És lőn Saul halála után, mikor Dávid visszatért az Amálekiták legyőzéséből, és Dávid két napig Siklágban időzött:

Now it came to pass after the death of Saul, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Amalekites, and David had abode two days in Ziklag;

După moartea lui Saul, David, după ce bătuse pe amaleciţi, se întorsese de două zile la Ţiclag.

After the death of Saul, when David had returned from striking down the Amalekites, David remained two days in Ziklag.

íme, a harmadik napon egy férfi jött Saul táborából. A ruhája meg volt szaggatva, feje pedig porral volt behintve. Amikor Dávidhoz ért, a földre hullt, és meghajolt.

Ímé a harmadik napon egy férfi jöve a táborból Saultól, és az ő ruhái megszaggatva valának, fején pedig föld vala; és a mikor Dávidhoz ért, leesék a földre, és meghajtá magát.

It came even to pass on the third day, that, behold, a man came out of the camp from Saul with his clothes rent, and earth upon his head: and so it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the earth, and did obeisance.

A treia zi, a venit un om din tabăra lui Saul, cu hainele sfâşiate şi cu capul presărat cu ţărână. Când a ajuns în faţa lui David, s-a aruncat cu faţa la pământ şi s-a închinat.

And on the third day, behold, a man came from Saul’s camp, with his clothes torn and dirt on his head. And when he came to David, he fell to the ground and paid homage.

Dávid megkérdezte: Honnan jössz? Ő így felelt: Izráel táborából menekültem el.

Monda pedig néki Dávid: Honnét jössz? Felele néki: Az Izráel táborából szaladék el.

And David said unto him, From whence comest thou? And he said unto him, Out of the camp of Israel am I escaped.

David i-a zis: „De unde vii?” Şi el i-a răspuns: „Am scăpat din tabăra lui Israel.”

David said to him, “Where do you come from?” And he said to him, “I have escaped from the camp of Israel.”

Dávid azt mondta neki: Kérlek, mondd el nekem, mi történt! Ő pedig elmondta: Megfutamodott a nép a harcból, és közülük igen sokan elestek és meghaltak. Sőt Saul és fia, Jónátán is meghalt.

Monda néki Dávid: Mondd meg kérlek nékem, mint lőn a dolog? Ő pedig felele: Megfutamodék a nép a harczból, és a nép közül nagy sokaság esett el, és meghalának. Sőt Saul is és Jonathán az ő fia meghalának.

And David said unto him, How went the matter? I pray thee, tell me. And he answered, That the people are fled from the battle, and many of the people also are fallen and dead; and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.

David i-a zis: „Spune-mi, ce s-a întâmplat?” Şi el a răspuns: „Poporul a fugit de pe câmpul de bătaie, şi un mare număr de oameni au căzut şi au pierit; chiar şi Saul şi fiul său Ionatan au murit.”

And David said to him, “How did it go? Tell me.” And he answered, “The people fled from the battle, and also many of the people have fallen and are dead, and Saul and his son Jonathan are also dead.”

Ekkor Dávid így szólt a hírhozó ifjúhoz: Honnan tudod, hogy meghalt Saul és a fia, Jónátán?

Dávid pedig mondá az ifjúnak, ki néki [ezt] elbeszélé: Honnan tudod, hogy meghalt Saul és Jonathán az ő fia?

And David said unto the young man that told him, How knowest thou that Saul and Jonathan his son be dead?

David a zis tânărului care-i aducea aceste veşti: „De unde ştii că Saul şi fiul său Ionatan au murit?”

Then David said to the young man who told him, “How do you know that Saul and his son Jonathan are dead?”

Az ifjú így felelt: Éppen fölmentem a Gilbóahegyre, amikor Saul a dárdájára támaszkodott, és íme, a szekerek és a lovasok utolérték őt.

Felele az ifjú, ki a hírt hozta: Történetből felmenék a Gilboa hegyére, és ímé Saul az ő dárdájára támaszkodott vala, és ímé a szekerek és lovagok utólérék őtet.

And the young man that told him said, As I happened by chance upon mount Gilboa, behold, Saul leaned upon his spear; and, lo, the chariots and horsemen followed hard after him.

Şi tânărul care-i aducea aceste veşti a răspuns: „Am venit din întâmplare pe muntele Ghilboa; şi Saul stătea rezemat în suliţa lui, şi carele şi călăreţii erau aproape să-l ajungă.

And the young man who told him said, “By chance I happened to be on Mount Gilboa, and there was Saul leaning on his spear, and behold, the chariots and the horsemen were close upon him.

Akkor Saul hátratekintett, meglátott engem és szólított. Én így válaszoltam: Íme, itt vagyok.

Hátratekintvén pedig [Saul,] megláta engem és szólíta, és mondék: Ímhol [vagyok] én.

And when he looked behind him, he saw me, and called unto me. And I answered, Here am I.

Întorcându-se, m-a văzut şi m-a chemat. Eu am zis: „Iată-mă!”

And when he looked behind him, he saw me, and called to me. And I answered, ‘Here I am.’

Ő pedig ezt kérdezte: Ki vagy? Így feleltem neki: Egy amáléki.

Monda pedig nékem: Ki [vagy] te? Felelék néki: Amálekita vagyok.

And he said unto me, Who art thou? And I answered him, I am an Amalekite.

Şi el mi-a zis: „Cine eşti?” I-am răspuns: „Eu sunt amalecit.”

And he said to me, ‘Who are you?’ I answered him, ‘I am an Amalekite.’

Akkor azt mondta nekem: Kérlek, állj mellém, és ölj meg engem, mert dermedtség fogott el engem, pedig a lélek még teljesen bennem van.

Akkor monda nékem: Kérlek állj mellém és ölj meg engem, mert dermedtség fogott el engem, pedig a lélek még teljesen bennem van.

He said unto me again, Stand, I pray thee, upon me, and slay me: for anguish is come upon me, because my life is yet whole in me.

Şi a zis: „Apropie-te, dar, şi omoară-mă; căci m-a apucat ameţeala, măcar că sunt încă plin de viaţă.”

And he said to me, ‘Stand beside me and kill me, for anguish has seized me, and yet my life still lingers.’

Ezért mellé léptem, és megöltem, mert tudtam, hogy úgysem marad életben, miután elesett, és elhoztam fejéről a koronát meg karjáról az aranyperecet, és íme, idehoztam azokat az én uramnak.

Annakokáért [én] mellé állván, megölém őtet, mert tudtam, hogy meg nem él, miután elesett, és elhozám a koronát, mely az ő fején [vala,] és az aranypereczet, mely az ő karján [volt,] és azokat [ímé] ide hoztam az én uramnak.

So I stood upon him, and slew him, because I was sure that he could not live after that he was fallen: and I took the crown that was upon his head, and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them hither unto my lord.

M-am apropiat de el şi l-am omorât, ştiind bine că n-avea să mai rămână cu viaţă în urma înfrângerii. Am luat cununa împărătească de pe capul lui şi brăţara pe care o avea la braţ şi le-am adus aici domnului meu.”

So I stood beside him and killed him, because I was sure that he could not live after he had fallen. And I took the crown that was on his head and the armlet that was on his arm, and I have brought them here to my lord.”

Ekkor Dávid megragadta a ruháit és megszaggatta, és ezt tette a többi ember is, akik vele voltak.

Akkor megragadá Dávid a maga ruháit és megszaggatá, úgyszintén a többi emberek is, a kik ő vele [valának.]

Then David took hold on his clothes, and rent them; and likewise all the men that were with him:

David şi-a apucat hainele şi le-a sfâşiat, şi toţi oamenii care erau lângă el au făcut acelaşi lucru.

Then David took hold of his clothes and tore them, and so did all the men who were with him.

Nagy zokogással sírtak és böjtöltek egész estig Saul és a fia, Jónátán miatt, és az ÚR népe és Izráel háza miatt, mert fegyver által hullottak el.

És nagy zokogással sírának, és bőjtölének mind estvéig, Saulon és Jonathánon, az ő fián, és az Úrnak népén és Izráelnek házán, mivelhogy fegyver által hullottak el.

And they mourned, and wept, and fasted until even, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of the LORD, and for the house of Israel; because they were fallen by the sword.

Au jelit, au plâns şi au postit până seara, de durere pentru Saul, pentru fiul său Ionatan, pentru poporul Domnului, fiindcă fuseseră tăiaţi cu sabia.

And they mourned and wept and fasted until evening for Saul and for Jonathan his son and for the people of the LORD and for the house of Israel, because they had fallen by the sword.

Azután Dávid ezt kérdezte az ifjútól, aki ezt elbeszélte neki: Hova való vagy? Ő így felelt: Egy jövevény amáléki férfi fia vagyok.

És monda Dávid az ifjúnak, a ki [ezt] elbeszélé néki: Honnét [való] [vagy] te? Felele: Egy jövevény Amálekita férfi fia vagyok.

And David said unto the young man that told him, Whence art thou? And he answered, I am the son of a stranger, an Amalekite.

David a zis tânărului care-i adusese aceste veşti: „De unde eşti?” Şi el a răspuns: „Sunt fiul unui străin, unui amalecit.”

And David said to the young man who told him, “Where do you come from?” And he answered, “I am the son of a sojourner, an Amalekite.”

Erre ismét így szólt hozzá Dávid: Hogy nem féltél fölemelni a kezedet az ÚR fölkentjének elveszítésére?

Ismét monda néki Dávid: Hogy nem féltél felemelni kezedet az Úr felkentjének elvesztésére?

And David said unto him, How wast thou not afraid to stretch forth thine hand to destroy the LORD's anointed?

David i-a zis: „Cum nu ţi-a fost frică să pui mâna pe unsul Domnului şi să-l omori?”

David said to him, “How is it you were not afraid to put out your hand to destroy the LORD’s anointed?”

Azután odahívta Dávid az egyik szolgáját, és azt mondta neki: Menj, és öld meg őt! A szolga erre átdöfte, és az meghalt.

És szólíta Dávid egyet az ő szolgái közül, kinek monda: Jőjj elő és öld meg őt. Ki általüté azt, és meghala.

And David called one of the young men, and said, Go near, and fall upon him. And he smote him that he died.

Şi David a chemat pe unul din oamenii lui şi a zis: „Apropie-te şi omoară-l!” Omul acela a lovit pe amalecit, care a murit.

Then David called one of the young men and said, “Go, execute him.” And he struck him down so that he died.

Dávid azt mondta neki: Vére szálljon a fejedre, mert saját szád vallott ellened, mikor azt mondtad: Én öltem meg az ÚR fölkentjét.

És monda néki Dávid: A te véred [legyen] a te fejeden: mert a tennen nyelved vallása bizonyságot tesz ellened, mondván: Én öltem meg az Úrnak felkentjét.

And David said unto him, Thy blood be upon thy head; for thy mouth hath testified against thee, saying, I have slain the LORD's anointed.

Şi David i-a zis: „Sângele tău să cadă asupra capului tău, căci gura ta a mărturisit împotriva ta, fiindcă ai zis: „Am omorât pe unsul Domnului!”

And David said to him, “Your blood be on your head, for your own mouth has testified against you, saying, ‘I have killed the LORD’s anointed.’”

Akkor Dávid ezzel a gyászénekkel siratta el Sault és fiát, Jónátánt.

És keservesen síra Dávid ilyen sírással, Saulon és Jonathánon, az ő fián,

And David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son:

Iată cântarea de jale pe care a alcătuit-o David pentru Saul şi fiul său Ionatan

And David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and Jonathan his son,

Azt mondta, hogy tanítsák meg Júda fiait erre az íjdalra, mely be lett írva Jásár könyvébe.

És monda ([íjdal ez,] hogy megtanulják Júda fiai, mely be van írva a Jásár könyvébe):

(Also he bade them teach the children of Judah the use of the bow: behold, it is written in the book of Jasher.)

şi pe care a poruncit s-o înveţe copiii lui Iuda. Este numită cântarea arcului şi se află scrisă în Cartea Dreptului.

and he said it should be taught to the people of Judah; behold, it is written in the Book of Jashar. He said:

Izráel! Ékességed elesett a halmaidon. Ó, hogy elhullottak a hősök!

Izráel! a te ékességed elesett halmaidon: miként hullottak el a hősök!

The beauty of Israel is slain upon thy high places: how are the mighty fallen!

„Fala ta, Israele, zace ucisă pe dealurile tale! Cum au căzut vitejii!

“Your glory, O Israel, is slain on your high places! How the mighty have fallen!

Meg ne mondjátok Gátban, ne hirdessétek Askelón utcáin, hogy ne örvendjenek a filiszteusok leányai, és ne ujjongjanak a körülmetéletlenek leányai.

Meg ne mondjátok Gáthban, ne hirdessétek Askelon utczáin, hogy ne örvendjenek a Filiszteusok leányai, és ne ujjongjanak a körülmetéletlenek leányai.

Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.

Nu spuneţi lucrul acesta în Gat, nu răspândiţi vestea aceasta în uliţele Ascalonului, ca să nu se bucure fetele filistenilor, ca să nu se laude fetele celor netăiaţi împrejur.

Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Ashkelon, lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised exult.

Gilbóa hegyei, se harmat, se eső ne szálljon rátok, mezőtök ne teremjen semmi áldozatra valót. Mert ott hányták el az erős vitézek a pajzsot, Saul is a pajzsát, mintha nem lett volna megkenve olajjal.

Gilboa hegyei, se harmat, se eső ti reátok ne [szálljon, ]és mezőtök [ne teremjen semmi] áldozatra valót; mert ott hányatott el az erős [vitézek] paizsa, Saulnak paizsa, mintha meg nem kenettetett volna olajjal.

Ye mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew, neither let there be rain, upon you, nor fields of offerings: for there the shield of the mighty is vilely cast away, the shield of Saul, as though he had not been anointed with oil.

Munţi din Ghilboa! Nici rouă, nici ploaie să nu cadă pe voi! Să nu fie pe voi nici câmpii care să dea pârgă pentru darurile de mâncare! Căci acolo au fost aruncate scuturile vitejilor, scutul lui Saul, ca şi când n-ar fi fost uns cu untdelemn.

“You mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew or rain upon you, nor fields of offerings! For there the shield of the mighty was defiled, the shield of Saul, not anointed with oil.

A megsebzettek vérétől és a hősök kövérjétől Jónátán íja nem rettent vissza, és Saul nem forgatta hiába fegyverét.

A megöletteknek vérétől és a hősöknek kövérétől Jonathán kézíve hátra nem tért, és a Saul fegyvere hiába nem járt.

From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, the bow of Jonathan turned not back, and the sword of Saul returned not empty.

De la sângele celor răniţi, de la grăsimea celor mai voinici, arcul lui Ionatan nu dădea înapoi niciodată, şi sabia lui Saul nu se învârtea niciodată în vânt.

“From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, the bow of Jonathan turned not back, and the sword of Saul returned not empty.

Sault és Jónátánt, akik egymást szerették és kedvelték, míg éltek, a halál sem szakította el egymástól. A sasoknál gyorsabbak és az oroszlánoknál erősebbek voltak.

Sault és Jonathánt, a kik egymást szerették és kedvelték míg éltek, a halál sem szakította el; a saskeselyűknél gyorsabbak és az oroszlánoknál erősebbek valának.

Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided: they were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions.

Saul şi Ionatan, care s-au plăcut şi s-au iubit în timpul vieţii lor, n-au fost despărţiţi nici la moarte; erau mai uşori decât vulturii, mai tari decât leii.

“Saul and Jonathan, beloved and lovely! In life and in death they were not divided; they were swifter than eagles; they were stronger than lions.

Izráel leányai! Sirassátok Sault, aki gyönyörű bíborba öltöztetett titeket, és arannyal ékesítette föl a ruhátokat.

Ye daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you in scarlet, with other delights, who put on ornaments of gold upon your apparel.

Fiicele lui Israel! Plângeţi pe Saul, care vă îmbrăca în stacojiu şi alte podoabe, care vă punea găteli de aur pe hainele voastre!

“You daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you luxuriously in scarlet, who put ornaments of gold on your apparel.

Ó, hogy elhullottak a hősök a harcban! Jónátán a halmaidon esett el!

Oh, hogy elhullottak a hősök a harczban! Jonathán halmaidon esett el!

How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle! O Jonathan, thou wast slain in thine high places.

Cum au căzut vitejii în mijlocul luptei! Cum a murit Ionatan pe dealurile tale!

“How the mighty have fallen in the midst of the battle! “Jonathan lies slain on your high places.

Sajnállak, testvérem, Jónátán, nagyon kedves voltál nekem, hozzám való szereteted csodálatosabb volt az asszonyok szerelménél.

Sajnállak testvérem, Jonathán, kedves valál nékem nagyon, hozzám való szereteted csudálatra méltóbb volt az asszonyok szerelménél.

I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.

Mă doare după tine, frate Ionatane! Tu erai plăcerea mea; dragostea ta pentru mine era minunată: mai presus de dragostea femeiască.

I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan; very pleasant have you been to me; your love to me was extraordinary, surpassing the love of women.

Ó, hogy elhullottak a hősök, és elpusztultak a harci szerszámok!

Oh, hogy elhullottak a hősök! És elvesztek a hadi szerszámok!

How are the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished!

Cum au căzut vitejii! Cum li s-au pierdut armele!”

“How the mighty have fallen, and the weapons of war perished!”
