriarhi – şi voi tăiaţi împrejur pe om în ziua Sabatului.

Moses gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath.

Ha pedig körülmetélhető az ember szombaton, hogy meg ne sértsék Mózes törvényét, ti most azért haragszotok rám, mert én egy embert teljes egészében meggyógyítottam szombaton?

Ha körülmetélhető az ember szombaton, hogy a Mózes törvénye meg ne romoljon; én rám haragusztok-é, hogy egy embert egészen meggyógyítottam szombaton?

If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?

Dacă un om primeşte tăierea împrejur în ziua Sabatului, ca să nu se calce Legea lui Moise, de ce turbaţi de mânie împotriva Mea, pentru că am însănătoşit un om întreg în ziua Sabatului?

If on the Sabbath a man receives circumcision, so that the law of Moses may not be broken, are you angry with me because on the Sabbath I made a man’s whole body well?

Ne csak látszatra ítéljetek, hanem mondjatok igazságos ítéletet!

Ne ítéljetek a látszat után, hanem igaz ítélettel ítéljetek!

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

Nu judecaţi după înfăţişare, ci judecaţi după dreptate.”

Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.”

A jeruzsálemiek közül némelyek így beszéltek: Nemde ez az, akit meg akarnak ölni?

Mondának azért némelyek a jeruzsálemiek közül: Nem ez-é az, a kit meg akarnak ölni?

Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill?

Nişte locuitori din Ierusalim ziceau: „Nu este El Acela pe care caută ei să-L omoare?

Some of the people of Jerusalem therefore said, “Is not this the man whom they seek to kill?

És íme, nyilvánosan beszél, és semmit sem szólnak ellene. Talán bizony felismerték a főemberek, hogy ő a Krisztus?

És ímé nyiltan szól, és semmit sem szólnak néki. Talán bizony megismerték a főemberek, hogy bizony ez a Krisztus?

But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?

Şi totuşi iată că vorbeşte pe faţă, şi ei nu-I zic nimic! Nu cumva, în adevăr, cei mai mari vor fi cunoscut că El este Hristosul?

And here he is, speaking openly, and they say nothing to him! Can it be that the authorities really know that this is the Christ?

De erről tudjuk, honnan való, amikor azonban eljön a Krisztus, róla senki sem tudja, honnan való.

De jól tudjuk, honnan való ez; mikor pedig eljő a Krisztus, senki sem tudja, honnan való.

Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.

Dar noi ştim de unde este Omul acesta; însă, când va veni Hristosul, nimeni nu va şti de unde este.”

But we know where this man comes from, and when the Christ appears, no one will know where he comes from.”

Jézus pedig a templomban tanítva így kiáltott: Ti ismertek engem, és azt is tudjátok, honnan való vagyok, de én nem magamtól jöttem, hanem az küldött engem, aki igaz, akit ti nem ismertek.

Kiálta azért Jézus a templomban, tanítván és mondván: Mind engem ismertek, mind azt tudjátok, honnan való vagyok; és én magamtól nem jöttem, de igaz az, a ki engem elküldött, a kit ti nem ismertek.

Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.

Şi Isus, pe când învăţa pe norod în Templu, striga: „Mă cunoaşteţi şi Mă ştiţi de unde sunt! Eu n-am venit de la Mine însumi, ci Cel ce M-a trimis este adevărat, şi voi nu-L cunoaşteţi.

So Jesus proclaimed, as he taught in the temple, “You know me, and you know where I come from. But I have not come of my own accord. He who sent me is true, and him you do not know.

Én azonban ismerem őt, mert tőle vagyok, és ő küldött engem.

Én azonban ismerem őt, mert ő tőle vagyok, és ő küldött engem.

But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me.

Eu Îl cunosc, căci vin de la El, şi El M-a trimis.”

I know him, for I come from him, and he sent me.”

Erre el akarták fogni, de senki sem vetette rá a kezét, mert még nem jött el az ő órája.

Akarják vala azért őt megfogni; de senki sem veté reá a kezét, mert nem jött még el az ő órája.

Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.

Ei căutau deci să-L prindă; şi nimeni n-a pus mâna pe El, căci încă nu-I sosise ceasul.

So they were seeking to arrest him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come.

31

A sokaság közül pedig sokan hittek benne, és azt mondták: a Krisztus, ha majd eljön, tehet-e több csodát annál, mint amennyit ő tett?

A sokaság közül pedig sokan hivének ő benne; és azt mondják vala, hogy: A Krisztus mikor eljő, tehet-é majd több csodát azoknál, a melyeket ez tett?

And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?

Mulţi din norod au crezut în El şi ziceau: „Când va veni Hristosul, va face mai multe semne decât a făcut Omul acesta?”

Yet many of the people believed in him. They said, “When the Christ appears, will he do more signs than this man has done?”

Meghallották a farizeusok, hogy a sokaság ezeket suttogta felőle, és szolgákat küldtek a farizeusok és a főpapok, hogy elfogják.

Meghallák a farizeusok, a mint a sokaság ezeket suttogja vala felőle; és szolgákat küldének a farizeusok és a főpapok, hogy fogják meg őt.

The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.

Fariseii au auzit pe norod spunând în şoaptă aceste lucruri despre El. Atunci preoţii cei mai de seamă şi fariseii au trimis nişte aprozi să-L prindă.

The Pharisees heard the crowd muttering these things about him, and the chief priests and Pharisees sent officers to arrest him.

Ekkor azt mondta nekik Jézus: Még egy kevés ideig veletek vagyok, de majd elmegyek ahhoz, aki elküldött engem.

Monda azért nékik Jézus: Egy kevés ideig még veletek vagyok, és majd ahhoz megyek, a ki elküldött engem.

Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto him that sent me.

Isus a zis: „Mai sunt cu voi puţină vreme, şi apoi Mă duc la Cel ce M-a trimis.

Jesus then said, “I will be with you a little longer, and then I am going to him who sent me.

Kerestek majd engem, de nem találtok meg, mert ahol én vagyok, oda ti nem jöhettek.

Kerestek majd engem, és nem találtok meg, és a hol én vagyok, ti nem jöhettek oda.

Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come.

Voi Mă veţi căuta, şi nu Mă veţi găsi; şi unde voi fi Eu, voi nu puteţi veni.”

You will seek me and you will not find me. Where I am you cannot come.”

A zsidók akkor egymás között így beszéltek: Hová akar ez menni, hogy mi majd nem találjuk meg őt? Vajon a görögök közötti szórványba menne, görögöket tanítani?

Mondának azért a zsidók magok között: Hová akar ez menni, hogy mi majd nem találjuk meg őt? Vajjon a görögök közé szóródottakhoz akar-é menni, és a görögöket tanítani?

Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?

Iudeii au zis între ei: „Unde are de gând să Se ducă Omul acesta, ca să nu-L putem găsi? Doar n-o avea de gând să Se ducă la cei împrăştiaţi printre greci şi să înveţe pe greci?

The Jews said to one another, “Where does this man intend to go that we will not find him? Does he intend to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks and teach the Greeks?

Mit értett azon, amit mondott: „Kerestek majd engem, de nem találtok meg, mert ahol én vagyok, oda ti nem jöhettek?”

Micsoda beszéd ez, a melyet monda: Kerestek majd engem, és nem találtok meg; és a hol én vagyok, ti nem jöhettek oda?

What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come?

Ce înseamnă cuvintele acestea pe care le-a spus: „Mă veţi căuta, şi nu Mă veţi găsi; şi unde voi fi Eu, voi nu puteţi veni”?”

What does he mean by saying, ‘You will seek me and you will not find me,’ and, ‘Where I am you cannot come’?”

Az ünnep utolsó nagy napján pedig felállt Jézus, és így kiáltott: Ha valaki szomjazik, jöjjön hozzám, és igyék!

Az ünnep utolsó nagy napján pedig felálla Jézus és kiálta, mondván: Ha valaki szomjúhozik, jőjjön én hozzám, és igyék.

In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

În ziua de pe urmă, care era ziua cea mare a praznicului, Isus a stat în picioare şi a strigat: „Dacă însetează cineva, să vină la Mine şi să bea.

On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.

Aki hisz bennem, amint az Írás mondta, élő víz folyamai áradnak annak belsejéből.

A ki hisz én bennem, a mint az írás mondotta, élő víznek folyamai ömlenek annak belsejéből.

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Cine crede în Mine, din inima lui vor curge râuri de apă vie, cum zice Scriptura.”

Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’”

Ezt pedig a Lélekről mondta, akit kapnak majd a benne hívők, mert még nem adatott a Szentlélek, mivelhogy Jézus még nem dicsőült meg.

Ezt pedig mondja vala a Lélekről, a melyet veendők valának az ő benne hívők: mert még nem vala Szent Lélek; mivelhogy Jézus még nem dicsőítteték meg.

(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Spunea cuvintele acestea despre Duhul pe care aveau să-L primească cei ce vor crede în El. Căci Duhul Sfânt încă nu fusese dat, fiindcă Isus nu fusese încă proslăvit.

Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

A sokaságból többen, akik hallották ezt a beszédet, azt mondták: Ez valóban próféta.

Sokan azért a sokaság közül, a mint hallák e beszédet, ezt mondják vala: Bizonynyal ez ama Próféta.

Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.

Unii din norod, când au auzit aceste cuvinte, ziceau: „Acesta este cu adevărat Prorocul.”

When they heard these words, some of the people said, “This really is the Prophet.”

Mások azt mondták: Ez a Krisztus. Ismét mások azt kérdezték: Csak nem Galileából jön el a Krisztus?

Némelyek mondának: Ez a Krisztus. Mások pedig mondának: Csak nem Galileából jön el a Krisztus?

Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?

Alţii ziceau: „Acesta este Hristosul.” Şi alţii ziceau: „Cum, din Galileea are să vină Hristosul?

Others said, “This is the Christ.” But some said, “Is the Christ to come from Galilee?

Az Írás nem azt mondja, hogy Dávid magvából való, és Betlehemből, abból a városból jön el a Krisztus, ahol Dávid élt?

Nem az írás mondta-é, hogy a Dávid magvából, és Bethlehemből, ama városból jön el a Krisztus, a hol Dávid vala?

Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?

Nu zice Scriptura că Hristosul are să vină din sămânţa lui David şi din satul Betleem, unde era David?”

Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the offspring of David, and comes from Bethlehem, the village where David was?”

Megosztottság támadt azért miatta a sokaságban.

Hasonlás lőn azért ő miatta a sokaságban.

So there was a division among the people because of him.

So there was a division among the people over him.

Közülük némelyek el akarták fogni, de senki sem vetette rá a kezét.

Némelyek pedig közűlök akarják vala őt megfogni, de senki sem veté reá a kezét.

And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.

Unii din ei voiau să-L prindă; dar nimeni n-a pus mâna pe El.

Some of them wanted to arrest him, but no one laid hands on him.

45

Végül a szolgák visszamentek a főpapokhoz és a farizeusokhoz, akik azt kérdezték tőlük: Miért nem hoztátok ide?

Elmenének azért a szolgák a főpapokhoz és farizeusokhoz; és mondának azok ő nékik: Miért nem hoztátok el őt?

Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?

Aprozii s-au întors deci la preoţii cei mai de seamă şi la farisei. Şi aceştia le-au zis: „De ce nu L-aţi adus?”

The officers then came to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, “Why did you not bring him?”

Felelének azért nékik a farizeusok: Vajjon ti is el vagytok-é hitetve?

Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?

Fariseii le-au răspuns: „Doar n-aţi fi fost duşi şi voi în rătăcire?

The Pharisees answered them, “Have you also been deceived?

De ez a sokaság, amely nem ismeri a törvényt, átkozott!

But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.

Dar norodul acesta, care nu ştie Legea, este blestemat!”

Nikodémus, aki korábban járt nála, és aki közülük való volt, azt kérdezte tőlük:

Monda nékik Nikodémus, a ki éjjel ment vala ő hozzá, a ki egy vala azok közül:

Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,)

Vajon a mi törvényünk elítéli-e az embert, mielőtt ki nem hallgatja, és meg nem tudja, hogy mit tett?

Vajjon a mi törvényünk kárhoztatja-é az embert, ha előbb ki nem hallgatja és nem tudja, hogy mit cselekszik?

Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth?

„Legea noastră osândeşte ea pe un om înainte ca să-l asculte şi să ştie ce face?”

“Does our law judge a man without first giving him a hearing and learning what he does?”

Erre azt mondták neki: Talán te is galileai vagy? Nézz utána, és meglátod, hogy Galileából nem támad próféta.

Felelének és mondának néki: Vajjon te is Galileus vagy-é? Tudakozódjál és lásd meg, hogy Galileából nem támadt próféta.

They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

Drept răspuns, ei i-au zis: „Şi tu eşti din Galileea? Cercetează bine, şi vei vedea că din Galileea nu s-a ridicat niciun proroc.”
