Jóáb, Cerújá fia észrevette, hogy a király szíve vágyakozik Absolon után.

Now Joab the son of Zeruiah perceived that the king's heart was toward Absalom.

Ioab, fiul Ţeruiei, a băgat de seamă că inima împăratului era aprinsă de dor după Absalom.

Now Joab the son of Zeruiah knew that the king’s heart went out to Absalom.

Elküldött azért Jóáb Tekóa városába, és hozatott onnan egy igen eszes asszonyt, és azt mondta neki: Kérlek, tégy úgy, mintha nagy keserűséged volna, öltözzél gyászruhába, és olajjal se kend meg magadat. Tegyél úgy, mint egy olyan asszony, aki sokáig siratta a halottját.

Elkülde Joáb Tékoa [városába], és hozata onnét egy asszonyt, ki igen eszes vala, és monda néki: Kérlek tetessed, mintha nagy keserűséged volna, és öltözzél fel gyászruhába, és olajjal se kend meg magadat; és légy olyan, mint aféle asszony, ki sokáig siratta halottját.

And Joab sent to Tekoah, and fetched thence a wise woman, and said unto her, I pray thee, feign thyself to be a mourner, and put on now mourning apparel, and anoint not thyself with oil, but be as a woman that had a long time mourned for the dead:

A trimis să aducă din Tecoa o femeie iscusită şi i-a zis: „Fă-te că plângi şi îmbracă-te în haine de jale; nu te unge cu untdelemn şi fii ca o femeie care de multă vreme plânge după un mort.

And Joab sent to Tekoa and brought from there a wise woman and said to her, “Pretend to be a mourner and put on mourning garments. Do not anoint yourself with oil, but behave like a woman who has been mourning many days for the dead.

And come to the king, and speak on this manner unto him. So Joab put the words in her mouth.

Go to the king and speak thus to him.” So Joab put the words in her mouth.

Így szólt tehát a tekóabeli asszony a királyhoz, miután arccal a földre borult, és térdet-fejet hajtott: Segíts meg, ó, király!

Szóla azért a Tékoabeli asszony a királynak, minekutána arczczal a földre leborult, és térdet-fejet hajtott, és monda: Segíts meg, óh király!

And when the woman of Tekoah spake to the king, she fell on her face to the ground, and did obeisance, and said, Help, O king.

Femeia aceea din Tecoa s-a dus să vorbească împăratului. A căzut cu faţa la pământ, s-a închinat şi a zis: „Împărate, scapă-mă!”

When the woman of Tekoa came to the king, she fell on her face to the ground and paid homage and said, “Save me, O king.”

A király megkérdezte: Mi bajod van? Így felelt: Ó, én özvegyasszony vagyok, mert meghalt a férjem.

És monda néki a király: Mi bajod van? Felele az: Óh, én özvegyasszony vagyok, mert az én férjem meghalt.

And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, I am indeed a widow woman, and mine husband is dead.

Împăratul i-a zis: „Ce ai?” Ea a răspuns: „Da, sunt văduvă, bărbatul mi-a murit!

And the king said to her, “What is your trouble?” She answered, “Alas, I am a widow; my husband is dead.

És a te szolgálódnak két fia volt, akik összevesztek a mezőn. De mivel nem volt senki, aki szétválasztotta volna őket, az egyik leütötte a másikat és megölte.

And thy handmaid had two sons, and they two strove together in the field, and there was none to part them, but the one smote the other, and slew him.

Roaba ta avea doi fii; amândoi s-au certat pe câmp şi n-a fost nimeni să-i despartă; unul a lovit pe celălalt şi l-a omorât.

And your servant had two sons, and they quarreled with one another in the field. There was no one to separate them, and one struck the other and killed him.

És íme, az egész háznép ellene támadt a te szolgálóleányodnak, és azt mondták: Add a kezünkbe a testvérgyilkost, hadd öljük meg a testvérének lelkéért, akit megölt, és veszítsük el még az örököst is! Így akarják kioltani még a kicsiny szikrácskát is, amely megmaradt nekem, hogy a férjemnek ne maradjon se neve, se maradéka a föld színén.

És ímé az egész háznép ellene támadott a te szolgálóleányodnak, és ezt mondják: Add kezünkbe az ő testvérének gyilkosát, hadd öljük meg őt az ő testvérének lelkéért, a kit megölt, és veszessük el az örököst is. Így akarják eloltani a kicsiny szikrácskát, a mely [nékem] megmaradott, hogy az én férjemnek ne maradjon se neve, se maradéka a föld színén.

And, behold, the whole family is risen against thine handmaid, and they said, Deliver him that smote his brother, that we may kill him, for the life of his brother whom he slew; and we will destroy the heir also: and so they shall quench my coal which is left, and shall not leave to my husband neither name nor remainder upon the earth.

Şi iată că toată familia s-a ridicat împotriva roabei tale, zicând: „Scoate încoace pe ucigaşul fratelui său! Vrem să-l omorâm, pentru viaţa fratelui său pe care l-a ucis; vrem să nimicim chiar şi pe moştenitor!” Ei ar stinge astfel şi tăciunele care-mi mai rămâne, ca să nu lase bărbatului meu nici nume, nici urmaş viu pe faţa pământului.”

And now the whole clan has risen against your servant, and they say, ‘Give up the man who struck his brother, that we may put him to death for the life of his brother whom he killed.’ And so they would destroy the heir also. Thus they would quench my coal that is left and leave to my husband neither name nor remnant on the face of the earth.”

A király pedig azt mondta az asszonynak: Menj haza, és parancsolok a te dolgod felől.

And the king said unto the woman, Go to thine house, and I will give charge concerning thee.

Împăratul a zis femeii: „Du-te acasă. Voi da porunci cu privire la tine.”

Then the king said to the woman, “Go to your house, and I will give orders concerning you.”

A tekóai asszony így felelt a királynak: Uram, király, rajtam és atyám házán legyen a bűn súlya, de a király és az ő trónja ártatlan legyen.

And the woman of Tekoah said unto the king, My lord, O king, the iniquity be on me, and on my father's house: and the king and his throne be guiltless.

Femeia din Tecoa a zis împăratului: „Asupra mea, împărate, domnul meu, şi asupra casei tatălui meu să cadă pedeapsa; împăratul şi scaunul lui de domnie să nu aibă nimic de suferit.”

And the woman of Tekoa said to the king, “On me be the guilt, my lord the king, and on my father’s house; let the king and his throne be guiltless.”

Erre azt mondta a király: Hozd ide elém azt, aki ellened szól, és többé érinteni sem fog téged!

Monda erre a király: A ki te ellened szól, hozd ide előmbe, és többé nem fog illetni téged.

And the king said, Whoever saith ought unto thee, bring him to me, and he shall not touch thee any more.

Împăratul a zis: „Dacă va vorbi cineva împotriva ta, să-l aduci la mine, şi nu se va mai atinge de tine.”

The king said, “If anyone says anything to you, bring him to me, and he shall never touch you again.”

Akkor ő így válaszolt: Emlékezz, ó, király, az ÚRra, a te Istenedre, hogy a vérbosszuló ne folytathassa a pusztítást, és hogy fiamat ne veszítsék el. A király így felelt: Az élő ÚRra mondom, hogy fiadnak egy hajszála sem esik le a földre!

Akkor ő monda: Emlékezzék meg kérlek, a király az Úrról, a te Istenedről: hogy a vérbosszúló ne szaporítsa a pusztulást, és hogy az én fiamat ne veszessék el. Felele a király: Él az Úr, hogy a te fiadnak egy hajszála sem esik le a földre.

Then said she, I pray thee, let the king remember the LORD thy God, that thou wouldest not suffer the revengers of blood to destroy any more, lest they destroy my son. And he said, As the LORD liveth, there shall not one hair of thy son fall to the earth.

Ea a zis: „Să-şi aducă aminte împăratul de Domnul Dumnezeul tău, pentru ca răzbunătorul sângelui să nu mărească prăpădul şi să nu mi se nimicească fiul!” Şi el a zis: „Viu este Domnul, că un păr din capul fiului tău nu va cădea la pământ!”

Then she said, “Please let the king invoke the LORD your God, that the avenger of blood kill no more, and my son be not destroyed.” He said, “As the LORD lives, not one hair of your son shall fall to the ground.”

De az asszony azt mondta: Kérlek, hadd szóljon szolgálód csak egy szót az én uramnak, a királynak. Ő így felelt: Beszélj!

És monda az asszony: Kérlek, hadd szóljon a te szolgálód csak egy szót az én uramnak, a királynak; és ő monda: Szólj.

Then the woman said, Let thine handmaid, I pray thee, speak one word unto my lord the king. And he said, Say on.

Femeia a zis: „Dă voie roabei tale să spună o vorbă domnului meu, împăratul.” Şi el a zis: „Vorbeşte!”

Then the woman said, “Please let your servant speak a word to my lord the king.” He said, “Speak.”

Akkor azt mondta az asszony: Hát te miért gondoltál ilyet az Isten népe ellen, hiszen a király, aki ezt kimondta, mintegy maga is bűnös, mert a király azt, akit eltaszított magától, nem hívatja vissza.

Akkor monda az asszony: Miért gondoltál ehhez hasonló dolgot az Isten népe ellen (mert mivel a király ezt a szót szólotta, mintegy maga is bűnös), hogy a király azt, a kit eltaszított magától, nem hívatja vissza?

And the woman said, Wherefore then hast thou thought such a thing against the people of God? for the king doth speak this thing as one which is faulty, in that the king doth not fetch home again his banished.

Femeia a zis: „Pentru ce gândeşti tu astfel cu privire la poporul lui Dumnezeu, căci nu iese chiar din cuvintele împăratului că împăratul este ca şi vinovat când nu cheamă înapoi pe acela pe care l-a gonit?

And the woman said, “Why then have you planned such a thing against the people of God? For in giving this decision the king convicts himself, inasmuch as the king does not bring his banished one home again.

Mert bizonyára meg kell halnunk, és olyanok vagyunk, mint a víz, amely a földre kiöntve nem szedhető föl, de Isten egy lelket sem akar elveszíteni, hanem azt gondolja magában, hogy ne legyen számkivetve őelőtte az eltaszított sem.

Mert bizonyára meg kell halnunk, és olyanok vagyunk, mint a víz, mely a földre kiöntetvén, fel nem szedhető, és az Isten egy lelket sem akar elvenni, hanem azt a gondolatot gondolja magában, hogy ne legyen számkivetve előtte az eltaszított sem.

For we must needs die, and are as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither doth God respect any person: yet doth he devise means, that his banished be not expelled from him.

Trebuie negreşit să murim şi vom fi ca nişte ape vărsate pe pământ, care nu se mai adună. Dumnezeu nu ia viaţa, ci doreşte ca fugarul să nu rămână izgonit dinaintea Lui.

We must all die; we are like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. But God will not take away life, and he devises means so that the banished one will not remain an outcast.

Most tehát azért jöttem ide, hogy szóljak a királynak, az én uramnak, noha sokan intettek engem ettől. De azt mondta szolgálód: Mégis beszélek a királlyal, hátha megteszi a király, amit szolgálóleánya mond.

Most annakokáért azért jöttem ide, hogy én szólnék a királynak, az én uramnak, noha sokan rettentettek engem ettől; mindazáltal azt mondotta a te szolgálód: Mégis beszélek a királylyal, hátha megteszi a király, a mit az ő szolgálóleánya mond.

Now therefore that I am come to speak of this thing unto my lord the king, it is because the people have made me afraid: and thy handmaid said, I will now speak unto the king; it may be that the king will perform the request of his handmaid.

Acum, dacă am venit să spun aceste lucruri împăratului, domnului meu, am venit pentru că poporul m-a înspăimântat. Şi roaba ta a zis: „Vreau să vorbesc împăratului; poate că împăratul va face ce va zice roaba sa.

Now I have come to say this to my lord the king because the people have made me afraid, and your servant thought, ‘I will speak to the king; it may be that the king will perform the request of his servant.

Igen, meghallgatja a király, és megszabadítja szolgálóleányát annak kezéből, aki engem el akar veszteni, és velem együtt az én fiamat Isten örökségéből!

Igen, meghallgatja a király, és megszabadítja az ő szolgálóleányát annak kezéből, a ki engem el akar veszteni és velem együtt az én fiamat az Istennek örökségéből.

For the king will hear, to deliver his handmaid out of the hand of the man that would destroy me and my son together out of the inheritance of God.

Da, împăratul va asculta pe roaba sa, ca să scape din mâna celor ce caută să ne nimicească, pe mine şi pe fiul meu, din moştenirea lui Dumnezeu.”

For the king will hear and deliver his servant from the hand of the man who would destroy me and my son together from the heritage of God.’

Ezenfelül azt gondolta szolgálóleányod: Uramnak, a királynak a beszéde szerezzen nyugalmat, mert olyan az én uram, a király, mint Isten angyala, mivel meghallgatja mind a jót, mind a gonoszt. És az ÚR, a te Istened legyen veled.

Annakfelette ezt gondolta a te szolgálóleányod: Az én uramnak, a királynak beszéde szerezzen nyugodalmat, mert mint az Istennek angyala, olyan az én uram, a király, mivelhogy meghallgatja mind a jót, mind a gonoszt. És az Úr a te Istened legyen te veled.

Then thine handmaid said, The word of my lord the king shall now be comfortable: for as an angel of God, so is my lord the king to discern good and bad: therefore the LORD thy God will be with thee.

Roaba ta a zis: „Cuvântul domnului meu, împăratul, să-mi dea odihnă. Căci domnul meu, împăratul, este ca un înger al lui Dumnezeu, gata să audă binele şi răul. Şi Domnul Dumnezeul tău să fie cu tine.”

And your servant thought, ‘The word of my lord the king will set me at rest,’ for my lord the king is like the angel of God to discern good and evil. The LORD your God be with you!”

És így felelt a király az asszonynak: Kérlek, ne titkolj el semmit, ha most valamit kérdezek tőled. Az asszony ezt mondta: Kérlek, szóljon az én uram, a király!

És felelvén a király, monda az asszonynak: Kérlek, ne tagadd meg, a mit tőled kérek. És monda az asszony: Mondja el az én uram, a király, kérlek!

Then the king answered and said unto the woman, Hide not from me, I pray thee, the thing that I shall ask thee. And the woman said, Let my lord the king now speak.

Împăratul a răspuns şi a zis femeii: „Nu-mi ascunde ce te voi întreba.” Şi femeia a zis: „Să vorbească domnul meu, împăratul!”

Then the king answered the woman, “Do not hide from me anything I ask you.” And the woman said, “Let my lord the king speak.”

A király azt kérdezte: Vajon nem Jóáb keze van-e mindebben? Az asszony így felelt: A te életedre mondom, ó, uram, királyom, hogy sem jobbra, sem balra nem lehet eltérni attól, amit uram, a király mond. Mert szolgád, Jóáb bízta rám ezt. Ő adta szolgálóleányod szájába mindezeket a szavakat.

És monda a király: Vajjon mindezekben nem a Joáb keze [van-é] veled? Felele az asszony, és monda: Él a te lelked, óh uram, király, hogy sem jobbra, sem balra nem lehet térni attól, a mit az én uram, a király szól; mert a te szolgád Joáb hagyta [ezt] nékem, és mindezeket a szókat ő adta a te szolgálóleányodnak szájába.

And the king said, Is not the hand of Joab with thee in all this? And the woman answered and said, As thy soul liveth, my lord the king, none can turn to the right hand or to the left from ought that my lord the king hath spoken: for thy servant Joab, he bade me, and he put all these words in the mouth of thine handmaid:

Împăratul a zis atunci: „Oare mâna lui Ioab nu este ea cu tine în toată treaba aceasta?” Şi femeia a răspuns: „Viu este sufletul tău, împărate, domnul meu, că nu este cu putinţă nicio abatere nici la dreapta, nici la stânga de la tot ce a zis domnul meu, împăratul. În adevăr, robul tău Ioab mi-a poruncit şi a pus în gura roabei tale toate aceste cuvinte.

The king said, “Is the hand of Joab with you in all this?” The woman answered and said, “As surely as you live, my lord the king, one cannot turn to the right hand or to the left from anything that my lord the king has said. It was your servant Joab who commanded me; it was he who put all these words in the mouth of your servant.

Azért tette ezt Jóáb, a te szolgád, hogy a dolognak más fordulatot adjon. De az én uram bölcs, Isten angyalának a bölcsessége szerint, hogy mindent észrevegyen, ami a földön van.

To fetch about this form of speech hath thy servant Joab done this thing: and my lord is wise, according to the wisdom of an angel of God, to know all things that are in the earth.

Ca să dea o altă înfăţişare lucrului, a făcut robul tău Ioab lucrul acesta. Dar domnul meu este tot atât de înţelept ca şi un înger al lui Dumnezeu, ca să cunoască tot ce se petrece pe pământ.”

In order to change the course of things your servant Joab did this. But my lord has wisdom like the wisdom of the angel of God to know all things that are on the earth.”

Akkor azt mondta a király Jóábnak: Íme, megteszem ezt a dolgot. Eredj el, és hozd haza a fiamat, Absolont.

Akkor monda a király Joábnak: Ímé megteszem ezt a dolgot. Eredj el, és hozd haza [az] [én] fiamat, Absolont.

And the king said unto Joab, Behold now, I have done this thing: go therefore, bring the young man Absalom again.

Împăratul a zis lui Ioab: „Iată, vreau să fac lucrul acesta; du-te, dar, de adu înapoi pe tânărul Absalom.”

Then the king said to Joab, “Behold now, I grant this; go, bring back the young man Absalom.”

És Jóáb arccal a földre borult, térdet és fejet hajtva megköszönte a királynak, és ezt mondta: Ma tudta meg, uram, király, a te szolgád, hogy van valami becsületem előtted. Mert szolgája kérése szerint cselekedett a király.

És a földre arczczal leborula Joáb, és térdet-fejet hajtván, megköszöné a királynak, és monda Joáb: Ma ismerte meg, uram király, a te szolgád, hogy van valami becsületem előtted; mert az ő szolgájának beszédét megcselekedte a király.

And Joab fell to the ground on his face, and bowed himself, and thanked the king: and Joab said, To day thy servant knoweth that I have found grace in thy sight, my lord, O king, in that the king hath fulfilled the request of his servant.

Ioab a căzut cu faţa la pământ, s-a închinat şi a binecuvântat pe împăratul. Apoi a zis: „Robul tău cunoaşte azi că am căpătat trecere înaintea ta, împărate, domnul meu, fiindcă împăratul lucrează după cuvântul robului său.”

And Joab fell on his face to the ground and paid homage and blessed the king. And Joab said, “Today your servant knows that I have found favor in your sight, my lord the king, in that the king has granted the request of his servant.”

Fölkelt hát Jóáb, elment Gesúrba, és hazahozta Absolont Jeruzsálembe.

So Joab arose and went to Geshur, and brought Absalom to Jerusalem.

A király azonban azt mondta: Menjen a maga házába, és ne kerüljön a színem elé! Absolon tehát a maga házába tért, és nem láthatta a király arcát.

És monda a király: Menjen a maga házába, és az én színemet ne lássa. Tére azért Absolon az ő házába, és a királynak orczáját nem láthatá.

And the king said, Let him turn to his own house, and let him not see my face. So Absalom returned to his own house, and saw not the king's face.

Dar împăratul a zis: „Să se ducă în casa lui şi să nu-mi vadă faţa.” Şi Absalom s-a dus în casa lui şi n-a văzut faţa împăratului.

And the king said, “Let him dwell apart in his own house; he is not to come into my presence.” So Absalom lived apart in his own house and did not come into the king’s presence.

Egész Izráelben nem volt olyan szép ember, akit annyira dicsértek volna, mint Absolon. Tetőtől talpig nem volt benne semmi hiba.

Nem vala pedig az egész Izráelben olyan szép ember, mint Absolon, ki dicséretre olyan méltó volna; tetőtől fogva talpig ő benne semmi hiba nem vala.

But in all Israel there was none to be so much praised as Absalom for his beauty: from the sole of his foot even to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him.

Nu era om în tot Israelul aşa de vestit ca Absalom în privinţa frumuseţii lui; din talpa piciorului până în creştetul capului, n-avea niciun cusur.

Now in all Israel there was no one so much to be praised for his handsome appearance as Absalom. From the sole of his foot to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him.

És mikor a fejét megnyiratja (mert minden esztendőben megnyiratja vala, mivel igen nehéz volna, azért nyiratja le), az ő fejének haja nyom vala kétszáz siklust a királyi mérték szerint.

And when he polled his head, (for it was at every year's end that he polled it: because the hair was heavy on him, therefore he polled it:) he weighed the hair of his head at two hundred shekels after the king's weight.

Când îşi tundea capul – şi-l tundea în fiecare an, pentru că părul îi era greu – greutatea părului de pe capul lui era de două sute de sicli, după greutatea împăratului.

And when he cut the hair of his head (for at the end of every year he used to cut it; when it was heavy on him, he cut it), he weighed the hair of his head, two hundred shekels by the king’s weight.

Absolonnak pedig három fia és egy leánya lett, akinek Támár volt a neve. Igen szép termetű asszony volt.

And unto Absalom there were born three sons, and one daughter, whose name was Tamar: she was a woman of a fair countenance.

There were born to Absalom three sons, and one daughter whose name was Tamar. She was a beautiful woman.

Két esztendőt töltött már Absolon Jeruzsálemben, de a király színét még nem látta.

So Absalom dwelt two full years in Jerusalem, and saw not the king's face.

Absalom a locuit doi ani la Ierusalim, fără să vadă faţa împăratului.

So Absalom lived two full years in Jerusalem, without coming into the king’s presence.

Elküldött azért Absolon Jóábhoz, hogy őt a királyhoz küldje, de ő nem akart elmenni hozzá. Üzent másodszor is, de ő mégsem akart elmenni.

Therefore Absalom sent for Joab, to have sent him to the king; but he would not come to him: and when he sent again the second time, he would not come.

Then Absalom sent for Joab, to send him to the king, but Joab would not come to him. And he sent a second time, but Joab would not come.

Ezért azt mondta szolgáinak: Nézzétek, Jóáb gazdasága az enyém mellett van, és ott van az árpája. Menjetek, és gyújtsátok föl! Absolon szolgái fölgyújtották a gazdaságot.

Monda azért az ő szolgáinak: Nézzétek, a Joáb gazdasága az enyém mellett van, és ott van az ő árpája: menjetek el, és gyújtsátok fel tűzzel; és meggyújták az Absolon szolgái a gazdaságot tűzzel.

Therefore he said unto his servants, See, Joab's field is near mine, and he hath barley there; go and set it on fire. And Absalom's servants set the field on fire.

Absalom a zis atunci slujitorilor lui: „Vedeţi, ogorul lui Ioab este lângă al meu; are orz pe el; duceţi-vă şi puneţi-i foc.” Şi slujitorii lui Absalom au pus foc câmpului.

Then he said to his servants, “See, Joab’s field is next to mine, and he has barley there; go and set it on fire.” So Absalom’s servants set the field on fire.

Erre fölkelt Jóáb, elment Absolonhoz az ő házába, és azt mondta neki: Mi az oka, hogy szolgáid fölgyújtották a gazdaságomat?

Felkele azért Joáb, és méne Absolonhoz az ő házába, és monda néki: Mi az oka, hogy a te szolgáid az én gazdaságomat felgyújtották tűzzel?

Then Joab arose, and came to Absalom unto his house, and said unto him, Wherefore have thy servants set my field on fire?

Ioab s-a sculat şi s-a dus la Absalom acasă. Şi i-a zis: „Pentru ce au pus slujitorii tăi foc câmpului meu?”

Then Joab arose and went to Absalom at his house and said to him, “Why have your servants set my field on fire?”

Absolon így felelt Jóábnak: Azért, mert hozzád küldöttem olyan üzenettel, hogy jöjj ide, hogy a királyhoz küldjelek, és azt mondd neki: Mi szükség volt hazajönnöm Gesúrból? Jobb lenne most is ott lennem. Most azért szeretném látni a király arcát. Ha álnokság van bennem, ölessen meg!

Felele Absolon Joábnak: Azért mert hozzád küldöttem ily szóval, hogy ide jőjj, hogy a királyhoz küldjelek, hogy ezt mondjad [néki]: Mi szükség volt hazajőnöm Gessurból? Jobb volna most is nékem ott [lennem]. Most azért szeretném a király arczát látni; ha van bennem álnokság, ölessen meg engem.

And Absalom answered Joab, Behold, I sent unto thee, saying, Come hither, that I may send thee to the king, to say, Wherefore am I come from Geshur? it had been good for me to have been there still: now therefore let me see the king's face; and if there be any iniquity in me, let him kill me.

Absalom a răspuns lui Ioab: „Iată, ţi-am trimis vorbă şi ţi-am zis: „Vino aici, şi te voi trimite la împărat să-i spui: „Pentru ce m-am întors din Gheşur? Ar fi fost mai bine pentru mine să fiu şi acum acolo.” Doresc acum să văd faţa împăratului; şi dacă este vreo nelegiuire în mine, să mă omoare.”

Absalom answered Joab, “Behold, I sent word to you, ‘Come here, that I may send you to the king, to ask, “Why have I come from Geshur? It would be better for me to be there still.” Now therefore let me go into the presence of the king, and if there is guilt in me, let him put me to death.’”

Jóáb a királyhoz ment, és elmondta neki ezt. Akkor a király hívatta Absolont. Ő elment, és fejet hajtva a király előtt, arccal a földre borult. És megcsókolta a király Absolont.

Elméne azért Joáb a királyhoz, és megmondá néki. És akkor hivatá a [király] Absolont, és elméne a királyhoz, és fejet hajtván a király előtt, arczczal a földre borula. És megcsókolá a király Absolont.

So Joab came to the king, and told him: and when he had called for Absalom, he came to the king, and bowed himself on his face to the ground before the king: and the king kissed Absalom.

Ioab s-a dus la împărat şi i-a spus lucrul acesta. Şi împăratul a chemat pe Absalom, care a venit la el şi s-a aruncat cu faţa la pământ înaintea lui. Împăratul a sărutat pe Absalom.

Then Joab went to the king and told him, and he summoned Absalom. So he came to the king and bowed himself on his face to the ground before the king, and the king kissed Absalom.
