Történt azután, hogy meghalt Ammón fiainak a királya, és fia, Hánún uralkodott helyette.

Lőn pedig azután, meghala az Ammon fiainak királya, és uralkodék helyette Hánon, az ő fia.

And it came to pass after this, that the king of the children of Ammon died, and Hanun his son reigned in his stead.

După aceea, împăratul fiilor lui Amon a murit, şi în locul lui a domnit fiul său Hanun.

After this the king of the Ammonites died, and Hanun his son reigned in his place.

Dávid azt mondta: Irgalmasságot cselekszem Hánúnnal, Náhás fiával, ahogy az ő apja is irgalmasságot cselekedett velem. Követséget küldött hát hozzá Dávid, hogy vigasztalja őt szolgái által apja halála miatt. Mikor Dávid szolgái megérkeztek Ammón fiainak a földjére,

És monda Dávid: Irgalmasságot teszek Hánonnal, Náhás fiával, miképen az ő atyja is velem irgalmasságot tett; és hozzá külde Dávid, hogy vigasztalja őt szolgái által atyja [halála] felől. Mikor Dávid szolgái Ammon fiainak földére érkezének:

Then said David, I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father shewed kindness unto me. And David sent to comfort him by the hand of his servants for his father. And David's servants came into the land of the children of Ammon.

David a zis: „Voi arăta bunăvoinţă lui Hanun, fiul lui Nahaş, cum a arătat şi tatăl lui faţă de mine.” Şi David a trimis pe slujitorii săi să-l mângâie pentru moartea tatălui său. Când au ajuns slujitorii lui David în ţara fiilor lui Amon,

And David said, “I will deal loyally with Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father dealt loyally with me.” So David sent by his servants to console him concerning his father. And David’s servants came into the land of the Ammonites.

azt mondták az ammóniak vezérei uruknak, Hánúnnak: Vajon apád megbecsülését fejezi ki Dávid előtted azzal, hogy vigasztalókat küldött hozzád? Vajon Dávid nem inkább azért küldte-e hozzád szolgáit, hogy a várost megszemléljék, kikémleljék és teljesen elpusztítsák?

Mondának az Ammon fiainak vezérei Hánonnak, az ő uroknak: Vajjon becsüli-é Dávid ezzel előtted a te atyádat, hogy hozzád vigasztalókat küldött? Vajjon Dávid nem inkább azért küldötte-é hozzád szolgáit, hogy a várost megszemléljék és kikémleljék és teljesen elpusztítsák.

And the princes of the children of Ammon said unto Hanun their lord, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? hath not David rather sent his servants unto thee, to search the city, and to spy it out, and to overthrow it?

căpeteniile fiilor lui Amon au zis stăpânului lor, Hanun: „Crezi că David îţi trimite oameni să te mângâie, ca să cinstească pe tatăl tău? Ori ca să cunoască şi să cerceteze cetatea, ca s-o nimicească îşi trimite el slujitorii la tine?”

But the princes of the Ammonites said to Hanun their lord, “Do you think, because David has sent comforters to you, that he is honoring your father? Has not David sent his servants to you to search the city and to spy it out and to overthrow it?”

Erre Hánún elfogatta Dávid szolgáit, szakálluk felét lenyíratta, ruháik felét levágatta az ülepükig, és elbocsátotta őket.

Elfogatá azért Hánon a Dávid szolgáit, és szakáloknak felét lenyiratá, és ruháikat félben elmetszeté az alfelekig, és elbocsátá őket.

Wherefore Hanun took David's servants, and shaved off the one half of their beards, and cut off their garments in the middle, even to their buttocks, and sent them away.

Atunci Hanun a luat pe slujitorii lui David, le-a ras barba pe jumătate şi le-a tăiat hainele pe jumătate până la coapse. Apoi le-a dat drumul.

So Hanun took David’s servants and shaved off half the beard of each and cut off their garments in the middle, at their hips, and sent them away.

Amint Dávidnak hírül adták ezt, eléjük küldött, mert ezeket az embereket igen csúffá tették, és ezt üzente a király: Maradjatok Jerikóban mindaddig, amíg megnő a szakállatok, és azután jöjjetek haza.

A mint ezt Dávidnak hírül hozták, eleikbe külde, (mert ezek az emberek igen meggyaláztattak) és ezt izené a király: Maradjatok Jerikhóban mindaddig, míg megnevekedik szakálotok; és [úgy] jőjjetek haza.

When they told it unto David, he sent to meet them, because the men were greatly ashamed: and the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.

David, înştiinţat de lucrul acesta, a trimis nişte oameni înaintea lor, căci oamenii aceia erau foarte batjocoriţi; şi împăratul a spus să le spună: „Rămâneţi la Ierihon până vă va creşte barba, şi pe urmă să vă întoarceţi.”

When it was told David, he sent to meet them, for the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, “Remain at Jericho until your beards have grown and then return.”

Amikor látták Ammón fiai, hogy gyűlöletesek lettek Dávid előtt, követet küldtek, és zsoldjukba fogadták a bét-rehóbi arámokat és a cóbai arámokat, húszezer gyalogost, Maaká királyát ezer emberrel és a tóbiakat, tizenkétezer embert.

Látván pedig az Ammon fiai, hogy gyűlöltekké lettek Dávid előtt, követet küldének az Ammon fiai, és felfogadák Siriában a Béth-Réhóbbelieket és ugyancsak Siriában a Czóbeusokat, húszezer gyalogot, és Maakának királyát ezer emberrel, és a Tóbbelieket, tizenkétezer embert.

And when the children of Ammon saw that they stank before David, the children of Ammon sent and hired the Syrians of Bethrehob and the Syrians of Zoba, twenty thousand footmen, and of king Maacah a thousand men, and of Ishtob twelve thousand men.

Fiii lui Amon, văzând că se făcuseră urâţi lui David, au tocmit douăzeci de mii de pedeştri de la sirienii din Bet-Rehob şi de la sirienii din Ţoba, o mie de oameni de la împăratul din Maaca şi douăsprezece mii de oameni de la oamenii din Tob.

When the Ammonites saw that they had become a stench to David, the Ammonites sent and hired the Syrians of Beth-rehob, and the Syrians of Zobah, 20,000 foot soldiers, and the king of Maacah with 1,000 men, and the men of Tob, 12,000 men.

Amint Dávid meghallotta ezt, elküldte Jóábot és a vitézek egész seregét.

A mint ezt Dávid meghallá, elküldötte Joábot és a vitézeknek egész seregét.

And when David heard of it, he sent Joab, and all the host of the mighty men.

La auzul acestei veşti, David a trimis împotriva lor pe Ioab şi toată oştirea, numai oameni viteji.

And when David heard of it, he sent Joab and all the host of the mighty men.

Kivonultak Ammón fiai is, és csatarendbe álltak a kapu bejáratánál. A cóbai és rehóbi arámok meg a tóbiak és Maaká külön álltak fel a mezőn.

Kivonulának az Ammon fiai is, és csatarendbe állottak a kapu bejárata előtt. A Siriabeli Czóbeusok, Réhóbbeliek, Tóbbeliek és Maaka magukban valának a mezőn.

And the children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array at the entering in of the gate: and the Syrians of Zoba, and of Rehob, and Ishtob, and Maacah, were by themselves in the field.

Fiii lui Amon au ieşit şi s-au aşezat în şiruri de bătaie la intrarea porţii; sirienii din Ţoba şi din Rehob şi oamenii din Tob şi din Maaca erau deoparte în câmpie.

And the Ammonites came out and drew up in battle array at the entrance of the gate, and the Syrians of Zobah and of Rehob and the men of Tob and Maacah were by themselves in the open country.

Jóáb látva, hogy elölről is, hátulról is ellenség veszi körül, kiválogatta Izráel népének színe-javát, és az arámokkal szemben állította föl őket.

Látván pedig Joáb, hogy mind elől, mind hátul ellenség van ő ellene, kiválogatá az Izráel népének színét, és a Siriabeliek ellenében állítá fel.

When Joab saw that the front of the battle was against him before and behind, he chose of all the choice men of Israel, and put them in array against the Syrians:

Ioab a văzut că avea să lupte şi înainte şi înapoi. A ales atunci din toţi aleşii lui Israel o ceată, pe care a aşezat-o împotriva sirienilor;

When Joab saw that the battle was set against him both in front and in the rear, he chose some of the best men of Israel and arrayed them against the Syrians.

A nép maradékát öccse, Abisaj vezetésére bízta, hogy az ammóniakkal szemben állítsa föl őket.

A népnek maradékát az ő öcscsének, Abisainak vezetésére bízta, hogy felállítsa azt Ammon fiainak ellenében.

And the rest of the people he delivered into the hand of Abishai his brother, that he might put them in array against the children of Ammon.

şi a pus sub porunca fratelui său Abişai ce mai rămăsese din popor, ca să ţină piept fiilor lui Amon.

The rest of his men he put in the charge of Abishai his brother, and he arrayed them against the Ammonites.

Ezt mondta: Ha erősebbek lesznek nálam az arámok, te segíts nekem. Ha pedig az Ammón fiai lesznek erősebbek nálad, akkor én megyek, hogy megsegítselek.

És monda: Ha erősebbek lesznek a Siriabeliek nálamnál, nékem segítségül légy. Ha pedig az Ammon fiai náladnál hatalmasabbak lesznek, elmegyek, hogy megsegítselek.

And he said, If the Syrians be too strong for me, then thou shalt help me: but if the children of Ammon be too strong for thee, then I will come and help thee.

El a zis: „Dacă sirienii vor fi mai tari decât mine, să vii în ajutorul meu; şi dacă fiii lui Amon vor fi mai tari decât tine, voi veni eu să te ajut.

And he said, “If the Syrians are too strong for me, then you shall help me, but if the Ammonites are too strong for you, then I will come and help you.

Légy erős, és legyünk bátrak nemzetségünkért és Istenünk városaiért. Az ÚR pedig cselekedjék úgy, ahogy neki tetszik.

Légy erős és legyünk bátrak a mi nemzetségünkért és a mi Istenünknek városaiért; és az Úr cselekedjék úgy, a mint néki tetszik.

Be of good courage, and let us play the men for our people, and for the cities of our God: and the LORD do that which seemeth him good.

Fii tare, şi să ne arătăm plini de bărbăţie pentru poporul nostru şi pentru cetăţile Dumnezeului nostru; şi Domnul să facă ce va crede!”

Be of good courage, and let us be courageous for our people, and for the cities of our God, and may the LORD do what seems good to him.”

Mikor azután Jóáb és serege előrement az arámok ellen az ütközetre, azok megfutamodtak előle.

Elérkezék azért Joáb és az ő vele való sereg a Siriabeliek ellen az ütközetre, és megfutamodának ő előtte.

And Joab drew nigh, and the people that were with him, unto the battle against the Syrians: and they fled before him.

Ioab, cu poporul lui, a înaintat la luptă împotriva sirienilor, şi ei au luat-o la fugă dinaintea lui.

So Joab and the people who were with him drew near to battle against the Syrians, and they fled before him.

Amikor Ammón fiai látták, hogy az arámok megfutottak, ők is megfutamodtak Abisaj elől, és beszaladtak a városba. Akkor Jóáb visszafordult az ammóniak üldözéséből, és Jeruzsálembe ment.

Látván pedig az Ammon fiai, hogy megfutamodtak a Siriabeliek, megfutamodának [ők is] Abisai előtt, és beszaladának a városba; és megtére Joáb az Ammon fiaitól és méne Jeruzsálembe.

And when the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians were fled, then fled they also before Abishai, and entered into the city. So Joab returned from the children of Ammon, and came to Jerusalem.

Şi când au văzut fiii lui Amon că sirienii o luaseră la fugă, au fugit şi ei dinaintea lui Abişai şi au intrat în cetate. Ioab a plecat de la fiii lui Amon şi s-a întors la Ierusalim.

And when the Ammonites saw that the Syrians fled, they likewise fled before Abishai and entered the city. Then Joab returned from fighting against the Ammonites and came to Jerusalem.

Amikor az arámok látták, hogy az izráeliektől vereséget szenvedtek, összegyülekeztek.

Mikor pedig látták a Siriabeliek, hogy megverettettek az Izráeliták által, ismét együvé gyülekezének.

And when the Syrians saw that they were smitten before Israel, they gathered themselves together.

Sirienii, văzând că fuseseră bătuţi de Israel, şi-au strâns puterile.

But when the Syrians saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they gathered themselves together.

Akkor elküldött Hadadezer, és elhozatta a folyamon túli arámokat. Ezek megérkeztek Hélámba, élükön Sóbakkal, Hadadezer fővezérével.

És elkülde Hadadézer, és elhozatá a Siriabelieket, a kik a vizen túl [valának,] és jövének Helámba; és Sobák, Hadadézernek fővezére volt élükön.

And Hadarezer sent, and brought out the Syrians that were beyond the river: and they came to Helam; and Shobach the captain of the host of Hadarezer went before them.

Hadarezer a trimis după sirienii care erau de cealaltă parte a Râului; şi au venit la Helam, în frunte cu Şobac, căpetenia oştirii lui Hadarezer.

And Hadadezer sent and brought out the Syrians who were beyond the Euphrates. They came to Helam, with Shobach the commander of the army of Hadadezer at their head.

Megüzenték ezt Dávidnak, aki erre összegyűjtötte egész Izráelt, átkelt a Jordánon, és Hélámhoz érkezett. Az arám sereg fölsorakozott Dávid ellen, és megütközött vele.

Megizenék pedig Dávidnak, a ki egybegyűjté egész Izráelt, és általméne a Jordánon, és juta Hélámhoz: és sereget rendelének a Siriabeliek Dávid ellen, és megütközének vele.

And when it was told David, he gathered all Israel together, and passed over Jordan, and came to Helam. And the Syrians set themselves in array against David, and fought with him.

Au dat de veste lui David, care a strâns tot Israelul, a trecut Iordanul şi a venit la Helam; sirienii s-au pregătit de au ieşit înaintea lui David şi au început lupta cu el.

And when it was told David, he gathered all Israel together and crossed the Jordan and came to Helam. The Syrians arrayed themselves against David and fought with him.

De megfutamodtak az arámok Izráel elől, és megölt Dávid az arámok közül hétszáz harci szekerest és negyvenezer lovast. Sóbakot, a sereg fővezérét is levágta, aki ott helyben meghalt.

De a Siriabeliek megfutamodtak Izráel előtt, és levága Dávid a Siriabeliek közül hétszáz szekerest és negyvenezer lovagot, Sobákot is, a seregnek fővezérét megölé; és ugyanott meghala.

And the Syrians fled before Israel; and David slew the men of seven hundred chariots of the Syrians, and forty thousand horsemen, and smote Shobach the captain of their host, who died there.

Dar sirienii au fugit dinaintea lui Israel. Şi David le-a tăiat şapte sute de cai de trăsură şi patruzeci de mii de călăreţi; a lovit şi pe căpetenia oştirii lor, Şobac, care a murit pe loc.

And the Syrians fled before Israel, and David killed of the Syrians the men of 700 chariots, and 40,000 horsemen, and wounded Shobach the commander of their army, so that he died there.

Mikor pedig látták mindazok a királyok, akik Hadadezer szolgái voltak, hogy vereséget szenvedtek Izráeltől, békét kötöttek Izráellel, és szolgáltak nekik. Ezután az arámok nem merték többé segíteni az ammóniakat.

Mikor pedig látták mindazok a királyok, a kik Hadadézernek szolgái valának, hogy az Izráel által megverettek, békét kötöttek Izráellel és nékik szolgálának; és nem merének többé a Siriabeliek kijőni az Ammon fiainak segítségére.

And when all the kings that were servants to Hadarezer saw that they were smitten before Israel, they made peace with Israel, and served them. So the Syrians feared to help the children of Ammon any more.

Toţi împăraţii supuşi lui Hadarezer, văzându-se bătuţi de Israel, au făcut pace cu Israel şi i s-au supus. Şi sirienii n-au mai îndrăznit să ajute pe fiii lui Amon.

And when all the kings who were servants of Hadadezer saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they made peace with Israel and became subject to them. So the Syrians were afraid to save the Ammonites anymore.
